Hey Eleuthria, copied this from the Bitminter thread... note the bit in red, is this actually possible and if so how hard would it be to implement ? I mean if you can cut em off at the knees I'd say go for it and avoid the problem all together. I'd be willing to bet if it is possible and implemented that we'd see numbers jump a bit on some pools being affected, especially on those pools it goes unnoticed on during "investigation" periods. Doc are you even paying attention?
Yes, I am. Is there something I haven't done that you would do with every miner who is slightly unlucky, if it was your pool? If a pool only allows miners with good luck, and kicks you out as soon as you have slightly bad luck, is there really any point to that pool? BTCGuild and Eligius users have both been ripped off by large users that withheld blocks.
Yes, I've been watching that. And today I read at Reddit that someone is doing the same with Ghash. On purpose. And encouraging others to do the same. This is not a good development. But accusing anyone who hits slightly bad luck is not the solution. I believe there was a proposal to make block withholding impossible, but it required a hardfork. Maybe that's what needs to be done.

If you have 15 Th/s and put it on the pool, it will notify you for private server information. I don't respond to private server requests over the forum because of how many times it has been hacked.
So just to be clear, you have a notification set up that when user reached x amount of power that it notifies you of the servers availability ? I know I asked this once before but don't recall your answer but what if any are the benefits to gaining access ? It's a variable speed requirement based on recent hash rate (both user and pool). The private servers are isolated from public servers for DDoS protection. Similar to how during the last major attack, users were receiving notifications of alternate DNS that pointed to "semi-private" servers, except these are given out in advance to high hash rate users. Once your in do you stay in ? Ex. Pool hash continues to grow while the user adds occasional extra hash.

Also, from the website, doesn't mention the tcp thing at all.
CGMiner is one of the most advanced and full feature miners available. It runs in a command line, but allows configuration while running using the keyboard. After launching cgminer, you will be prompted with the following:
URL: stratum.btcguild.com:3333 Username: username_workername (example: MoreBloodWine_1) Password: 123 (or leave blank, it does not matter)
-------
Miner Connection Details Stratum Servers Host (USA) stratum.btcguild.com:3333 Host (EU) eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333 Username MoreBloodWine_1 Password (anything)

I never gave much thought to it since it's always worked. but I was bored and started looking through the config file trying to figure something out and got side tracked by the URL for BTCGuild.
I mean why not use this which is what my backup URL's for stratum look like. stratum+tcp://btcguild.com:3333
btcguild.com points to the web server. So that wouldn't work obviously. Or say even use this... stratum.btcguild.com:3333
If you were entering the URL when prompted instead of a config file, stratum.btcguild.com:3333 works, but I think the config file requires the full stratum+tcp:// which identifies the protocol to connect with. The reason you have the "redundant" stratum (stratum+tcp:// and stratum.btcguild.com) is because stratum.btcguild.com is a subdomain which points to the pool servers, while stratum+tcp:// is used to let the miner know to connect with the stratum protocol over a persistent TCP connection. So basically just keep it thee way it is now since it's been working that way without issue.

stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333
That's what's in my config file right now and is pretty much inline with how my backup URL's look. Anyway, it got me to thinking.
Am I even calling it right ?

Or would pretty much all of those work ?

Apparently it's against the rules to do certain things here, who knew in a self moderated forum lol. So ya, anyone wanting to ever use this signature better not do here or ck will come and get you. Even if no one ever decides they want one for their own stat's, they can still use mine to display block info as seen below. [SNIP]
It's very nice, but it amounts to including a signature effectively in the body of your message which is against the forum rules if you include it in every one of your posts so please stop doing it. Forum signatures don't even support images at all, so you won't get banned for it even if you try. More on-topic though, I don't see why this would be useful at all considering the fact that what you are charging is way too much for something that takes perhaps 10-20 minutes to do with an API. Besides not having to pay, you can also customize it however you want if you do it yourself as well as not being limited to a 5-min refresh. Also, if you use these images in these forums at all, they won't refresh because of the image proxy. EDIT: To the person above, it's not that simple. These images update automatically, although I don't think they are worth the money still. Keeping in mind, these prices were set when the per coin was relatively low. So I could say do 0.01 since coin is on the rise which IMO is still being quite fair. I can also customize on a per user basis to include any of the items seen in the original listing, even if all someone wanted was something as simple as... This Or this... As you can see, it's easily customized on a per user basis even though I never really stated that in the main post. Also, going back to price for a min, I will after posting this change the main post to reflect a price of 0.01 and the one user, as btcton said, it's not that easy as what I provide is auto updated. Edit: The refresh like everything else can be user chosen from anything of every 1 min and up. I will be amending the main post to reflect new info. PS: My signatures do refresh here just not too often because of the proxy or w/e. Edit 2 7/5/14: Regardless of the proxy here, a simple ctrl+f5 refresh forces a new cached image so technically you can get the images data to refresh here on the forums.

Wow, so everyone here is a hard ass when a member of the community tries to make and share something ! He wasn't being a hard-ass, just pointing out that it's against forum rules. As is apparently a lot of other things around here. What should be against the rules is the PTB sitting on a horde of coin people donated over the years for forums upgrades that never came ! As to not side track this post this will be my last OT matter in it.

Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s

Shenzhen, 28 November 2013: Black Arrow releases the Preliminary datasheet of the Minion ASIC Shenzhen, 26 September, 2013: Black Arrow is proud to announce that it has upgraded the specifications of its Minion chip to 100 Ghash (up to 128 Ghash when overclocked). Prospero X-1 will scan 100Ghash while using less than 55 Watts and Prospero X-3 will be able to scan an outstanding 2000Ghash while using less than 1050 Watt. I look back at this and laugh since the X1 is now essentially double this while the X3 is now as last reported I think 1400-1500w. And... Please note that February deliveries are limited because we will produce a limited number of wafers. The remaining orders will need to wait 1 month more until the 2nd batch.
