901  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: August 17, 2014, 05:25:26 PM
How are people notified if they have won one of the S3's ?
My friend that won 2 so far was notified by email. But all the winners so far are listed on first page and I am sure it will be updated soon.
So people can win more than once ?

Also, how does the randomness of choosing a person work. Just doesn't seem so random if this friend has won twice already.
902  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: August 17, 2014, 05:23:46 PM
This may be a slightly stupid question but given the ever expanding nature of the blockchain from its monthly growth when it started to it's monthly growth now. How long would one guess that a 500Gb drive would last for an online armory system that has nothing else on it but mbam & norton with Vista 32bit as an OS ?

Also, pool disconnects have been happening some times, how does this affect user chances since it says 250Gh/s for the entire previous day.
904  Other / Off-topic / Ok, so NewEgg bit me in the ass... need help with choosing a new SATA non AF HDD on: August 17, 2014, 05:10:21 PM
Long story short...

Bought a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4467 off eBay, bought this HDD for it. Even bought the recover discs from Toshiba so I can reinstall the original Vista OS since the key was still on the back of the laptop.

What I didn't know was that this thing, Advanced Format, existed for hard drives. That said, this "feature" was halting the installation of windows. Got as far as the initializing for the first time thing before getting a popup which read...

(Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware.)

Anyway, no matter what I tried I can't get this POS to work. So I requested RMA on the drive and now am here seeking your guys help in finding a 500Gb SATA drive on NewEgg that I can use in this laptop that is not an Advanced Format drive.

Anything not priced higher than $60 would suffice but would prefer around the $40 -  $50 range sine this POS AF drive I have now cost me $50.

Ty.
905  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: M's Ant (S1/S2/S3?) Monitor v2.7: alerts, auto reboot, S2 shutdown, mass reboots on: August 17, 2014, 03:47:34 PM
Just published v2.7:

v2.7
- Fixed a problem with the web code that would trigger if you have less than 3 Ants.
- Fixed multiple problems with the web reboot code.  I don't see how it would have ever worked.  Apparently I broke this at some point.
- Added more exception handling logic to hopefully catch odd errors instead of throwing the awful .Net default messages.
- Hopefully addressed some issues that would occur if you entered your Ant's DNS name (antminer1) instead of the IP address.  This is theoretical
functionality, for best results use an IP address.
- Changed to use the last two parts of the IP address (0.90) instead of the last part (90) to allow you to have Ants on multiple subnets without
them walking on each other.  That is, 192.168.0.90 and 192.168.0.91 will now work properly.
- Changed to use and store the port of the Ant address, so those using the Web scraping API on a non standard port will still be able to use it.  Enter the address as 192.168.0.91:port if you're using a nonstandard port.
- Changed the pushing of pool info to work if you don't have all 3 pools populated.

Download link: MAntMonitor27.zip

There were some decent changes in here, it's possible I missed something.  Feedback is always welcome.

M
I would love to use his but have the new FW on all of my S3's ;-(

I really hope Bitmain doesn't sell out of the S3+ B8 by Friday. Anybody know if they'll have a batch 9?
Alleviate your fears by placing an order today.
Yea coinbase sucks and it'll take sometime to get the btc sooooo yea.
Not if you have instant buy like me.
908  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: August 16, 2014, 06:06:03 PM
Thanks for the info, wish I could get your elect rates!!!!!
Lol I don't tehnically pay for it at home even though my rates only around 0.092 pe kWh.

Everything's hosted at my friends business who has free electricity written in to his lease... he does some internet stuff. Anyway, this is where people begin to hate me lol

This is what he's hosting for me...

3 x 1Th Dragon
4 x 440Gh/s S3 OC @ freq 237.5
1 x Prospector200 (200Gh machine)

All for about $1 per 50 watts / $20 per 1,000 watts.

So all in all I pay him about $100 a month right now for hosting ~5Th for me.

The prospector mines just enough to pay for most of the hosting costs but it's pretty much end of life since it wont be proitable much longer. I'll basically run everything to the point to where they make enough to run them with no profit.
909  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: August 16, 2014, 05:46:17 PM
Hi MBW, if you don't mind me asking, how are you balancing your hash power between pools for variance. I have 1.1Th here which gets me about 0.02+/- a day and 4.5th at another pool that's score based so I get 0.02+/- every block(0-8 blocks a day depending on luck, but averages 4-5 over time).
I actually have everything pointed here ~5Th with some OC on my four S3's. I have two other pools I use with failover.

So I don't have any real distribution going on. I do have one S3 though pointed at another pool right now so I can test something but I still have ~4.7 here.

I think this can work well if OP has someone he trusts well enough to help.

Also, @OP, repaid my Aug. 17 loan to haploid ;-)
911  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 16, 2014, 10:56:02 AM
I do wish the BITMAIN would publish the device driver details so that a current version of cgminer could be attained. I know at least 2 releases in 4 had notes about queue improvements and one at least specifically stated it generated work much faster. Also one of the last 3's had an improvement about how work was loaded into devices. I know for sure 3.12 is very old and I am positive that many work generation improvements have been added since then.

Exactly. I don't understand why they don't work more closely with the cgminer devs - using such an old miner for this equipment is false economy. There have been many improvements & optimixations since this cgminer release, not to mention a very important fix for work redirection by a third party.
Can we just SSH in to it and compile CGMiner to a newer version ?

I read somewhere that the new firmware update shows a new Freq tab or something, I have just uploaded it but don't see any changes?
Miner Configuration > Advanced Settings.
Thanks, so if I also use Putty to O/C does this now do anything?
If you have the new FW installed you can just forget putty all together.

I kind of like things the way they are now, having a group of Stunnas choosing will leave a lot of honest / regularly posting people out in the proverbial cold.
915  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering BTC loans [no collateral] on: August 16, 2014, 09:06:25 AM
I was wondering if you might allow my 0.3 request 1 day early.

Repayment by weeks end, August 16/17.

Didn't see this post until just now. Banks or coinbase processing does not work until business hours. I'll send you the funds at midnight of the 11th, your time zone, then your coinbase Txn gets processed tomorrow morning. I wouldn't think it matters if you initiated coinbase withdraw now (Sunday morning) or Monday midnight.

Loaned amount 0.3btc, repayment 0.315 btc due August 17. If you agree, I'll send in ~12-14 hours.
Agreed and ty.

0.3 btc sent: https://blockchain.info/tx/c8a00b55997fcd16c379616995cc23fd0d1dcf36d6aaf2634c847bffe0875355

Repayment address (note that it's different than the address for your first loan).

Loan repaid as agreed, Ty again... feedback being left after this reply is posted.

My loan fell through.  Check the address I posted for confirmation.

Coinhashing now has them for $349 shipped.  With BTC tanking at $500, that's about 0.7 BTC.  If someone can front me 0.45 BTC, I'll be able to get an S3 and get my Ant Monitor app working with it ASAP.  I will pay you back as I have it available, which worse case, will be as soon as I can can mine it at 1.5 TH/s.

Any takers?

Thanks,

M
Surprised the loan didn't work out, last I saw it said pending approval providing you proved the account was yours since 2011 and some other stuff.
917  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: August 16, 2014, 12:02:16 AM
Is this PPS or PPLNS because I've seen both referenced.

Also, I made an account to play with, keep setting threshold to .01 but it's defaulting over n over n over to 0.0005.

Threshold is now 0.001 for the new PPS system... I need to update that... Can't set it higher as I don't want anyone keeping any significant balances in the pool...
Lol, I dont think allowing a min auto payout of 0.01 is asking too much.

That is a really good deal.
If I had that I would load it up.  LOL
Then again I don't have the money to buy much of anything.

No but in all honestly, my host is a friend of mine with a internet / server business about 5hrs from me. He charges me $1 a month per 50w of power so for 1k watts I pay $20 a month. To put it in to a bigger perspective, hes hosting ~5 Ths for me at $100 a month so I can't complain considering what I would pay at home to host or at an actual host company.

All in all I only lost about 0.06 even though I was down for 16hrs.

Edit:

1Th Dragon x 3
Antminer S3 x 4
Prospector 200 x 1

That sucks.  Do they compensate you??

I don't want to wreck the mojo but we are rolling pretty well luck wise right now.  Knock on wood.
I am happy I hope everyone else is.
I'm happy but be happier if I didn't lose 16hrs on over 4Th from a storm yesterday where my machines are hosted bu I'm up now, have been for a while, so there's that.
He still has power limits lol
920  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 15, 2014, 11:01:06 PM
The point is, the "pool" is paying out more than it can ever take in on a PPS model so somethings up somewhere.

Trying to build a bitcoin affiliate network is what they are saying, also they claim the payout of bonus may last up until 5TH. This suggests they could end it sooner if they reach the goals for the pool.

If something is to good to be true it usually is. But on the other hand, if I had the resources, and could afford it, I would do the exact same thing to promote my own business, though perhaps not as aggresive as 12.5% Smiley

*Edit I am on the NY server, I only had a few minor disconnects, which may have to do with the fact the pool / company is in process of being built.
stratum+tcp://east2.bitcoindigger.com:3333

STILL dead ! I'll let test miner run for 10 minutes to see if it corrects but I doubt it.

Edit: Seems it was a worker issues _ instead of .
