Well, here's hoping the government doesn't screw us which is laughable since they almost always do in one way or another.
1245  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: July 13, 2014, 07:34:57 PM
Do not use pools as a bank

Posting this reminder as once again a significant number of coins had built up in the hot wallet and have been transferred to the cold wallet.  Please do not use the pool as your bank.  The incoming coins to the pool should be almost exactly mirrored with withdrawals, with the exception of small balances unable to meet minimum/auto withdrawal levels.  When this doesn't happen, it forces the pool to move coins into cold wallets, and in the event of a sudden spike in withdrawals, can severely delay the availability of funds since they have to be moved back to the hot wallet.

Just posting this again.  After seeing Just-Dice's closure recently due to Canadian law changes, I want to know that if something happened in the US which forces BTC Guild to do the same it's not going to result in funds that can't be paid out without starting a massive KYC process before allowing withdrawals.  Just-Dice had a few weeks warning.  That same luxury may not be available if it happens in the US!  The pool's official policy (as stated in the FAQ and 2nd post in this thread) has always been that in the event of a closure there will be a 3 month window where the pool is no longer running but withdrawals are open, but there is also the caveat that this policy may be superseded if it is no longer legal for BTC Guild to operate in the same way.

It makes no sense to allow weeks/months worth of coins to build up on your BTC Guild account.  You cannot make specific withdrawals to people to use it as a limited wallet, only full balance or 0.01 intervals, neither of which are useful for conducting Bitcoin transactions (and that's on purpose!).
I've always had my stuff set for 0.01

That being said, I've never heard of Just Dice, who are they and what happened ? I assume they're something US based and have some sort of gambling thing running for em given the name Just Dice.

Edit: I see where you said they're canadian now lol
1246  Economy / Services / Re: Minersource.net - Now Paying for your signatures! on: July 12, 2014, 08:52:23 PM
Sorry for the late payment guys, had a very buisy day.

Again- We are full Right now, only taking re-ups until we free some space.

Will be sending payouts shortly
So just so were all on the same page. People who signed up before are guaranteed spots in the new run and no one new will be allowed in until someone backs out ?

I woulda thought you would at least allow new people a spot and ask those that already participated to step aside.
So, you're saying people who have been loyal to this campaign should leave instead of having priority over people who have been at other campaigns? I don't see the logic in that.
Some people would disagree but I say it's also about being fair / giving other people a chance.

Now here's why people would disagree.

Simply by saying, just go join another sig campaign.

Now while that is doable, the matter comes down to who you can trust. Me personally, I trust Matt aka bobsag.

There's also the fact that when people find a good thing like this, that chances are they may never leave which means the only way new people get to join is if Matt opens up more spots which he may or may never do. I mean whether they run a business like Matt or some individual with a casino hobby. They can only afford to "give away" so much BTC so the chances of more spots opening is usually slim to none.

1248  Economy / Goods / Re: Samsung 60" LED 3D Smart TV !!FREE SHIPPING!! on: July 12, 2014, 12:10:13 AM
Daily BTCump, and weekend sale! $1550 shipped anywhere in the lower 48!
Whats your markup since you did say you got em cheap ?

 Wink
Lol, def not making an offer now with that smiley since I assume the answer will be in the $600 neighborhood. which meant your looking at a profit of about a grand a piece.

Lol, I wish, not even close! Do you go to the store and ask them what their mark up is? Whoever buys the TV's will get the original receipt. Why does it really matter what I paid for them, either way you are getting a hell of a deal!
Yes and no because most of the time one can easily find out.

But anyway, ty for your time... going to un-watch this now.

Most people don't run these any more and have them in a box somewhere so please don't try to charge more than you know you should for something your not even using, Ty.

PM with price and quantity, Ty.

1252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Public notes ? on: July 09, 2014, 11:39:22 PM
I've seen this done before. But how, when using the blockchain app on my phone can I add a public note ?

I'd like to start being able to do this for slightly better record keeping so when I pay my collo guy I can just say something like, repaying loan or Aug. 2014 hosting costs etc.

Assuming when you say the blockchain app that you are referring to blockchain.info

How do I make a public note?
You can embed a public note when doing a transaction with Blockchain.info. Simply input your message in the column below when sending a transaction.

https://blockchain.info/wallet/website-faq
Thx for that, guess you can only do it from the website... I mainly use the android app.

Ty though.

Wonder if it's something Michael might implement and if not, maybe if there was enough interest in such a feature he might if we pooled a small donation.

Nothing fancy, maybe just something that says who found what of the last 50 blocks or even 20 etc.

Could we, please implement some good luck? For a small donation of course  Grin Grin Grin

Now seriously, what would it give to you, say you would know, last block found by user #468521. How can someone benefit from that?
Just being able to see who found which of the last x blocks.

Of say the last 20 blocks, you found 2, wouldnt you have some small amount of curiosity of which two of those 20 you found ?

Or is it kind of a sweet found two blocks and leave it at that ?

I just think a small amount of in depth info wouldnt hurt in regards to knowing which block you found of say the last 20 if any.
1255  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: July 09, 2014, 09:59:44 PM
Ex. Lets say of the last two blocks found, 309989 & 309991, I found one. The question becomes which one.

Oh, I believe, there is no such option on our pool, yet Smiley
That sucks, I think bitminter has something like it with the last 50 or something.

I'll keep the image thing in mind for the next release. Shouldn't be too hard.
So I can say that I asked, if you work on the code but dont plan on a new release for a while. I'd like it passed along if it's not too complicated. I actually have things I kinda need more than five images for.

Even if I didn't need more then 5 images, the squished 5th image is a pet peeve of sorts lol.

Ty.

Edit: Oh, one thing I did notice that I forgot to mention. When items are bought / paid for using the Coinbase API. They're not added to the RSS when it's enabled.

Now that I'm running some serious gear, 3+ Th/s... every time we find a block I find myself checking stats with a small amount of excitement hoping it was me lol.

Is there a way to tell specifically which member found which block ?

https://www.btcguild.com/index.php?page=rankings

Look at found blocks column bottom, to see if you have found a block or not.
I know that, that's what I keep checking to see if I found a block. But my query was specifically about which block one finds.

Ex. Lets say of the last two blocks found, 309989 & 309991, I found one. The question becomes which one.

Is 90% luck the new norm? Sad
Dunno, but I know yesterday could have been better, who knows, maybe tomorrow / today lady luck will grace us.
