The point is, the "pool" is paying out more than it can ever take in on a PPS model so somethings up somewhere.

Edit: FWIW, if it's such a good pool it wouldnt have two dead nodes lol

Quote
For a limited time this pool is currently open to the public mining community. There are no fees and a 12.5% bonus is paid out on all bitcoins mined.

Totally not a scam.

Yup not a scam at all, 12.5 % bonus AND there is also a tread that he says he`s giving away 1 free S3 every day for august. ya right.

Is it a scam or?
I mine there and the BTC payments have hit my wallet.

Edit: Paying PPS now with auto payouts. Also the bonus has been paid.  My buddy has won 2 of the S3 miners and should take delivery this weekend or next week. Will see if they show.

Signed up.
Rolled 2 S1's to test.

FYI here is my payouts that have hit my wallet.

I have pulled my miners a couple times and sometimes only ran half of them but am sold enough on this pool that I have all miners running there now. ( @ 2.5THs)

I'm sorry but I'm still crying foul here, your the only fanboy whos shown "proof" from the site. For the fun of it I took my 10Gh pi off BTC Guild and put it on both New York and VA, and guess what.... DEAD.

lol

And besides, you know why it's a scam because the pool pays out more than it ever takes in. Your just trying to get hash there to find a 25btc block and walk away happy with it all to your self.

Anyone else see the upgrade kits available?  Thoughts?

The upgrade is almost 80% the cost of a new S3+. Doesn't seem like a good deal to me...
Especially considering the ship date lol.
924  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 15, 2014, 05:17:53 PM
Ok, so I'm now at ~15hrs on 237.5 on all four of my Batch 5 S3's but the images were around the ~12hr mark. Anyway, things look quite good IMO but I am curious as to why I'm seeing ~460 on the 1st machine when I have no X's.

HW percentages are at the top of every pic.

I know I said yesterday I didn't want to attempt 250 but I sill might on one machine later just to see what happens. Since not being on 250 can be seen as a loss of 100Gh/s between the four machines.

HW % = 0.03

HW % = 0.06

HW % = 0.007

HW % = 0.003

Will shipping of antminer s3 B7 start at august 20?
Supposed to last I saw / heard.

Edit: I forget but what's an acceptable HW % ? Anything under 1% ?

wouldnt running 340 watts at the wall constantly 24/7 cost about $5 aday to run, which is what these are making at today difficulty so why bother?

WOW! cost less than $0.50 a day here

That's like $0.60 per Kwh!  Can't be right.

I'm in the UK and we're on a "cheap" tariff £0.12/$0.20 per Kwh (£0.97/$1.63) and I make about £4.60/$7.70 per day in total at the current BTC value.  But I do it because its an extension of my computing/electronics hobbies Smiley
My kWh I think is around 0.092 last I checked.

That is actually an interesting point which is why I'm glad I can run four for $20 a month in all ;-)

I am curious as to others thoughts on your quote though because it is a valid point.

Is this campaighn still available? I've filled out the form a few moments ago.

post count:233

btc address: 1HdK3k1LWG429jADbu9GXTszWmGGz9uVdX

Yes the campaign is still available.
You didn't forget to fill in the second form blank?

claim payment form? I've submited both. Did you get it?
The payment form should have been submitted blank.

God.. I'll submit it again...

EDIT: I've submited it again, second page blank, signature is ok.
I don't know if it was a good idea to submit it again.
If you want to know for sure if you're enrolled you should ask Stunna.
I never submitted a blank payment page when I signed up because it never said to nor made any damn sense. I don't think it matters any way if you don't do it.

Stunnas never said anything about it.

Just got done flashing all four to the new firmware, hope all holds up well. If not, I go my backup I made.

Which BTW, can backups be used as rollbacks ?

Ex. Say new FW hates me, can I use backup to go back or do I need to get a new DL from the Bitmain site ?

The backups only backup the /etc/config directory, not the firmware.
Ahh, well were ~10hrs since flash and all seems well for the four machines except for one. But this quirkiness will be posted about later since it was going on even before the flash and is not too big of a deal.

Hey M, I've actually been thinking about this more but even if you fix "my" port problem before the IP thing. Wont the IP thing affect me because of the subtle difference from machine to machine ?

Ex.

1.2.3.4.5676
1.2.3.4.5677
1.2.3.4.5678
1.2.3.4.5679

Does anyone know of a way to "hack" the S3 so instead of say showing an HW value of 200 it takes that and the diff's, does the math and instead displays the HW % out to like x.xxx ?
932  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 15, 2014, 03:02:43 AM
I just flashed a B5 to the newest firmware, defaulted to 237 instead of 218.75, and at 237 I was getting really bad hash-rate at ~100GHs Sad Had to set it to the default 218.75 to get her back at ~440GHs.

Was sad to see 225 was not listed in the frequency drop-down.
I though I saw it but your right, it's not there. Curious as to why though when 225 is supposed to be default to the S3+ or w/e.

Curious if this new FW will even be on the S3+. No that it matters since at the current price point and projected release date and the diff increases between now and then it could easily be a wash.

I saw. Smiley

BTW I'm almost done with my changes to support web ports other than 80 and a few other things.

M
Any chance my good luck rubbed off on you enough to see that soon ;-p

Really hate 4 open tabs refreshing every so often.
935  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 15, 2014, 01:57:13 AM
Thx for the help guys, I'm flashing the new FW jus for ease of use should I ever need to DC. Just OC'd today no even 8 hrs ago via SSH lol
936  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 15, 2014, 01:43:28 AM
No point in me upgrading firmware then. I've tried every other frequency under the sun and I just get either disastrous instability or dead chips. But then I haven't tried 219 yet. Swear I must've got a dud unit or something as it seriously sucks that I can't even seem to hold it at the 440 gh/s the S3's are rated for...
Speaking of diff freq's, like 219, anyone report whats in the freq tab or ust the four basics ?

Does the freq tab allow for custom freqs, as far as I can tell, there's 3 values needed.

Edit: Can someone still tell me how to check current FW version ?

Ty.

938  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 15, 2014, 01:26:40 AM

I tried it out and my ant decided to just sit back, relax and open up a beer at 100 gh/s. Rolled back and it's still just dicking about at 400gh/s instead. Maybe I did something wrong

after you upgrade it, you need to save and restart from the new Freq Tab, than you'll get your proper speed.
So the only change then as far as anyone knows is OC / DC from the web ?

Still now sure if I want to flash, not too sure how let alone see what FW I even have right now.
939  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 15, 2014, 12:19:48 AM
add frequency advanced setting

I wonder if it's for OC / DC via web.

Edit: Also, how do I check my current FW ?
940  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: M's Ant (S1/S2/S3) Monitor v2.6: alerts, auto reboot, S2 shutdown, mass reboots on: August 14, 2014, 11:12:33 PM
since the newest firmware i can not get the s3 to be found by the tool
it constant whines and crashes with the know .net errors
there is alot of new toys in the new firmware which might be no longer working for this nice ant monitor
deleting any info regarding the registry or anything i could think off did not solved the issue

Someone want to lend me 1.5 BTC 0.58 * 2 = 1.16 BTC  whatever it costs for a pair of S3s to buy a pair of S3s?  I'll pay you back, might take a bit, but I'll pay you back.

Otherwise it might be a bit before I can afford a pair from Bitmain.

M
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=701592.0

Worth a shot. Might not get the full amount, but worth a shot to maybe get enough to buy one.

Thanks.  Looks like next Bitmain round ships on 9/20.  I'm trying to move, that's too far away for me to borrow and be able to state when I'd repay.

M
Still worth asking and like I said, you might be able to get enough to buy one from someone here or maybe ebay. I mean, to me it's worth looking in to at least.

Edit: Another thing that would work, and I'd contribute. Is setting up an escrow for say 0.7 and ask that people contribute what they can to help you get a miner for testing. Funds wouldnt need to be returned, you'd have a miner in the end, but ya, I'd donate at least 0.02 to it.
