601  Economy / Lending / Re: need 1.5btc. multiple small loans OK! 20% interest - FUNDED! on: February 16, 2015, 09:31:54 PM
How was this funded? Not clear how this turned out...

as i thought was clear in the OP, three people loaned me between a total of 2.5 btc. marco then loaned me some additional. whats the confusion?
602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens in the aftermath of a Bitcoin funded terrorist attack? on: February 16, 2015, 07:26:03 PM
So you believe that the only way terrorist organization can acquire bitcoin is to buy it with us currency? very short sighted, no? LocalBitcoins? hacking? use your imagination.

dude, local bitcoins still needs currency... but yea, theft/hacking is of course an option too. except the theft of any significant amount (like the bter hack today) is readily known, and the addresses involved are then known and can be tracked.
603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens in the aftermath of a Bitcoin funded terrorist attack? on: February 16, 2015, 07:23:01 PM
yea, cause of the whole blockchain - every transaction being traceable and known - built in to bitcoin, the second the government got wind of any organization they wanted to monitor having a bitcoin address, or even considering such, they'd track every transaction of every coin to that address back to the minting of the coins. wouldn't even be hard, once they had an address to start from.
604  Economy / Lending / Re: need 1.5btc. multiple small loans OK! 20% interest - FUNDED! on: February 16, 2015, 07:59:31 AM
my income at the time was sufficient to handle repayment as planned. then uber changed it's rates. twice since the loan was requested. and not small changes either. the last one was a 20% reduction.

my last check from them was 2 cents after the car payment, which is withdrawn automatically before they pay me.

a friend of mine is an insurance adviser selling AFLAC insurance. he's passing my contact info to his boss along with his recommendation. mind you, i'm still looking for other, regular work in fields i know. but at the same time if all goes well with my friends boss, i'll begin studying for my state insurance sales license and go from there. according to my friend, he believes he could have me making significant money (being in my own apartment was the example, with an estimated needed income of 1200 monthly.) within 3 months at the outside. i suspect he's being overly confident. but if he's proven correct, or even close to it, that gives you an idea of a timeline. i would be repaying you guys long efore anything like moving, getting married, getting a car (as i'll be returning the toyota to the finance company and stopping working for uber.) and so forth.

so, in the short term i'm still quite screwed, but there's some medium term plans in the works that should bare fruit.

Ideally, currencies are not to be enjoyed, but to be used for more interesting and practical purposes. I will celebrate the day when it'll seem practical to adopt crypto for doing business. More then the practicality of getting free media coverage for adopting it by accepting bitpay's USD services.
Till then, it's all just a fun night at the casino.

Good enough, and agreed.

I get a little carried away now and then. I also look forward to the day when nation states are bound by a Blockchain for the spending of tax dollars.

Perhaps one day we will have responsible governance... Perhaps some day...

i'll be shocked beyond description if anything even close to it comes about in our lifetimes.
606  Economy / Lending / Re: need 1.5btc. multiple small loans OK! 20% interest - FUNDED! on: February 13, 2015, 03:03:11 AM
What about an escrow on here?

i don't follow. what, put my account in escrow until i pay you off after you pay off the loans? uh... still not interested. my account is not for sale. this is my first name. my REAL one. i don't intend to give that up for anything short of a massive amount of money.
607  Economy / Lending / Re: need 1.5btc. multiple small loans OK! 20% interest - FUNDED! on: February 13, 2015, 03:00:20 AM
Ill repay all of your loans if you give me your account as collateral

no.
608  Economy / Lending / Re: need 1.5btc. multiple small loans OK! 20% interest - FUNDED! on: February 13, 2015, 02:26:03 AM
Even if the bank denied you a bank loan, taking out a loan on here was probably a very bad idea. The reasons why they denied you were likely similar to the reasons above.

If this would have resulted in you not having money to repair your car, however you could still have tried to have found other work that did not involve you driving for a living

granted. given what's now happened with uber's prices dropping, that would probably have been the wiser choice. my last uber payment was $.02 after the car payment. yep. 2 cents. i don't have any money this week, so i can't go out and earn more to try and pay that car payment. good times, good times.

i'll likely be returning the car to the fiance company before i get so far behind they repossess it and go back to using my old pontiac sunfire. ...which i need to renew the registration and fix a coolant leak on.

my friend is taking me out with him tomorrow as he does his new job, selling AFLAC insurance. he's trying to get me to join him... i don't think i have the salesmen style though, so i'm skeptical. but i gotta try something. obviously i also have been sending my resumes to relevant jobs too.

probably a good idea to leave negative trust on me at this point guys. i'll get you repaid, but i don't know when.
609  Economy / Lending / Re: need 1.5btc. multiple small loans OK! 20% interest - FUNDED! on: February 13, 2015, 12:00:23 AM
I am thing that Vod was right on this one. It would have been better for arkian to get a bank loan, or not borrow at all in order to save on interest.

I think most of the lenders were willing to lend because BPB stepped in last time to payoff his loan, as well as the fact that they would be receiving positive trust as part of the deal, despite the fact that positive trust would be wildly inappropriate for a borrower to give on a no collateral loan

You do realize I tried and failed to get a bank loan?
610  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 12, 2015, 06:29:41 AM
so little volume this evening. what gives? looks like whole chunks (5 minute chart) are passing without trades. (i'm looking at bitstamp on cryptowatch)
611  Other / Off-topic / any insurance salesmen here? considering becoming an agent on: February 12, 2015, 05:58:52 AM
friend of mine recently became and AFLAC insurance agent. still training, only passed his test just prior to christmas, but he talks a big game. as i'm in desperate need of a job with real income asap, he's suggesting i follow his footsteps. so, thought i'd ask here opinions on it.

anyone done aflac sales or other insurance? what about other 100% commission jobs? i'm not what i'd consider a natural salesman. i couldn't talk a starving man into spending his last dollar on a belt buckle or some shit. but i can talk to people and tell them about good products. so, maybe? i don't know...

as the kid who dreamed of game development as a career, the fact i'm even considering this seems ludicrous. but damn do i need a job.
612  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2015, 06:48:02 AM
A guy said the longer we stay stable at this price, the higher the chance that we will be going down. Because we're still in a downtrend.

I tend to think otherwise; if we stay stable at this price, then that is because the downtrend is losing strength which is obviously a bullish thing.

What do you guys think?

i'm no expert at all, but yea, i tend to agree with your logic. that may be my unfounded optimism though.

The google doc sheet was not updated with the current payday, it still shows 19 Jan., but I think today is two weeks from the 19th that marked the last payday.

I really hope this low stress high quality campaign continues, especially considering all the improvements that are in the works for BitDice.me!

Thanks and good luck!

two weeks and a day by my calendar.

Thanks Muhammed, that was unexpected and wasn't asked for. Thank you!

Arklan, no rush on the remaining repayment forget about the late fees! If you need another Bitcoin top up let me know and I'd gladly fulfil the request.

wait, what? you'd loan me more even though i've not repaid you?

well my car IS a few thousand miles over due on an oil change and tire rotation...
