641  Other / Meta / Re: Don't send PMs begging for merits. on: October 01, 2020, 03:50:24 PM
That's like saying life's too short to care about money or a promotion at work. It's those things that often give people a better life so that's why they desire them as ranks here = promotion and more merit = more money and time saved if they can get it. The majority of people who spend their time here desperately trying to achieve ranks or earn from from campaigns are probably doing it because it's one of their better options. Would you rather be unemployed or do back-breaking menial work when you can get paid from the comfort of your own home for doing some posting? Some signature campaigns pay a good amount of money and if you're from the developing world getting on a campaign like Chipmixer might be life-changing money so that's why people are desperate for merit/ranks as it means more money for them. If most of these people had better options they'd probably be doing them but sadly they likely don't.

Of course, that's why I said not to care "too much", since some of these people (we're talking about beggars right) are really obsessed or desperate, as if reaching a higher rank leads you to paradise. But indeed, for some people in some regions in the world, even a few dollars a week can make a huge difference, I do realize that.

Just clarifying, I wouldn't want people to think I'm a nut who believes we could all live from "l'amour et de l'eau fraîche". Wink

Living in the world of eight-balls.....  Grin

You might want to try and Google that one for a second Grin it's used by some people as a not so friendly encrypted message Cool
643  Other / Meta / Re: Don't send PMs begging for merits. on: October 01, 2020, 11:44:15 AM
Good for you guys for being really tolerant for stuff like this. On a bad day, I could probably see myself publicizing their PMs lol. Thankfully I haven't received any spam emails for a while though, so there's that.

but it seems to be the mid ranking members that do this.
Now this is the quite surprising part.

Surprising, well, yes and no. "My" beggar (yes I've got my own personal beggar now Cool) was a Newbie, who probably didn't know the rules very well, because it's really not that difficult to get 10 "Member rank" Merits. Most Merit-giving members put the bar relatively low for Newbies, provided they do not shitpost and show minimal "genuine" interest in the boards.

It's getting more difficult once you're on the way from Member and up, I guess, for the simple reason that you need a lot more to rank up.

Like hilariousetc was saying:

It's very hard for an average poster to rise through the ranks, hell, even a decent poster probably won't achieve the sufficient merit to become a Hero within the timeframe it takes to get the required activity (...)

What most people don't understand is that life's too short to care too much about Merit. I've often wondered how much money and energy people lose when they spend their time desperately posting spam and begging for Merit and coins, instead of putting that time and energy in a real-life job with a real-life income (fiat of course, but at least it's better than nothing except for a lot of frustrations and in the end seeing your modest profile getting banned for spamming or begging).

People should come to these boards to learn, participate (that's not a synonym of shitpost) and have a good time (probably in that order).
644  Other / Meta / Re: Don't send PMs begging for merits. on: October 01, 2020, 09:12:33 AM
Same here, received one two days ago from this guy, but it was the first time I had someone PM begging if I remember well.

@mk4: "please send me some merit" is not much of a spectacular message to publish, but maybe the PMs you receive are more prosaic Wink

In the end, I didn't reply but I did leave a neutral comment on his profile, which he should be happy about, since I normally report quite rapidly, but I tend to be a little bit more lenient for Newbies lately.

Mildness comes with the age, probably Cool right, JC? Wink
645  Economy / Reputation / Re: 🏆 Crypto Community Awards - Discussion on: September 30, 2020, 05:18:27 PM
I decided that it would be useful to revive the thread a little. There is news, perhaps there is another voting option, (So as not to use the standard interface).

In the meantime, it is only possible to implement the option in which users will vote, confirming their vote with the merit sent. But you need to be sure that after summing up the results, theymos will return the merits to the senders (as it was, for example, on April 1). Since the OP will receive over 1000 merit during the vote.

P.S. Guess who could theoretically own the first T-shirt?

Damn, I must admit the only reason I could imagine being willing to do the whole KYC process on this board, would be in order to get to walk around in one of these Grin absolutely cool!

Bullshit in, blijft bullshit out.

Lijkt me weer een nieuwe uitdaging. Cool

(waarvoor dank Smiley)

Good to know.

For your info, the Minephone has already been launched in some parts of Europe and soon to be launched everywhere on September. We would love to see what you got to say then. Till then, cheers and stay safe!

Today is the last day of September and the deadline for the Minephone's launch "everywhere", as claimed by the official campaign manager a few weeks ago. ^ quote

If you have any investment, financial interests or rights in this project, I'd strongly suggest you to seek legal help and consider legal action against this company.

For your info, the Minephone has already been launched in some parts of Europe and soon to be launched everywhere on September. We would love to see what you got to say then. Till then, cheers and stay safe!

Is there a point at which you will let us know in which "parts" of Europe it has been launched, or is it a secret? There are parts of Europe which have an actual name, you know. We call them "countries". Maybe you could name a few of these countries where your Minephone has already been launched. Or "parts" of these countries, of course, since you insist.

Here, let me help you out:

Also, is there a point at which you will let us know at what day in September it will be launched "everywhere", or is it a secret? Can't be very difficult to answer, because there's hardly any days left in September.

Here, let me help you out once more:

Or maybe your bumpers can answer the question, because they seem to know about as much about this project as you do?

Take your time to reply. In the meantime, I'll spend "parts" of my time reporting your bumpers a bit.
Please join the telegram group! Looks like you are missing out on so much of info! And clearly sounds like you were left out of something. Maybe the bounty? How much you have such hatred? The pandemic is still on and Europe being the worst hit, we are still operating and launching/distributing rewards. Whatever has been promised, IS being fulfilled. Just that you are missing out and only trying to pull us down.

Mate I have "so much such hatred", you have no idea.

Also, you did not answer at all. Smiley

Which countries in Europe and what date in September? You've got only one option left: tomorrow. Cool

I've warned you about the shitposters in your bounty a year ago when I got out of the campaign and you replied I wasn't getting out but you were kicking me out, and that I should mind my own business. Result: a year later your campaign has completely failed and your thread is kept alive by 3 bumpers. Cheesy

You've failed as a campaign manager.

a Welsh coin I believe. every time you shag a sheep you get a daicoin. Alun Wyn Jones is a very rich man now

Umm...where can I see how many Dai I have from this?

Asking for a friend.

Also, what can you do with 23 Daicoin?

Theymos should make a separate board, or even a separate forum for things people are asking for a friend.

askingforafriend.com is under construction but askingforafriendtalk.com is still available.

Success guaranteed!

I'm on board now. I come from Germany and want to learn more about bitcoin. A friendly "Hello!"   Smiley   to everyone here.

Willkommen an Board!

Before you rush to get started, you should learn the basics about Bitcoin and crypto so that you can avoid the many pitfalls that exist for beginners.
In case you don't know it yet, there is a lively German-speaking part of the forum where you can ask questions and participate in discussions at any time. Feel free to join https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=16.0
Unfortunately, it looks like OP has decided against continuing to post here, since it hasn't logged in anymore (last login September 19).
Of course I hope to be proven wrong, new active members aren't signing up very frequently right now.  Undecided

I have seen quite a few new members lately "promising" to be somehow active but they've never logged in again....

Exactly, they're hoping to get some merits for their post and be launched into bounty hunting right away. When it doesn't work out as planned, they're off again.

Thread overgeplaatst en up-to-date via deze link.

Laatste update 08/11/2020

Good to be reminded about the fact that once upon a time Greeks were actually working.

Or wait a minute. They had slaves doing the work for them, right?

Disclaimer: sincere apologies to my Greek friends. I'm visiting your wonderful country with your delicious cuisine at least once a year, but I just couldn't let that one slip.
655  Other / Meta / Re: The strict policy in Bitcointalk. on: September 27, 2020, 03:42:16 PM
I've heard this before:

Or forget about merit and focus on trading to earn money.

It looks like some people absolutely feel like posting the same advice every month:

Quote from: Laudanum
Go forth now and fill ya boots.

Or just learn to trade and earn 100x more in under 6 months.

Friendly suggestion: not sure if the website is still up to date and if your bounties / job offers are still active:

https://www.securypto.io/bountys/

If so, it might be interesting to put a thread in the Bounty section to attract some people, and it'd get you some extra visibility as well.
657  Other / Meta / Re: Paraphrased articles, without providing links to originals. on: September 27, 2020, 12:31:30 PM
So I see @F_Societys decided to ignore my friendly suggestion and he keeps doing the same thing, just a little bit adapted. I really don't understand how hard can it be  to share reference link and avoid all this, but I guess he wants to appear knowing more than he actually does so he willingly  chooses not to mention source.

Well, at least he can't say he wasn't warned about his behaviour. Many newbies didn't have that privilege, they were instantly reported and soon after banned.

Hello, I swear you will forgive me.
From now on, I will mention it even if I copy a word from a site.
Please take the negative rating from me. I am ready to improve this site.
I hope you forgive me and I try to publish the best articles. Embarrassed Embarrassed

I warned you friendly, but you replied that I should learn to read and how my statement upset you. And now I find you here begging in this thread.

Since it's Sunday, I'll restrain from further comments and just finish with this smiley which describes my feelings exactly:  Roll Eyes

658  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: September 27, 2020, 12:25:00 PM
Please ban user F_Societys!

Found this thread after noticing you [edit: lovesmayfamilis] just added bad trust on his profile.

Most of his posts were removed by the mods, but if you look at his post history, you'll notice there's absolutely a stark contrast between the good English quality of his OP articles and the lower quality of his "regular" replies, which makes the whole thing fishy as... well... fish.

I'm not saying you copy-pasted this post, but since it sounds quite as if you did, you should add the source to your article, if not you will be banned for plagiarism.
(...)
And this statement of yours upset me. Sad

Just do it gently, because even though I tried to formulate it friendly - him being quite new and all, he seems to be of the sensitive type anyway, the poor thing. Cool
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A woman has been arrested in the United States for hiring a killer with bitcoin on: September 27, 2020, 12:16:21 PM
I'm not saying you copy-pasted this post, but since it sounds quite as if you did, you should add the source to your article, if not you will be banned for plagiarism.

I have added the source. Sorry you did not read it:

According to coindesk Thirty-six-year-old Kristy Lynn Felkins has been summoned to court on charges of paying 12 bitcoins ($ 5,000 at the time) for trying to hire a killer to kill his ex-wife. The case is said to be related to another case involving the recruitment of a killer. It is worth noting that this killer was not hired in the end.

Also, I did not copy the text and turned it into an article.
And this statement of yours upset me. Sad

he means you should add the source link.
https://www.coindesk.com/nevada-woman-charged-in-bitcoin-murder-for-hire-as-a-mystery-hacker-again-turns-tipster

she ordered a hitman(s) in 2016. no wonder she paid 12 bitcoins which worth $5,000 at the time.

The essence of the problem is that your original articles are in English of high quality, but your replies are low quality posts in English of moderate quality. That's extremely suspicious.

Also, your shitposts get reported by me and deleted by the mods, yet you continue to post the exact same "yes oh my gawd you're so rite" replies to every single person who posts a reply here. If you wish to post such childish stuff, I'd suggest you start your own forum or a blog or whatever, instead of polluting this community which is doing everything every day over and over to keep spammers and shitposters like you out of here.

So quit whining about being upset and delete your posts from today voluntarily, instead of letting other people waste their time and energy reporting and deleting them, until eventually you get banned.

You've got the only existing Wings W4 on earth, and now it seems it's not even working. This is hilarious. Grin
