642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quick Survey: why do you specifically use crypto to gambooool ? on: January 15, 2020, 06:03:45 PM
Hello Degens

I am doing a little research on WHY people are betting /gambling online with btc/crypto from various countries/states worldwide, and was hoping bitcointalk members  can be of some assistance.
I would specifically like to know (if you happen use crypto to gamble online) why you do so.

eg is it because you:
  • can pay Less vig in some cases?
  • wider game selection can gamble on games like minesweeper, paper rock scissors and other novelty games?
  • "provably fair" games
  • cannot bet in your current location
  • crypto sites might offer markets unavailable elsewhere
  • others ?

any info appreciated, if you can give me your state/country that would be helpful too for context.
I will happily publish the results of the survey later ITT if anyone is interested/cares.

Thanks

To tell you truth, i did very little gambling with my credit card online. The main reason was that i was not secure that by using my card, it could be misused by the site itself and giving the card informational and details is not secure. With bitcoin, it is very easy to deposit and withdraw funds to and from the gambling sites. Crypto has made gambling very easy to play.

Congratulations to the 10 Lucky Winners of last week’s lottery round 241.

-snip

Claim your free lottery tickets at FreeBitco.in to participate in the upcoming lottery round this Sunday.

It's great that even if the user 16446041 bought all of his tickets, it worked out good for him in the end. He's a lucky guy who spent a bit over 0.01 BTC on tickets and won almost 0.35 BTC. Even with more than 1 million tickets his chance of taking the 1st place in the lottery was just 0.4%. So, I'd say, it was still a stroke of good luck. Congrats to whoever it is!

not bad huh! it paid off for those million tickets bought. never had the chance to win even the lowest prize til now. he got lucky on that round.
btw, the round 1 winner got about 22BTC, whoever that person is, i bet he's enjoying his piña colada somewhere...

User 16446041 tickets are way too more than any other contestant and he was lucky to got paid for his risk. I remember sometimes back a gambler wasn't able to win anything despite that he also bought a lot of tickets. Its is Luck game.  Wink

645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be a bullish sign as halving approaches? on: January 14, 2020, 05:19:35 PM
I would not count on that really but certainly the approach of bitcoin halving is definitely going to cause at least a slight rise in the price of bitcoin. The reason why most people share similar sentiments that halvings bring about an increase in the price of bitcoin is what has been happening in the history. Hopefully we can see a huge spike in the price of bitcoin as mass adoption of bitcoin and news about halving nears.
It is too early to say that we could have a bull run or bull market this time especially this year when halving will soon too happen, we should not jump into conclusions but yes I think little by little we would feel the halving by a slightly changes in price of bitcoin, and alts. As what we can see it is too often we feel an increase these days

Sometimes you have to raise the risk in the life and if we invest in bitcoins now, this would be a good time to take the risk because 80% of the chances are that bitcoin will move up after and near the halving. I think bitcoin is still the best investment and i would urge everyone to invest some amount in bitcoins as soon as possible while bitcoin is cheap.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Truth That Will Eventually Kill Bitcoin on: January 13, 2020, 06:04:51 PM
In the below 6-minute video, it is explained why Bitcoin is a fraud where a gift record is falsely presented to the public as a market item.

https://youtu.be/LlPwmW4XphE

I do not even waste by time clicking on this video or you want to get views by posting it here.

Bitcoin can never be killed and if you think it is a ponzi fraud than it is better you to leave from here and join a bank full of paper notes.  Cheesy

This will be risky if you participate without escrow the funds.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not being sold for $24,000 in Iran on: January 12, 2020, 10:00:15 AM
Upon checking the data again from localbitcoins, i find that the in ads from Iran, the location is written as turkey ? So it basically turkey buying/selling the bitcoins at 24000$ and not the Iranians on localbitcoins ?

I honestly never heard of Archie Karas before today at all, just checked who he is and what he did and what that person achieved was insane, honestly I have never seen or heard anyone go that big from that small then back to small again so frequently, the amount of money we are talking about here could literally help 40-50 people to have a luxurious life in my nation and never have to work again in their entire life, hell you can pay about 17 thousand peoples debts with it, and what did the dude do? Just gambled it more.

I have seen people wager like 50 bitcoins here but that looks like it is basically nothing at all compared to what this Archie guy did, that looks like it is not even at the same level as him. It is more like betting 50 bitcoin bets on primedice back to back many times.

Just check the history of this guy as he was poor guy who later worked in  Los Angeles restaurant. He ran away from home at the small age of 15. He was extremely lucky to gamble and won upto $2,000,000  Roll Eyes. Wasn't that amount enough for him ? Why he did took more risk and lost all of his earnings  Huh

Images can be altered, any Blockchain evidence would work great .
I do not care if you beleive me or not..This thug should know that he stole from the wrong guy.And i will find him

That's the spirit. Do let us know when you bust them.  Smiley
652  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 18bet is a scam they do not pay. on: January 11, 2020, 08:23:22 AM
You have already created a post   Stay away from 18bet.com, lock that one and you need to provide evidence in the form of images / chat proofs etc so that we know how they scam you and you are not just making up stories to give them a bad name.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling effect to husband and wife on: January 11, 2020, 08:00:05 AM
if we hide something from wife will ultimately have a negative impact on a relationship, especially about finances which I think is very sensitive. I'm sure most wives will forbid their husbands to gamble because they don't want to take big risks that can lead to addiction and even end up divorcing.

Taking your partner in confidence is the best thing in such cases. If you play gambling without telling anyone, then it will be a shock for the family when they see you lose big amount or surprise if you manage to win big amount. Also Husband should not be addicted in gambling and give proper time and finance to the wife and kids.
654  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Stay away from 18bet.com on: January 11, 2020, 07:35:56 AM
The site is not common here in the forum but nevertheless it is good whenever a scam site is reported so you warn other people to not play there or they will get scammed too.If 18bet is a fiat gambling website chances are low that many members here are playing there. However as you have been suggested click Move Topic and move this to the Scam Accusations section of the forum.

Who told you that 18bet.com is a fiat betting site ? If you see the payment options you will find bitcoin along with other payment methods.
https://18bet.com/en/my/cashier
However, i cannot say anything about the authenticity of the site as i  have never used it.

657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you go to blockchain/crypto events? on: January 10, 2020, 10:00:45 AM
I really like to go to blockchain and crypto-related events but my location limits me, it is quite hard to travel since I live in province and most of these events happen in major cities which is really far from my town. The knowledge you can get from this kind of event is huge and will help you to have a better understanding of crypto and blockchain.

Once an international block chain event happened in my city but i did not attend it because i was busy in some family event. I think there should be more and more such awareness event which will spread the bitcoin awareness among the people. Every government who supports crypto should think seriously on this suggestion.
The more the people will take interest in such events, it would mean people are interested in digital currency.
658  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: January 10, 2020, 09:04:05 AM
Call me bullish.... Just placed a bet on 1000,000 USD for Bitcoin price 2020. How many of you think it will make it to that level this year?

1000,000 USD ?  or you have put few zero extras while predicting the price of bitcoin in 2020.
Believe me you will lose your bet. That's all i can say about your bet.  Smiley

50,000 USD will also be very hard for the situation right now. As long as mass of the 2018 adopters cannot get out in profit, new money will not flow in. Imaging of a case where many guys have alot of cash sitting in their bank accounts just to wait for any investment opportunity, but they have a friend that joined in 2018 ATH period and still deep in red...as long as this guy is still in red these "alot of cash" guys will not simply put in his money. You will need to see Bitcoin price go up above 20k and stay around that range for long enough to let those ATH buyers get out in profit, only then the hype can begin again.

Even 50,000 USD bitcoin price is hard to achieve this year. If you want a safe bet you can bet that bitcoin will reach 20,000$ by the end of this year. This will be very much possible because bitcoin prices reaches the all time high after every halving and it can continue to do so this year also.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Counted Or Estimate All Your Losses And.... on: January 10, 2020, 08:04:07 AM
i never estimate my losses because i know it will only turn me down, what i am concern mostly is the amount i won and that brings me positive feelings.

i know a man that writing in all his gambling activities, from losses and winnings and he tells me that it made him sick sometimes checking how much he losses while the amount of winning is very little compared to others.
Yes true once you think your loses you feel weak and turn down so its been better to us not to estimatr our loses. Just gamble and have some fun so that every time yoy lose you don't be sad and you think its okay because you have fun and feel happy to gamble. Don't waste time to think and estimated your loses.

This can be true of anyone who have a lot of money. If you have limited amount of money to gamble, you will think and calculate your winning and losses all the time, even if you are not playing gambling. I know it will hurt you if you are in a loss, but there is no other way for the poor gamblers. They have small amount of money and they cannot afford the loses in gambling.
660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin will move up if there is a war with Iran on: January 10, 2020, 05:20:57 AM
Well, why America and Iran will be at war in the first place? Perhaps there's a problem that I'm not updating with the news due to being too busy in school work.

Well, that's a long story of why there can be a war at the first place. When one country is involing is terriosts activities and does not stop on verbal warnings, then a war is the only solution.

Anyway, I don't think so that Bitcoin's price might be affected if war really emerges then Bitcoin's prices will drop significantly, but I'm not so sure because we won't know what's going to happen if a war breaks out, I'm sure if war might start affecting the whole world, but we don't want that to happen so we should hope war won't happen again.

Opposite of that has happened so far. The more the news of war, the more the bitcoin price has gone up
