661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tron's Justin Sun Offers $1 Million Bounty For Twitter Hackers on: July 19, 2020, 03:34:13 AM
I feel like this is a bait for the hackers to come to the light. If they try to claim that bounty then people will know who they are, and they will not be able to just walk away as nothing happens after what they did.

The Bounty is som serious money, but the hackers are not that stupid to sho their faces now.

Those hackers might not snitch each other but it time, they'll get caught anyway. This bounty just made the process faster. I bet the authorities or some agency are backtracking the wallet to see where it is created or if there was any transactions or movements before the hacking.

It will be pretty interesting though to see if Justin Sun will really give the reward (let's say some person that the hackers trust snitch them just to get the reward).
662  Local / Pamilihan / Re: BABALA: Twitter Hacked Incident! Don`t Click on: July 16, 2020, 02:33:53 AM

663  Other / Off-topic / Re: Twitter hackers are So low IQ. - Many Twitter Account Hacked on: July 16, 2020, 02:24:46 AM
This is the example of F.U.D/F.O.M.O news it isn't new and for sure hackers had that idea once in awhile but it isn't as it seems.
First even if they could post it or hack some of those account there would be a lot of news and they could only last for awhile so it the panic would only be for a short time I think the market wouldn't easily collapse because of it.
People know how to check the news if it is true or just to manipulate the price.

It's quite a giant news let me tell you. Even BBC news source are reporting this hacking incident. Also, a Youtuber made a commentary about Elon Musk asking for doubling Bitcoin which is funny because he related it to a runescape scamming and how dumb people can fall to even with this classic scam.

Ingat-ingat tayo mga kabayan. Nung nabasa ko yung thread ni goaldigger about sa Forage ay may naalala akong 2 pang project na winarningan din ng SEC: RCashOnline, The Saint John. source: http://www.sec.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/2020PressRelease_SEC-warns-against-Forsage-other-schemes.pdf

665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin market continues to gain momentum on: July 15, 2020, 04:15:10 AM
Altcoins are constantly falling or rising in price and it will always be so, but so far it’s invisible that altcoins will start to grow to those heights that were a couple of years ago, namely when Ethereum was worth 1k$, so we are all waiting when altcoins will show good growth.
That is right the market has always been unstable, cause of that the price of cryptocurrencies is increasing or decreasing. It is so normal, it was really better than nowadays. l mean as you above mentioned ATH of ETH was 1.448.18$. But it is really so bad today, 4 times lower than ATH price. l hope it will change until the end of the year.

It's not bad to be honest, we are just sitting at the true price that ETH should be at its current development. The only reason why we reached that ATH was because of the hype and scam of 2017. To be honest, the altcoins are doing great and it is increasing even with the time of pandemic. The anticipated ETH update might be one of the cause or the talk of the town chainlink.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC out of top 10 coins on: July 14, 2020, 04:16:43 PM
I think it's very difficult if Litecoin is out of rank 10, Litecoin has fans and high volume on each exchanger besides litecoin has a fast network and very cheap fees, factors that make litecoin will survive

i did not mean that LTC will not survive, it will probably, but will be out of top 10, as the trend continue, it was on position two, then lower and lower, and now it is on position nine, and it will be out from the top 10 in the future, probably out of top 20 in a year or so, since there is a lot of good projects that are increasing in value

It will probably stay in the top list for at least a minimum of 1 year though because of how it was being used as a low fee alternative for Bitcoin and it has a huge community supporting it. There's also still developments going on since the developer itself announced it (I found a news souce here, read with care). If they continue to deliver more development to the project then LTC would still stay at the top.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin.com uses bitcoin cash as default currency on: July 13, 2020, 11:20:02 AM
What's the point of a bitcoin fork anyway? I had heard that it's centralized too.
To make a pump and dump coin for the newbie to fall to. Just look at how confusing this Bitcoin.com is and Bitcoin Cash. Using the name of Bitcoin to lure new investors into thinking that they are investing to Bitcoin itself. Some might even think that Bitcoin is the technology and Bitcoin Cash is the currency because of the word cash in it.
668  Local / India / Re: Cashaa hacked. 336 BTC Stolen. on: July 12, 2020, 04:01:49 AM
My question is, are they fully oriented on how to use Bitcoin or cryptocurrency?

That is a huge amount that something you trust web wallet and you know that you didn't own the private key of your wallet. Sounds strange for me, how this comes up like this.

I checked that transaction of scammed address, it seems like 336 bitcoin has been divided into small amounts within different addresses, the last 85 amount of Bitcoin landed on this transaction address. It seems like the hacker didn't cashout yet Bitcoin into fiat.

Most likely the hackers are trying to hold it for now and staying cool for now. They'll eventually cash it out to fiat.

I've never heard this exchange before to be honest. Maybe they are trying to exit scam by making this fiasco? because any developers knowledgeable enough on cryptocurrency or Bitcoin itself knows that web wallet is not a safe way to store Bitcoin.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Dogecoin prices crash if TikTok continues to get banned? on: July 12, 2020, 03:36:30 AM
it will and it has! The influencer just enjoyed the bump and sold their coins!

BTW: USA won't ban tiktok since there are many big influencers live on it!
and also it's just political reason, there is no more private to steal since Google, Facebook, Iphone have stolen them all!

What in the world are you saying? there's no correlation between doge coin and Tiktok. doge coin exist way before Tiktok and the only thing that tie them is a MEME, a meme that will become stale in a few days or so. In fact, that meme is already dying because it's an absurd way to gather investors and dumpers already got their profit and correction already in place.
670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TikTok PUMPS Dogecoin Cryptocurrency | ÐOGE going to $1?!!! on: July 10, 2020, 12:38:19 PM

I expected this. A small pumped was only triggered because of a meme in the internet coupled by a bunch of facebook post. I don't really know why some people expected this to pump more than a cent. It's not like Tiktok is a platform full of investors or entrepreneurs. Tiktok is a platform full of teenagers and kids who probably doesn't even know how to do their taxes.

In my opinion, pumping and hyping doge coin like this will make cryptocurrency something of a scam to others.
some people might think like that. but some others can benefit from what has happened. pumps and dumps aren't that what happened so far in the crypto market and we all enjoy it for profit.

The only people who will benefit from this are the early birds and the person who made that meme in the first place. Well that meme might have publicized doge coin or cryptocurrency to others but we will also get a backlashed from the unsuspecting victims of this hyped pump and dump event.
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 10, 2020, 12:27:01 PM
I disagree with you. It has a huge effect since many people have heard about this news,

Even if you think that those involved do not know that it is a cryptocurrency, since this news was published to the public, they already know it by now. And if this kind of ponzi or scheme will increase, the adoption that you are talking about might not happen anymore

The news  only pertains to those investment companies, not the whole cryptocurrency. What they will understand is that this companies are scams and the name of the companies will get tarnished, not cryptocurrency or specifically Bitcoin. SEC only warns about those unregistered or illegal businesses. It's not like illiterate to cryptocurrency will understand what Bitcoin is or cryptocurrency is anyway. Investment scams are pretty common here in the Philippines, having cryptocurrency involve means nothing to people who doesn't know what cryptocurrency is.

If they were to be guided and educated about simple things, people will understand that cryptocurrency is not a scam or something like a ponzi scam.

The news that the OP mentioned is a website that only crypto enthusiast or at least investors will go to anyway. Take note, what the news was talking about are illegal and unregistered business. The title of the article is just misleading. Read the actual source.

Also, only few will get to see this company anyway. This type of companies are not really advertised well to the masses. Most will just stay away from this kind of investment, even if cryptocurrency is involve or not.

Adoption will continue to rise as Philippines is a crypto-friendly country but is strict against fraud and illegal businesses. The country accepts any crypto related companies as long as they are legal and is registered. You might not know but there are stores, cafes and other businesses that accepts Bitcoin as payment for the public to use in the Philippines.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TikTok PUMPS Dogecoin Cryptocurrency | ÐOGE going to $1?!!! on: July 10, 2020, 11:59:08 AM
Just because it pumped we already think it would reach $1, are we serious?

I think the correction has already started, it's interesting what price it will land from this dump.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dogecoin/

Owchhh that's a hard dump, I expected the prices would go little bit higher because people yelled tiktok has 800 million users. Cheesy Bup by weak hands will never work, someone has to bump by injecting huge money if they really want to make DOGE to be bullish but with current stagnant market state it is highly impossible.I can feel what will be the mindset of people who had invested on doge due to this challenge. Tongue

I expected this. A small pumped was only triggered because of a meme in the internet coupled by a bunch of facebook post. I don't really know why some people expected this to pump more than a cent. 673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 09, 2020, 03:42:02 AM
To be honest, there's not going to be a huge effect on the cryptocurrency here in the Philippines because most people that is involve in those businesses doesn't even know that it is a cryptocurrency. Maybe a little negativity but it won't affect the adoption of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in the Philippines.

The thing about the news is that this warnings are directed to scam cryptocurrency which we all know is a lot around the world. The news said that 3 businesses are illegal, due to lack of license and legitimacy, are being publicized by the government to make people stop investing in this illegal cryptocurrency business. This is pretty common in the Philippines even without the involvement of cryptocurrency.

Have the Philippines ever been kind of a significant place for the crypto world? Well anyway, this is a sign from one more government. All watchdogs desire to grab the crypto space and make it centralized and legal or prohibited at least

Although Philippines might not be in the top list, there are still cryptocurrency users there and it's growing because of how the SEC accepts legitimate businesses that involves cryptocurrency.
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it risky to invest in new crytpo coin/tokens??? on: July 09, 2020, 03:24:57 AM
There's always a risk in every investment but what matters is how you approach it. But the thing about new coins and tokens is that they are all the same thing. They don't innovate but instead copy another project and change some things. Most new coins and tokens tend to fail even if the ICO succeed so it's really not recommended to invest in a new project. If you are into pump and dumping new coins, then you'll just fail miserably. Unless you have a lot of networks and connection and always ahead of the news.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin tiktok challenge Hype. on: July 08, 2020, 11:02:12 AM
The one creating the hype must have purchased a large amount of dogecoin and now wants to dump them on unsuspecting investors.
I don't feel any sympathy to the people who would get butthurt for not being able to get a profit from the hype as it would be a lesson to those lazy sheep.
People should not come to crypto without knowing it. They should at least have some idea about the working principle and economics before jumping in to invest.

I am seeing a classic Bitconnect scam right here but with real and reputable coin. This is really bad to be honest. Ones investors starts dumping those coins in the market to those people who doesn't even know what cryptocurrency is, there will be news around the world on how cryptocurrency is a scam again. This kind of hype will not last long though.
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brave browser CEO apologizes for automatically adding affiliate links to cryptoc on: July 05, 2020, 09:48:34 AM
There isn't really anything malicious here in the article though, it doesn't categorized cryptocurrency as evil either. But it was really huge to see that a browser that blocks ads and prevent tracks are themselves putting ads and tracking users using an affiliate link. Maybe it wasn't suppose to work that way? maybe there was a bug in their code?

You should read the article. The development team of Brave placed their affiliate link to profit from their users without informing them. This is a behavior similar to scammers.

I did read the article. You probably did not understand but my point was pertaining to the article, that the article didn't wrote this in a malicious way and they also didn't portray Bitcoin as bad but it was the browser who did.
You should keep in mind that the browser itself is meant to generate revenue for the people or company behind Brave. There was no bug and they originally intended to put their referral link in the code without the user's knowledge. They were simply caught and heavily criticized. So the only smart way  for them to get out of that mess is to apologize.

The writer of that article doesn't have to present what happened in malicious way. His job is to present the fact that Brave injected ref links to profit from their unsuspecting users. That supports bbc.reporter's statement "This is the type of act that causes everyone outside of this community to judge that everything in the cryptospace is a scam".

I know. I did not say that this incident of the Brave Browser doesn't make support that statement "This is the type of act that causes everyone outside of this community to judge that everything in the cryptospace is a scam". I only said that the article or the article writer did not portray cryptocurrency as bad or malicious, they only reported something that the Brave Browser did.

I do not support Brave Browser for what they did and it is indeed a bad move for them to do this.

679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm new here,what is altcoin on: July 04, 2020, 02:18:19 AM
Both are cryptocurrency but have different tiers. In terms of influence, let me explain. Bitcoin is the king, altcoins is the servants. When Bitcoin makes a move, altcoins will follow it. While if an altcoin makes a move, it will barely have an influence over Bitcoin. But if a lot of altcoins made a move, it will have a greater effect on Bitcoin.

Ethereum falls under altcoin.

You are in crypto since 2016 and don't know what's altcoin  Sad

I'm not acting 'violently' as you say, i just find question stupid plus a simple Google search will give you the answer.

To be fair, he did not say that he is into crypto since 2016, he only said that he heard Bitcoin and ETH since 2016. Though google might have been an easier way, maybe he wants the interaction of the members here? I don't know why he asked just now when his first post was June 10, 2020.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is the future of projects with gold-based tokens? on: July 03, 2020, 05:32:14 AM
That only happens when investors don't try to research a little bit. Legit projects have audits, certifications, licence that can be checked 24/7 in an actual and legit Gold vault.
Maybe because they don't want to store them in their house or to store them in a safe vault because of fees? Because legit Gold-Backed Projects tend to have small fees when compared to vaults. Also, it's easy to buy and sell this way and it's anonymous.

Might aswell buy air since you are buying non-existent gold. Try exchanging your shit token to gold and ship it to your house maybe you can tickle your local government cronies.

You are buying their token equivalent to the price of gold and the stored gold in the vault. You are not directly buying the actual physical gold itself. Also, It's like buying Ethereum but it's not physically existing right? then might as well buy air as you are saying instead of buying Ethereum. Also, that's the risk you take for the sake convenience and anonymity just like the risk traders taking when they submit KYC to Centralized exchange instead of using Decentralized one for the sake of convenience.

FYI, you can actually buy air and it is used in a lot of things.
