661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 16, 2014, 06:02:14 PM
I think we should try the multi-pool idea first.

"From the Blackcoin blog:
As you all know Proof of Work has ended more then two weeks ago. Mining BlackCoins directly is not possible anymore, and the only way to get BlackCoins at this moment is by buying them.

This leaves us with a whole community of miners that would love to get into BlackCoin but can’t. As a community we came together to solve this problem with an innovative idea not yet seen in the altcoin world:

A multipool designed specifically to mine altcoins and payout in BlackCoin. A quote from the developer of the multi pool:
"The multipool works in a very simple way, you point your miners to our server and we make sure you get paid as much as possible from your precious hashes. When you mine with us, we trade the altcoins we mine into BTC, then buy BC at the best possible price, this creates buy pressure for BC. This translates into one thing, BCs will be worth more. Simple as that." -RadioStatic

This means that, as long as the multipool has any hashrate pointed to it, the miners will create buying pressure on the market. Due to the low interest and thus inflation this will directly translate in the price of BlackCoin rising. What you mine today, will be worth more tomorrow! The more hashrate pointed to the pool, the faster BlackCoin’s value will rise.
BCMultiPool.com will start their operations this coming Friday, although it will be in an open beta. We highly recommend you to add back-up pools to your configurations if anything goes a-miss during the beta period. Also, every BC address and IP will be limited to 10MH/s for the beta period, so the servers and the backend can be tested.

Servers will be hosted in europe at first, but there are plans to open at least 2 more in servers: one on the east-coast of the US and one on the west-coast.
If you want to know more, head over to http://bcmultipool.com"

I would be in total favor of this. So basically it's like a multipool, but instead of converting it to BTC, it would convert it into PMC? That would be pretty great. PMC could be scrypt mined.

What do we need to do to make this happen?
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 16, 2014, 05:45:44 PM
What is the specification of the new fork?

This is just an idea that's being thrown around. In my opinion the fork should run alongside PMC, and should be used to inflate the total amount of coins 5-fold for this new coin. This would give every holder or investor in PMC the ability to also have PremiumCoins. It could be treated sort of like an IPO, but using PMC as the investment coin. So not only would you get PMC, which will still functional as it always does, but you can copy the wallet over to PremiumCoin and receive a stake in that, too. So what you would do is announce the new coin as an IPO, and instead of paying the dev, you would buy PMC. This PMC then becomes your stake in PremiumCoin as well, as you can copy the wallet over to the new coin. After the fork it will be impossible to do this, so that would be your window to buy PMC before the deadline block.

For me, there should be 2.5 million coins at least. The block rewards should be quite low. I'd also like to see the coin be Scrypt-based. Not SHA-256.

The alternative is to make the coin 21 million total supply, however you would then have to find a way to make your PMC stake increase at least 21 times, leaving the other 10.5 million coins available to miners. Not sure how that would work.

Again, these are just ideas.

10 whole DeleteCoins.

Livin' the dream.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: March 16, 2014, 05:28:06 PM
Do coinmarket.io really have tens of millions of USD worth of BTC?  Undecided

When you think the site is only a couple of months old..
there was link to their wallets and  2  of them with ~40 000 btcs each ...

Yeah, I converted that into USD. I couldn't believe it. That's an insane amount of money.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE][ANN]DeleteCoin - Let the deleting begin! on: March 16, 2014, 05:26:46 PM
Giving away the DeleteCoin I mined in the first few minutes, because I refuse to support a scam. The developer is admittedly pocketing HALF OF THE PREMINE. First to PM me with their address gets them.
Anyone? Free DeleteCoin

DGNQtLUzTgkk34a6zJpe4RXtnzoU6PYXGQ

I'd be glad to take them off your hands.

We are just getting started.... lets not give up yet.... however, using PMC as a seed to some sort of spin-off coin like protoshares is to bitshares is interesting.... in fact this could be announced and bring interest to PMC currently...

This PMC2 could exist at the same time as PMC but have some sort of innovation that does not exist...

I am going to write a 'Brief History of Crypto' and post it here.... and I really do have an innovation I will introduce at the end...
A sort of IPO coin that in addition to being a 'currency' is actual shares in something.... That Dinar-IQD guy gave me a strange idea...

One downside of my idea is a sort of centralization that requires trust/transparency that may be hard to attain...

In short this coin would be sold on an exchange for BTC ( Like IDQ is attempting to do now ) that is then invested in places like 'Just-Dice', 'Rapidballs' and 'mcxFEE' and whatever we can find... then it is a currency as any other however it can be traded back in for BTC+interest after a one year vesting period, or if not vested just the BTC only back... the vesting period could be 365 days from the birth of the coin, each and every year....Almost like shares at cryptostocks but you get to keep them..... this is an idea that needs juggling....

The plus side is this currency would be 'backed by BTC' the downside is that it would have to be managed...

I do not want PMC to be destroyed or converted...  but I would like PMC holders an easy way in.... in the short term people would buy up PMC to get an early share in....

Let me work out my 'history'.

No no. You wouldn't have to lose PMC or convert it. Because the new coin would be forked from PMC, you would simply create a copy of your wallet. You keep your PMC, but will also turn into Premium Coins, so you would have both.

I'm not really in favour of any sort of centralisation.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE][ANN]DeleteCoin - Let the deleting begin! on: March 16, 2014, 05:01:24 PM

Ah, back up. Great. I was going to switch pools, but I'd rather mine with Poolerino, as I've used the pool before.

Good stuff.  Smiley

Dev has been a little quiet though.

Sorry!  Life...  Grin

We'll have a new wallet out Tuesday with some really cool features I think you guys will like!  Focus has been on that since it's been outdated for a while now and we had to find a new, awesome dev.

This is why I haven't sold a single coin. These idiots dumping 100k+ EBT are going to lose out.
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digitalcoin Dev ROBBED! on: March 16, 2014, 03:55:00 PM
There is no motive. Any other month in 2013 would have made more sense. He would be insanely crazy to dump coins at such a low price when it was 30k satoshis only a few weeks earlier.

There's plenty of motives. Maybe he thought the coin was losing value and this was his chance. Maybe he'd been thinking about it for a while but didn't have a plausible cover story.

Saying he didn't have motive is a very weak defence.

Again, conjecture, but there are 101 reasons he might have decided to dump the coins.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 16, 2014, 12:05:57 PM
Nullu, Creditcoin, ecuamobi, Mivexil, shanent.

You guys look at this site:  http://cryptofury.com/investors/

This is the crypto giveaway guy...

Lets get involved....

Ads for 1 satoshi a day right now....  he is looking for investors... like for 0.01 BTC type stuff...   he is all over the twitterverse...

This is IT....

Lets do this...

Seems like a fun project, though I don't see it exactly benefiting PMC... just another sell-and-run giveaway. Besides, I could use some dev-hours myself Wink The ads might be nice, but my HYIP just took its bags and I'm left with PMC only, which I'm quite reluctant to sell.

What we really need, I think, is a novel idea, something that can't be done with BTC. A PMC-exclusive Wink

The major issue with PMC is distribution in my opinion; when there is 100 people with the ability to dump and destroy the market, no one is willing to risk investing significantly.

At this time I don't think theres a real fix aside from waiting for all the big stake holders to sell and it get distributed on exchanges.
i've been thinking of ideas, and this is the best I could come up with:

If we want to get some real value out of PMC fast, maybe make it a phase 1 of a new coin, that promises larger distribution, maybe stick to the 21M coin count as BTC, and automate the distribution somehow. You could make PMC the Proof of Burn Buy in, but limiting people to X amount of buy ins each. In this way the remaining PMC would rise in value as more and more people burn to buy in. I would call the new coin PremiumCoin and keep the PMC naming scheme. PremiumCoin could then be used to continue discovering the future of bitcoin, on a real to life scale, and the 'Premium' nomenclature could be from a promise ot try new things first; become the beta testing/ proving ground coin of new bitcoin/altcoin enhancements before other mainstream coins implement them.

If you don't want to completely kill off PMC (I don't), only allow 210,000 PMC Proof of burn buy ins of the new coin, so that the remaining 280,000 can continue on, and will benefit from the giant price increase, publicity, and adoption. doing this will also allow the remaining large stake holders to benefit from investing early, and theres still enough coin left to not really effect the original purpose and value of PMC.  The IPO could also be done in small phases to keep interest in PMC from dropping as soon as its over; only allow for the equivelent of 100 stakeholders to buy in a week or something.

I'd aim for no less than 1k original investors; 2.1k would be ideal =) make 100 PMC = 1000 PremiumCoin, the most any 1 person an POB for an initial stake.  That also leaves the opportunity for more than 2.1k stakeholders. credit has already distributed the original PMC 100%, I think people would trust him for an IPO like this.

The original PMC would then continue on being the "Future of bitcoin Revealed" and the new PMC would become "The possibilities of  Bitcoin Revealed" as it focuses on possible future enhancements.
Obviously some naming issues if we keep both coins alive. PremiumCoin could be PMC+ (anyone ever use a special character in the naming of coin? Any reason it isn't possible? =D)

I totally agree with you... it is just like bitcoin testnet. PMC community have nothing to offer to the cryptouniverse as of now...

I wouldn't have anything against forking PMC, and having two entirely separate coins. Anyone who is in on PMC before the fork can simply buy in PMC and copy their wallet.dat to the new coin. That would be the buy in phase of the new coin.

If anything it would also boost PMC's profile, as PMC would become a legitimate IPO buy in for the new coin. Give people enough time to buy their PMC, and then they can copy their wallet over to the new coin. They'll both have PMC and this new coin. Original holders will benefit, and so will buyers of PMC before the new coin is released.

Rather than overly complicate this, simply make the new coin a 2.5 million cap, and let people buy in PMC before the coin is released. This would make anyone's PMC 5 times smaller than the total cap, which would be quite a fair proportion. Let the rest of the coin simply be mineable with low block rewards. Perhaps 1 coin per block with no halving.

At the end of the day, you will have two rare coins in your possession. PMC's price would rise, more people would hold the coin, and it would be the launching platform of Premium Coin.

I quite like the idea. Technically not difficult, and would really be a huge deal.

Premine and Premium, side by side.

Dumped down to 41 Satoshi

What in the actual hell? There are going to be some very sorry dumpers when some pumper gets their hands on EBT.

Just don't understand the mentality of dumping it that cheaply. 250 mill total supply, at 41 Satoshi. Ripe for the profit taking. I didn't want to see EBT manipulated like this, but the price will increase again. Someone's playing the market.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: March 16, 2014, 12:10:37 AM
Is Maxcoin still a coin? we know that it was a shitcoin from the start, but are there still people trying to work on this shitcoin...

Why did Maxcoin not hire the Klondike coin team? At least they are delivering some nice results...

Can't really compare a great Dev Team like the team behind KDC with the jokers that launched Maxcoin. I said early on in this thread that the bubble would burst. Why anyone thought the rules of altcoins wouldn't apply to Maxcoin is beyond me. I very well suspect many knew this coin was going to flop, but pumped it for all it was worth.

It's a race to the bottom, now.

Nothing to worry about. Max or not, the community is big enough, what will happen is a community take over and Max Keiser or the 2 Devs (students) would have nothing to say about.
Fork/Checkpoint needed.

I'd be quite happy with that. I would rally for Maxcoin to be succesful, provided Max Keiser and the incompetent developers couldn't profit from it.
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digitalcoin Dev ROBBED! on: March 16, 2014, 12:04:04 AM
Agree with the others, why flip it and attack BCX, when he is addressing legitimate and perfectly reasonable concerns.

As EdwardWitten eloquently put it, the Digitalcoin Dev has the burden of proof. It's up to him to prove the coins were stolen. He hasn't done that.

We're supposed to trust that he didn't dump them himself? Whether he did or didn't is besides the point. Taking someone at their word for that, on these forums?

I don't blame anyone for jumping to conclusions. I won't, for now, but sometimes the naivety on these forums makes me want to bang my head against walls. Tell me, would you trust another person you didn't know not to sell 50 BTC worth of altcoins? (I have no idea how much the DigitalCoins were worth, but just replace the amount of BTC with whatever you consider a large sum of money to be)

The Dev may very well be telling the truth, but you can't get defensive just because people on these forums refuse to take someone at their word alone.

I'll admit I got MaxCoin wrong. The lack of Max Keiser saying anything about it for awhile seems pretty clear to me.  Embarrassed

He mentioned it on his twitter 2 hours ago
https://twitter.com/maxkeiser

mmm Ya. It seems he's taking the price crash very seriously and is doing his best to help.  Tongue

I don't often swear on public forums, because I feel it's unbecoming, but Max Keiser is a fucking joke.

I will keep on calling BS on that theft until Baritus provides the damn public address of the stolen wallets. Why. Would. You. Hide. That. Info. if you had nothing to hide? I think he's definitely dumping his own coins.

The reason he wont provide the public address is obvious.

The theft never happened.

Can anyone think of any other reason Baritus would not provide the public address?

~BCX~

trololololooser

Just provide a legit reason he won't provide the public address of the 500,000 DGC supposedly stolen and I might agree with you.

The reason is, if he provides the address we will all see a trail of him dumping his own coins.

That's why.

~BCX~

It's a perfectly legitimate question. The second sentence is conjecture, but yes it is highly questionable that the address isn't being posted.
