Big day for the gold bugs.

Yeah, it must feel nice seeing gold not even back above its Aug 2020 price. Back when bitcoin was ~$10k.

This is the sign everyone has been waiting for.

Engineered war by TPTB, planned for over a year now.

With the Covid "crisis" winding down, and $1T of free BBB printer go brrr money getting shot down in the Senate, the Fed needed another valid excuse to NOT raise interest rates in any meaningful way, so now they will pin it on the Ukraine invasion. In March, they may not raise rates at all now, or if they do it will be by 0.25 bp at most. Then they'll continue to cite the ongoing conflict to not raise rates again all year long.

Moar easy cheap fiat for the wealthy elites. The Wall Streeters are buying the fk out of this market dip rn.

The stonk market will slowly recover to be back in the black by year's end.

I put the btc price to be trading somewhere in the range of $45k-55k by year's end.

The article already says that the Canadian Govt is upset with Coinbase/Kraken.. both have operations (at least for now) in Canada..

Barbara Streisand effect.

That, along with the seizing or closer of personal bank accounts, is the single biggest advertisement for bitcoin that the Canadian govt could make.
686  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 23, 2022, 09:06:50 PM
For those of us who have been in bitcoin for a while it becomes difficult to shave off bitcoin during these dipping times, even if the BTCs might well be in considerable profits....

Getting older can make it more difficult to recover from anything, and I remember sometimes in my 20s that I would go for a run when I was extremely sick.. and I am not really sure if that was good for me, but the energy was there to be able to do it.

Oh also if you become bed-laden and you are in your 20s or 30s, frequently, you can build back muscle, but as you get older it becomes quite a bit more difficult to build back muscle.. some guys do take testosterone... but then that could interfere with your body's natural abilities to produce testosterone.. I have not tried anything like that so I am not speaking from personal experiences.. but I can see how it could become quite tempting to supplement in order to build and maintain muscle.. because sometimes you can ONLY exercise so much when you get older. believe it or not.. I am speaking from personal experience in that regard.

True. I was attending a gym for like 10 years and some guys were taking testosterone... well after some time your balls stop functioning and you only depend on your testosterone shots... it's a bit like chemical castration actually...

There were several 70+ guys visiting the gym I trained at and they were really beefy and fit and stuff but I have to say all of them usually disappeared after a really short time... my guess is a heart attack...  Sad

The issue with supplements and keeping your balls still working means dropping a load 7-10 times a week as part of your training.

male ejaculate has lots of testosterone in it.

read up on guys like babe ruth he ate tons of oysters and had many woman. thus he balanced his testosterone.

read up on Roger Clemons he used a young olympic girl  to drain himont a steady basis.

It kept him balanced and the gymnast got hormones to aid in her muscle building.

Lots of athletes do this.

Read about Arnold when he was Mr Universe steroid were legal and he was a big womanizer

1. Eat meat, fish, chicken, eggs, and drink whole milk, drink protein shakes.

2. Lift weights.

3. Fuck and/or jack off a lot.

4. DON'T take steroids or testosterone therapy.

There will be some of you that understand what I am talking about here, and others who will write me off as a "qanon" type.  IDGAF.

He's a controlled op.

Absolute bad actor.

I am still mixed on this.  I am not sure.  But it could be.

I am not mixed on whether or not he is an asset.  Just what side he is on.

Why do you guys think he's an "anything" other than just another Bitcoin enthusiast that likes to wax on prolifically about POW? From what I've read on his twitter stream, his posts are no more inciteful or knowledgeable than any other.

The frequency with which these labels - communism and fascism - get thrown around is absurd. It's as if anyone slightly left of centre gets slammed as a "communist"; anyone slightly right of centre gets slammed as a "fascist". This polarisation is potentially as dangerous as the ideologies concerned. Those terms are misunderstood, misused and mostly inaccurate these days in any case.

I quit this thread for a long time many years back when it was frequented by some racist asshole (was it Roach? Can't remember) who accused everyone and everything of being a zionist or a communist. Lots of Nazi references too (or was it the other way round? It doesn't really matter). Someone here made a very good point at that time, that the words "nazi", "fascist" and "communist" are used far more selectively and carefully in Europe, where there is a societal memory of the devastation caused by both ideologies. The flippancy with which these terms are now used elsewhere is a reflection of the lack of first-hand experience of these ideologies. And a reflection on lazy and immature thought processes.

Especially in US where, for example, the word "socialist" is thrown around with apparently no recognition of its true definition. And I now see Trudeau being called a fascist by some and a communist by others.

Those who think Trudeau is a communist will be in for a rude awakening if a real communist ever comes to power and starts asking them questions.

Those who think Trudeau is a fascist will be in for a rude awakening if a real fascist ever comes to power and starts asking them questions.

OT: perhaps bitcoin fixes this.

A few of us have already realized the truth a long time ago...

But sure, I whine a lot here.
I know.

You'll notice that the communist libtards here on WO don't whine about anything, because they actually like and agree with where things in the world are heading. The ol' "Well if it doesn't affect me personally, then it doesn't exist so there is no problem" defense.

And yet they embrace Bitcoin. 🤷 🤦

To all you boys and girls feeling bearish about Bitcoin rn, just remember...

The SEC didn't rush a shit ton of Bitcoin ETFs to all be approved in Nov-Dec 2021, just to have their wealthy establishment buddies invest in them just to LOSE money.

That's not how the Wall Street Richie Rich Club works. Ya' know, the one we're not a part of.

There is a reason for everything the SEC does. The insiders ALWAYS know what's coming ahead of the public by at least 6-12 months. Always.

The stonk market is getting closer to having this silly war thing in the Ukraine all priced in, the war they have been planning for a year or more. Then no more downity, only uppity.

Now put your big boy pants (or big girl panties) on and quit whining. Now is a great time to buy more btc.

Also, look over here! (at the Ukraine BS), don't look over there (at the China property market continuing to implode):

The American Revolutionary War did not start over unfair taxes, but rather because the Bank of England seized the money supply of the colonists and banned an American currency.

Not only is Bitcoin NOT fungible it is ABSOLUTELY NOT fungible from a pure mathematical aspect.  EVERY satoshi has a pedigree.  You can trace it's origin all the way to the coinbase it was initially realized in.  And you can see the trail of addresses it is passed through to wherever it currently rests.

Before you get all mad at me, and Batslap me... I am NOT making a case for a shitcoin.  I am just being honest about a feature of bitcoin that we need to come to grips with, and the sooner we do the better.

Careful there, brother - you're deviating from the anointed canon. You might be drawn and quartered over the coals.

Yea, yeah.  I know.  I do try to respect this thread's bias (or basic thesis), and agree with it for the vast most part.  AND I think privacy in bitcoin is VERY IMPORTANT to fight for.  So I bring it up trying to speak as little for the one shitcoin I like... but of course that shitcoin comes up because well... it is doing something important.  Buy again, I try to avoid stirring that up in here very much, lol... I may have overstepped a little this time.  Ah well.

Don't listen to jbreher. He is wrong of course, as usual.

Arguing for more privacy in Bitcoin, which you were doing, is completely fine here. Most would agree. And I don't think anyone would protest if more privacy functionality made its way into Bitcoin.

-but-

Arguing here that some forked shitcoin created by either Roger/Jihan or CSW has actual value, like jbreher likes to do, is completely asinine. The market has spoken on that.

Big difference.

UN police ?  what are you smoking? green guys are usually the SQ (Quebec provincial police), in that video just seems like the fully kitted out Ottawa police judging by the accent.  They didnt even used tear gas.
They pepper sprayed some people and said "sorry we had to use pepperspray".
They seperated protesters with the cavalry slowly and people just stood there, like yeah good luck holding the line against a horse.

This was the nicest and most patient protest busting action i've seen, ever.

For reference, this is what they usually do in Canada: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8lB9ThlZLg or https://youtu.be/YVU4lt5xk1A?t=69
oh and tons of tear gas and rubber bullets.  good memories.

It's always good to know that we are at a point in our world when peaceful protests have an expiration date. A week or two at most, before the establishment comes in and says "Ok wrap it up, time to arrest you now without cause or provocation. Or beat you. Or pepper spray you. Or both. Whatever it takes. But your sorry little protest is over now because we say so." And nothing ever changes.

But we're still a democracy though. /s

Ah, the warm feels. Hope you guys can sleep soundly knowing that protests will achieve fuck all from now on. Just like voting.

OT: https://twitter.com/OzraeliAvi/status/1495163814412951552

Wow, so if a Canadian peaceful protester decides to just go home, the police will still hunt you down and persecute you without cause or justification? What a dystopian, Orwellian nightmare police state that Canada has now become.

I hate to say it, but Canada is now making Commiefornia look like an ideal place to live.

And I'm sure we won't be seeing any George Floyd style protests for this poor guy or any outrage from the MSM, probably because he miraculously lived.  Roll Eyes

Given everything going on in my life, managing a LN node is more negative, parasitic energy that has complicated my life beyond any rational measure.

I need to step away, for my own mental health and sanity.

Geez - I've been away for several quarters, and the news don't change. AKA history repeats

Managing high end technology issues -which will be resolved irrevocable in the foreseeable future- in Bob's current stressful personal life - he just needs a break to get things sorted- has nothing to do with supporting your beloved bCash SV, which has plummeted to oblivion, like we all expected it that history will repeat itself endlessly with all shitcoins. Giving that, youre shattered shitcoin dreams meets harsh reality while Lightning is vigorous flourishing in all metrics like never before.

Speaking of Bitcoin Cash (BCH), back in 2017, right after the fork, I got my BCH forked coins (as did all BTC HoDLers at the time), and was considering keeping them along with my Bitcoin, as a safety measure, in case BCH overtook BTC at some point in the near future (yes, I dared consider that possibility). I remember selling them (the BCH), and then changing my mind and buying them back. Eventually, I sold them all at an average price that was much higher than the current BCH price (!), and converted them to Bitcoin (BTC).

Had I kept my BCH from the 2017 fork, I would have ended up with a shitcoin that now has LESS value than it had then!

Instead, I sold all my BCH for BTC, thereby increasing my BTC stash by several whole coins, which are now worth one order of magnitude (10x) more than the price I bought them!

Lesson learned: Stick with Bitcoin, get rid of all forks (BCH, BSV, etc.), convert to BTC & HoDL.

BCash is actually lower in price now than it was during the flippening. Everyone should have dumped it back then immediately.

TL/DR;

Bob rage quit running an LN node because he values his sanity and life outside of Bitcoin.

WO forum begs him to un-rage quit because "We need more LN node operators!" (do we really tho?).

Bob vows to rejoin the insanity in 18 months.

4th vaccine useless - Israel study. Breakthrough infections are common, with high viral loads. Vaccine efficacy against omicron infection was 30% for Pfizer, 11% for Moderna. What a joke.

Utter failure of mRNA vaccines. Yet, vaccines are continuously pushed and forced on people through mandates. And when people protest, governments are using dictatorial force to silence them.

CDC deciding to hold back data collected on the vaccines for 18-49 year olds, because "it might be perceived that the vaccines were ineffective." Lol, you can't even make this shit up anymore.

BUT the need for privacy is also quite real, and we are best off when we are aware of the situation.  Privacy in Bitcoin use is a VERY important issue.  And at the risk of being Batslapped... there is a reason Monero has taken BTC's market in many of the dark net sites...

Yeah overall I see what your saying in your post. But... I feel like your last statement above is a little bit back to that of a typical Bitcoiner who disregards everything I said #1-#3 in my post above. It's the dodge of the elephant, again.

Case in point: Monero users might have private transactions (or so they believe, wink wink), but the goods and services they are buying with it, or the fiat conversions they are doing, are being monitored and tracked by the establishment. So then what's the point? How is that really private? I heard a story a while back of a bodybuilder that used Monero to purchase steroids. He/she thought their transaction was private, but the FBI still tracked the illegal mail package to their house and arrested them. The "privacy" of the transaction made zero difference, they got caught anyway. I'm sure the same has happened to people trying to use Monero to buy illegal drugs, guns, shady services, etc.

Regarding the idea of countries splitting into smaller municipalities..the trend is certainly in that direction.
Whether it would be formalized as depicted in "Snow Crash" or not remains to be seen.

I read an interesting article about how people are moving to stay with populations that are 'more like them'.

Call me crazy, but I purposely moved to a certain state to live out my days for exactly this reason. I already see the writing on the wall in terms of where things are heading, and it ain't good.
