The demand for cabins was nil. Even with the lowest prices we could possibly offer and break even, nobody wanted to live on it.

Honestly Elwar, and not trying to rub salt into the wound, but when you first announced this cruise ship endeavor my very first thought that popped into my mind was "Nobody but maybe a handful will purchase those cabins. He's gonna lose money big time on that." ROI analysis is *everything* with something that enormous and costly.

Sorry to hear it didn't go they way you wanted, but maybe it was for the best?

Elon Musk tweet discussion  Grin

How such a progressive, futuristic person such as Elon Musk could *not yet* be onboard with Bitcoin treasuries full tilt is completely beyond me.

I could say the same for such companies as Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon, etc.

Methinks that powerful people have kept them dissuaded for years now.

Getting close to thinking of taking a little profit in the form of 100 acres of prime forested property with 1500 feet of lake frontage, ten minutes from a major hospital and about an hour and a half from downtown Toronto. Under 23 bitcoins at current prices.

Thank you Bitcoin.

Do it!
Peace and serenity now is more important than pie in the sky, especially when we are not there (in the future).

Now is actually months away. This is just the land. I'd still have to build a house, although in the spring I could still drop a trailer on the land for weekend use.

The big problem is converting my coins into dollars and paying capital gains taxes. I don't have (nor want) a bank account. Luckily I have one paper wallet (my largest) which can be traced to my identity, containing about 30 coins. Hopefully that will cover it.

You can build a house somewhere you want if you own the land? Wow ... here you can build only houses in special areas, which are flaged as housing areas from the goverment. You can buy property, but you aren't allowed to build something on it... you are lucky.

Where do you live that has such Draconian property laws?

That’s it, that’s the tweet........

Actually if it unfolds anything like 2017 did, Bitcoiners will hate it too. Because there will be an unbelievable amount of FUD and misinformation going on.

I just don't see how we get a rise year like 2017 was and have it all buttery smooth, bullish, and non-controversial all the way up.

I would love to be dead wrong, of course.

Your posts make me so much bullish that I have a sudden urge to fuck a cow.

Better than being an incel or a wanker I suppose.

Cowcel?

It's terrifying what the fake news HOAX media is doing to people. The fake news hoax is media is pumping the fake news hoax bitcoin. Everyone knows this is unsustainable and will collapse soon. I thought bitcoin might slowly continue it's proven down trend toward $1,000, but now it looks like it's going to just completely collapse. This is a fantastic opportunity to short if you even want to bother with this fake news hoax currency.

Just heard a rumor today that Facebook will be launching an integrated wallet first quarter that will allow it's users to buy/sell Bitcoin.  Shocked

Are you serious?!  Don't tease us.

Actually now that I'm digging more into it, I think the rumor is likely untrue.

I think what they are launching in first quarter is this:

https://www.novi.com/

Quote
Initially, the Diem payment system will support only a few digital currencies, such as ≋USD, ≋GBP and ≋EUR, which will have the same value in the country’s respective currency (e.g. 1 USD, 1 GBP, 1 EUR). The Diem payment system will also support a combination of these digital currencies, ≋XDM. Over time, the Diem payment system intends to support additional digital currencies.

So it's a payment system wallet app. It will be integrated with Facebook, WhatsApp, and Messenger, but nothing on the site talks about Bitcoin. Sounds like they will have their own blockchain to facilitate transactions.

Bummer.  Undecided

Additionally, during an interview with Bloomberg TV, Guggenheim Investment's Scott Minerd extended his recent discussion of crypto, by noting that Bitcoin’s scarcity combined with “rampant money printing” by the Federal Reserve mean the digital token should eventually climb to about $400,000:

“Our fundamental work shows that Bitcoin should be worth about $400,000,” Minerd told Bloomberg Television on Wednesday.

“It’s based on the scarcity and relative valuation such as things like gold as a percentage of GDP. So you know, Bitcoin actually has a lot of the attributes of gold and at the same time has an unusual value in terms of transactions.”

Holy shit, the tide really is a' turnin'.

This is the first MSM interview I've seen with a major Bitcoin proponent that was positive and stayed positive and bullish Bitcoin during the entire interview.

Poor Peter Schiff, collecting gold for decades. Waiting for the fiat system collapses and his gold stash will moon, atleast that is his expectation.

Unfortunately for Peter, Bitcoin will replace gold's role as store of value and will snap all that money away.

He will not like this. Tongue

The thing is, I like PMs too. But I'm not so stupid as to place my 95% in PMs and only 5% in Bitcoin right now. For me it's the other way around.

Bitcoin is the waaayyy undervalued asset right now and much more of an asymmetrical bet than Gold.

Peter Schiff said, "Bitcoin won't even come close to hitting a new all-time high in 2020"

Instead of admitting he was wrong, he just keeps gaslighting...

Token owners can also receive personal items from the rapper’s career and participate in online parties with him, according to Fyooz. "

Have these people learned nothing from the ICO debacle?

There is a lot of liquidity fighting for the same goods. A few institutional investors are getting in, one by one, pouring millions in.
But the retail investors are not getting in massively yet.

In December 2017 alone, the total number of Coinbase users grew by 6,8 millions. If they each invest 200$, it's 1,36B$ fresh money buying bitcoins.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/803531/number-of-coinbase-users/

The retail investors will come and there will be less and less sellers, the price could skyrock (until it crashes if there is a liquidity squeeze)

A single institutional buyer can match that $1.36B and exceed it. This is their time now, and I dare say they'll do a better job accumulating BTC than retail investors who blow their wealth on toxic waste like XRP or XVG because "it's cheap".

I agree, we'd all love to think that Average Joes combined fiat power can still push the price around, but that ship sailed a long time ago.

Now Average Joes are just guppies along for the ride.

Maybe EOY liquidation already?

A month back I had predicted that profit taking would start on Dec. 10th or so, but it seems it started a few days earlier on the 7th.
