We're not cheerleaders. Most of us are like 95% in bitcoin.

I'm like 140% in bitcoin.

I hope no one tries to long squeeze me.

Wait..

These are Elon Musk words..

"My friend had a bitcoin cake in 2013. He fed me a slice of cake with it. I should have bought some.
I was a little slow on the uptake. My apologies.
I had to think about it.
I do think bitcoin is a good thing. I am a supporter of bitcoin. I'm late to the party.
I think it's on the verge of getting broad acceptance by finance ppl.
I don't have a strong opinion on others. I joke about Dogecoin. The currency was made as a joke... but fate loves irony.
Arguably the most entertaining outcome is Dogecoin becomes the currency of hte future"

(from the Clubhouse meeting/interview)

If Elon Musk is saying this now, it means that he is or has been hearing it from multiple industry insider friends, well before the public.

Now trying to pass it off as if he is an prescient oracle.

I don't want to sound like a huge faggot or anything, but got bored and decided to buy 100oz or so of physical silver off <internet.site>

Let's get back to crashing the economy. I'm trying to do my small part.
Buying some junk silver will not crash any economy.
Depending on location but Silver is one if the biggest money trap there is. It has to rise 25% before any profit.
Gold in most places does not have the tax burden to deal with but still happily sold last piece last year.
Commodities is so last century, even toiled paper is abetter investment because its needed, no-one needs a silver spoon.

Silver does seem like a silly target to crash the economy plus the drama of Gamestop isn't over yet. If people lose focus too early, the sqeeeeeze might not take place. One target at a time. It will take every penny to make it happen.

This, this, and this.

1. The WSB/ RH crowd is getting deliberately baited away from GME and onto something else (in this case, silver) in order to dilute their strength and resolve.

2. Anyone thinking that silver can actually be "squeezed" by worldwide retail buying power needs to do more research. TL/DR; it can't. It's not even remotely the same as the GME situation.

3. The fact that it can't be squoze, is precisely why the establishment traders are luring dumb money there and away from GME.

4. Just read that Citadel is the 5th largest holder of SLV. That means they will dump their SLV on any significant pump to cover any losses on GME, or for any new capital needed.

I bought the majority of my silver (~400-ish ounces) between 2014-2016, when nobody wanted it.

Also picked up a couple 1 oz gold coins for between $1200-$1300 each during the same timeframe.

I'm sorry Torque, Elwar, and others: I think this is "all about" a simple pump and dump married with a warped assed sense of "social justice". Feelings are a commodity like corn or oil, and in this case feelings of "rage" are being cashed into pumps and dumps across the financial spectrum.

In the old days the hucksters would have to call you on the phone from a suckers' list and pitch you pink sheet stocks that you buy, price goes up a bit, they sell, you're left with worthless crap. Back then the hook would be greed, stupidity, maybe religious fervor (your church could get a new steeple! Or more clubs to bash Gay people!). Shit they made movies about this con game.

But now... Now it's "different". Now you can profit off peoples' rage and lack of willingness to do anything about it. Instead you can get them to crowdfund a "cause", stick it to the "man" and all the while the shares you bought go off to the moon. "Look, he's honest, he has a hundred million in shares and *only* cashed out 5m!".

Much like Occupy people were fucked, and Q-Anon people were fucked, these guys will be fucked. But the trick is the exit strategy in this con counts on these people saying "Well I lost my $100 but at least I was able to stick it to the MAN!!!" And they will be happy and the instigators will get their money.

Maybe it's even worth it in some twisted way....

I can't say I agree with you that this whole GME thing was a PnD engineered by ruthless traders from the very beginning. If so, IMHO the bubble would have popped by now as the scammers would have sold off and ridden into the sunset.

But I will say that your observations and thoughts are fairly prescient.

Will there be other, out of the blue pump and dumps of various stocks, perhaps penny stocks even, in collusion with the MSM printing fake headlines such as "Now the WSB crowd is turning its sights on _________ (fill in the blank X/Y/Z company)" ? Will there be fresh attempts to get the WSB / RH tribe mislead into other PnD traps and scams, all in the name of "social justice"? (Note: already happening, just look at all the buzz around silver). Or will they try to fractionalize the whole WSB group across multiple scams, in order to splinter their combined purchasing power/strength and rob them of influence? In order to marginalize them and make them irrelevant?

Yeah, I believe it will happen. All of it.

Because at the end of the day, dumb money is still just that: dumb. And the ruthless traders know that.

Some people suddenly seem to faint with ecstasy whenever someone pronounces the name "Gamestop".

This is not about Gamestop, this is about shorters using their influence to artificially push prices down even further. It's about abuse of power. And that's indeed unacceptable.

No I agree, and I think most people, even the degenerates on WSB know what it's all about. It's become Occupy Wall Street 2.0 in cyberspace. Most of the them don't really care about Gamestop the company.

But funny thing though, no one seems to care when Wall Street hitches all the hedge fund wagons and indexes to a few FAANG stocks, and then has the Fed give the CBs trillions in free money to continue pumping those few stocks to the moon. Just as corrupt a situation, if not more so. It's collusion of the highest order.

Do you really think we should keep shops selling games physically opened, and stop streaming games and movies and instead go back to cartridges and VHS or so (which will, by the way, again, be produced by mega corps)?

I never said that. I said choice is good. Options are good.

Having only 1-3 mega corps where they have a complete monopoly where you are forced to download all your movies and games from is not good.

Btw, Gamestop employees 14,000 full-time and 22,000-42,000 part-time workers worldwide. If it goes away, all those people lose their jobs.

But I guess what's another several tens of thousands of unemployed people amidst tens of millions already, amirite?

LOL, listen to this crybaby.

https://digg.com/2021/leon-cooperman-cnbc-gamestop-stock-price-interview

Quote
Hedge fund billionaire Leon Cooperman went on CNBC to decry the Reddit-fueled frenzy that's currently sending shockwaves through the trading markets. The irate businessman said that people who are sitting at home and trading stocks using government checks was a "bullshit concept" and "a way of attacking wealthy people."

This does it. I haven't been into stocks for many years, but I'm buying GME on Monday to show my support. I too can stay retarded longer that those hedge funds can stay solvent. These diamond hands have practiced hodling for many years.

He probably hates Bitcoin and bitcoiners as well. Fucking dinosaur yelling at the sky.
1489  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 30, 2021, 04:20:34 PM
the crooks/idiots were shorting 140% of the share float .... they can't all get out together even if they wanted to (down to 120% on Friday close) the main part of the squeeze hasn't happened yet

r/wallstbets has their foot on the throat, new buys increase the hedge funds losses, so they are liquidating longs in big caps to cover margin calls .... has systemic implications at some point, they broke the rigged game by taking it to it's absurd extreme, reductio ad absurdum, GameStopped it, quant models exploding everywhere, AI didn't see irrational autists on the horizon

Why don't the brokerages pull a Gox and issue retailers shares that don't exist? They lent phantom stock for naked short-selling, so why not take the fraud to the next level.

That's probably exactly what Robinhood did. Then the price went 10x and bankrupted them.

There's probably a whole lot more shady, illegal shit they can do: flood the float with phantom shares, suspend or zero out short interest payment, liquidate existing holders, etc. But now there's more scrutiny, so much so that even the SEC would have a hard time turning a blind eye to any more shenanigans that benefit the shorts or RH.
1490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 30, 2021, 03:04:13 PM

On a side note. GameStop is not going anywhere. Bankruptcy is off the table. They have 60 million plus shares in their treasury that they bought back in 2019 for <$5 a share. Even if they just sold a portion at the recent prices, they can fund their operations for years.

This makes me happy. I know people say their business model is dying, but hopefully now they will have a second chance to figure out their future and thrive.

A world where you could only download/stream your games through the mega corp likes of XBox Cloud, Stadia, or Apple TV would be a very sad world indeed.

Looks like Robinhood just went full retard.

I bet they will be scrambling for fresh capital all weekend, and bank transfers take 3-4 business days, so....

Robinhood opened trading back up for Gamestop after getting an extra $1 billion from investors.

Gamestop price up over $300.

What people don't realize is how this whole GME debacle has exposed a much larger, more sinister issue at hand.

Why are American Hedge Funds massively shorting hundreds of small-cap, mainstreet mom and pop value stocks, while going long only a handful of Hi Tech large-cap growth stock companies?

Hmmm?

Well let's see....

1. Each time the Fed prints more trillions $$$ fiat, each dollar printed produces less and less GDP growth. They can't have all those new fiat dollars dilluted across thousands of stocks, because then they wouldn't be able to prop up the market. So in order for those fiat dollars to have any effect on high flying stock prices, they need to be concentrated, funneled onto just a few favored stocks. Like the FAANGS. Pump the few FAANGS, and tether all other market indexes to them. Short the hundreds of main street stocks that don't matter. "You shouldn't fight the Fed."

2. Put the businesses you hate/don't fit your future NWO out of business; prop up the ones that do fit your NWO and make them gain in market share.

Wall Street is literally now betting *against* main street America. And Covid-19 helped them.

I can imagine a new hollywood movie coming out later this year. The plot would be: "How a bunch of nerd gamers almost crashed the world economy. Thanks to a misteryous call, the infamous robinhood platform prevented the massive short squeeze and saved the Wall Street brokers from bancruptcy. This will be a lesson for all shorters for the times to come.."

The movie should be called "The Big Long".

Would make a nice bookend to that other movie, lol.

Proof that Andrew Left has always been a career-long dirtbag. He actually admits it now.

Fuck that guy, he got what he deserved.

"20 years ago I started Citron with the intention of protecting the individual against Wall Street, against the frauds and the stock promotions were just all over,” Left said in a YouTube video on Friday. “Where we started Citron was supposed to be against the establishment, we’ve actually become the establishment.

“So as of today, Citron Research will no longer be publishing what can be considered as short selling reports,” Left added. Left said the firm will now focus on long opportunities for investors.
