6961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2019-03-20: current version is 0.9.12.0] on: April 05, 2019, 01:09:05 AM
@esternity. Agreed that we might be looking at the end of the bear market, however, the Binance chairman's tweet does not do any good for Aeon. He is implying that there is great value held in USDT that is ready to pump some cryptocoins. However, Aeon has no USDT market.

i am not sure what he means by "pseudo-fiat";
it may be only cash-equivalents of all sorts.

Pseudofiat are clearly stablecoins like USDT and like the tokens that Circle has issued which are backed by US dollars. The problem is USDT. It might not be backed 1 for 1 by US dollars anymore. I reckon they might be printed at will and be used to pump the new cryptospace bull.

Sebastian Vettel decided to make all the mistakes on the 1st half of this season and be over with it instead of doing it similar to his last season's performance where he did all the mistakes in the 2nd half hehehe.

I reckon Sebastian might leave Ferrari after his contact expires on 2020.

6963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: April 04, 2019, 03:44:04 AM
@Karto. The cause of a good amount of the dumping is from the miners themselves because it would be safer for them to sell and hold every grin they mine in bitcoin, also because bitcoin holds value much better than grin does.

Sub $1.00 is only a matter of time, I reckon.

6964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / The bitcoin cash pump. Roger Ver's creation? on: April 04, 2019, 03:20:57 AM
Qoheleth opened a thread that asked what started bitcoin's pump. He also shared that the pump begun in Japan in an exchange called Coincheck.

Source https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5127293.0

Also, when we look for what altcoin did all that value held in bitcoin go, we can see that all that bitcoin is maybe being used to pump bitcoin cash, the largest and most consistent gainer after bitcoin's pump.

Roger Ver lives in Japan.

You will not be addressing the issue of the whole reason why Aeon is proposed to switch to Kangaroo12 proof of work?

@smooth. Agreed! It has a cool name. Is it made in Australia hehehe?
6967  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-26] Tom Lee: Bitcoin Will End 2019 On A High Note on: April 03, 2019, 03:19:29 AM
@gentlemand. No, however there might be some people who might have listened to him before. In any case, I reckon his prediction for bitcoin to do better than $3900 on 2019 is rational. What about you, is it rational?

I don't really care about this year. It's going to hopefully be a transition from relelntless doom to nothingness and that's as far as my preferences go. If 2021 is a pile of poo I'll be sad.

Is your sentiment on the market for 2019 still a transition from relentless doom to nothingness or has the big pump changed it by any means?
6968  Economy / Speculation / Re: "What started it"? on: April 03, 2019, 02:55:24 AM
@Qoheleth. I reckon whatever or whoever started it might be using their newly bought bitcoins to pump bitcoin cash also. It has pumped more than any cryptocoin in the top 50.

Also, the pump started in Japan. Roger Ver lives in Tokyo, Japan.
6969  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-28] The Economist: Bitcoin revival unlikely.... on: April 03, 2019, 01:52:54 AM
@Carlton Banks. I have my opinion, however, it's another matter.

I was asking what the other people's opinions are on if fees alone can sustain bitcoin's security. To some of the people who might say yes, I reckon they might not be completely honest with themselves.

6970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: April 02, 2019, 03:26:14 AM
10 years is literally a life time for crypto.
Instead I'm interested in the first year or two of a coin, more specifically trying to buy it's dips.
My position on Grin is that the current ATL (~0.00055 BTC per Grin) & whereabouts is/was a pretty good entry point.

As stated before, I do not agree with sub dollar or half dollar bottom predictions.
It's like thinking that BTC will drop to $2k or less - which I don't.
I don't even see dollars when dealing with alt coins - all I see is compared to BTC.

We cannot correctly speculate the comparison of the price of an in demand, widely accepted coin with supply cap and a newly released coin with an infinite supply, however.

I reckon sub $1.00 is more possible on grin that sub $2k for bitcoin.
6971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion [Odds updated!] on: April 02, 2019, 02:22:44 AM

I'm now leaning towards a child of Dany & Jon being raised as a future king with Tyrion as their protector/regent.

Ronnie @ Cloudbet

We must consider that George R.R. Martin is also crazy hehehe. Your ending would be the model ending, however when did the writers take that direction? We will certainly see more surprises.

I predict Daenarys, Jon and Tyrion will die before Cersei.
6972  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Breakout Scheduled for August, Says Fundstrat’s Tom Lee on: April 02, 2019, 02:08:35 AM
@cybersofts. Can you add a poll for this thread to survey and asking if Tom Lee should be followed this year or not hehehe? We laughed at him for a whole year on 2018, this might be the year for him to begin laughing at us.

Hey while last year he got it completely wrong I feel we should give him the benefit of the doubt, and hope that this time his predictions come right. I feel a poll would be a great idea, as we will get to know how many believe he’ll get it right this time. Also as we speak bitcoin prices have slowly but steadily began to rise above $4K levels, I feel if bitcoin prices can sustain these levels for few days then we may see $5k levels by May.

but he wasn't just wrong about predicting the price he was ridiculously wrong and kept on insisting on his target price which at some point became too obvious is never going to happen.
i mean we have all made mistakes and will make them but every trader should be flexible in the market and change with it, if you stick to one trend and never give it up you will lose.

Agreed. However, that was 2018. We should also be flexible audiences and know when the right time to laugh at someone and when to accept that someone might be right hehehe.
6973  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-28] The Economist: Bitcoin revival unlikely.... on: April 02, 2019, 01:19:05 AM
@Carlton Banks. I know the question is not original, however, was there a satisfying and final solution? I reckon none and the approach accepted by many, because there might be no solution, is to wait and see on how the fee market works which is not very satisfying.

6974  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏀 March to the Madness on Nitrogen Sports with a 10 BTC* Jackpot Prop 🏀 on: April 01, 2019, 03:04:02 AM
@NitrogenSports. Will you be having Game of Thrones betting open again? I reckon I saw your campaign in the forum promote it in gambling discussion last year, however I do not see anything offered in the site anymore.

Also, I hope you copy the format of Pinnaclesports and Cloudbet.

6976  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-29] Canadian Oil Companies are [Somehow] Mining Bitcoin on: April 01, 2019, 02:14:50 AM
@veleten. I reckon it would be very naive to expect that setting up a mining farm to get some additional profit would be easy. It might also add more to their losses.

they do say themselves that it , actually , reduces the costs of the oil extraction due to reducing  natural gas output below goverment regulation :
“It was the best option for us… We’re using it to bring ourselves below the government-regulated amount that we can vent on location and keep producing oil”
this is good for them , but instead of mining bitcoins and investing into the mining  rigs
they could have thought of a different scenario , guess mining bitcoins was the cheapest solution in their case
here it is more of "lets comply with the goverment's regulations on natural gas and keep our oil extraction 24/7 , while we mine some coins on the side "
rather than gaining profit from bitcoin mining

I am a cycnic. I reckon it would be cheapest for them to pay a corrupt regulator from the government to leave them alone hehehe.

In any case, why fix the problem by making another problem?

Also, does the oil company have the infrastructure to convert the natural gas to electricity or will that be another problem?
6977  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-03-28] The Economist: Bitcoin revival unlikely.... on: April 01, 2019, 01:26:34 AM
I was not implying only the units. I was also talking about distribution. A cap on supply encourages hoarding, it also opens bitcoin to the problem of sustainability of security on fees alone. I predict that this might become another major crisis in bitcoin.

this was all debated years ago, you're only demonstrating that you've not done any research

you're exaggerating the issue using hyperbole too, "another major crisis" (what previous "major" crisises have there even been? Bitcoin is one big largly unmitigated success story)

Why are you making exaggerated claims about issues you have not researched?

However, intiutively is it not going to be a bigger problem considering that there are other cryptocoins competing for cheaper transactions on the blockchain? Is it not why grin is trying a new tactic in its monetary policy?

I might have not done deep research into this issue, but I want to know more. Can you tell me what solutions were found from those debates years ago? The fee market argument leaves the issue with some open questions, I reckon.

6979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: March 31, 2019, 01:31:54 AM
@Cryptotourist. Agreed, hopefully hehehe. However, I am ready to dump some on this pump to recover some losses and buy back again when it dumps.

I reckon the possibility of a sub $1.00 grin will always be there for the first 10 years.
