701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain Bitcoin mining equipment is expensive on: March 20, 2019, 03:14:24 PM
Mining machines will pay for themselves so it doesn't matter about the price. The important factor is that it is plugged into a cheap power source or you will mine at a loss

This is sort of true but there are other costs associated with mining as well. Labor costs, storage, and taxes. You should also be accounting for price drops in the cryptocurrency as well.
702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain Bitcoin mining equipment is expensive on: March 19, 2019, 01:44:38 PM
Watch this quick 1-minute video on Bitmain's mining: https://youtu.be/OYCz2S6Nn14

What do you guys think about Bitmain?

Bitmain was facing multiple lawsuits, that's why they hiked up the miner's price to pay off the debt.

https://go.daneel.io/news?s=bitmain-mined-crypto-for-its-own-benefits-on-devices-owned-by-the-customers

They mismanaged that company so incredibly bad.

If it actually took you that amount of time then mate it was actually worth every second.
I really loved the concept and the way you presented it

Thanks alot I really appreciate the kind comment. The next video will have more time spent on it.
704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin related cartoon on: March 19, 2019, 01:43:18 PM
I think videos about bitcoin must be instructive and of high quality and educate people.
If bitcoin is the subject of cartoons, it is necessary to inform and educate children and be attractive to them. This is their technology. and bitcoin is the first step for the future towards a good digital era.

I think crypto cartoons are a good way to spread information in a fun and interesting way. I believe it can be viewed by anyone regardless of age.

706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain Bitcoin mining equipment is expensive on: March 17, 2019, 02:49:27 AM
Mining equipment should definitely be cheaper and / or higher quality devices should be made available for individual use.

I agree as it stops regular people from getting into mining.
707  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: My idea for a bitcoin job forum on: March 15, 2019, 10:11:33 PM
If it looked nice and had traffic I would certainly use it. If it operated like an Ebay but for services then I think it could be successful. However user liquidity will be important, you need people to offer services but also need daily visitors of people who are looking for cryptocurrency related services.
708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain Bitcoin mining equipment is expensive on: March 15, 2019, 08:49:20 PM
This is more of a scene that would be in a full episode of a cryptocurrency cartoon. But what do you guys think about it? Do you think Bitmain or mining equipment in general costs too much?
709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin related cartoon on: March 15, 2019, 07:16:36 PM
A cartoon is a brilliant idea!

Are you making it in paint because of the challenge?

It helps spread the world really well because if one image speaks more than one thousand words, then imagine a lot of images one after another in rapid succession. I really like cartoons personally, you're never too young or too old to watch some once in a while.

I am making it in Paint because that's the only way I can think of to make a cartoon animation :p I appreciate the kind comment Smiley If you like it, make sure to subscribe or follow me on Twitter so you can get the news of new episodes.

I advise you to buy a graphics tablet. At least the cheapest. This will improve the graphics in your videos very well.
Then try improving your sound. You can try software editors for sound (Audacity for example). You can remove background noise and make your voice more pleasant. I like your idea. And how you implemented it. It is only necessary to  improve the technical part little bit.

I have gotten the Audacity suggestion a few times, and for the next video, it will be used. Thanks for the suggestions, they will be used in order to improve every video. I do think the voice and graphics are a problem for the videos, but hopefully, if the content and story are good it will give me enough time to win everyone over as I improve the quality of the videos. I only released two videos, they will get better!

If you like it, make sure to subscribe or follow me on twitter so you get the notification of the new episodes.
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins History, Cryptocurrency Cartoon Live on: March 15, 2019, 07:13:14 PM
Nice idea to have this introduction of the bitcoin industry in cartoon video although your drawing is not that good to be honest. Probably you need to ask your friends (who have drawing skills) to draw the cartoon for you so it will be more attractive for people to watch the video.

Yeah I certainly will do that, the whole point was just to get the video out there. However, I am looking into different designers and different voices to for other videos.

I've watched the video. I appreciate the effort you made on this. Newbie will be glad if they will spend time to watch your video. Indeed a great overview of how bitcoin started. Also, it has a simple graphics and a simple animation. Though, I was entertained by your simple cartoon creation, the text was obviously made by handwritten. Lol. Try to make your video more colorful for attraction, I noticed it was more on black and white that makes the whole video dull. But overall, two thumbs up for you, dude.

I think it looks better if the text is handwritten, if it is just plain written text then it sort of takes away from the whole paint animation. However, when a new designer comes in and takes over, it will look better. I think I have a good vision for it, and good ideas for actual episodes. But I agree the design could use some work. Thanks for the comment Smiley

Hahaha I find your animation very cute. Its very simple, not perfect (really obvious though), but you can really see the effort that was exerted just to complete the video. The lines, letters are very sloppy but what matter is that, as long as you can understand what it wants to tell, then it's okay.
I bet you're good at drawing, I can see it in the video. You're just having a hard time since you're using paint. It's really hard though. But overall, nice video. The information, the simplicity, and the effort. Try practicing for more to make it more enjoyable to watch.

I am not good at drawing haha, but I am working at getting an actual designer. I would like to simply direct and write the episodes. Thanks for the kind words Smiley

It's a very good video and you were very creative in the video. if in the next videos you improve the drawings and the story, then your next videos may be even better than this one. About the end of the video where you talk about the price, I think you should talk about such subject with more caution

Thank you for the suggestion and with everyone's input, every video will get better, thanks a lot for the comments.

Great efforts as I see Video on YouTube.

First of appreciating your hard work along with great blessings. But it can be more productive and attractive according to a commercial perspective view.

It's a great introductory video, done with least tools for newbies to understand basics about Bitcoin in simple, audiovisual and illustrative form.

I would like to suggest go for a series of videos to educate the mass audience by helping to understand Bitcoin in an easy way.

Bitcoin is the future of a global economy and many other related industries. The technology behind Bitcoin is an innovative invention which has bring more transparency and speed to the current business environment.

I am in the process of creating more videos that have substance. I am looking to create full episodes of 10 minutes + and have some written. However, I am waiting for better graphics in order to post it. The current video took me many hours to complete and so I am going to be a little slow at fixing the graphics but for the next video, you will see an increase. I appreciate your input and it really helps.

At the end of video the kid was crying to grandpa because he look disappointed bitcoin not continue to the moon and 2018 stil hasn't made the chapter which probably on that year for some people can be called as boring year for cryptocurrency however overall i do liked the video although only explain through simple animations

In the end, the kid was crying and that was the 2018 year since ICO's took a huge hit. Innovation in Blockchain has really taken off in 2018, but the video was based around Bitcoin. So price action and price points are the main focus since other than price, nothing huge happened for bitcoin. In upcoming videos when I jump into real episodes, there will be more in-depth conversations for people who are serious about Bitcoin and Blockchain. This was just a starter video.

This is good, am glad the cryptocurrency community has so many people who are determined to make the world get to know about Bitcoin and blockchain. Thanks for the cartoon, it was great watching it.

Thank you for watching, and if you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Good job for the video created with their own hands for 1 day. For such a long video 20-24 hours is too little, I think here it was necessary to work at least a week. Walt Disney is resting with his thrillers!

I would love to devote more time to it, and the writing takes up a large portion of it. If I spent a week of 8 hours a day on the writing, I would have half an hour episodes. However, I have to work and so it is not realistic yet.

I must commend you for your effort in promoting bitcoin in your own little way, trying to spread the news to people and educate them on bitcoin using cartoons. This is great and you did a good job. Nice one, keep it up.

Thank you I really appreciate your comment. The Bitcoin and cryptocurrency community has been very kind.

What kind of microphone are you using? The sound quality of your voice isn't really great to be honest.
I don't mean your voice itself, it's the quality of the recording that's lacking.

Maybe there's something you could do with Audacity to improve it a little bit? Sounds kind of 'tinny'.

It could likely be my voice :p I am using a turtle beach mic that was like $50 and OBS software.

No, it's definitely not that, your voice is pretty good. I would really try to edit the recording with Audacity and try to add some more depth to it.
Should really be fairly easy to do. Plus Audacity is free and open-source.

Here are some good tutorials on how to do that:

Thank you very much Smiley For the next video, I will use it. Should notice a difference in the next one.

I am reopening this as I would like an animator to work with me on my cryptocurrency cartoon.

I have an entire episode written and I need someone to design it. Here is an example of the work I have been doing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I3KuM5KFjo

Obviously, the graphics aren't amazing since it is on Paint, however it plays as though the characters are moving since I have scenes.
Ei, did you just insult MS Paint for producing crappy images? Peace Cheesy

-snip- Also if you guys have any suggestions make sure to let me know.
I would suggest you to at least purchase "Clip Studio Paint" for making the raw images or the complete animation (not an Ad, I use it personally).
It supports animation, draw frame by frame & almost all of Photoshop's features like layers; also, it's a bit stable even drawing using the mouse.

Or if you're into ease of use, you can export the files to "Adobe Illustrator" and make use of its "Puppet warp" feature to simulate movement of limbs, head, etc in each frames.
All you have to do is to make one quality image per scene and the tools will help you do the rest, there are tons of tutorials on Youtube too.

I'm not sure what you mean by me using an "ad" but I will look into it, and if it is easy enough then I will get it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Crappy image indeed but i do still appreciate the effort specially on forming that Donald trump  Grin

About purchasing,he might not have the funds and decide to stick with MS paint but he can really make it better actually
and not to rushing up and making lines thicker. Putting a little effort would give out better output even on MS paint.

Haha thank you Tongue

Yeah, I really just wanted to put the work out there since I already spent about 40 hours making the current videos. I will look into the software though and if it is not too expensive and easy to use then I will try it. Otherwise, I will certainly keep working on paint and improve every video with suggestions etc. So thank you for your input, as it will help make every video better.

You did a great job here, no one will tell our history if we don't do. We just need to be the ones that continue to tell the history and story of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies to the world that is still doubting the concept of decentralized currency

Thanks I appreciate the comment Smiley
717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin related cartoon on: March 14, 2019, 08:39:17 PM
I uploaded a small cut scene that is one minute long. I hope you guys enjoy it.
718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins History, Cryptocurrency Cartoon Live on: March 14, 2019, 08:37:34 PM
Just checked it out. Your cartoon is pretty good, thanks for posting!

Thanks Smiley I have a new 1 minute one in my signature. Feel free to check it out.

Yeah, I watch the whole video, but in the beginning I was looking about how it all started and never hear about Satoshi. Anyways, it was a cool video specially injecting some jokes in the middle, lol.

Is that your real voice though? Don't get me wrong, but it sounds robotic to me,  Grin

Hahah thanks, and yeah I am part robot though so I understand why you would think that.

I do need someone to design it and voice act it for me, so that way I only have to write it. But in time it will get better!

I did not like the statement about looking back at price fluctuations. It would have been better to say let's look back at the progress and product development. Overall it's a good video, considering it was not a professional work. Good graphics and narrative.

Why not? Price is what has brought in most people into Bitcoin. Satoshi and the original cypherpunks are really the only people to be able to say they are in cryptocurrency purely for the technology.

The technology does matter, but this video wasn't about that, it was Bitcoins History. Not blockchain technology.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitmain Bitcoin mining equipment is expensive on: March 14, 2019, 08:33:04 PM
Watch this quick 1-minute video on Bitmain's mining: https://youtu.be/OYCz2S6Nn14

I think for most people they see bitcoin mining as "free money". However, its almost always nonprofitable unless you have the perfect operation with older equipment that is expensed, and have cheap electricity/labor.

You're better off just investing in Bitcoin and then selling if it goes up for a profit, instead of mining bitcoin and getting liquidated when the price doesn't skyrocket.

720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins History, Cryptocurrency Cartoon Live on: March 14, 2019, 03:32:53 PM
Good work, you need more work to improve image quality and sound but a good start.
I do not want to go into the details but you gave general points. Maybe explain more about how Bitcoin works, wallets, Bitcointalk's history, and other things will add more to your channel.

I remember that @xtraelv documented the history of the hacks of this forum so he may help you in the historical narrative.

Do you have a recommendation for a better mic or software to fix it? I am using Turtle Beaches and OBS to record audio.

Bitcoins History is now live on YouTube. https://youtu.be/6I3KuM5KFjo

This episode is meant to simply educate people about the past history of Bitcoin. Next weeks episode "The crypto stork" will be launched, in which it will actually be an episode with characters and not simply set in an informational fashion.

Let me know what you think. No joke, it took me around 20-25 hours to create. [Writing, designing, voicing, and editing]I know it might not be visually amazing since it was made on paint, however, I think it does a good job at displaying information.

Follow me on twitter for cryptocurrency content @timmy_forrest

Informative, fun, clear and beautiful. Greeting and thank you. Watching had amazing fun. I would like to do a similar work in my own language Smiley

Thanks for the support Smiley

Good work Tim, and yes I know it takes a long time to build these things but imagine how many people on this forum dedicate hours of their lives to do something good for everyone's enjoyment, right? Now you are part of that thing.

Don't worry about paint, but I think eventually even if you can do physical art and make it as slides, it works better end of the day. I hope we get to see more from you.

I have made bigger content for other YouTube channels, so maybe one of them will get a designer to actually bring an episode to life. Most of the time I spent on designing it and editing it. I have some good 10+ minute episodes written out that have a plot/story which I hope to release soon Smiley
