701  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safety first before accumulation, a lesson I learnt the hard way on: December 30, 2023, 11:44:10 AM
There is a reason why many holders don't purchase yet a hardware wallet because they think that it's only for those that have huge holding or when they see that their holdings are getting larger. They have a point if they don't hold that much but as someone who sees your stay here for so long, it's the time that you have to consider owning one. I am sorry with your experience and you've lost your holdings and you have to learn from it. It's good to see that you're reminding the others also that might be going through the same accumulation as yours before and they don't want to consider taking one hardware wallet. Just take it as another type of investment because it is protecting your assets. We'll never get tired telling people to buy their own hardware wallets but in choosing, of course there is another debate on that so we will let you research your hardware wallet choice. You just have to stick on which is the community is suggesting or which one has the most approved and trust rating from us.
702  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it give fuel to skyroket for btc ? on: December 29, 2023, 11:58:16 PM
Thanks to everyone that has summarized the article and did us a favor not to visit it.

We may consider this as a contributor to the pump but too hard to point out that would be the main reason. Because at this point, I see nothing could help the skyrocket other than halving.
While all of us knew that it's going to be halving that will be the biggest contributor of the next bull run. It's just so happen that it's timely that these ETFs have been applied and now, they're also thought to be contributing bigger than the halving. Many of the speculators telling and relying on these news have to see how did Bitcoin in the past. There's always like two or more contributors for the bull run but regardless of that, it's always been halving that gives a bigger space for this bull run because of the effect of it. So, as early as the next halving on 2028 I think that there will be another contributor as they say other than these financial institutions.
703  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable? on: December 29, 2023, 10:44:11 PM
Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable in the future
If someone who's not into crypto, definitely the best choice for that person is to go for real estate investment. It appreciates over time and there's not that much volatility on it as long as the property is placed on a good location. But if you're also into crypto, real estate are not cheap investments. It's like a lifetime commitment and you can't DCA there. So, it varies per situation per person on which is more dependable to him. As for me, I'd take both if there's an opportunity to take some real properties that I can purchase.

Though have been in the crypto space for quite some time now, I knew little about crypto. A friend of mine just introduced me to real estate investment.
Which one should I go for with a capital less than $2500?
With that capital, it's basically easy to just sit that with crypto and the wise choice is Bitcoin. Do you see some housing companies and projects in your country that allows you to put $2500 as a downpayment for a real estate? If you can assess and think that you're able to do that, you need to consider on how long you're going to continue paying that mortgage for how many years.
704  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKX to delist privacy coins on: December 29, 2023, 08:02:13 PM
IMO, this is anticipated and no longer a surprising matter. Was it two years ago or a year when we've started to see the delistings started somewhere in South Korea with the exchanges there because of the pressure of the regulators there. So, this is a global instruction that shall be followed by most of the exchanges that are known today. If they don't do it, they'll be the one to take the sanction so it is expected that there will be more delistings of privacy coins by next year from most of the big exchanges.

Perhaps, government are now cracking down on privacy coins
This is what actually is happening. It is them that are pressuring the exchanges to delist privacy coins and its pairs.
705  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: for the NEWBIES and the OLD MEMBERS on: December 29, 2023, 06:55:59 PM
Hello bitcointalk mermbers.
I am asking for your participation, to help the new membres to get more knowlege, and get up-dates about the crypto world
u can help by sharing telegrame groups, youtube chanel, facebook pages and groups, reddit groups, books.................... extra.

thank you
Did you just mentioned groups, telegrams? Rahim, welcome to Bitcointalk and that's a very good question or suggestion that you've just mentioned. Let's just focus first with the telegram channels. It's best for you not join any of them if they are about trading activities because many of them are pump and dump groups that you shall get no benefits from joining them. You might get some luck for some instance but in general, you'll get nothing from them and instead that you'll get something from them, it's the opposite. Yes, they might be the one getting something from you.
706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Something Else could be the issue and not a clipboard problem on: December 29, 2023, 10:47:46 AM
Clipboard issues could be caused by a lot of things, but I definitely don't think bugs can suddenly make you paste a hacker's wallet address instead of yours. Bugs can only cause you to clear your clipboard, and/or fail copy-pasting.
I agree, bugs don't usually going to make you paste an unknown Bitcoin address. When it does happen then obviously that your PC or device has been infected by a malware.

The solution here is to restart the computer. If the issue persists, then we can conclude it is malware.
While it's good to actually check if something's gonna fix by restarting as this is what we mostly do when we see some unknown issues within our PCs. But when the PC is already infected, there's no way that restarting is going to help. And in the first place, why would someone is going to install a clipboard manager? This is also one of the cause why someone's PC is infected. With all of these random downloads that don't really needed by an individual is causing them a ruckus. When you intend to download a specific application that will make you more productive, please do a check first if it's really needed and if it's a genuine copy that you're downloading. One factor why people are getting infected is when they download random things freely for free.
707  Economy / Exchanges / Re: EasySwap.biz - fresh exchange format on: December 29, 2023, 08:23:53 AM
~snip~

Thank you for your opinion. We will take your wishes into consideration.
According to the tariffs. Exchanges are conducted according to the website's exchange rate. We do not set fixed fees. Each direction has its own course and it changes depending on the market situation.
Thanks, that's a quick modification that you've made. Because I am comparing it with other swaps that they have fixed fees and have floating fees. But if you don't have fixed fees, that's okay since you're also relying to the market's motion and it's too volatile at all.

Therefore, before conducting exchanges, please check the site's courses and be sure to pay attention to the warnings.
Okay, I'll take a look with that since you've provided a screesnhot of it. I don't operate this type of service but I think you have an idea on how competitive the rates of the others but still, good luck and thanks again for your prompt response.
708  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 24-Dec-23] on: December 28, 2023, 11:24:08 PM
We've got some updates with lots of campaigns.

BC.Game is now full and can be changed now into CFNP.

Now we're Full.

Wild.io has paid its first week so it can be moved now to CFNP.

Round 1 Payments have been sent out

WasabiWallet.io Signature Campaign is now opened.
WasabiWallet.io is now full and CFNP.

Now we're Full.

Stake(2)'s title of the thread isn't yet CFNP and that means that they're still open for new participants.

If there is no [CFNP] it should be easy for people to understand that campaign is still open

Coinomize is about to have its last day later on and that's safe to say that it will be removed on the list.

The final week [WEEK 51] for this signature campaign will run from Dec. 25 to Dec. 29 only.
709  Economy / Exchanges / Re: EasySwap.biz - fresh exchange format on: December 28, 2023, 09:09:32 PM
Registration is not required. Mail or telegram is requested to record the exchange history in case you need help. The identification of the request is based on the data that you specified when creating the request. You can write anything in the login field, but try not to make mistakes.

1. We have set a mandatory field for the mail or telegram account. You can write anything there (randomly). But if you make a mistake in carrying out the operation, then we will need identification when contacting us. If you are sure that you will not make mistakes, then write any symbols in this field, for example @anonim. We carry out the exchange upon receipt of funds to the service account and send the funds to the details that you specified in the application. If you make a mistake and specify anonim in the login field, then be prepared for additional questions.
While that's like it's unimportant at all, it's better to just make it optional for anyone who doesn't like filling it up random texts on that field. There goes the transaction ID that basically someone can refer to and it's a unique ID that the user can present to you as their reference and just give them the reminder that it should be kept for any CS concerns in the future or if the transaction is delayed or so. About the rates, what can you say about that? Because it is not shown on how much percentage you charge per exchange that's done on your platform.
710  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fraud on Marketplaces when selling a video card on: December 28, 2023, 07:13:32 PM
There are many marketplaces that are likely to scam victims. If with important equipment like this, I wouldn't just buy there and will do the payment first. If cash on delivery (COD) is allowed, I'll choose that option if it's going to cost me money. It's possible that there are two suspects there, the store/seller or the courier that possibly replaced the goods upon knowing that it's a video card. Whether it is a Russian marketplace or not, it will serve as a lesson to everyone that just go to physical store if it's possible when you're buying something valuable as a 4090.
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Know, But Can i Invest In Bitcoin? on: December 28, 2023, 07:13:18 AM
Should I invest money with the suggestion of that guy?
He's not wrong for telling you about investing with any amount you're willing to invest. That also means that amount is what you are willing to lose. Why so? It's because this market is highly volatile. I don't want to encourage you to invest but right now, you are not yet ready IMO. What you must do is read more info or gain more knowledge so you understand what you are investing with.

He told me that if I invest I will get good profit. He said, he will open my bitcoin wallet and help to buy bitcoins. Should I invest in bitcoin?
He's right that you'll get good profits in time but I disagree about it that he's the one that will create you your Bitcoin wallet. He can guide you but the wallet that you must use is a wallet that provides you your private keys. You can invest in Bitcoin but do that later when you understand these things already. Also read some guides about the forum which I've included below.

712  Economy / Exchanges / Re: EasySwap.biz - fresh exchange format on: December 27, 2023, 11:05:44 PM
I've tried to play around with your conversion and it seems that you're charging quite high and I don't see how much % you charge per exchange.

The interface looks elegant and easy to use. I tried the service without registering, but I was surprised on the next page that you were requesting email or Telegram. Why?
I have noticed that as well. While most of the instant swaps I've used don't require email or it's just an optional feature, yours is making it as a mandatory requirement before proceeding the exchange and forcing people to agree with the AML/KYC policy.
713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ViaBTC offers no more free TX acceleration? on: December 27, 2023, 09:42:00 PM
I noticed that as well and even tried to timing the time before the hour ticks on exact 00 00 time but lo and behold, I didn't win getting one transaction acceleration. But the total accelerated transactions are still increasing and that means to say that there are bots that are quicker than us.

The problem is that ordinal scammers are abusing ViaBTC free accelerator with their bots and don't allow humans to submit their transactions.
These guys don't really want to give us some convenience as even this free tx accelerator is being over taken and abused by them.

I think that topics like this belongs to Service Discussion.
714  Economy / Economics / Re: Will they ever be able to afford a house? on: December 27, 2023, 05:23:10 PM
Quote from: tabas
Due to how expensive it is, they are choosing to just rent and let it be until they can have their own house in a rural area where lands are quite cheaper than from the city.
For some reason the "until they can have their own house" rarely happens even after the age of 40.
And that's a sign of how tough life is today and that's true that even with that age, it's hard to get their own house in the city and even on the rural areas, there's the hardship that can seen on today's generation. The mortgage and its interest are quite high and increasingly based on the government's response to the economical situation of a country.

This actually depends on what type of country we are in whether first world country or third world country because lifestyle and the way of living in these categories differ regardless of ages and generations. I find it biased when we look at the chart IMO.
Regardless of where you live, the houses and real estate prices have increased for most of the countries. And someone can barely afford it and while there are economical situations for everyone, the sellers of these properties are also taking advantage of it as they increase the prices way out of the srp.
715  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 BC.GAME - CASINO AND SPORTSBOOK | $1,000 GIVEAWAY LIVE! 🔥🔥🔥 on: December 27, 2023, 09:45:45 AM
The swap feature that bc.game is indeed great and I already used it quite some a lot, mainly to exchange some BCD into some other coins.
Yeah the swap feature by Bc.game is the one I love the most in their platform because most casino platforms don't have this feature.
Honestly, the swap feature or the exchange feature is actually helpful. Not just with those specific exchanges that you want to keep whether it's with BCD or any other altcoins that you prefer to gamble with. One use of it is if you want to withdraw and you find BTC withdrawals are quite exhausting and ain't fast, you can exchange into those altcoins you prefer that have a quicker confirmation time so you save the fees and as well as the waiting time.

Stake.com which I think is the most popular casino does not have a feature like this. This kind of swap feature really helps right now to reduce transaction fees. That is the reason why I choose to play on Bc.game; the convenience and cost savings make it a preferable platform for me.
I think that they have but I haven't used that feature yet or there's sort of requirement before a user is able to use that swap feature.
716  Economy / Economics / Re: Will they ever be able to afford a house? on: December 26, 2023, 11:12:51 PM
IMHO, life was easier before than of today. You can even own house easier before because of the economies were not too tight and problematic than today. Today, if you go and see in most countries or just watch some videos related to real estate. Many of the current generation will say that they can't afford to buy their own real estate and can't pay mortgage. Due to how expensive it is, they are choosing to just rent and let it be until they can have their own house in a rural area where lands are quite cheaper than from the city.
That's right, it's very different now and we can see how the world will change now than before, especially when there was covid. This is where everything changed or let's say it was the biggest contributor to change the world.

The price of houses will increase too much, and it is still rising.
To be honest, because of covid, I thought that everything is going to be cheap because with all of those demands have been dropped a lot when everyone was just at home and things were no longer desired but then I was wrong. Because when things have been back to normal, the demand have increased and this made most of the prices to shoot up again.

But there are still others who can buy and build a house as long as they work hard and persevere, nothing is impossible for a dreamer.
Yes, there's no doubt that many will still be able to buy their own houses but no longer the dream house that they've been planning. With the cost of construction materials, they've all increased as well. While in some countries, alternative options are made and readily available like the van and truck houses ready to go and the container vans as long as you've got the piece of land for this option. Anyway, it's all going to sum up on what can you afford and you can still live comfortably regardless of the option you do. As they say, there are many opportunities all around the world but you can't take all of them depending on the circumstances that you're dealing with. Well, many are all talk but don't see the actual situations of everyone.
717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: have a question about cancel a transaction on: December 26, 2023, 09:19:36 PM
Difficulty adjustment right now isn't that much so if OP can simply put his TXID here, we can see if it's already confirmed or not. And depending on the fees on how low it is because it is also changing from time to time.

I don’t think difficulty adjustment has much of a thing to do about bitcoin congestion. Rather it is to adjust the average time it is expected to get a block confirmed to the default time of 10 minutes. This changes is caused by either a higher hashrate or a lower one. This adjustment helps to keep in check some bitcoin protocols like the halving period which happens every four years. The only thing that actually reduces the congestion on the mempool is when lesser transactions are made.

Also it is not just advisable to OP to just show his TXID everywhere as it can affect its privacy rather he can simply use the block explorer himself to check the status of the transaction
That's just if he doesn't know how to accelerate it and someone can do it for him but then, I don't disagree with you because you're right that his privacy will be defeated if he shared it to us. I don't have any bad intention with that because we usually see newbies don't know how to accelerate their transactions and aren't aware that they've paid so low fee.

That's true, so plan your transactions and pay what's being required and/or use viabtc's help as long as your transaction is suiting the requirement of it for being accelerated.

With this tip, I recommend using ViaBTC's paid service. I tried using their free service once and it takes an awful lot of time to have one free chance to accelerate your transaction.
I've used it for many instances and it did really helped me the most. But as the fees are adjusting again and they're increasing as per checking it, the free acceleration is always out and that's why if someone like OP or anyone out there wants to use the free one, you'll need to be faster than anyone else before it refreshes to 00:00 time.

There is Binance's transaction accelerator, too, though they use flat fees most of the time and it's a lot more expensive to use than ViaBTC's service. There used to be tons of free transaction accelerator services out there, but apparently most have disappeared or become paid once the problem with high transaction fees began to linger bitcoin recently.
I've used Binance accelerator too and it did helped me as well with my so loooong stucked transaction. It is more expensive but I'd say that it's worth the buck for the delay that it has caused me.
718  Other / Off-topic / Re: Crypto is a scam on: December 26, 2023, 07:07:03 PM
@OP, you're wrong. The main point of crypto which started with Bitcoin is all about transfers like remittances(P2P transfers) and from there, you'll not be able to justify about the gap and of rich and the poor because there's no thing such as that comparison you've mentioned. Do you have something where you're pulling off this disappointment of yours? Like the fees of btc transfers now aren't cheap and this makes you think that there's something wrong with what you believe? If you're the type of guy that believes that you'll be an overnight rich guy because of crypto, gone are days that you'll able to do so like being one of the earliest adopter of Bitcoin. But even the early adopters of Bitcoin, many of them didn't thought on how big it will be this time.
719  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL!! the origin story on: December 26, 2023, 05:33:06 PM
When GameKyuubi wrote it, he's drunked. And in some other forums when I've accidentally saw it, people even made some meaning about it. They said, hold on for dear life. It's funny but it makes sense that this legend have even made people its own meanign which is just plainly a misspelled word for simply hold or holding.

so I will like for the community to educate me more and others too if any other famous Bitcoin word was formed here also and also correct and add too if there is any detail I missed out too
I don't know about the others but if you want to know more about these words, there are several websites that has listed its own glossary of terms: BITCOIN GLOSSARY OF TERMS
720  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your feelings if Bitcoin price takes your expectations unaware on: December 25, 2023, 11:34:25 PM
That situation is happening at most times but not this time as the volatility of Bitcoin doesn't seem to go that way. But definitely, we'll get to see and experience that soon. It won't be a problem to me if I seen it moved that much and have to correct so quick because I've missed a lot of times like that but it won't break my patience while waiting for it to be back. If you're short term, you're mostly affected by it because you have missed it so another time should be allotted on it until you see it come again. But if you've been used to this movement of Bitcoin and price actions, will it still matter to you? I guess not.
