My deposit showed up. I don't like to think it was just me posting on here, but if it was and someone was monitoring, thanks Smiley
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: August 06, 2017, 05:31:46 PM
I'm in the surprisingly opposite situation.

Trying to get coin INTO Poloniex, sent some FLDC to Polo

Blockchain is showing it as received and confirmed into the Poloniex wallet, but the web site isn't showing it in there.

Heres the tx info: https://xchain.io/tx/1026903

If anyone from Poloniex is actually reading this, my ticket number is #355295

Its not a large amount, but it helps subsidise my electricity costs.

This is only my second time using this exchange, first time it went smooth as. This time, I've had one response from customer support then nothing.

724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 03, 2017, 10:01:18 PM
in case this was already asked, please be patient I am not a techi and the whole stuff is hardly for me to understand. Can I simply now transfer my bitcoins from electrum to a new wallet and then I can see my BCH? Or how will I be able to see my BCH?

Bitcoin cash is on a different blockchain network, so the wallet on that network is frozen in time from when it was cloned when the split happened. to get your BitcoinCash coins the steps you need to take are:

1. Create a new BTC wallet, with a new private key
2. Transfer all your BTC from the old wallet to the new one, and don't use the old wallet again for BTC.
3. Export the keys from the old BTC wallet
4. On another computer, or Virtual machine, create a new BitcoinCash wallet, using a BCH compatible wallet software from https://www.bitcoincash.org/ by importing the keys from the old BTC wallet.

After doing this your Bitcoincash will show up in the BitcoinCash wallet on the new machine and your BTC will be safe in a new wallet that the BitcoinCash network blockchain knows nothing about.

Fellow poolers,

I was wondering why my bitcoin wallet does not register payments coming from the pool, it has been several days that my balance is more than 0.0001 and have not received anything.

P.S I am using electrum so maybe I didnt set it up correctly?

https://kano.is/index.php?k=payout

Because we haven't found many blocks yet this month, plus it depends on how long you have been mining to know how much of each block you will get. You have to have been mining for 5 days to reach peak payout.

So each block found has to reach 101+ confirmations on the network, before the transactions go out to pay out to the miners, and even then it has to wait for the next block to be found after it has reached 101+ confirmations because then we confirm it ourselves on the pool.
726  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: August 03, 2017, 08:42:49 AM
Actually, I think when I posted that earlier, they weren't sold out, they just were not accepting BTC so you couldn't order them. I suspect they became live on the site once they started accepting BTC again and sold out very fast.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 03, 2017, 06:40:38 AM
Label me as NUTs, or a friken skeptic; but for some reason I find none of those Bcash wallets as quasi-trustworthy, except for Trezor and Ledger.    Yet Trezor proclaims that they have been compromised by some bad  actor, possibly, and no longer providing the Bcash wallets - until some future undetermined date, and Ledger hardware does not seem to be shipping until September 4  - or after that date (a long time in bitcoin landia)

https://www.bitcoincash.org/

I suppose that part of the reason that OP described ways (that I still find confusing) to keep private keys that are used from bitcoin separate from private keys used for the purpose of claiming Bcash.  So it seems like the essence is that even though we transfer merged  coins from an old (legacy) wallet to a newly created wallet, we are only using the private keys of the old wallet to claim the BCash and if some evil player wanted to go back to get our real bitcoin using the old private keys, they would find that wallet empty and our split bitcoin are thereafter residing in a newly created wallet with newly created private keys that have not been exposed to any of the Bcash wallet providers that allowed us to claim our Bcash - - maybe at the same time, we then need to move the Bcash again after claiming them?

I'm going through the scenarios, and I have not split my blockchain.info coins yet and I have thought that I could wait for the ledger nano s to ship - even though it might be too late by then.. I mean Bcash may then be worth a fraction of its current price - sub .05BTC I suspect.

Your missing the part that protects your existing BTC. Before you transfer your keys to the new Bcash wallet you empty your BTC to a totally new wallet with new keys. Then it doesn't matter what someone does with your old keys, on the BTC network the coins are no longer in the wallet associated with those keys.

728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 03, 2017, 01:12:01 AM
No the coins need to have been either in an online wallet that had the facility to split the coins for you, or you needed to have them in a wallet where you controlled the private keys *before* the split happened. As the split blockchain will only recognise the wallets addresses and totals that existed when it split.
729  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: August 02, 2017, 04:42:22 PM
In case anyone missed it, Bitmain opened sales for a 14TH/s S9 shipping between October 10-20 listed at $1141 (before shipping / customs fees / etc...). I'm pretty sure this is the only batch since batch 1 to reach 14TH/s.

Looks sold out already.

I moved all BTC into a BTC.com wallet.  They've implemented a tool to split out your BCC for you.  I know there are other ways to do it with your hard wallet backup seed, but this way was pretty easy and painless.  You just need a BCC wallet set up before splitting.  I sent the new BCC directly to a HitBTC exchange account as they already accept BCC transactions.  I'm sure many more will accept BCC in the near future though.

---------------------------

On another note, new batch of 14TH S9's currently up on Bitmain.

I assume you moved your BTC to the online BTC.com wallet before the network split though right?
731  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: August 02, 2017, 02:48:47 PM
What the hell is up with payouts? Why are 3 day payouts still not confirmed or sent out? Am I missing something here or did they stop payouts around the whole Aug 1'st drama.

Not sure about antpool, but hashnest have stopped all services till the 3rd Aug, there was a post on the bitmain forum.

The BIP148 split was a no-sho it seems, everyone had already moved to BIP91

The Bitcash hard fork happens around 12:20 UTC today. Thats when there should be some ripples.

Well...   goodbye Slush.  I *LOVE* your site, stats, interface, etc. - but after 5+ days with no payout (when I was averaging 2 days between payouts) and no communication as to why the HORRIBLE luck recently I've moved to Kano.

Hmm, yeah our pool's luck has been shit lately. Most rounds are averaging 12+ hrs. I'm not really happy about this either but kano would likely be worse - ie rounds will be even longer! I totally understand you though and hopefully kano work better for you.

Not worse, easy to check too. https://kano.is/index.php?k=blocks

This is our 2nd of BLOCK FRIDAY! Cheesy Cheesy

I thought we'd have a payout with the last block. The last block I got paid for was 476607. Am I out of sync, or is that right? Thanks for any input!  Grin

Mine on!  Cheesy

476729 and 476772 payments are still confirming it apears.

Throwing some more hash at the pool. Should be up to full speed in a few days. Not massive like some, but for me its a solid increase.

739  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Large Order at BitMAIN (Guys need your help) on: July 20, 2017, 07:08:07 AM
You got it wrong.
Not me thinking its not safe, rather I need to tell my investors to buy BTC when I already told them to put 284K in BANK and transfer to Bitmain

Now I have to change things with them, people dont like change.

Why do you have to tell your investors to buy btc? Just buy the btc yourself with the 284k in the bank and then use the btc to buy the hardware from bitmain.

So my questions are:

Can I still use Coinbase address for Kano since bitcoin transaction will be temporarily suspended?
Coinbase will temporarily suspend all bitcoin transactions. When will it resume?

Thanks for your answers!

Seems to me you should be asking Coinbase these questions.

Or asking themselves why they would use an online wallet?
