721  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Open Transactions Server: Asset/Bond/Commodity/Cryptocoin/Deed/Share/Stock Exch. on: April 13, 2012, 10:46:04 PM
Was thinking would use OT to allow people to move their assets off GLBSE (for ones that were created on GLBSE).

I'ts been a year since I've looked at OT.

Should work no problem right?

I'll go if someone wants to pay for entry fees and air travel costs...from London.
723  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - request for next features on: April 11, 2012, 06:56:56 PM
what about refining contracts / assets as such?
might be not trivial change like improve reporting or display the books but ...

nice to know which asset is a share in a company, which is a bond, which is a fund
they could have then type induced special features

please do not dismiss it right away, it could start with a simple label (share/bond/fund investment) and feature could follow, just to root this design feature or at least think of it how it could fit in
(this might be important for future assets, p.ex. they should have different IPO rules if glbse is to mimic real world markets)

I was going to add simple labels, and from there add special functionality.
724  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - request for next features on: April 11, 2012, 05:23:36 PM
I vote for making it look a bit more 'slick'. Looks a dogs dinner right now.
Go get a graphic designer on the case Smiley

 Cry
725  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - request for next features on: April 11, 2012, 04:32:15 PM
Some totals of currently displayed information might be a nice touch.  On my account, I'd like to see total fees paid and it would also be cool to see the total amount of BTC volume on the exchange on the "shares" list.

EDIT: Might I also say that I am quite impressed at the speed in which you are improving the exchange.  I keep throwing up new feature ideas, mostly because you keep adding them so quickly.   Smiley

GLBSE 2.1 is going to be a big improvement.... looks wise, and should be much more usable.
726  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - request for next features on: April 11, 2012, 04:12:30 PM
ask / bid per asset available as a 'ticker' - not sure what the name should be but something like
call to http(s)://glbse.com/asset/view/ABC/summary
would return {ABC; 0.26060004; 0.2999}
instead of having to check the whole web page to see if someone put a sathoshi higher bid just a simple check ; )

This would be part of the API

how far off are we from having an API?

The next update, GLBSE 2.1 is what I'm calling it.

Will have a few new features (not many, but the API will be one), a new face, bugs removed, and improved charts.

Well I don't know, like I said, IANAL

Better safe than sorry.
729  Other / Archival / Re: Intersango Scam on: April 11, 2012, 03:16:22 PM

Well the supposed evidence is from when I asked your guy on Skype how long would it take for funds to be received at the Silk Road if sent. Is this enough evidence that I've been using your service for illegal purposes? Your meagre 42 word provision certainly doesn't exactly draw a line as to what "may" constitute to a contravention of the law and what may not.

Firstly laws are many, and complicated, laying out exactly what is not allowed according to every law under the sun Intersango operates under isn't really possible.

Secondly, you asked them about how long it will take to get your bitcoins to SilkRoad?

Not  the smartest thing in the world to do.

Thats like going to a bank and asking them how long to transfer funds to your dealers account (not that I'm calling Intersango a bank, but you know what I mean).

I'm not exactly sure if SilkRoad is illegal or not (probably is in the US, again I don't know IANAL), but I am sure that if it wasn't running on Tor then it would be shut down pronto, and all the information on it would be used to arrest as many people as possible.

Sending bitcoins to SR itself isn't illegal, but the only things you can buy there, generally are illegal, so it seems not only did you violate the TOS, but you went and told them you did.

Word of advice (to all) don't tell your exchange you're sending bitcoins to SilkRoad, or anything even remotely illegal, it's a bad idea.
730  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: April 10, 2012, 10:38:58 PM
the graph in asset view is rounding the trade price to 3 decimal places
bug or feature?

and could be volume added to the graph as a second indicator in the picture, please?

The rounding is a problem using Google graphs, the data being sent is not rounded, but Google charts seems to round them out.

We'll be moving to much better graphs, that also include trade volume as well.
731  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BFLS - Bitcoin Mining & Sales on: April 10, 2012, 10:33:26 PM
Can those assets be folded back into the main one at some point or are they a totally separate entity and they just happen to share a common portion of a name?  And is there a $40 fee per subasset as well?

Sub assets are totally separate entities and share only part of the name.

They cannot be rolled back into the main asset.

Creation fees are still the same.
732  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BFLS - Bitcoin Mining & Sales on: April 10, 2012, 08:48:14 PM
To create a sub asset you just create the asset as normal, the only difference is the assets name.

So lets say your base asset is GLBSE and you want to create a sub asset called BOND
you would name the new asset GLBSE.BOND

Only the owner of GLBSE could create GLBSE.BOND
733  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust on: April 10, 2012, 06:49:57 PM
I'm kind of sad it's no longer called First Pirate Savings & Trust.  Sad

+10
On the plus side, it does mean the name is now available for use :p
734  Other / Archival / Re: Intersango Scam on: April 10, 2012, 06:11:47 PM
You've not been scammed, Intersango have a process for dealing with issues that come up, some of them are fast to resolve some are not.

Just give them some more time, I'm sure it will get resolved.
735  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: April 10, 2012, 02:48:07 PM
is there an exploitable bug the forum.glbse ?
some dude just posted a bazilion spam posts that should not be possible
(it if the 2min limit would be still applied)

Nope, just someone who patiently took the time to make all those posts which are now deleted.
736  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: April 10, 2012, 01:50:55 PM
To all pre-sale purchasers: All bonds have been distributed at this time.

Congratulations on very successful IPO.
737  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: April 10, 2012, 01:48:34 PM
Ah, yes. of course. It would be nice to have it on GLBSE itself, and it a format that is exportable to a spreadsheet.

The graph on the assets page shows the price of trades over the entire history of the asset, bringing your pointer over the line will show you the exact price and time of trade.
738  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: April 10, 2012, 01:25:38 PM
Well, in any case, this was a good stress test for GLBSE. Server didn't go down, but it dropped a decent amount of pings and was slow to respond at times.

Full trade history is available on our twitter feed
739  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - TOS Discussion Thread. on: April 10, 2012, 04:28:55 AM
Now if anyone involved in this maintains a financial certification or title, that might change their personal risk situation.

Not quite sure what you mean.
740  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: GLBSE IPO Handling and Interaccount Transfers Discussion Thread. on: April 10, 2012, 04:27:48 AM
Maybe we could ask Zhou Tong to create the Bitcoinica of GLBSE. Smiley

Shudder.

More seriously though I think we're too small for him to be interested.
