As those bids build up, we're going to see a bit more upward pressure soon...
743  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 15, 2013, 04:12:51 PM
Remember back in June 2012 when it looked like it got stuck at $7 resistance?  Well, we broke through that time and 30k BTC of walls got bought up.  Wink

You think you can predict network crises with wedges?

Applause for the whole forum.

This was handled awesomely.

Except for the speculation forum Wink

confidence in the whole network. Bad in technical sense, very bad in psychological sense.

see, there's the problem.  this whole thing is based on emotions.

I was panicking a few minutes ago but asked around.  The issue will be over in a few hours, and any crash will be momentary.  Only 11 blocks or so were affected and it'll all be over very quickly.  By tomorrow morning, we are back to business as usual.

Maybe we see a temporary dip, but that'll resolve eventually, because this issue is not really a big deal except for now.  We don't see many hard forks and I'm sure the devs will be much more cautious in the future after this has happened.

(5) No daily red candles at all from the crash.

You've got one now.

Tiny red candle on Sunday.. might even be good news
752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 10, 2013, 11:47:59 PM
Here it comes, the big rally.  The longest green candle yet.  We are going to see an explosion this week that will put us at $55 at least.
753  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Current demand: 191 shares] Paying .58 per share of ASICMINER on: March 10, 2013, 10:47:20 PM
update: 90 shares wanted at .63 each.

It is sort of interesting that MPOE is adopting the carrot-and-stick approach so blatantly.  First they congratulate ASICMINER and subtly hint that coughcough Bitfountain should become an MPOE client.  After Bitfountain refuses and PTs go up on other exchanges, MPOE-PR quickly goes sour!  I suppose "mismanagement" means "fuck you, you didn't host on our exchange."

If MPOE-PR really believes this, let's give them some rope to hang themselves!  I will offer MPOE-PR the ability to short some of my many shares and I am sure we can reach a suitable arrangement.
756  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 10, 2013, 01:37:15 AM
bought, as will be the $50 walls Smiley
757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Financial Risk Analytics-Subscription Service on: March 10, 2013, 01:28:18 AM

When the term was first used, a rocket happened from $3.2 to $4.5... I remember it very well.
Things have changed, eh? Smiley
758  Economy / Speculation / Re: Financial Risk Analytics-Subscription Service on: March 09, 2013, 11:54:27 PM
$50

Rocket is taking off Grin
759  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 09, 2013, 11:48:45 PM
This much upward pressure during the weekend.   Shocked

I'm sorry Adam.   Cry

Yea, it makes me excited/fearful of the rocket that will launch on Monday!

More likely Tuesday, I think.

Wednesday Wink

edit: I really should note that the recent correction and the looming ask walls should not look scary to anyone at all.  Here are some reasons

(1) Asks below $50 are down from 60k to 37k now, in one day.
(2) Though before the correction, bids were thin and the rally was unsustainable, we now have >25k coins above $40.
(3) We've recovered most of the ground that was covered in the crash.  We're almost at $47 right now.
(4) Bids are at an ALL TIME HIGH, $5.4 million.
(5) No daily red candles at all from the crash.
(6) This is all what happened over the weekend... imagine what it's going to be like when new money comes in. Smiley

Hello everyone,

With the advent of the passthroughs, I am dropping support for this orderbook and focusing on passthrough trading.  However, zefir has generously offered to take over orderbook maintenance. Smiley

Thank you zefir!
