Conclusion seemed positive:

So are alternative currencies a passing phenomenon that will fade away with the end of the financial crisis, or do they mark a significant change in how the global economic system is built?  To the scriptwriters of The Good Wife the answer is clear: "I bought bitcoins yesterday; they don't feel real," said Julianna Margulies to Jason Biggs in the Bitcoin episode. Biggs nonchalantly replied, "Real's about to change."
1205  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Open Ended Investment Opportunity on: April 21, 2012, 04:32:51 PM
also I see that you are part of the GLBSE PPT cabal, are any of these OEIO funds being fed through in to Pirate's S&T, or are they completely isolated from any risk there or associated with P's borrowing? In other words do you guarantee the funds lent to you here in the event of a P default?

This OEIO isn't a FPS&T arb.  I do retain some holdings at FPS&T but its only for idle coins I don't have in play for other things.  THIS OEIO has been used to expand my mining operation (just yesterday purchased another 5GH of gpus), to take advantage of various market arbs, as well as some short term loans to various parties.  My exposure to PPT is currently 100 BTC and will always be a measured risk shared with the other 5 parties.

You should probably come up with a name for the "OEIO."  Wink

1208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: April 21, 2012, 12:40:22 AM
I'm going to hold off on buying back in on the hope that we make it back down to $5.15.

you should seriously consider 5.23

I'm actually lowering my bids.  I'm expecting a large sell-off.  I think we're going to go under $5 again.

The moment we break out of this 4.50 - 5.50 ping pong, you're in huge trouble.
1209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: April 20, 2012, 11:45:01 PM
oops, we made a new high after that little drop everyone was worried about

Don't worry, it'll continue Smiley

Does nobody believe in long-term trends anymore?

1213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GLBSE darknet mirror. on: April 18, 2012, 11:29:12 PM
Just the couple of experts I spoke to said I2P was a more secure design but currently more vulnerable than Tor to attack due to Tor being a bigger network.  Like I said before I was also in favour of a .onion site as well.  Sorry for the confusion can we stay on topic.
Either they are government agents that lied to you on purpose, or just dumb. I2P is not more secure then Tor(they are about equal)
my personal opinion is that tor is most secure, because of simpler and cleaner code(and of course its more used, but that not relevant when we are talking about the underlying systems).

staying on topic from now on.

Also the US gov (some parts of it anyway) also have good reason to be able to do things without being seen, it's why the CIA or some other agency is quite happy about Bitcoin.

I'm anarcho-socialist so not a big fan of the US or any government really both the UK and US governments are bordering fascist regimes these days both the big parties who can only win the elections are basically the same fighting for the rights of banks ect above the average person needs.  Sorry off-topic again  Undecided  Please don't all attack me back now for mentioning I'm a anarchist which I have to put socialist after to explain my stand point.  I'm a big-fan of bitcoin please all leave it at that  Lips sealed

Hey, that is pretty interesting.  You're a socialist, yet you support GLBSE, which is a stock market?  Smiley

1215  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANNOUNCE GLBSE] Pirate Pass Through Bonds on: April 17, 2012, 01:35:30 PM
If you do not scroll down the insert in ineedausername's post you miss the tl;dr summary:

Quote
As one example [of what the full chart shows] if you think Pirate has a 15% chance of defaulting you are expected to break even on bids under or at 1.12.

If you have a Pirate invite you should:

Code:
bid under 1.04 if you have >2000 BTC
bid under 1.12 if you have >500 BTC
bid under 1.16 if you have >100 BTC

(note that those last three bid limits assume a 15% chance of defaulting, too)

Another table!

edit: OgNasty deleted from table at his request.

Code:
I've deleted the table pending better wording, as many people (or I!) misunderstood what exactly
the numbers in it meant.
