1241  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust on: April 10, 2012, 04:04:12 PM
i think i asked this right at the start of the thread somewhere but would like to ask again... is there a maximum allowable account balance?

If there is, it's OVER 9000!11!!!111!!!!!!!

It's at least 25kBTC.

Wow, someone has that much?!
1242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Evidence for Goat lying on his TyGrr-Bank operation? on: April 10, 2012, 04:02:04 PM
So, as of now he has over 4k there and even with 2k he only would have gained a balance of 2.68k.

And since he chose not to reinvest, the balance shouldn't have increased at all.
1243  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Evidence for Goat lying on his TyGrr-Bank operation? on: April 10, 2012, 04:00:19 PM
He's saying he may have been overpaid. How do you know that the amount shouldn't be less? Perhaps half?

Because he wasn't overpaid.

Goat chose not to reinvest with pirate, but for accounting reasons, pirate sent out 7% interest payments to both the accounts and the wallets of the people who chose not to reinvest.  He says he'll take the payments away later.

So 285 = 7%.

1245  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitLotto is 1 yr old! Apr 4 jackpot *280 BTC*! Otoh bought 400 tickets for May! on: April 09, 2012, 05:50:47 PM
Cap the fucking ticket limit, How the fuck can anyone who doesnt own 100 tickets win? "because if you have a ticket you have a chance"
Yeah well i think the guy who BOUGHT the odds is an asshole, Fully understandable that anyone with simmilar capabilities would've done the same, But c'mon he had like a 20% chance to win
Sure "he still could've lost" But let's change the ratio, Say he Continued to buy shitloads of tickets, He could crank up his chance to win as high as 99%!
Lol. It wouldn't have mattered if 400 guys bought at 0.25 each or 1 guy bought at 100btc. The odds for the others is still the same. See the logic yet?
LOL As predicted here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=34007.msg835161#msg835161

I am sure he is not the only one with this misconception - just the only one so far to post about it.  It is an easy mistake to make.  I did for a minute before thinking it through and that is why I posted about it.  Emotion versus Math!

I had the same misconception for a minute too.  Amazing how the brain screws you over sometimes Sad

1250  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoinduit is back from the dead! on: April 08, 2012, 04:33:40 AM
Any chance we can get one of these for Litecoin?

Litecoin would be the perfect token throwaway for this game.

I'm on it Smiley

Wow, Bitcoinduit's going off tonight!  One hour, and tons of deposits already!
1251  Economy / Gambling / BITCOINDUIT -- The ponzi game! on: April 08, 2012, 03:36:54 AM
Bitcoinduit is a site where you can make your own Ponzi scheme!  We turned a scam into a game Smiley

Here's how it works:

1. Make a round or deposit in a round.
2. Other people deposit in your round hoping to get paid by later depositors or to get the jackpot (the prize that goes to the last depositor).  The jackpot serves as an incentive for people to keep depositing in longer games.
3. You get money from them!  You will receive your deposit plus whatever ROI the round had.

What are you waiting for?

Bitcoinduit

1254  Economy / Lending / Re: I am looking to borrow 15,000 BTC to expand my current bussiness. on: April 06, 2012, 08:57:47 PM
I noticed that straight out of the newbie section you headed right to Lending too.

Except he was handing out loans, not begging for them.
Have you seen so many scammers that you don't even think before judging people?

1257  Economy / Lending / Re: I am looking to borrow 15,000 BTC to expand my current bussiness. on: April 05, 2012, 04:11:43 PM
So please explain to me how you would consider this a scam.

I don't consider it anything. I am asking if this is a 419. No idea where you live but in my country you'll get 3.5% or better given the collateral you claim to have. What's the reason you offer 15% then?

yup, because asking whether it's a 419 will help you determine whether it's a 419
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Free Market, a Real World Test Case on: April 05, 2012, 01:34:53 PM
Lol the great bitcoin economy indeed. The largest industry in BTC is drugs, followed by gambling, followed by porn, then a file trading site and a few people selling trinkets on bitmit. At least some of the banks are decent, not including MtGox.

Decent, huh?  Why aren't drugs, gambling and porn decent, in Your Excellency's opinion?

1DW4mtFwkLAbfc4ZBvcXypeV6NhfDryrni Is one of mine.  I had a total of 33.25 BTC in.  I don't know where the leet came from.  I guess it was a tip from someone.

My current plan is to buy two BFL Singles with the jackpot.

Interesting.  Your address is oddly familiar to me, do I know you?
1260  Economy / Lending / Re: I am looking to borrow 15,000 BTC to expand my current bussiness. on: April 04, 2012, 11:27:34 PM
First it was single-digit loans, then it was 3-digit loans, and now we're going into 5 figures Smiley
This is the first major use of Bitcoin outside SR, I believe.
