I am not just talking about the direct taxes that the BCCI pay to the government. There are indirect taxes as well. For example, when Star Sports or some other channel broadcast a particular match, they need to pay taxes. When some advertiser shows his ad during these matches, they need to pay the taxes. The indirect taxes related to IPL may be 10 times or 20 times larger than the direct tax total.
Earlier i told about the direct tax the government gets from alcohol alone and if you take a look at the indirect tax they get from hotel and other industry then it will be pale in comparison. I am not claiming that it is not generating any tax but if you claim that cricket is generating a fair share for the Indian economy then these are not the facts as BCCI is just a part of the larger picture.

For more clarity fiscal year 2019, ₹14.60 trillion was collect as tax while BCCI was supposed to pay ₹1303 crore while they only paid ₹462 crore.

Do you think BCCI needs compliment for that, everyone is bound to pay the tax and if they are getting money why do they need exemption, i want everyone to be treated equally Wink.

In countries such as India and Bangladesh, the sports sector is huge. And in most cases, the government taxes them very heavily. They have the option to suspend the sporting events until the situation gets better. But the economic loss is going to be huge. This is one of the aspects of the economy, which never gets its own fair share of compliment. Just check how much tax revenue goes to the Indian government after each edition of the IPL, and you'll get an idea of what I meant.
Looks like you are underestimating the amount of money the government is getting from other sectors as tax, the BCCI is not even paying the entire tax levied upon them and they are asking for exemptions and the income tax department asked them to pay 1303 crore and they are yet to pay everything.

Do you know that the government collect 1,75,501.42 crore as tax from alcohol alone and you are talking about a small percentage BCCI is paying as tax as a huge revenue for the government and that too they are asking for tax exemptions Roll Eyes.

If you are not one of those football hooligans, I don't see a valid reason for not staying at home and watching the match on TV. With 5 million people infected across the globe, this pandemic is not a joke. It is the responsibility of the government to push economy back on track. But that doesn't mean that they are going to allow tens of thousands of fans to crowd around in the cricket stadiums, where the average distance between two fans will be somewhere in the vicinity of 2cm.
Not sure when the cricket will be back, even if they plan to resume there is no way we are going to see audience participation especially in Asian countries where you get a huge crowd for every match. The government is responsible to push the economy back on tract especially the manufacturing sector but they have nothing to do with sporting events.
744  Local / India / Re: ZebPay is back? on: May 17, 2020, 10:39:32 PM
RBI has uplifted the ban but that is not permanent the judgment is still ongoing so there could be a chance that RBI could reinforce the ban again. So we can't say that ZebPay is completely back.
The judgement is to lift the banking ban of companies and so is the reason all the companies started functioning like it used to be in the past. That means RBI cannot reinforce the ban as it is not superior than the supreme court judgement, the option they have is to take things legally and present a case that is illegal to begin as the central bank has no power to restrict a business to function.
745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Play? on: May 11, 2020, 10:15:54 PM
If something like this exist, will you still play? Do you think it is a bad idea to make the users make a donation in this way?
I have not seen any site that will dare to do these kind of charity events as it will back fire big time and the site will find it hard to attract new visitors if you are having any stipulations. I have seen gambling sites giving away funds for charity which is also a kind of promotion from their profits they made and not forcing anyone to provide. My take is, never force things.
746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 10, 2020, 11:32:38 PM
Still surprised that Tony had lost. I thought that he will play as usual, hold a lot of strikes, wait till opponent ran out of stamina and win.
But yesterday... Maybe this lost is because he did not fight for a long time? Maybe he was unsettled with all that covid-19, events being cancelled, then organised again and that kind of stuff. I didnt see fire in his eyes, he looked so disappointed or sad during the fight (imho). Maybe his mental problem returned?
I am yet to watch the fight but the results was shocking for me, even i was thinking Tony to win the fight in later rounds while Gaethje burns himself out and Gaethje changed his game plan and shocked everyone winning in the 5th round. What was the odds for Gaethje to win my TKO in the 5 th round i am sure the odds would have been huge.
747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 10, 2020, 11:21:06 PM
Coming to other teams, do we really think that Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Windies were taking Test format seriously? I doubt that..
It might be not about taking things seriously, the lack of talent to play the longer format or the lack of capacity of a cricket board to find good test caliber players is the problem here. Even the mindset of the young generation changed and they want to play only attacking cricket and test players will be ancient history in the next decade.

Atleast after "Test Championship" they are trying as their series has some sort of meaning due to point table, Its not enough but that's a start.
There are results in test matches in the past 2 years unlike earlier where majority of the matches end up in a draw and the Test Championship will help a bit in playing attacking cricket rather than going for a draw.

748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto casinos pros and cons on: May 10, 2020, 11:01:36 PM
You can actually stay out of any infections that might spread through person to person contact
You are saving your petrol charges 😂 , so don't worry about paying transaction fee once .
Wide variety of interactive games , that can be played even on mobile .
OP is not asking about the advantages of playing in a real casino rather he is asking about the advantages of crypto and fiat based casinos.

          Some demands KYC
You don't get the hands on experience that some might want .
You gotta make your own food and serve yourself sitting alone in your room 😂
KYC is a negative aspect in a crypto based casinos, but in that too there is a positive aspect as they only ask for verification from users who are exploiting the casino.

@OP i am mostly in sports gambling and the main difference i can say is that fiat based have more option and odds than crypto based. The rest crypto reigns supreme.
749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What has been your longest streak of dice losses using martingale ..? on: May 02, 2020, 11:59:37 PM
I’m just trying to collect some data, also I guess this post will be useful for the rest of the forum users.

In my case, in 2018 I loss 32 times one after another using the dice system on freebitco.in.
As carlfebz2 mentioned there is a thread for you collect more information, for the response i usually use a bot with a lower base bet and 16 loosing streak is common and then rarely you will get 32 plus loosing streaks and my record is 40 and busting everything, these are way back in 2016 in bitsler and primedice.

Here is Pakistan team for 1992 Word Cup as this was not favorite or good team at the time but they done really miracle and won this world cup
Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Saleem Malik, Rameez Raja, Aamir Sohail, Zahid Fazal, Inzimam-ul-Haq, Ijaz Ahmed, Moin Khan, Wasim Akram, Aaqib Javed, Mushtaq Ahmed, Wasim Haider, Iqbal Sikandar, Head Coach Intikhab Alam.
Imran Khan selected a team with young players along with experienced players like Javed Miandad and i remember Inzimam-ul-Haq was the trump card as he was sent to score quick runs and even though Waqar Younis missed the tournament due to injury, Wasim Akram and Aaqib Javed spear headed the bowling department with Mushtaq Ahmed as the main spinner .

But they can easily manage schedule as Olympics comes after 4 years and 2-3 weeks window is not too much.
If the ICC or the national cricket boards say they are representing the country then they should find a solution as this is the best opportunity for several countries to win a medal at the Olympics especially India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan who have not won many medals in a global event like Olympics Grin. The truth is that the fans are patriotic but the cricket boards are business oriented.
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 01, 2020, 10:05:04 PM
Hmm.. if your claim is true, then there is a good chance that the footage was lost. Digital video cameras came in to existence only in 1993 (Ampex DCT). Before that, the digital cameras could only capture pictures. And for capturing video, you had to depend upon the old school cameras, which used film rolls. But I just hope that this footage is preserved somewhere. It means a lot for Indians.
I have no idea about those and we have not seen anyone claiming in recent years about having the videos and it is possible that those videos will be stored in someones garrage or the videos will be lost forever, but who knows we might see the video uploaded in the future as we have seen old videos of Bradman playing getting uploaded in Youtube and in the future we might hopefully get those videos.

I am not sure about this, but I don't think that this is true. Back then (in 1983), the video cameras used to be giant-sized equipment operating on film rolls. And since BBC had the right to broadcast the matches, others were not allowed to record them. There were a few journalists who were allowed to click a few pictures, but that was it. And also, in case someone had recorded that match, then definitely it would have appeared in some of the video streaming sites. It has been 37 years!!!
It is true that professional cameras were huge and none captured the match using a professional camera but there were reports that audience captured the match and how much video is available is not clear and it has been 37 years and you cannot expect the video to be uploaded just like that, there are many vintage sporting videos that are not yet uploaded in streaming sites but that does not mean that they are not available Wink.
754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 27, 2020, 05:00:31 PM
Yeah, you are right but i was just painting the overall picture that Subcontinent teams (Indian team) used to get different treatment back then.
The reason during that time England and Australia were the powerful cricket boards as they controlled the game and then West Indies came into the scene with powerful performance under the leadership of Clive Lloyd and some world class players and started dominated Australia and England and India was not even viewed as a competitor nor does any other Asian team and then came the 1983 World Cup and none of the bookies gave India a chance to be in the final let alone win the tournamnet but Kapil Dev had other plans and that victory opened cricket to the world and in this thread people are talking about the dominance of BCCI in world cricket and it all happened because of the 1983 World cup team under Kapil Dev.
755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEOs from binance not worth holding ? on: April 27, 2020, 10:43:54 AM
Since many are saying that IEO is the best initial offering in crypto space today, most especially if they are from top exchange then I started looking for IEO from top exchange,
The first and foremost thing you need to understand is that scammers will get hold of new techniques to make money, now everyone knows the shit show the ICO market made, the ICO was a novel idea but then it was swarmed with scammers trying to loot the money and that will be the case with IEO, if you really want to take the risk, invest and get out and never hold for a long time as you never know how long it will last.
756  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s second corona wave can it crush it’s economy? on: April 26, 2020, 11:10:46 PM

And most probably the number of cases will continue to increased in this second wave. South Korea as well experienced the second surge and here in our country, second wave of cases are popping. Even those who was positive and cure became positive as well, which obviously remains a mystery for now and we have so much to learn from this virus. In the meantime, even if the quarantine has been lifted in other countries, I will still be cautious at this point though. Really hard to fight an invisible enemy.
The main problem is that the scientfic world is still studying about the virus and the extend in which it can remain in your body, the patients that were cured and then popping again is a huge concern as it shows that the virus can hibernate to such low levels that it will not show while testing and then once you are off the medication it will multiply once again.

~snip
I wrote incorrectly in my message that all patients were discharged from the hospital. This only applied to the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the coronavirus pandemic began last year. I read the news on this topic here: China says all coronavirus patients in Wuhan have now been discharged
I am not buying what they claim, do you seriously think that only 4632 people lost their lives due to this pandemic in China while the rest of the world is struggling to contain the spread and around two hundred thousand people lost their lives in the past few months and the numbers keeps on increasing daily, if they really contained the virus they must know something where the rest of the world is unaware. I am not going into the conspiracy of China creating the virus but how they were able to contain the virus and what are the real figures on the number of patients and their treatment methods and how many lost their lives.
757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 26, 2020, 10:37:13 PM
All that remains of that match are a few photographs. BBC was having the broadcasting rights for the 1983 Cricket World Cup (which was being played in England). Back then, India was being considered as one of the minnows, with West Indies being the overwhelming favorites to win the world cup. On that day, West Indies was playing against Australia and therefore the BBC sent the crew and equipment to cover that match. For them, the India vs Zimbabwe match was not a very important one.
During that period no one was willing to broadcast the match as the matches are too long and on that particular day BBC was having a strike and so is the reason the match was not recorded or broadcasted by the media but the video is recorded by a private individual and was demanding huge amount during that time and after that no idea what happened to that, during that period cricket was not that big and there was not much money involved.

For this particular game ; English media had a very colonial mindset about any Subcontinent team so they didn't bother to cover this game and same goes with the broadcasters.
As mentioned it was not because of the colonist mentality but because of a strike by the staff members with the help of union members which boycoted live events and refused to do the job until their demands were met.
758  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s second corona wave can it crush it’s economy? on: April 26, 2020, 08:45:35 PM
The second wave, and maybe even the third and fourth, we will definitely get later. This infection will return to us several times a year. In the meantime, the reality is that the last person who had a coronavirus was discharged in China today.
I have no idea from where you are getting these information, the last person who was corona positive is discharged means that there are no more patients in China, yet they are publishing how many patients they are identifying every day and yesterday there was 12 patients and today they identified 11 patients and going by that numbers there is no way it was the last patient Tongue.
759  Economy / Speculation / Re: Raoul Pal - Bitcoins to hit one million dollars and warns about US depression on: April 26, 2020, 07:12:00 PM
If the situation he and others posit becomes true (the fiat, banking, economic system is fucked and goes to hell), then sure.
Let us all asume that the depression is predicted just for the US dollar because of the corona virus and i think he forgot the fact that the situation is not better elsewhere around the globe, the European economy will be affected as well as all the developing countries is struggling to cope up with the situation and one thing is certain we will have a global recession. The study is full of flaws just taking into consideration that only the US economy will be doomed after the pandemic.
760  Economy / Economics / Re: China will rule world as economy king after crisis end? on: April 25, 2020, 07:23:05 PM
The Chinese government is the one that has best fought the Covid19 pandemic. The nation has not recorded more deaths from the virus and is already moving its economy as the first step to normality in that nation.
What we have left is to get out of the Coronavirus and work hard to recover the economy.
The reason there is not much recorded death than the rest of the countries is because they are not providing the real data and they are covering up everything, can you logically believe what they are telling when the entire world is struggling and they are providing far less patients and mortality. To get out of the crisis is not easy like we think, most of the countries have lockdowned the manufacturing sector as well as the retail sector and the number of busines that will go bankrupt is really high around the globe and how those can be recovered will be a huge struggle.
