761  Economy / Services / Re: When is a reasonable time to start an escrow service? on: July 16, 2014, 06:34:39 AM
You don't gain trust to become an escrow.
You become an escrow because you have gained trust.
762  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: [ANN] HolyTransaction.com - Universal Cryptocurrency Wallet on: July 15, 2014, 01:52:45 PM
I'm still scared of it being another inputs.io
They had around the same features , properly based too.

However it does seem pretty good for holding tiny amounts of altcoins (like under 10$) , which you can't be forced to download a wallet for.
763  Economy / Services / Re: klee's hacked 1170 btc, Part II on: July 14, 2014, 01:20:14 PM
We should learn from this. I think mixers should require some sort of proof of ownership of bitcoins for mixes of more than 10btc. Mixing over $700,000 worth of bitcoins without asking how he/she obtained them is ridiculous.

If you had just read the previous post , you would have not posted this.

If have 11 BTC and I want my privacy.
There would be no "proof of ownership" you speak of without giving up your personal information.

They don't ask how they are obtained because they are trying to do the exact opposite.
They are trying to eliminate any possible way to trace their client.
Tracing their client first , to eliminate the possible ways to trace them as you say would be hypocritical.

That is true but they burn all their files every twelve hours which we know is true or else klee wouldn't have been screwed so it does not really matter that they have your information because you know that they will not hold onto it.

I didn't say that it would help the government trace their customers.
I said it would be hypocritical.

They will be going against what they stand for , what they do.
Bitmixer will then have 100% information about everyone.

Secondly , how do you prove that you own the Bitcoins ?
764  Economy / Services / Re: Paying 0.02BTC for 10 minutes of your time! on: July 14, 2014, 11:46:26 AM
1- User is decently trusted
2- The reward is around 12$ atm
3- There would be trials below 12$ available.

The offer seems decent , but there are almost no offers available in my region and the few that are available (free trial to some gambling site) are blocked by my ISP. If I do it with a VPN I don't think it will credit.

Otherwise , this seems pretty good for people who can access offers under 5-7$
765  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Want to ask if are there anyone interested in buying a whitelisted account? on: July 14, 2014, 09:51:41 AM
I don't use PD much , but here are some questions you should answer.

1- How would you transfer the account that will stop you from taking it back later ?
2- How much are you looking for ? Give us a ballpark or a starting bid.

767  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: July 13, 2014, 05:06:59 AM
Hey guys , can somebody explain what the collecting payment mechanism is ?

Can you claim payment at any time you get 50 posts ?
Or does your payment get processed only on the 17th , so you should claim payment at 16th or something ?
768  Economy / Gambling / Re: SPORTS BOOK RANKINGS ~ USER GENERATED (PLEASE CONTRIBUTE) on: July 12, 2014, 05:53:13 PM
Add BetVIP ? I'd like to vote on 1.5

DirectBet 4.5

Predictious 3
769  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS and REVIEWS of SPORTS BOOKS thread. Poster input appreciated. on: July 12, 2014, 03:35:08 PM
I personally find DirectBet the best , as it is simple to just get payments to your address as soon as a bet is completed.

On the other hand , DirectBet should not try to change the ratings of Peeps Place.
The ratings are 100% controlled by one single person.

I have no idea on how much "posters rating" affects it , nor is any clear system given.
It could probably be that 1 million poster votes bumps your book by a grade.

Any book rating site that rates books upon the whims of one individual , while claiming to take ratings from everyone (with no proof of doing so) is useless.

770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ** UK & EU Sports Tipping Thread** on: July 12, 2014, 03:26:15 PM
We're a new betting site and a quick money grabbing scam is not what we're here for, we intend to establish a name for ourselves and stay in this business for a very long time - hence, why we actually went out of our way to obtain a license.

Honestly, a sportsbook offering their own predictions will always end up badly in the end.

An unexpectedly long streak of incorrect predictions from an independent organization may be seen as unlucky or as an act of incompetence , but when it is from a sportsbook , ulterior motives are very very easily to assume.

Nobody can prove if this was a "quick money grabbing scam" or not.
It doesn't matter if you are being honest in your picks or not , every wrong pick is a potential site for a inconspicuous scam.

I'd suggest you should distance your sportsbook from your blog , or expect similar accusations after every bad streak , whether intentional or not.
771  Economy / Gambling / Re: International Lottery based upon the Genius of Bitcoin on: July 12, 2014, 03:13:16 PM
Can someone post TL;DR so people don't have to read through all this crap like scam or not scam so we could move on to the next scam Grin

Not a scam , but literally nothing has been set up so far except a webpage with a link to pay them Bitcoin.
If you put any Bitcoin in currently , I'd expect it to disappear , not because its run by scammers , but because they seemingly have no idea what they are doing.
772  Economy / Gambling / Re: International Lottery based upon the Genius of Bitcoin on: July 12, 2014, 03:11:16 PM
I can confirm that OP is Paul Coleman.
He sent me identity verification.

The problem is , I don't have sufficient trust to make this mean enough. Check this thread for a more reputed person to help you out.

I've been convinced that this is legitimate , but you will need more to make it work :-

A - Flesh out your idea

1- I'd like to point out that the idea that you will reach 500,000$ is insane. The most reputed casinos have had maximum winnings of around 200,000$ in a single bet.
I'd say that the maximum you should aim for your first draw should be 1000$ (which still seems higher than the optimum ~200$ I'd feel best)

2- Discuss along with your team/business partner on how everything is going to work. This does not have to be set in stone forever , but you need to have an idea on your first lottery. How many tickets will you sell ? How much will each ticket cost ?

B -Here is my personal opinion of what changes you should make :-

1- Remove the pay with Bitcoin option. Don't take payment without setting anything up. If one single well reputed scam-buster comes and leaves you a negative trust remark , your forum account and website will permanently lose any credibility.

2- Make your FAQ look more professional.

Is this a joke? => What is the International Bitcoin lottery ?
Is this legal? => Take down this section. It makes your company seem illegitimate. You can hire proper lawyers later.
Is this another Mt Gox? => How can I trust you ? / Can I trust you with my Bitcoin ? (Explain on how you have measures to protect peoples' Bitcoin.)

K. How often is there a draw?
When is the first draw?
What's the Jackpot?
What happens if I win?

Change all three of these together into a separate tab or page of your website.
That page should be called "Game Information" and should have all the information about the workings along with including the amount currently invested in tickets and previous draws.
You will need a house edge of 0.5-10% , which will be used for maintainence and for your charitable contributions too.
50% to one winner and 5% to 10 others sounds like 0 house edge. ( 50% to one and 5% to 9 others would be good)

What happens if I win?
This section is okayish.

Can I remain anonymous if I win?
No.
Bitcoin has anonymity as one of its basal pillars. You cannot remove anonymity.
This may help you prove your authenticity , but it would help more if you utilize a provably fair system like on-the chain betting or instead use a live random.org drawing.

Which kinds of causes will you be supporting?
Good section.

Cool, can I help in some way?
Okayish.

C- Setting up security , from you and for you.

You need to set up a reliable system to ensure that you won't get "hacked"
Secondly , you will need to use an escrow or start really really small.
There are a tonne of escrows that you can use , but it shall make expanding beyond a certain point almost impossible.

TL,DR; I've received your identity verification , but before you can start accepting Bitcoin , you need to think out your idea in more detail , express it properly in FAQ , create a new "game statistics" page and get an escrow , or start out at a much much smaller scale than 500,000$

773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ** UK & EU Sports Tipping Thread** on: July 11, 2014, 04:42:18 PM
I'm betting on a South American win.
Brazill and Argentina to win !
774  Economy / Gambling / Re: International Lottery based upon the Genius of Bitcoin on: July 11, 2014, 08:11:56 AM
lottery.cool sounds like the best domain name ever , if you are trying to attract 13 year olds.

Mike and Paul. I'm not sure if it is just me , or do these names sound like the most generic names ever ?

Here's some things we could do to prove that you are real :-

1-Prove that you own any Bitcoin at all ?
Sign a message with today's date and your website URL.

2-Get your identity has "Paul Coleman" (ie most generic name) verified.
Ask a trusted member to verify it for you. You should take a picture of yourself holding a card of your username/website and send the person your ID. They should then post here if you can verify that you are really who you say you are.

Those will prove that you are really "Paul Coleman". Even after that you need a way to make sure people can trust you with money.
You will need to use an escrow.
All your lottery funds must go to a escrow instead of your address.
The escrow should be well known and a single address should be used.
You can let the escrow do the drawing of the lottery too and then let the escrow pay it out. (along with sending you any house edge)
775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ** UK & EU Sports Tipping Thread** on: July 10, 2014, 05:37:20 PM
Don't tell me that you actually went to read betvip's blogs during the world cup. Lol Wink

What do you mean ?
They spam their links everywhere and in the beginning I assumed they were good.
I had looked up most of their picks for the quarter finals and then decided against betting much.
I recently looked at those picks again and realized how bad they were.

Purposely posting bad picks should be a crime.
776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: leancuisine's Sports Picks (489 wins - 210 losses - 51 draws) on: July 10, 2014, 05:33:11 PM
Any bets today? I have come to the conclusion that I hate baseball and my picks suck, really any god damn thing can happen in baseball.

2 worst pitchers? dont even bet the over cause its going 1-2

2 best pitchers? yea they score 15 runs

Bet Germany to win the World Cup on Sunday  Wink

But BetVIP has predicted Germany to win...
And they have gotten only one of fourteen of their previous predictions right....
777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ** UK & EU Sports Tipping Thread** on: July 10, 2014, 05:28:57 PM
BetVIP has a great array of predictions on their blog.

Let's look at some statistics from the Quarter-finals and Semi-finals !

Round - Predictions made - Predictions that won
Quarter finals - 7 - 1
Semi finals - 7 - 0 ( 1 has not been settled , for Argentina to win the cup)

They have made a total  of 14 predictions for the quarter finals and semi finals , for a whopping 7.1% win rate !

They have made a prediction for the finals , that Germany will win.

I believe that BetVIP will continue their awesome streak and lose this prediction too.
Bet on Argentina !

Honestly though , BetVIP has done an awesome job of putting bad tips on their blog, making their clients lose , making them win.
778  Economy / Gambling / Re: Non-Dice Games on: July 10, 2014, 05:01:29 PM
Almost every gambling game at the end it's just a dice game.

Well, sport betting is not, and it is partly skill-based. Smiley

Sports betting is vary skill based. I played at one of the free ad supported sites for 2 or 3 months placing anywhere from 1-10 bets each day. (Ref http://www.sportsplays.com/liquidxskin.html Non Ref http://www.sportsplays.com It's not bitcoin based however it is 100% free and they do payout according to the forum) The end result was a 30.2% win rate and $0 balance but hey it was free money so no big deal. On sign up you get $1 and SP replenishes the account with $.50 every bust. Anyways, the point is sports betting takes skill. I started the experiment expecting 50% win rate (betting the favorite on tennis and baseball) but sports are not random like most online gambling.

I've registered with your reflink.
I hope it works as well as you say it does Smiley
779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: leancuisine's Sports Picks (489 wins - 210 losses - 51 draws) on: July 10, 2014, 08:09:22 AM
Netherlands - Argentina over 3.5

I would say under 2.5

Netherlands will most likely be in their defensive 5-3-2 position and Argentina will most likely be defensive too.
No team will take a risk at this stage.

Seems you didn't watch yesterday's game.

0-0

You can't really base Argentinian and Dutch strategy on Brazil.
The 7-1 happened because the Brazilian team was missing both their captain and their star forward.
780  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – Best LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. No Accounts. Instant Payouts. on: July 10, 2014, 07:02:34 AM
Argentina has already passed the semi-finals , so shouldn't this bet be Settled Lost ?

Secondly , could you help me find any bets I had made in the past about Netherlands ?
I think I had made a bet of them reaching semi-finals / finals , but it was a long time ago and I can't find the transaction among all my other bets.

Thanks,
Jambola2
