762  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 100 BTC Casascius unfunded on: February 12, 2016, 09:20:38 PM
thinking of putting a price on it, but wondering why the price bidding is lower than a bought "void" .5BTC brass coin....just dont know how to value this with not many sales.

watching for now

Good question.  There 'may' have been around 12 void coins made, but of them, there are likely fewer still around that didnt get lost, thrown out, etc.  Maybe 6 left, give or take.

There were 8 of these bars made, all of which likely still remain intact, due to the fact they're unfunded and they were made about a year or so ago.

They're both very rare items and difficult to price without other previous sales.  But for reference, bitguy101 was selling his remaining non 2FA bars for about $1699 on ebay, and they all sold.  The rarer 2FA bar (only 4 made) sold for $1999 each.

$650
764  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Redeemed 10 BTC and S2 25 BTC Casascius on: February 12, 2016, 03:05:30 PM
Redeemed 10B are kind of hard to come by.  I acquired a Silver and Silver Gilt last year, but they weren't cheap.  I'm not selling mine as they will likely be the closest I'll get to having these.  Hope you find one.

So you come in here just to flaunt your shiny coins... I see how it is  Cry

haha I'm sure some will pop up, there's no rush  Smiley

Lol.  Definitely not flaunting with just my poor-man's redeemed coins.  Now if I had Unredeemed ones, that would be worthy of flaunting.

Have there been other sales recently??

I know there were 2 on ebay a while back, but I do not think they sold.
They were priced around $2000.  Shocked

I believe miffman is selling one as well.  These bars were originally acquired by bitguy101 last year I believe direct from Casascius.  These are indeed very rare.  They are given their own page and mentioned in the upcoming Encyclopedia.

Eodguy149...any idea of price you're looking for?
767  Economy / Collectibles / Re: DELUX Lucky coin sale- You decide which on: February 11, 2016, 04:27:52 PM
Then move me to 1.4 instead for the gold.

Dont forget I booked 1.1 for the gold one too from the other thread, looks like I need to evict Bithalo from his slot  Shocked

I was joking of course  Grin about the peeling. I love the excitement: does it cointain 1BTC or doesn't it?.... Shocked

Hi everyone. I am now taking payments for this week.

Would anyone be interested in a Delux version of this? Say with silver coins and the price is higher? The winning prize 3 Bitcoin or something?

But 2 winners not one to make it a bit better. Just an idea. If interest I will make a new thread.

Please reserve me 1.1 of silver version.

I have 1.1 of lucky coin so might as well go for the set

(then when you do a gold version ill grab 1.1 of that too Smiley )

Shakespeare #001 and Tesla #002 arrived today.  Very nice Proof finish.  They're very similar to the previous Einstein coin.  Coins are inside their capsules, so scratches shown are from the airtites.

The plating process is going spot on. 10 down so far. Will continue.

Any samples you can show of the revised gold plated coin?

I asked him to send a photo so hopefully he will today. But when he says they are spot on he means they are spot on. Dion Smith the jeweler in leeds, uk is top of his field. I will try get some photos for you.

Great news.  Looking forward to seeing them.

Maybe ognasty will want to use him for his gold plated coins too.  He had some issues with the Gilt 2oz Silver that came from the mint.

Since Pistachio took up minerjones' offer, I'd like to reserve the #001 for the Gold Delux Lucky

Looks like the old picture used the Microsoul holo. Now it's the CryptoImperator?  Have you considered making half the coins in each holo?  You may get people wanting both for collecting.

For the purposes of categorizing coins for the encyclopedia, would I call this a Microsoul if I have to pick one maker?

Well I initiated the project. Its entirely up to you. If we do 20 coins and not just 10 I will do the others with a microsoul sticker.

OK.  Microsoul it is.

If you go that route of doing a Microsoul sticker too, put me in for #001 of those as well.

OK so if we do 10 you take 1 and if we do 20 you take 2?

for the Microsoul what serial number #01?

minerjones if we do 20 I will serial number them 0-10 again.

Correct.  1 of each.  I figured it would make it easier for you to get to 20 while still keeping these limited to 10 each type.  It makes the cost cheaper per coin.

Thanks monkeynuts.  I'm sure very few people today were aware of this.  I personally find it very fascinating to find something about Casascius that wasnt well known.
779  Economy / Collectibles / Re: PAPERBACK - Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoin and Crypto-Currencies - [42/100] on: February 07, 2016, 07:33:45 PM
How many are needed? I would be willing to donate some for sure.

100 (+5-10% for mistakes)

I think the ideal hologram here would be one that has a window for the public key, and is perhaps etched or otherwise modified slightly to indicate the book. Heck, numbering them would be way cool as well!

The ideal solution would be that whoever is providing the holograms also prepares them with the public/ private key, so all that I need to do is pull them from a sticker sheet and place on the cover.

I would like to think that the publicity available here would be worth the effort.

Whoever is interested; please PM me!

Too bad this is a coin book.... The last page of the book could be a Real Satoshi Note....

We did this in the interest of time and being able to make our project manageable.  I'm sure we'll add paper wallets and cards in future editions.  I do collect paper wallets such as PaperSafe and I have a ton of respect in their quality.  Perhaps it's something we could add, to your point.  Something like a few pics of Bitbills, PaperSafe, Bitcoin Suisse Notes, Bit card.de, Etc all in 1 page?  Even Casacius did a paper wallet before the coins, if I recall.

casascius did a paper wallet?  does anyone have one? would like to see it....and paper safe products are top notch.  would love to see a satoshi note in there, although requirements creep would keep delaying the project.

I know monkeynuts has a picture of it.  It was something like 12 public addresses on a sheet of paper with a personal signature of Mike C over some hologram or other item, if I recall.  It wasn't very fancy looking.

Has anyone received their 1.LUCKY (week 1 / round 1) coin yet?
Pictures and who's the LUCKY winner??  Shocked

Thanks

The winner can only be determined by redeeming the private key right?

Yes. So far thats the only way.

Minerjones got me confused . I won't be redeeming mine anytime soon!

Same here.  Even if I knew beforehand I was the winner, I wouldn't redeem it.  I thought it would be publicly made after all the coins were sent out who was the recipient of the winning coin.  If nobody redeems, then nobody will ever know if they have a winner.  As a collector, I'd rather keep the coin intact.
