761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Crypto Execs Confident SEC Will Approve Spot Bitcoin ETFs on: October 20, 2023, 02:35:37 AM
Gary was on tv today talking about the etf approval process. Judging by how he was talking I am leaning that eventually they will be approved. Normally he is very negative at crypto anything but the way he talked during this interview made it seem that they need to approve it eventually.

The question is when. It might not be in 2023 because we basically got 2 months left and excluding holiday and another government shutdown there isn’t much time. But most likely sometime in first half of 2024.

Are we beginning to witness more optimism on an approval? When I share news about ETF approval before, the replies from the forum influencers were more negative than positive. Presently it is no reply or some positive replies.

In any case, now that everyone is optimistic, I am beginning to be more skeptical hehehe. The news on more crackdowns from the American government because they claim that Hamas is using bitcoin might influence uncle Gary to reject the next scheduled application on Novermber 17.

However, the pump on bitcoin might not stop because this pump presently might not be about the ETF. This might be something similar to what George Soros and his group are doing before. Powerful people create fear on the market when they are buying and create hype when they are selling.

This is a sad day for boxing,

Quote
Dan Rafael
@DanRafael1
A sad day for #boxing but not unexpected. Showtime Sports will be shuttered at end of the year and with it Showtime Boxing will pass into history after a 37-year run that includes many of the biggest and best fights of that time. I feel for the many who will lose their jobs.

https://twitter.com/DanRafael1/status/1714320545985003771

Well first it was HBO Sports stopped operating after 45 years in 2018. And now after 5 years, Showtime Sports had followed suit. We all know that this two competing to give us the best boxing in the last couple of decade.

Hopefully DAZN or even ESPN can carry the mantle after this sad news.

This is certainly sad news. This announcement was also mentioned in Teddy Atlas' podcast and he expressed the blame on the promoters. It was very much similar to what I have said about much of these boxing events being similar to scam ICOs where the promoters hype the ICO, collect the money then dump on their own customers hehehehe.

These ICO scammers do not add anything to the cryptospace and similar to some of these events, they do not add anything to the sport of boxing.

@ChiBitCTy. Yes, flight time going to London is 9 hours, they play vs. the Bills, they won the game, they ride another flight of 9 hours, have training then play the Colts and again won the game. This would imply that they might be tired for the Saints, however, his also implies that they should not be underestimated. If someone will give you +3 for the Jaguars you should bet this hehe.

@Hueristic. Hehehehee I would not have won even if I had Henry and Jaguars defense because Massage Watson is injured and Pollard did not get much points. I thought Pollard would get more than 20 against this Chargers defense.
764  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 19, 2023, 02:00:06 AM
^^ Ok thanks for this news, I was actually looking as to what has caused the sudden spike of the price in the last 24 hours. So there's was supposedly a leak news but it was fake.

But in the positive side, the price has taken off to $28k already, but we should be very cautious as it might fall back to $26k. Or if investors doesn't mind the news then maybe we can still hold on to this price up until the end of the month, it will be good then for the market, even if there is some entity with clear manipulation from behind.

It also appears that it is not only bitcoin that is being targetted by fake news. There is also other fake news being shared that the creators of Roblox has begun accepting XRP for payments.

Are they beginning to use fake news as a tactic to anger the SEC? Uncle Gary is scratching his head.

On social media, false claims can spread like wildfire—even well after the source media has been deleted.

Roblox has denied that it will support XRP payments, despite claims that spread widely on Tuesday, telling Decrypt that any suggestion that gamers could buy Robux to pay for in-game items with Ripple’s XRP token is “inaccurate.”

The rumors began swirling late Monday when payments processor BitPay tweeted that users could begin using Ripple’s XRP token for Xsolla payments in supported games—and tagged the free-to-play games Roblox and Smite.

When asked why the tweet was deleted, BitPay CMO Bill Zielke told Decrypt via email: “There was an error in the tweet.

I read that there is a rumor that Gary himself was fired as a SEC chairman.

https://twitter.com/twobitidiot/status/1714247871418044500

His allege firing though has nothing to do with crypto, but in some political role he did in the past. Although this rumors has been circulated for months already specially after he appeared in Congress and it seems that the law maker is not fond of Gary, on how he answered the questions regarding crypto in general. And so the fake news continues and it's very important that we know how to read between the lines and not fall for it.

The rumor is very headshaking and will certainly only trick the people who does not know that the president cannot fire an SEC chairman. There needs to be a reason that is impeachable and if the SEC chairman is impeachable, it will be argued and voted in congress.

In any case, it appears that this grandma Elizabeth Warren is attacking crypto with fud again. I speculate this fud might manipulate uncle Gary to reject the applications for the ETF again that have a deadline on November.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., along with more than a hundred other lawmakers, said she is concerned about how Hamas raised millions of dollars through cryptocurrency and wants answers from the administration of President Joe Biden.

The slew of bipartisan lawmakers cited a report from the Wall Street Journal last week that said Hamas, along with other militant groups, used crypto as a financing tool ahead of attacks in Israel earlier this month. The letter was sent on Tuesday to the Treasury Department and the White House.

which caused a liquidity cascade which liquidated the traders who were short selling bitcoin.
Interesting theory, but shouldn't that cause a significant drop in the number of shorts as they get liquidated? If you check out shorts on Tradingview and zoom out you can see that there were huge changes 2 weeks ago and the numbers barely change during the big jump on 16th.

Can you share a screenshot of the chart on tradingview?

This is a chart from coinalyze.net with the total aggregated open interest from the futures market of the biggest crypto exchanges. This clearly shows a short squeeze has occurred that liquidated short sellers. Also, the pump to $30k which immediately went down to $28k without much of a dump also shows it was a short squeeze.

News update. Mike Novogratz with the Luna tattoo has again declared with confidence that one of the bitcoin spot ETF applications will be approved before the end of 2023.

We have witnessed how these crypto CEOs like CZ, Justin Sun and Sam Bankrupt-Fraud are very much similar to clowns, hustlers and scammers. I reckon with the Luna tattoo on his arm, Mike Novogratz might be included in the clown category hehe. However, what does everyone speculate on his prediction? Does everyone agree or disagree?

A spot bitcoin exchange traded fund is coming as soon as 2023, according to Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz.

The billionaire crypto bull pointed to multiple requests by firms to launch a spot bitcoin ETF over the past year. Those will undoubtedly be approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission, and that could come as soon as before the end of 2023, Novogratz said in an interview with CNBC on Wednesday.

"It's going to get approved … We think it happens this year in 2023," Novogratz said. "All the indications of dealing seem to be heading in the right direction."

768  Bitcoin / Legal / EU Formally Agrees on New Crypto Tax Data Sharing Rules on: October 18, 2023, 03:43:35 AM
If you are not a whale, stop using CEXs. This rule will only cause more annoyances for a small amount of money.

I am not quite certain how this will affect DEXs implemented on DeFi, however, it appears that Uniswap might begin implementing KYC for v4. If all DEXs starts enforcing KYC, it might be a good time to learn how to interact with smart contracts directly hehehehe.

New European Union rules that let tax authorities share data on individuals' crypto holdings were formally adopted by the bloc's finance ministers on Tuesday. The document will now be published in the EU's Official Journal and enter into force 20 days later.

The rules were proposed last year in a bid to block assets from being stashed overseas using crypto and had unanimous support from EU member states despite discussions mostly taking place largely behind closed doors.

Any chance of Dallas winning?

Yeah, I expect them to come out on top, but he Chargers can be a tough opponent.  Honestly I wouldn't put much money on either team.  I was thinking of putting a small bet on some props but I haven't had time to really look at the options yet.

Even though the game was challenging and close, Micah Parsons' performance was crucial. I was compelled to watch a portion of the game because it had been a long time since I had seen the NFL. Dallas @1.70 odd ended up being a profitable wager. I appreciate your contributions, gentlemen.

Did you finally put something on the game?

New Orleans saints vs Jacksonville - money on New Orleans saints this Friday!!!

I reckon Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars might be underestimated for this game. The Jaguars won versus the Bills in London and they were speculated to lose versus the Colts because they might be tired from travelling back to America from London. However, they won and the Jaguars secondary showed their toughness and strength. I reckon they will try their hardest to win against the Saints and the Steelers before they lose to the 49ers hehehe. They know this already and their roadmap to the post season might be to win the games where they have a chance and save their strength on games where they know that they will lose.
770  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval: Fueling Bullish Momentum? on: October 18, 2023, 01:20:34 AM
*snip*

Lmao it's a shitshow. Can't believe such false news caused a domino effect among other "news" sites as they blindly followed the original article poster.

On the bright side — at least we now have an idea on how much we can pump once a real ETF approval takes place.

Agreed, it is really very head shaking how everyone is cheering for this market manipulation. This is very bad and it might reduce the chance of an ETF approval because the SEC can presently declare that the bitcoin market is being manipulated easily.

There is also these types of fud that are being reported by mainstream news media. I speculate that because of this war and because of the sensitivity of the situation in the Middle East, I reckon some of the applicants of the ETF might remove their applications and postpone later.

How Hamas is using cryptocurrency to raise funds

But Hamas has apparently not stopped such efforts altogether. On Tuesday, Israeli authorities announced the freezing of additional cryptocurrency accounts that the group had allegedly used to collect donations during this week’s conflict.

And aside from bitcoin, crypto wallets that Israeli authorities have said are linked to Hamas have included the cryptocurrencies Ether, XRP, Tether and others, according to an Israeli government order.

It’s unclear how much money Hamas has received in cryptocurrency, but there’s evidence they have amassed significant amounts.

771  Economy / Speculation / Re: Recent market manipulation shows the enormous potential to reach the moon! on: October 18, 2023, 12:46:51 AM
The recent market manipulation with a fake news about SEC approving the BlackRock ETF showed the massive potential that exists in the bitcoin market to simply shoot to the moon and in a very short time too. In other words a lot of that money is waiting on bitcoin to make the first move to panic buy it "violently". Wink

I disagree. It was only market manipulation, this was not money waiting to buy. Market manipulators pumped the bitcoin futures market which caused a liquidity cascade which liquidated the traders who were short selling bitcoin. After this when the traders bought long futures, they were also liquidated when the price dumped hehehehe.

This is not good for bitcoin because this type of market manipulation might give another reason for uncle Gary to disapprove on all spot ETF applications.
772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robert Kennedy Jr. Promises to End White House War on Bitcoin on: October 17, 2023, 03:09:13 AM
As for those people who still think that Bitcoin can change the world on a fundamental level, I wonder if they will ever come to their senses or will continue to live in illusions forever Undecided

I very much agree! However, if what Robert Kennedy Jr. has promised is true in ending the war on bitcoin, I speculate that inflows of dollars and stablecoins will be quicker and bigger which will certainly cause a big harder pump than the pump on 2021. This might also cause a longer pump which I reckon everyone in this forum will like to feel.

He is almost certain to lose. Unless Biden or trump drops out at the last minute.

Sadly this is true. Unless he has some very well hidden overly strong backing, he has not much of a chance.

Would be nice to see him shake up economy by actively pushing crypto.

It would be nice, but I think that the number of Americans who would actually vote for him because of his stance on crypto is not that significant.
Plus, as it was said before, he seems to be oblivious to the fact that he will not be able to push his agenda by himself.

Agreed that the bitcoin community cannot help him win the presidency. If nothing is what he can get for his support on bitcoin, does this imply that his support is real without an agenda?
773  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 17, 2023, 02:41:17 AM
@Natalim. Similar to many of the voters, I also voted for $30k and stay there. However, according to social media, the pump yesterday was caused by fake news from Cointelegraph when they declared that Blackrock's application for the ETF was approved by the SEC already.

This is head shaking because uncle Gary might say that the market is again being manipulated which will cause his decision to reject all of the application again. Also, this image is being shared in social media, I am quite certain this is a joke heheheehe.

774  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PayPal Just Announced Plans to Launch a USD Stablecoin - Thoughts? on: October 17, 2023, 02:07:29 AM
@BenCodie. The better economics of what? Bitcoin as a speculative investment? This is not economics hehe. But I agree, many people will become quite rich by 2030 because of holding bitcoin when the inflows of new dollars enter the cryptospace. Similar to you, I am also holding. However, we should be humble and not be on a position that we act better than other people or think that bitcoin is the best that has no second best, according to Michael Saylor Moon hehehe.

Also, on scaling, I am quite certain bitcoin will be the same on 2030.
775  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: October 17, 2023, 01:41:42 AM
@Fauderz. These sports celebrities are also victims by Sam Bankman Fried and no one is implying that they were supporting the scam. They supported FTX the cryptocoin exchange. They did not know Sam was scamming everyone since since 2019. The year is according to some speculations on social media.

I reckon Tom Brady, Steph Curry and the others should return the money and have their own lawsuit against Sam for damages caused. It might have caused the divorce of Tom Brady's marriage hehe.

What a weird gameweek so far.

SF lost to the Browns, Jets beat the Eagles and the Bills doesnt look good against the Giants aswell.
This was also clearly reflected in Fantasy Football... At least in my team. But I'm still happy and until now I'm leading. Everything depends on @South Parks A. Ekeler on MNF.

Can I pull out my 2nd win of the season or goin to be defeated by South Park with his last player remaining?

Agreed.  Shocking how the bills couldn't get ahead of the giants until a couple minutes to go.  As a giants fan just pathetic showing seriously.  Topped with the run play on the 1 yard line with no timeouts.  I was actually laughing because that's just typical giants type plays right there.  Either way...any given sunday!

I reckon both the Bills and the Giants deserved to lose hehehehe. Also on the final play, why did the Giants' quarterback made the decision to throw the ball to a receiver? It was only 1 yard. Giving the ball to the running back might have a higher chance for the touchdown.

However, I am not the football expert hehehe. The coach might have noticed something.

@Igebotz. Yes, Cowboys' Tony Pollard is the best running back in the NFL who will score 25 fantasy points and make me win my week 6 against the Barbarian.
777  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: October 16, 2023, 04:42:13 AM
News update.

It appears Sam and his lawyers have found a way to manipulate the trial by using delaying tactics caused by Sam's addiction to Adderall.

Also, I speculate that Sam's Adderall addiction might be used to argue the case towards the effects of this drug to a person and how the drug affected Sam's decision making in FTX to make it appear that he is another victim of the pharmaceuticals business.

Stimulant misuse is responsible for many issues, especially more commonly known drugs like Adderall. This use is extremely common on college campuses and with young adults more prone to risky behaviors. While both problem gambling and stimulant use have negative effects and are closely related in terms of their usage demographics, the relationship between Adderall and gambling disorders is an unknown for many individuals. Let’s explore how this drug can impact one’s propensity to partake in uncontrolled gambling activities.

What Is Adderall?

Adderall is a class of stimulants used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder and related problems. It can be an extremely effective drug, and with that comes a desire for doctors to avoid overprescription or early refills. Yet, as with any medication, there are ways individuals can access it without a prescription that can lead to misuse and other related issues.

Stimulants and Gambling

Gambling and drug use are often lumped together in one, and for good reason. A surprisingly large percentage of college students report gambling, taking drugs, or both each year. With the popularity of gambling increasing over the past few years, there’s increased importance on understanding the relationship between drugs (like simulants) and gambling.

Many studies report that individuals who report gambling problems are also more likely to report misuse of stimulants or other drugs. So keeping these stimulants out of the hands of people who don’t need them and educating others on the impact of these drugs can go a long way to preventing gambling problems.

778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul Vs Dillon Dannis and KSI vs Tommy Fury Today! Oct 14th on: October 16, 2023, 03:19:14 AM
I’m not a fan of these Youtube, social media guys cosplaying as boxers. I think it makes a mockery of the sport that some dedicate their whole lives to.

However it was good to see KSI lose, shame it wasn’t by KO. I’m disappointed Dillon Danis didn’t back up his shit talking game with a better performance. It’s not good for an actual fighter to lose to one of the Paul brothers.

I very much agree. Also, similar to what I have said before, these type boxing events are much more similar to scam ICOs. The promoters hype the event as much as possible and collect as much money as possible then create a bad product and dump their tokens on the community's faces.

However, there might be people who would argue where is the bad product on the boxing event hehehe. My argument against them is to start watching WWE. It is a better product and cheaper.

@ralle14. It is very ugly if you are a Bills fan or if you have James Cook placed as one of the running backs in your fantasy league instead of using Derrick Henry heheehheehe. Also, this type of performance is very much assumed for the Giants on the road against the Bills. This is a very shocking performance for the Bills.

How much points did you give? I speculate it might be -10 points? It might be difficult, however, it is not impossible.
780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: October 16, 2023, 01:35:42 AM
@ralle14. However, it appears that it will be the Bills that are having difficulties on winning against the Giants. I am sharing @morvillz7z's frustration because I have James Cook in my fantasy league and on a very important week hehehe.

It also appears that Josh Allen is not the same player when he was written by sports news outlets to be an MVP for the last 2 seasons before this.
