761  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can the community support newcomers in navigating the crypto space? on: December 16, 2023, 09:35:24 PM
With a little support and encouragement, newcomers can feel more comfortable and confident in navigating the crypto space. What do you think?
We're doing everything that we can to support the newbies but sometimes, there are impatient newbies that they think this entire market and community is a quick rich scheme thing. That's why the mindset that's embedded on them is this is their way to riches so, there goes the impatient ones and shows their true them.

I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but these topics seem to be designed to attract merit points, by creating a general topic with an alt account and writing a carefully documented reply with the first account in the hope of obtaining merits or at least completing the weekly requirement of posts. If that is the purpose, please creating such topics, you already have a previous topic.
That's what I have noticed as well. Too many of these topics were made and came out almost at the same day everyday. Talking about merits and stuff when most of the community members have told them to just go along with the forum and enjoy their way of learning through the topics that are already posted. There's a lot of them that keeps going on.
762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best piece of advice to anyone going into bitcoin on: December 16, 2023, 01:59:44 PM
Buy a little bit of bitcoin every week don't care if it's a $1, $5, $10, $100, figure out what you can afford every week and buy it
Do it as a weekly or monthly buy because that amount will just be gone because of the high fees now. So, it is two things for you those that will DCA, save your money and wait until the fees drop down before you buy.

get rid of unnecessary expenses or whatever you can think of getting rid of and spend it on bitcoin
5 to 10 years if you buy some every week you will be a multi millionaire
I don't want to give false hope. It's possible if we're back several years ago but saying things like this is unlikely at this moment. You gotta be good in calculation to say that someone DCAing with a couple of backs up to a hundred weekly and within 5-10 years, they'll be millionaire. Don't make it look like a ponzi but I think max would be a hundred grand but not  millions.
763  Economy / Economics / Re: Learn to use DEBT in a proper way to create asset on: December 16, 2023, 11:10:12 AM
To clear the doubt, let me ask you something.

Have you take a loan from your friends or banks? how much you take it? is your business successful? if you answer "NO", then I don't see it's a good reason to create a business using borrowed money.
It's never been good to start your actual business with borrowed money. You're in an experimental mode when you start and most of the startups end up failing and that's why it's not a good idea to start it with a loan. People who have been into the business will say the same thing and that's why someone who's pulling off a business needs to have their own money so, if it ever fails, you'll have no obligation to pay that will be suck you up together with the failed start up.

Yes I think we shouldn't be taking debt for our personal leisure or product which depreciates with time which is the mistake people make but it's equally risky when you borrow it for business but it gives a possibility of giving profit which could cover the interest charges. I personally don't think these loans or credits are good because it pushes people at the brink of poverty with penalties and late payment fee, etc.

One should never fall in debt for products like car, expensive mobiles and all. Because only few are able to manage it wisely as I have seen people using two credit cards and keep rotating the amount between two.
Thanks to the modern time today, many does take loan with the fancy things that they can have. It's all about the validation that they're taking from people. Expensive phones, cars, etc, but lack in assets and investments that will generate them more money. These possessions that people are wanting to have have a quick depreciation.
764  Economy / Services / Re: I fund betting accounts at 90% face value (fanduel, prizepicks, stake, etc) on: December 16, 2023, 08:44:31 AM
You pay me 90$, to get 100$ in your betting account, any US platform... prizepicks, stake.us, fanduel
How are you going to earn with such? I am smelling like Twitter Vitalik Buterin promo/giveaway 2.0. Like send this xx amount and I'll send you back this xx amount.

thank you for your opinion but I'm not look to catfish anyone. I'm not against any form of escrow, but this is simply an exchange. I have my ways around this and it's my intention to utilize the skill, to earn myself some money.
Will you mind to explain and disclose what's with this exchange that you do? With all of the stuff and news that we hear today about money laundering, care to say your method?
765  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinMarketCap CMC listing problem on: December 16, 2023, 06:08:16 AM
OP, likewise, everyone is sharing the same thoughts that your friend probably have contacted a fake CMC staff. This is common in most of the reputable services and websites that we have. Why did you paid upfront without even dealing or checking the entire thing if they're from the actual website. Tell us more about your friend paying for the listing because it won't take that much long whenever it's from the verified coinmarketcap staff. Much better to ask your friend before going here, pay a visit to the official website of coinmarketcap.com and check all the transactions, domains, emails or letters that he has interacted with that probable fake representative.

His response

Sorry mate... She's gone now... She died

tjtonmoy, [15-Dec-23 7:09 PM]
I am not pretending anything

Looking at some of the responses in this thread I thought to share it.

I believe the woman indeed died, tjtonmoy and his family lost the Grand mother.

Rest In Peace to the departed soul. My condolence to the family.
While I was just reading the thread and seeing how things are now, this is a sad news. @tjtonmoy, my condolences to your family and I know that it's hard to accept it as I am also a guy that has grandmothers and I don't know what I'll feel if the point comes although I don't wish to be on that moment. Not just long ago, we've got one actual member that passed away and now, someone's family member has passed away too. What a sad December. Rest in peace to your grandmother tjtonmoy. I don't know what type of comforting words I'll say but I wish that you'll recover while treasuring and cherishing the moments that you've been with her.
767  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Flag reference for CryptoCraftsMan(UID = 3592888) on: December 15, 2023, 09:06:15 PM
Additional Notes:
A scheme making a guaranteed more than 40% per day of one's deposit is unsustainable and a lie. Do not deal with the user.
I agree and don't deal also with users that have been offering the same scheme and even as low as 1%-5% per day, that's unreal because the banks will not even have the balls to offer that to someone. And the typical offer they give is an annual rate so, these people think that members here are naive when it's about these interest rates and investments. It's not going to be the last one and there will be more of them for sure since we're close to the bull run.
768  Economy / Economics / Re: Food for thought on: December 15, 2023, 07:11:03 PM
The reality of having one source of income sucks especially if it's not that high paying at all. Jobs in the government varies on the position but a friend of mine is happily serving through it even if the salary is just enough for his family. I agree to start a little business that you may eventually leave your day job. But it's not for everyone because whether you want it or not, when you're able to start a business, it doesn't end there and many struggles in maintaining it because it's not easy as someone may seem to think.
769  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: IMPORTANT: Ledger ConnectKit Library has been Compromised with a drainer. on: December 14, 2023, 11:25:24 PM
Just when I thought of buying a hardware wallet this happened and now I am reconsidering it.
Ledger is facing such attacks quite frequently now. It's not good for a company like Ledger to have such security flaws.
I wonder why is only Ledger facing such attacks.
It's because they have the vast market share and that's why they're targeted but, this isn't the first time that we've seen them in the news. Aside from this compromise, they've got a feature of recover that many don't like it and shoudn't really be considered. Too many attacks and controversy has happened with Ledger and that sucks.

Are other hardware wallet companies like Trezor very good at their side ?
I'm thinking of taking a Blockstream hardware wallet named Jade but I am still gathering reviews about it.
770  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 BC.GAME - CASINO AND SPORTSBOOK | $1,000 GIVEAWAY LIVE! 🔥🔥🔥 on: December 14, 2023, 08:12:12 PM
I plan to use my bonus this weekend since there would be plenty of games to pick from across the major leagues in Europe.  Smiley
Good luck as well to you. I'm not yet into Football and might join all of these discussions related on it soon. I just don't want to dive in when I might look like a die hard fan when in actuality I'm not. But still, there are a lot of sports that are in bc.game that's why I'll use it also there whenever I receive it and becomes eligible.

Absolutely! I'm not much of a casino guy. I've had my own share of casino games experiences in the past but I've always loved sports betting since there's varieties of events from football to tennis to basketball, so many options to pick from. Amd it's something I can relate too and enjoy watching.
Yes, there's so many sports to choose from and I am into basketball and just silently watching it currently and a lot is happening in the scene. Just as you, I am enjoying them as well.

If it's not your thing — that's cool since it's each to their own at the end of the day. Whatever rocks you boat, keep at it.  Smiley
I agree, and that means that there's also another interesting to get on soon.

I tried to get in on some of the live UCL bets but couldn't get one in. I'm not sure if it's my network or BcGame was lagging? Anyway, My sights are now on Europa league tomorrow. My team is playing
It works fine on me but it's kinda late to say this I guess or by that time there was some network interruption on you end.
771  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 🚨🚨🚨 DON'T USE ANY DAPP(Ledger's ConnectKit library compromised) on: December 14, 2023, 06:43:06 PM
I've seen this news on coinmarketcap with the top community post from Lark Davis. Although it has been fixed now as been said by Ledger. Whenever there are compromises like this from Ledger or any hardware wallet company, the guy said just don't do anything and never connect your wallet to the dApps. That's the quote from him so if something the same happens again in the future (not asking for it) just in case, that's what people have to do.
772  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How you start a particular journey matters a lot. on: December 13, 2023, 11:12:09 PM
Investing isn't really for everyone. What I've seen with various threads posted here is that they have the desire to invest and buy Bitcoin but they just can't because they don't have jobs, they don't have savings and in short, they don't have a source of income. How can you invest into a new venture for not having your own money? That's why it's not all about how much you can invest but how well planned you are into investing in Bitcoin.
Is the money you have ready to invest is yours? Invest.
Is that money okay to sit for a very long time? Invest.
Is that money okay to lose? Invest.
That's what we're talking about when we invest in Bitcoin. It's not just plainly investing in Bitcoin but also its affection to the other things that you do and the necessities that you may need to sacrifice because of it for which, you shouldn't do.

Nice, just finished mine several hours ago and waiting that it's going to be approved within the next batch. To those that have it, spend very well and good luck to all of your bets then.  Smiley

Goodluck to you as well when you finally get yours. I couldn't get across to the BcGame website before the start of tonight's UCL games but finally did few minutes ago and took a parley bet including a Madrid double chance away to Union Berlin - and yes, I did ait right after they conceded the goal just before half time.
Thanks.

774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: December 13, 2023, 07:58:54 PM
Exactly, you'll be forced to sell when you don't have any other money that get when you are in emergency or there are some important events that you need to pay something. When we say that we're going to hold, it is that we're actually gonna hold and we have no problems of doing that for so long because that's how it should go. We wouldn't mind letting it on our wallets for a long time and we can sustain our needs without touching the money that has been invested on Bitcoin.
775  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: A scammer selling Bitcoin for $1000 on: December 13, 2023, 12:33:34 PM
Well, the sad thing is that this guy doesn't target us who are aware of what's the market price and value of Bitcoin. But he targets those greedy people that are new to the market and thinks that this is possible to happen that someone would just sell a lot of Bitcoin for a cheap price.
An obvious scam but whoever bites on this scam literally don't do their research diligently. So, I just hope that whoever searches on google with the keywords of cheap Bitcoin won't fall on that thread and registers an account here just to get scammed.
776  Economy / Reputation / Re: My 10 Year ( and some days) Bitcointalk Anniversary on: December 12, 2023, 11:29:57 PM
Congrats bud, you literally are not late at all when you've made that username of yours. I, soon will also be having 10th year on the forum and it's just going to be a couple of years from now. I think that I might create a thread reminding all of those people that think they're late investing on Bitcoin and one the inspiration of that thread is going to be your story. More years to come, cheers.
777  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Have anyone heard about a platform called Adswage? on: December 12, 2023, 10:12:02 PM
I was checking on quora.com, nairaland.com and trustpilot and all users claimed adswage is a legitimate platform and they have been earning money with no problem.
Don't believe with everything you see on reviews website. As I am reading your first sentence, it's already a red flag that you have to deposit $100 for just activating your account. I don't know if it's just me whenever I see words like "activation" and "deposit certain money", they're all running on my mind that they're likely a scam.

It is either a scammers making fake reviews so they can call people to join in or people who joined think it is legitimate and convince other to join because they are paying at the moment. Hyip can last for few years. Upon checking the address it is in Dublin Ireland but it is fake and the address is for bicycle repair shop and the website shows no terms of use or privacy policy.
It is rampant especially on websites like quora that don't have much moderation with the reviews given to certain companies and topics. Just for your sake, never get into any HYIP at all. It's been so long that many members have been reminded to avoid them because they're scams. What can you expect from them? Fake team, fake promises, fake address, fake system, etc. as in all of them are fake and scams.

I want to tell that I have also received survey reward, but was less lucky than you. I think I have selected wrong slot, as it was 1 cent bet+50 lines, yet still managed to lose.
Nice, just finished mine several hours ago and waiting that it's going to be approved within the next batch. To those that have it, spend very well and good luck to all of your bets then.  Smiley

I'm also tempted to deposit the profit I made and lost it. Very frustrating. I can't control myself when it comes to gambling. As they say, regret comes last.
Control yourself mate, you're a gambler and you know the sides of gambling and despite that, we all want everyone to gamble and enjoy at the same time although frustration is normal when we're losing. Still, take notice of your control and emotional management.
779  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 BC.GAME - CASINO AND SPORTSBOOK | $1,000 GIVEAWAY LIVE! 🔥🔥🔥 on: December 12, 2023, 11:19:54 AM
We still have 50 more open spots, please fill the form and earn free $10.
I'm done with the survey. Hopefully, that I'll be eligible for the remaining survey respondents to receive the reward.  Smiley So, good luck to me.
Thanks for this survey though. @everyone, don't miss this opportunity that bc.game is giving out for those who'll complete the survey, they're just easy to fill.
780  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where the mixers will promote their projects? on: December 11, 2023, 09:27:04 PM
These mixers will realize that the comparison of traffic that they'll get there and here are totally way out of the league. They may continue their advertisement there but eventually, if they're not liking the results, it is just going to end up with the expected result. Anyway, no one's wishing the result to be bad at all and there's always a chance for them and it's their choice how they're going to keep up with the competition and their marketing.
There are many platforms that mixers can use to conduct promotional campaigns for their services, so I tried to find an explanation as to why they prefer the forums and insist on them, even though most if not all of them cannot be compared to the BitcoinTalk forum, and it can be said that they fail due to the lack of traffic on them.
The only logical explanation that I found is that all the rest of the sites refuse to place advertising banners for Mixers, knowing that as far as I know, there are no laws or legal conditions that prevent them from doing so (at least until now).
So, the other platforms don't also want to allow them for advertising space because that could give them an eye from the government that tracks down dirty money and uses them for it. It's also possible that the next place that they're going to advertise might get some caution of giving them a notice to disallow them to advertise. But let's see, just like the other conventional websites and platforms, they're just doing safety precautions and filtering the ads that they might allow to pop on them that won't have any troubles caught by the regulators. Onto the new platforms, it's favorable to them as it definitely will attract more visitors for the meantime.
