7661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 229: Khabib vs McGregor Prediction and Info Thread on: October 19, 2018, 11:23:04 PM
And just what I'm talking about Conor making a comeback fight after Khabib, Oscar Dela Hoya have the same opinion as to why Floyd is going to fight either Khabib or Pacquiao.

Quote
De La Hoya feels strongly that Mayweather has been talking up a comeback to steal away attention from Canelo Alvarez, who signed a lucrative $365 million deal with streaming service DAZN.

"How fair is it that Canelo announces this big monumental deal and then here you have Floyd crawling out of his little rock, trying to sabotage or trying to steal the thunder. I don't know what he was trying to do, but people know that Floyd is Floyd," De La Hoya told TMZ.

"That's who he is - he's a lowlife. That's exactly who Floyd is. Me and Canelo are having the last laugh. Canelo will enjoy his lucrative contract and fight the very best, which Floyd doesn't do... he either waits for fighters to get over the hill or too young.. like he did with Canelo, fought him when he was too young.

https://www.boxingscene.com/de-la-hoya-laughing-lowlife-mayweather-he-needs-money--132915

Either way, both of that fight (Khabib or Pacquiao), in my opinion, won't generate big money for Floyd. But what they hell, its easy fight for him so I wouldn't be surprised it he decided to fight both of them and boast that he is still relevant and the greatest (richest) boxer ever with undefeated record.
7662  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Why has the cryptocurrency market been so stagnant this month? on: October 19, 2018, 10:53:03 PM
For over two months Now, the market has been stagnant. No show of a solid bull in the market. some of my trading friends have abandoned there accounts believing that it might take months before we can see a bull market.
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE REASON BEHIND THE MARKET SLOW MOVEMENT?

Because a lot of them have lost so much already so they're not coming back unless there's some catalyst like Bitcoin ETF or Bakkt physical Bitcoin offerings. But just look at the bright side and take this opportunity to accumulate more bitcoins or even altcoins.

Another possible reason is that majority have learn their mistakes. So they evolved and are now getting smarter. They wouldn't just put their money in a struggling market. Its hard to do day trading as well, which I believed what's left for seasoned and veteran traders to make good profits. But for us casuals its difficult and not our thing so we might as well distance ourselves for now.
7663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is ItBit exchange any good ? on: October 19, 2018, 10:27:52 PM
I went to the site and doesnt impress me a lot but its good one looking at its rank in the coinmarketcap. At least it is giving some volume being new crypto exchanger and not so well known being in the Top 50. There are lot more impressive exchangers out there who are putting far greater efforts than itBit I guess and if you really wish to go for bigger trades then choose different one. In the trading the very first step is to look for the volume of coin that you want to trade. Your trades may not get executed if the volume of it very tiny. ItBit is relatively good with some pros and cons within it. Lets see how much people know about it, as there could be chance for it to get noticed.

Obviously if an exchange is unheard of its volume is going to be low not unless pumpers chooses to go and try to their magic wand on that ItBit. However, we all know that traders are also getting smarter nowadays and just won't trust exchanges who just popped out.

Its the exchanges primary goal to attract traders by offering lots of incentives (like low trading fee) so that they can at least gain some reputation and became recognize. Competition is very tough out there, but it they do good at marketing, I'm sure that traders would love new exchanges to put their cash and make more money.
7664  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto currency may not disrupt the Trillion Dollar Global Market on: October 18, 2018, 11:57:30 PM
As we know for sure that global market is counted in multi trillion dollar industry and this keeps getting higher in value day by day and year by year, I doubt that crypto currency may at a time will disrupt this industry,

The doubt is but obvious because crypto currency as a whole including BTC + ALTCOINS together is not even amounting to the trillions or so and thus it is just little toy in a big toy shop. It may not even impact it because it is global stuff, and traded all over the world at the same time and hence also gets too much diluted over the time.

This is why crypto may not have any impact over the global Economy whatsoever.

Any thought reading this?

Its too early to say if crypto will have a impact on global market. First, we're still at its infancy, we barely a decade and we all know for example Stock markets has been here for many years now that's why they'd established.

Let's wait till crypto gets to exist for at least 20 years and really see if there's a significant dent on the global markets. Besides, there are news that majority of Wall Streets and Gold holders are inching and wanted to get a piece of the pie. So sooner or later we might see funds being channeled to crypto in the next decade and just maybe we get to see marketcap touching in the Trillions.
7665  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN'S VALUE WILL INCREASE ONCE ALL 21M BTC ARE MINED...SO HOLD YOUR BTC! on: October 18, 2018, 11:34:15 PM
I hope that you do realize that with halvings it will take many more years before the last coin is mined out. It's estimated that in the year 2100 we will still be mining! While I'd like to be able to see this most of us, including me, will never be able to. Our generation of people born in the 80s and 90s will die before the year 2080. The revolution will have to happen much earlier and it will.

Last BTC should be mined somewhere around year 2140, but this is just information that we should not worry too much. More important thing is to know that almost 99% of all BTC will be mined around year 2032, so we can say that in some 14 years from now and even before we can expect very small amount of fresh mined coins on market. Considering halvings in years 2020/2024/2028/2032 we can expect that price will go up to a significant extent if demand increase over the years.

Exactly, we really don't need to go and see the last bitcoin mine, because technically by 2032 we can say that 99% of it will be mine already so its obvious that as speculative asset we need to hold and buy cheap coins and just let it sit in our wallet for the next decade or so.

The OP should at least post a link about Unicef though.

https://news.bitcoin.com/unicef-france-accepts-donations-in-9-cryptocurrencies/
https://www.unicef.org.nz/donate-in-crypto

As for Amazon and Ebay, I'm sorry but OP is wrong because they're not accepting it as mode of payment but maybe we can see other companies starting to accept it in the near future but not today.

7666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: October 18, 2018, 11:20:03 PM
I don't know what happened but no awkward moment between Jimmy Butler and Karl Anthony Towns during their first game this season. Although they loss at the hands of San Antonio Spurs, still we can't see the effect of the "issue" between Butler and the team. I just don't know if Butler will still continued his drama about being traded or will remained at Timberwolves for the rest of the season.
Like what Jimmy Butler said he doesn't mix up personal problems with his game. He likes to keep it professional as possible as it is also what will keep his value up, remember he still wanted to be traded even though the season has already begun. Resting and acting hurt would only delay his trade that he has been looking for ever since this pre-season. The only thing I want to happen as a fan is of course change his views with the team and hopefully sign a contract extension with them, but I doubt that it would happen.

Is he acting Leonard 2.0? Lol.

I'm sure though that he really wanted to be traded and if he continues to act this way then the team has no recourse but to get rid of him. Leonard already set the blue print LMAO.

@batang_bitcoin - Yeah I agree, Carmelo needs some adjustment and there's a lot of learning curve on his part. There's a lot of games in the regular season and as a veteran I do hope that he can make the necessary adjustment and at least help Houston Rockets offensively.
7667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 229: Khabib vs McGregor Prediction and Info Thread on: October 18, 2018, 10:49:17 PM

Agreed. I reckon it is already written in Dana's storyboard that there will be a rematch. Conor wants it and Khabib certainly will not mind another big paycheck hehehe.

But Dana has to work hard in asking for the minimum fine and punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commision for Khabib if the UFC wants this rematch within a year.

This situation might be more serious.

I speculate that Khabib will be suspended for maybe 2 years. The governor of Nevada was there watching in the arena and he walked out disgusted by the brawl that Khabib started. The powers in Nevada might use every connection they have to disallow Khabib from fighting in America for a long time.

Also, the UFC will have its own punishment for Khabib.

I don't think that 2 years is fair though. But I agree that they're very powerful and have lots of connections so Khabib career in the US in hanging in the balance. But I do hope that Nevada Athletic commission will not go full retard and ban him fighting in the US.

Anyways, here's Herb Dean's call on why he "allowed" McGregor to get away will some illegal blows.

7668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto capable of making the world go digital? on: October 18, 2018, 10:28:01 PM
This is very possible. The Blockchain technology is a revolutionary one with a lot of significance. As the people become more familiar with it, the adoption and utilization of the Blockchain and cryptocurrency will increase which will gradually lead the world to cashless.

Other first world nation has been experimenting on cash-less society for years now and I think crypto make them push it a little because of the advancement specially in blockchain technology. So I wouldn't be surprised if in the next 5-10 years we might see society going cashless and digital. However, it doesn't mean the fiat or banking system though will become obsolete.

Yes, I can say crypto is part of many things that can make the whole world to go digital among others like AI technology etc. Just that crypto is the fastest among them.

AI technology though is different, yes we have robots around but it will thank years before we can see a fully automated, self-aware AI. But its in the realm of reality.
7669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 229: Khabib vs McGregor Prediction and Info Thread on: October 16, 2018, 03:32:09 AM
~snip
He cannot decide for a rematch, the public already know it's a convincing win by Khabib, he needs to move on, look for a fighter that he has a chance
of winning so he will be back in the winning path again, that is when the excitement will come and maybe people will again pushing a rematch
against Khabib. In the end, it's just a speculation because lots of unpredictable things happen in the world of sports, because money talks afterall.
Maybe he will get up and fight like how he did when he become a great name in the UFC. They have gotten a lot of supporters with the different commotions before and after the fight so it would be a great impact again when they have Their rematch. I don’t know but it seems that he is just doing it now for the money specially when it was the the Conor vs Floyd fight.

Now that you mention money talks, it is always happen like that.

The problem with this sports personalities is that once they tasted this kind of money, they went on a spending spree. I just watch YT of Conor's "fleet" alone and the mansion in his hometown and Vegas. Sooner or later he will need more money just to maintain everything so I have no doubt that we will make a comeback.

Whether a rematch or another big fight is looming. He's probably partying because he know's he got another huge paycheck but it won't last if he continue this lifestyle.
7670  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) Daily Price Forecast – October 11 on: October 14, 2018, 08:10:42 PM
Today, the bulls have succumbed to the bearish pressure.

Dow Jones has fallen. I'm surprised that Bitcoin dropped after Dow and not before.
Now I think that all we have to do is look at the market. Bitcoin may not recover if the stock market didn't....

At least now its getting clearer as to why the price plummet last October 10/11, 2018. Its because of the Dow crashing that affected other stock market as well in Asia and in Europe and has the domino effect in crypto as well.

But the dust have settled already and everyone has bounce back a bit including crypto market. So there's no bearish pressure after all, it was a result of the global market meltdown that trickled to crypto as well. So we can conclude that indeed there's some correlation of sort between stocks and crypto market.
7671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum prices disappoint you again? on: October 14, 2018, 07:54:28 PM
A few days ago the price rose slowly but this did not last long until the price returned badly. Why?

I do hope that we should accept the fact the Ethereum will continue to struggle in the ensuing months because of bag holders and investors dumping it because they're afraid that it might continue to go down way below $200. Yes we have seen it increased above $200 but it didn't sustained because everyone is also shorting it and no longer looking at the big picture.

Ethereum can't disappoint me more than now, -90% of market cap is natural disappointment . But those who will survive will become millionaires, for sure!

On the other hand, if anyone wanted to be millionaires in the next coming years, I'd say that Ethereum is a good investment. The price is really at a discount and everyone should take advantage because this coin is just having a bad year but eventually it can bounce back in 2 years time so we should be accumulate and be a bagholder.

Manny Pacquiao Aligns Himself With Al Haymon, Eyes Big Fights

Quote
In a move that could pave the way for a 2019 rematch with Floyd Mayweather, eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao has aligned himself with powerful adviser Al Haymon

Haymon, who runs Premier Boxing Champions, is the longtime adviser to Mayweather.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the details have confirmed to BoxingScene.com that Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KOs) has indeed signed on with Haymon.

https://www.boxingscene.com/manny-pacquiao-aligns-himself-with-al-haymon-eyes-big-fights--132649

OK. It looks like Manny already signed with Al Haymon. I consider this a indication that indeed the fight with Mayweather will push through probably next year.

I didn't see it coming. I thought that Manny wouldn't sign with anybody when his contract with Bob Arum expires. Might be better for him if he negotiates without any manager, I guess its too hard for him.  Grin

Anyways, everyone really knows that Manny is past his prime and the fight will not generate any buzz from fight fans. The first fight earned a record 4.6 million PPV buys, but If a rematch happen, its not going to get closer to that number, showing that boxing community is not interested.

You think it won't generate the same amount the previous fight does? We don't have the same view in that, I guess when the rematch happen it will still generate big ppv buys why? Because people are eager to see what these two fighter are up their sleeves even they already passed their prime.

Yes, I will stand on my prediction that its not getting close to 4 million PPV its far too stretch to say that it can even get to 2 million buys. I'm a fan of both but who wants to see them fight at this point of their career? Manny won over Mattysse via TKO, yes its a good win, but he is not the same Manny that we all wanted to see fight Mayweather.

His a bit slower now and I don't see him giving Mayweather a good fight and it will be the same result and boxing fans will be disappointed.
7673  Economy / Economics / Re: current situation of cryptocurrency for 2018 on: October 14, 2018, 07:05:22 PM
Year-to-year bitcoin is still up. So I don't understand why people are still bitching around about the current price of bitcoin. Well we do reach $19k last year but its fairly to say that it was already bubbled. For this year though, yes regulations are all over but I don't think that its one of the major reasons for the dramatic fall.

For me investors are really getting smarter this year and doesn't want to FOMO and those who FOMO last year specially newbies have lost huge amount already and not willing to take the risk. With that said, let not hope for a bull run but instead should look to take advantage of the bearish trend/dips by buying more coins and wait what 2019 can offer to us.
7674  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PHILIPPIN CENTRAL BANK APPROVES 2 NEW EXCHANGES on: October 14, 2018, 06:52:20 PM
This is good news, currently demand of crypto mayority come from Asia so with more crypto exchanges also will make more high demand. Crypto exchange also will promote their product and with the same times also will promote the benefits of crypto and blockchain technology. More crypto exchange is very good for crypto community and more new people will jump in to crypto.

Exactly, we have seen a major resurgence of crypto this year alone, although we're in the bear market. The Asian region with Japan and South Korea leading the pack. And with the growing demand, it means that there are a lot of people getting into the bandwagon, specially the ability of bitcoin or crypto to be used as cross-border-payments, countries in Asia will really benefited from this kind of transactions.

As for the Philippines, it seems that they wanted to be the next blockchain/crypto hub so this is really a big boost for them. They might even attract potential investors in their country to put up blockchain/crypto related companies.
7675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: October Could Still Be The Month For A Major Bitcoin Bull Run on: October 13, 2018, 02:36:34 PM
I don't think that the IMF statement has something to do with the spike in price to $66xx. Actually we have so many positive news around but its not enough to really put some dent on the price because the game has changed again, meaning everyone is squeezing to get some easy profit by day trading.

You will noticed that we will have a spike followed by a sideway trading, which shows its not sustainable and after a few days the price will go down because traders needs to cash out and take home some profits. So I'm not totally sold on having a bull run this month, just because of some positive news.
7676  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Which one is more better: Doing bounties on Bitcointalk or Managers website on: October 13, 2018, 02:17:42 PM
Most of the bounty managers have their website in which they upload the bounties in which they manage and make it easy for the hunters to find the bounties they manage and easy accessible for hunters. But these managers don't do upload spreadsheet for hunters to see their stakes.

I heard that there are bounty portals already floating around but I haven't join anyone yet so I'm not aware that they're not uploading any spreadsheet for hunters to see their current stakes. If that is the case then as bounty hunters, I would stay away from that because its not transparent.

The bounty managers on Bitcointalk always have their spreadsheet shown to hunters and make them awear of the qualified people and the rejected hunters  , but to find the bounty of some favourite bounty managers is not that easy.

Why its not easy? All you have to do is follow the managers telegram so that you will get updated. Plus there are members who created a list of the current bounties like tvplus006. So you can quickly scan current bounties and see what bounties you wanted to join.

We're already in mid October unfortunately, there's not even one sign that we are going to see the bulls making a comeback at this time. Again, we have a lot of positives news but sad to say its not enough to push and make a reversal. Last year was different so its obvious that we won't replicate it this year.

I mean if bull run will happen, it will at some point. We don't need to wait because if it will happen, then if will happen. The problem is that we are still attached to last year's performance but we totally forgot that past performance is not a indication for a future success specially how volatile crypto market is.

I wouldn't be so negative.  There is no reason we can't reach new highs by the end of this year.  Bitcoin is still higher than it was this time one year ago.  It only rook a few months for bitcoin to soar from 5k up to 20k.  A lot of experts are still calling for a 25k by the end of this year.  The whales have made a lot of us doubt crypto prices but when the bull starts they will jump right back in.

Of course I'm very bullish about bitcoin. However, if you look at the current trend, it seems that there's not enough push from investors to put their cash on the market again. Well the $5k-$20k run different, too many good news coming our way. But this year was different though.

I know one perma-bull who already changed his tune - Mike Novogratz, https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/03/bitcoin-wont-top-9000-by-years-end-former-hedge-fund-legend-novogratz-says.html.

So let's see how it goes leading to the end of the year. Its better to be prepared if there's no bull run instead of waiting for it and you didn't do any adjustments on your end.
7679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do(es) Whale(s) really still exist in Bitcoin ? on: October 13, 2018, 01:21:57 PM
I have read this article before, https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-08/the-bitcoin-whales-1-000-people-who-own-40-percent-of-the-market.

True or not, whales exist on other market as well. The only difference is that in crypto, we only have addresses, with no associated names. So all we can do is speculate it indeed they exist or who owns that huge amount of bitcoins. There are speculations as well that they do connive with one another at some point to bring down the price so that they can accumulate more.
