8621  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Forgot password and second password but have ... FOR PRO MEMBERS on: October 30, 2017, 12:33:25 PM
Most probably it is an encrypted wallet, as you said "the private key looks like: long string /short string A==", Hence recovery of bitcoin is only possible with a password. If you don't remember that then try to remember, you can brute force the password if you remember some part of it. that is all what can you do. Don't forget to search your PC or Home for the recovery backup phrase as with that you can easily get access to your bitcoins.

Yeah probably encrypted so the best thing to do is to brute force it. However, there are services that being offered here to somewhat help you brute force your password. Just you search the forum dude, you don't know maybe they have help you recovered your account and your bitcoins. I just hope that you learn a valuable lesson here. Questions though, how much bitcoin is in your wallet though, seems that you didn't put it up.
8622  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin regaining dominance. on: October 30, 2017, 11:43:39 AM
I think, bitcoin will always be dominant to all other cryptocurrencies, with its price being on top with a miles rate away from the second highest coin, its gonna be hard to surpass that or even to equate it. Knowing that bitcoin has lots of investors and most eyes of people in the cryotoworld are on bitcoin, it adds to the dominance of bitcoin. I think bitcoin is just gonna keep on moving forward, increasing its rate to nobody can tell.
We all have always known Bitcoin to be regaining its stand no matter whatever it is that happens, but the only reason we seem to draw back when all these kind of things are happening is because you can never tell what the future brings (if only we do) Bitcoin can end anytime, when you least expected it. So we’re being always being very careful.

No question that bitcoin is very dominant nowadays, specially when the price shoots up to $6000 and their will be no challenger. However, we still have drawbacks like negative news really impacted us hard like just last month. That's why there's some question on its dominance. However, you have to look at it as just a challenge because I believed that bitcoin is still in its early stage, infancy perhaps. And yes we can really see what the future brings so that best thing we can do its just be careful of our investments.
8623  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptorobo trustable? on: October 30, 2017, 11:03:58 AM
What do you guys think of cryptorobo. Can it be successful to invest? Or what other way would you recommend ?

Completely scam.

As soon as you see the words "doubling bitcoin" you need to take a step back and close that site straightaway. This site is exactly that kind of site - trying to scam money from people that have just entered the crypto scene.

There are no services that will double your bitcoins without you giving them something in return. It's either a ponzi, or just a scam.

Exactly, I didn't bother to open the website though, lately you will noticed that a lot of doubler has been popping out because the price of bitcoin is skyrocketing and they want to take advantage of everyone who is willing to put their money on them. Hackers, scammers are very very much active. So it gonna be really difficult for us specially if you see that they will promise to give back huge dividends. Be careful and used your common sense and avoid them at all cost. You will just regret your decision later if you have invested money on them and they just simply run.
8624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining with mobile device on: October 30, 2017, 09:04:02 AM
Is mining with mobile device a profitable venture today? I read a bit about this and learned that Monero maybe worth mining. then there's Electroneum as well. I wanted to know from other's experience.

One might ask why spend on buying phones. Instead get a PC. Thing is I have few old phones that I can't sell, I want to see possibility of getting some cost back before giving/throwing them away

I think Samsung has already started mining with some of their old mobile phones, sort of doing re-cycling. But I don't know what much hash power it can produced though or it is profitable or not. They are just doing some experience to recycle old phones or course to become environment friendly. Monero has been breaking grounds with its browsing mining which turns out to be profitable. But mining with mobile phone, I haven't seen any reports yet.

8625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why all other coins pretending to be bitcoin will fail (including BTG). on: October 30, 2017, 06:40:44 AM
I see it differently. These Bitcoin Cash supporters pump the price and it goes up. The BTC supporters received free Bitcoin Cash and they did not dump all of it for BTC yet, so they wait for the pump to sell at a higher price. Every time it goes up, BTC supporters with Free coins dump some coins and the price goes down again.

The Bitcoin Cash supporters cannot stop pumping it, because it will collapse to nothing. So BTC supporters are taking more and more money from the Bitcoin Cash supporters with every pump. Soon their money will run out and it will collapse. ^smile^

Nice mate, you exposed some of our strategy. LOL. They think they can outsmart bitcoin holders, but its the other way around. I know that there are still holder on BCH and some of us here are buying it in this and hoping for a big pump later. Bitcoin holders as you describe then dump their coins during the pump taking home profits. LOL. Well we are here for making money then I guess they can't blame bitcoin supporters. BCH will still exist, no doubt but just like any other altcoins, for P & D purposes only.
8626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: future about Bitcoin on: October 30, 2017, 04:58:12 AM
In November, more Chinese Exchange will reopen. What is your opnion about the Bitcoin industry?

Are you referring to Huobi who recently open? or more Chinese exchanges are soon to be open in November?

My opinion is that it will not greatly affect the market price because as I understand it, they will disallow BTC/CNY pairing. And besides we already surpassed the China effect already, investors and market are doing just fined without the Chinese exchanges so I guess they are no longer a major force in the bitcoin ecosystem. If they decided to go back then its ok, if not then much better.
8627  Economy / Speculation / Re: New Fibonacci pattern identified - awesome analysis - next crash at $8000 on: October 29, 2017, 08:38:13 PM
I'm always sceptical when it comes to technical analysis on a bitcoin chart. The reasoning behind this being the fact that our brain thinks in patterns. So often we would believe we've seen a pattern while  in reality there was none. That's why I'd prefer fundamental analysis over technical analysis on a cryptocurrency chart. We might see another crash at 8000$, we'll never know for sure. Time will tell.

For me, technical analysis doesn't work on bitcoin price movement because its purely based on speculation. That's why I found a lot of TA in the past failed so I guess there's no TA that can fit how the price movement of bitcoin is. Until we have truly crossed that price we can't never really tell it. With that said, we can't never really tell it or predict the price based on TA alone, maybe we need another form of analysis that will worked in conjunction with it so at least make the a 'good' prediction.
8628  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: Exposed? on: October 29, 2017, 07:45:06 PM
A documentary here in the Philippines entitled: FAILON NGAYON have exposed Bitcoin as a type of scam.
It goes like this: a callcenter agent guy invested on one of the sh*tcoins here. He invested a fair amount of money into it as a promise projection of 50% gain for about 3 months. After 3 months have passed and he was about to withdrawn the money, support system from that UK based comoany was suddenly became unresponsive.
Financial analyst said that bitcoin is being used by some scammers to phish for money from users through untrusted sites.
I think that due to anonymity, it is very hard to track down those people who uses bitcoin for scamming.
For me, I think you just invest amount ofnmeny that you can afford to lose. Secondly, just transact with secured sites and not fall for get rich quick schemes because most likely thisnis a scam.
What are your thoughts on this?

Care to share the link?

I'm interested to see how good the scammers are in convincing the victim to invest her/him in putting the hard earn money. And it says UK company? How did a UK company involved in the Philippines? There are a lot of scams there, specially in the Philippines, not only bitcoin but Nigerians operating in the country. I guess they didn't check the background and they all believed the words of the scammer, that's why I want to see how good the ass*** that you quickly believed everything the scammer says. My thoughts is that you should not believed and trust anyone specially your hard earn money, and bitcoin is not the only thing that they can take advantage and commit their crimes.
8629  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin from $6000 to $5500 on: October 29, 2017, 08:14:59 AM
I just checked poloniex today and btcprice went don't to $5506.28 so that would be -$500 dive. Is this because of the upcoming fork? Can somebody enlighten me what could be causing this?

Whenever a pump takes over, there will always be a correction. It has always been this way and there is absolutely no way that bitcoin's price can keep growing just without stop, it's just not going to happen.

Also, bitcoin gold was priced into bitcoin already in my opinion.

When the snapshot was taken, the price was taken out of bitcoin essentially. But it has now recovered to around $5800 again.

Agreed, the parabolic state cannot sustained itself. There will be a time that we needed a price correction along the way to put bitcoin on the next level. What we should think is that if there's a massive run, then lets go along with it and when there's a price correction, don't sell just hodl and wait for another bull run. That should be our mindset and not to panick when we just see a few dips here and there, its a normal process and I'm sure the OP can get a long with it, if he's gonna stay and stick on the market scene.
8630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you diversify? on: October 29, 2017, 07:08:26 AM
I would like to divide this question into two different ones:

1)   Do you have your investments diversified in general and don’t only hold bitcoin? I mean if you also have stocks, funds, bonds, metals, participations in businesses etc.

Yes, I also have stock investments. Well it was before I discovered bitcoin so its logically that I still have and holding it till now. I also have a business so I guess you can call it diversification.

2)   Do you hold only bitcoin or do you also hold other cryptos?

My answer is yes to 1) and not yet to 2) but I will.

Initially, I not only hold bitcoin but other altcoins as well, But I dumped all my altcoins in favor of bitcoin only. As I see that bitcoin specially for long term hold is the best choice and fit my schedule. (I can't do day trading with altcoins anymore, change of priority, hard to track on my end).

8631  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1 Year Anniversary @bitcointalk, $600+ to $6000+ on: October 29, 2017, 06:33:26 AM
I just like to post my 1 year anniversary in Bitcointalk.org and share my experience after a year.

As far as I remember I first discovered Bitcoin because I did some online task in a website that is paying a very small amount of $ and I am earning a small amount of cents on it back then and one day they announced that they are thinking to pay the workers with Bitcoin if a large portion of us agrees to it as a payment in the future payouts and that is the day that I got curious in what is Bitcoin all about.

At first I am so innocent in what is this digital online currency is all about and I am shocked to its value back then, it was $635 per 1 Bitcoin when I saw it. And I searched it over and over again until I understand what it is and how to use it as a currency and guess what it was very hard to understand it because most of the terms that is being use is not familiar with my vocabulary like cryptocurrency, cryptography, Bitcoin address, Bitcoin wallet, etc.

I got so interested with Bitcoin since I knew it and until now I still have a lot to learn about it and every single day of my life is almost into it. The value of it now while I am typing this is $5,738.06 and it already break $6,100 price last week, Bitcoin is always make me interested day by day because if its price and the growth of it in just a short period of time as everything can really happens in an instant.

Feel free to share your Bitcoin experience here at my thread if you want.

I would surely write again a post just like this with my 2nd year anniversary next year  Wink

What a journey man!!!. Truly bitcoin has been a blessing for almost all of us and glad that we have found it one thing or another. We may have different ways to how we managed to find bitcoin, but once we did, we never even bother to lose our site on it. I'm been on a roller coaster ride with bitcoin as well, however, I just decided to stick to it more than ever because I see a lot of potential and I have tried to maximized every opportunity to earn because the future of bitcoin is looking great and bright. I'm sure that when you 2nd anniversary arrived, bitcoin price is already doubled or even tripled. Lets all enjoy this ride and I'm sure everyone will have a long and lasting experienced.

8634  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in 2018 on: October 24, 2017, 06:30:31 PM
Of course, it's impossible to predict exact price, but what are your predictions/wishes/guesses?
Thank you for your answers.

Good question. Yes, its really hard to predict the price going to 2018, but I have a feeling that we can go above $7000 or even more. The price could be $8000 tops, assuming there's no more drama coming are way. As bitcoin is more of a speculative asset, a simple negative news will have a lot of effect to the market. Although we have matured not to listen to FUD, there's still newcomers who are easily swayed by news without researching if its true or not. They just panic and push and make sell orders. If they would just used common sense. its better to hold than sell your coins. If everything goes as planned after the looming Segwit2x in November, I'd say $8000 tops in 2018.
8635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin reaches a record level, surpassing $ 6,000 on: October 24, 2017, 02:31:23 PM
This is not shocking at all  because the rate at which bitcoin is trending this has to happen.  And I believe that there will be more and more increase in prices of bitcoins. Bitcoins is trending in society, everyone wants to own bitcoin and investors are investing in bitcoins.  I think $6000dollars is start,  bitcoin will have a long journey.  Bitcoins has broke all records set regarding its prices. Bitcoin are attracting investors and many big huge investment banks are investing in bitcoins.

But it looks like that we spoke too soon again. Bitcoin has reached its peaked already, and now the price is going down after the fork. Although I personally thought that it can go higher still, but tough for investors not to sell bitcoin because of the price. Again, its currently down to $5600, but I'm still very positive that we can regain it soon. October is coming to an end, and the Bitcoin Gold rush is over, we can now set our minds on the next, Segwit2x in November. Maybe we can get over $6000 once more and then go to $7000. But for now, eventhough the price is below $6000, it is very very good to end this month.
8636  Economy / Economics / Re: Wasn't that good to use bitcoin as your lifetime asset? on: October 24, 2017, 01:46:09 PM
yes i have been in bitcoin for a year now and been enjoying its amazing benefits but since bitcoin doesn’t have the general guidelines, policies and terms yet, i don’t consider it as a liftime asset. Probably i will not have my wallet without a coin and some investments but there will come a time that i’ll still encash it and invest another.

It doesn't have a set of guidelines simply because its de-centralized, no central authority. If you are looking for guidelines then bitcoin is not for you, you can go back to the old traditional banks. We are on our banks in bitcoin. So we have the responsibilities to protect it all cost and not to someone. Of course during the course of your bitcoin holding, there will come a time that you need to cash it out. But I disagree with you investing it on another. However, personally, the only thing that I will invest my bitcoin holding is going to real property like house or apartment. I won't invest on other things. Not on stocks, or bonds. Maybe in a business perhaps, but its good to just hold and removed yourself from having stress if you put up a business.
8637  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A decentralised marketplace for computing on: October 24, 2017, 12:38:17 PM
It would actually be great to have a cloud server offering its services in return of Bitcoin. Maybe there are already such services accepting Bitcoin but i have never seen one. The time when i used to use VPS, i did not know anything about Bitcoin, and i used to just try the services with trials and never bought one, but now when i know about Bitcoin, in fact, i have Bitcoin, if there will be a platform that would offer them accepting Bitcoins, i would love to use them in future if needed.

Same here, I haven't seen anyone yet that accepts bitcoin. I used a lot of VPS services since 2009 with my different project before, so I would really appreciate if there's someone out there accepting bitcoin as mode of payment.

Hello guys,

Actors like Google cloud or Amazon Web Service control most of the computing market today and charge us ridiculous prices. We think it is time for a user-friendly platform that charges you the right price : the price of the computing resources you have used.
What do you think ?

I agree. Since those two are really dominating and has total market monopoly, its really hard to buy because they are charging ridiculous prices. But if there's someone out there who can offer us a lower price specially with bitcoin, I think they will find it a good competition and maybe lower their prices soon.
8638  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-24] Jamie Dimon Should Learn About Bitcoin, Says Wamda Capital’s CEO on: October 24, 2017, 11:16:39 AM
He raises a valid point, However, Jamie Dimon is very close minded specially with bitcoin. He's very insecure as far as I see it. And there's always 2 opposing side of the spectrum here. There's also someone who is going to attack bitcoin, in this case Mr. hin and on the other side, CEO's who find nothing wrong with it. And I totally agree with him, each investors are different and we know that risk, if is a bubble the let it be. But there still investors who are going a lot of money on the ecosystem because they are willing to take the risk in order to get good dividends.
8639  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investing all my savings! on: October 24, 2017, 10:18:17 AM
Hello guys! I am planning on investing all my savings (12500$) in cryptocurrency, so I would really like to hear your opinion. My current plan is to split it in to 3 :
-50% bitcoin.
-25% ethereum.
-25% litecoin.

I am investing the money at the next dip.
Please post your opinion guys.

Edit: I should mention that this is for a longtherm hold, about 5-10 years

Sorry for my bad english, but I am better reading it than writing it.. :p

I think you have a good portfolio. But what I'm afraid of is that you are going all in. What will be your Plan B if it didn't went your way? At least have some money for you daily or month needs dude. Just my advise. If you are planning it for long term? No question that bitcoin is for long term, but I'm afraid its not the case for Ethereum and Litecoin. Really hard to speculate on them specially long term, they are best short term for me. At least invest on bitcoin only with around 60%-80% of your savings so that you still have 40%-20% as your buffer. Don't go all in.
8640  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be careful. (Newbies and others ...) on: October 24, 2017, 09:05:10 AM
After bitcoin  price break 6,000$ all will buy more from it
Yes you're right, I also thinking like that.. surely most people will take advantage of the situation when the price break from $6000 that's a time to buy, because indeed surely bitcoin price will still be able to reach $6000 again, even it could be more from $6000.

Bitcoin price is slumping right now. I think for me, this is really a good buying point. I'm expecting that we are going to be stable around $6000 after the fork but most of the investors are dumping and taking home some profit. Not bad, but others should take advantage of this situation to buy more bitcoins. Its really hard to miss this opportunity. No need to go back to altcoins because they have already recovered. People should cash out their bitcoin gold and put it all in bitcoin. I will surely buy in this bitcoin dip around $5600.
