81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: November 20, 2023, 09:46:45 PM
The cryptocurrency landscape is gradually taking a new turn and am loving it already. It's like the era of BTC dominance and dictation of other altcoins performance is gradually winding down.

TAO, KAS, BGB, TIA among other numerous altcoins are among those that have recorded ATH recently even as BTC struggle to hold up the $36,500 resistance.

Among other altcoins that have been impressive are ORDI, SATS, VMPX, WOJAK and PEPE1.

Fortunately there is an ongoing event for new users on Bitget where there is  $10,000 prize pool in the latest Hotcoins season 5 edition.

As we look forward to the anticipated bullrun come 2024, what altcoins are you holding and why do you think they will bring more returns compared to others?
For now, I still don't see altcoins that have high potentials to grow and could be an asset for long term hodling, except for Ethereum that has established his value for years now. I'm more on focused on bitcoin accumulation most especially that the market is looking more positive due to the incoming bull run by next year.

Bitcoin still dominates the market until this time, and no existing altcoins that can beat Bitcoin for now. But to be honest, I'm open for altcoin investments in the future as long as I can prove the worth of these coins, and as long as they're not into pump and dump scheme just like majority of the altcoins in the market.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this a good advice? on: November 20, 2023, 08:58:34 PM
Certainly,  a very bad advice that gamblers should never believe. Otherwise, you will end up gambling with an empty pocket because of gambling addiction. And just accept the fact that the moment you gamble, you are already losing, and as much as you want to prolong your gambling habit, then the bigger the amount that you will lose, and not because you are already close to winning.

I have seen a lot of gamblers chasing their losses, so they gamble up to their last money but still have never hit that jackpot prize. This is mostly done by beginners, as they believe that after consistent losing, they might end up winning big, but it's never true, instead they lose all their money while regretting.
83  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would you tell your younger self to learn this space efficiently? on: November 17, 2023, 06:09:58 PM
Hello,

With all the knowledge you have everything regarding cryptocurrency, what would you tell your younger self in order to learn the best / fastest to get the most out of this space?

Such as: trading, strategies, technical info, learning methods etc etc,

Any help or guidance is appreciated  Cheesy
First, I will tell myself to stick to bitcoin and never get tempted to trust too good to be true altcoins as they're nothing but certainly a playground of crypto scammers. Diversifying is good but you can always diversify Bitcoin with other type of investments like stocks or real estate, and not that bitcoin mixed with altcoins.

Second is, do your own diligence to learn in all aspects. Learning does not need to stop when you are already in a higher rank or position, but make sure to learn every time from your actions and decisions so you won't keep repeating the same mistakes and still lose in the end.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. on: November 17, 2023, 01:51:50 PM
Bitcoin will not make you instantly rich, but if you know the secret strategy to increase your bitcoin hodling  and you’re aware on how to deal with the risk and manage your investment, in less time you will eventually become rich. Although it’s a long term investment with a maximum of 5-10 years, but with patience and understanding on the market volatility, you will end up seeing yourself in highly financial security.

However, if you invest full of greed that you want quick profits at the earliest time possible, believe me bitcoin will not make you rich but will make you suffer and lose your capital. Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme, but it’s one of the most effective and profitable investments that will create life changing opportunities and profits to make  you rich and wealthy.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use bitcoin when gambling? on: November 17, 2023, 05:15:42 AM
No more messing with bitcoins for me; I'm into altcoins now, especially TRX and XRP, and sometimes USDT. They're quicker and cheaper, perfect for my gambling adventures. While I do earn some bitcoins, I usually swap them for altcoins when the gambling itch kicks in. With bitcoin's crazy transaction fees, it's a hassle to move it to an exchange for gambling. So yeah, feeling a bit restricted in my gambling game these days.
86  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's better to provide Quality and not Quantity... on: November 16, 2023, 09:37:58 PM
We are in a forum that provides more learning interaction than just creating gossips and spreading fake news. That is why we need to come up with post that are highly valuable that will bring positive effects on the learners, and that they will use it to improve their way of posting. So let's focus on quality over quantity. This is to encourage every member to acquire knowledge first and analyze the content of the post prior to posting and sharing it in the forum.  If we can follow this, this forum will provide more learning experience not just on part of the newbies but even to the veterans in the forum as well.

However, learning to create quality post does not happen all of a sudden. It takes time and will continue to develop more if we see more quality post in the forum.
87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I go with Bitcoin or Altcoins for the upcoming bull run cycle? on: November 16, 2023, 08:43:29 PM
Investing in altcoins is not a wise option when we talk about an asset. They are not an asset except a few coins; most of them are just garbage. You can only get profit from altcoins if you are lucky. Mostly people lose their investments in altcoins because of scams. Altcoins are just a waste of time and money.
Bitcoin is the best option to invest. Invest now and exit at the ATH/ set price target. After the BTC bull run, if you are still interested in making some bucks, invest in potential altcoins such as ETH, SOL, etc., because after the BTC bull run, there will surely be an altcoin season.
Altcoins only add to the high risk of losing when we are investing that's why we should learn to avoid them as much as possible most especially those new too good to be true projects that suddenly arise in the market. Instead, stick to bitcoin for better and positive results especially if you are still in the process of building your wealth in your investment portfolio.

However, that does not mean that you will not invest in altcoins anymore in your whole life. Of course, you also need to explore the world of altcoins but make sure to do it when you are already an experienced investor so that you will come to invest wisely and cautiously.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 16, 2023, 04:36:30 AM
Is that true that James Harden wanted out of the Clippers in just 5 games? or is this a rumor?
It's said that it's for real but not until it's official, then it remains as a rumor. But you know with these locker room conversations, most of them are real.

Harden just can't accept the disaster he brought to LA. If he gets out and does not help fix the problem, that would result in a bad reputation for him, which is not good considering he is still a high-paid player. So, next time he signs a contract, he might get a lower salary than Westbrook.

What we heard probably is just part of their frustrations. A team that is consistent in the playoffs is currently on a long losing streak. It's really frustrating, but they could end that slump once they beat the Rockets in their next game.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: November 16, 2023, 04:16:08 AM
Well, it's not too difficult for me to manage my bankroll for my gambling activities, because I usually manage my money every month for whatever things, and I usually set aside a maximum of 10% of my salary every month for gambling. The point is that if you are used to managing your finances and are disciplined and can control your emotions, I think it won't be difficult to manage your bankroll, because that's the only key to being good at it.

I guess OP is a regular gambler and needs some advice from other regular gamblers as well. If we gamble occasionally or bet a small percentage of our income, then probably we can't relate to what OP has experienced, and therefore, we can't give the right answer he's looking for.

OP was asking about managing bankroll, not how much we allocate from our income.
90  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you overcome the hurdles and gain confidence to trade as a Newbie? on: November 15, 2023, 09:15:36 PM
Entering the world of Bitcoin trading can be both exciting and daunting, especially for newcomers. The volatile nature of cryptocurrency markets and the plethora of information available can sometimes overwhelm new traders.

Todays question i would share how we overcame these hurdles and gain confidence to trade as a Newbie?.
The truth it's hard to establish confidence when you are trading as a newbie. Yes, the market may seem more attractive and promising to you but wait until you experience your initial losses consistently, you can really say that trading is never easy as it is. But we all know that these mistakes and losses have really build our confidence and skills as we continue to trade until we start improving our trading performance.

Everyone that trade as a newbie started from a scratch. But the challenge is how you will sustain yourself in trading despite of how it can turn you broke every time you end up trading with a loss. But as they say, winner never quits. Probably that was my stand in trading that made me reveal who I am today in trading.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / For sports bettors, are you attracted with bet builder feature? on: November 15, 2023, 01:15:38 PM
I just recently explored the bet builder feature of the sportsbook I'm currently using, and I find it interesting as you can have more bets combine in just one game which is impossible on parlay bets. So I'd like to hear your thoughts regarding this, is it also profitable or just a waste of money?
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: November 15, 2023, 12:55:44 PM
Fighters that we think are going to be underdogs are underdogs come Sunday it will be regular boxing day, where the favorites will dominate or even knock out the underdogs but I'm hoping for a very different scenario, like a huge upset or the underdogs putting up a valiant effort even thought they lose by decision, one case here is the Ngannou - Fury recent fight where we all thought its another favorite underdog scenario, but Ngannou putting a major surprise.
I hope to see this happens in any of the fight this Sunday, just a gallant effort from the underdogs is already good.
People are paying to have a good fight so I hope we'll see something unexpected come Sunday

Yup, at least they will give us a good fight as most probably the underdog will lose here as Stevenson is a clever boxer and him being the loser is a slim possibility. I'm hoping that De Los Santos would engage and take the fight to Shakur because if not, this could become a snore feast as the latter is more of a counter-puncher.

Bookies predict that this would end up in a decision so i'm really hoping that this would not be a boring fight.

The odds are quite appealing, especially with 12 rounds to wait for the KO to occur. While Stevenson isn't known for being a knockout artist, De Los Santos is an aggressive fighter. If De Los Santos becomes careless or desperate, Stevenson might capitalize on the opportunity to land effective counter punches, potentially wearing down De Los Santos.

I agree with your prediction, mate. A 3.30 odds are always more enticing than 1.28.

We will see, that's quite appealing odds for a KO for Stevenson, specially if he will do it in under 10.5 rounds. And if someone either bet on that, it's going to be a big win as the odds is above 3.xx which is very attractive.

Is the odds for a KO win still the same? If that's the case, there's really no incentive to go for a KO win under 10.5 rounds since we have a better chance of winning if we bet on the fight going the distance. Stevenson isn't particularly known for securing victories via KO in the majority of his matches, so we're essentially betting against the odds here. But that's what makes gambling so exciting, it adds an extra layer of excitement.

So let's see how Stevenson will perform here, I'm starting to like this kid, so I will go with him winning via KO.

Nothing is great by betting on a huge odds like it and there could also a chance that you could score a KO because he needed a signature win in this division.
Great analysis! Indeed, Stevenson has a need to maintain a good reputation in this division since some view him as a boring fighter. Securing a victory via KO could really elevate his status in the boxing world, sparking conversations about the unexpected from Stevenson.

The catch, however, is that Stevenson is already a guaranteed winner. The only scenario where we might face a loss is if the victory doesn't come through a KO. (That's the risk of our bet)
93  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Security Should Be Your First Target as a Newbie on: November 14, 2023, 10:00:09 PM
Security is its utmost important regardless if you are a newbie or an experienced one in your bitcoin investment. It's useless to attract a lot of profits in your investment when you don't even know how to secure well your coins in your wallet. That is why by creating a hardware wallet wherein you can be free from scammers online is a big factor to obtain security. And by choosing not to disclose or share anything about your wallet most especially your private keys, you are keeping the high security of your own wallet.

This will only be possible if you are educated enough on what type of investment you are entering and how to secure the safety of your own coins in your wallet. Otherwise, a lot of scammers will be eyeing on you if you resort being careless because you are busy planning on how to make your investment more profitable while leaving its high security at stake.

94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 14, 2023, 08:49:12 PM
Something similar happens on YouTube too, here you will come across comments saying, I made this much money listening to this financial experts and there will be details to contact them.
This is the most common lines online, most especially in youtube and facebook. If you can be easily lured by their most convincing and powerful words, they will certainly put you in their trap. Such common words used online, but still a lot of people most especially for beginners who have nothing but greed are still falling on them. Know that if they are really successful and profitable with their business online, they will not invite various people anymore and just keep their secrets all by theirselves.

This is a clear proof that everything you see or hear in the social media may not be true and can't be trusted. So always analyze the given offers carefully, and never easily bite them. And once they start to ask for money, just block them immediately, they're real scammers that we need to avoid.

96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 14, 2023, 11:51:09 AM
That Clippers experiment seems to be a failure in terms of their performances, might be needed to change the coach or maybe another trade
the 4 stars selection is not working for them.

Changing the coach would be insane, especially considering that their decision to make the trade was aimed at addressing lineup issues. They are actively working to improve, so contemplating a coaching change seems like a bad idea. They are in the midst of fixing the problem, so it's important to give them the time to make the necessary adjustments.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking back at the past, one of those statements gained respect over time. on: November 13, 2023, 09:42:41 PM
Damn, this guy had predicted the future of Bitcoin 10 years ago. He kinda looks suspicious with all those pictures, bragging with private jets, expensive cars and luxurious lifestyle. All the online scammers brag about their wealth and success.
However, I wouldn't take his advise about buying 1 USD worth of BTC seriously. What was the BTC price back in May 2013? Several hundred dollars? If you have bought 1 USD worth of BTC back in 2013 and current value of this 1 USD worth of BTC would be 100USD at maximum.
I have had many moments, when I've missed the opportunity of making more money, but there's no point of feeling regrets. I guess that it wasn't my destiny to make lots of easy money at the earlier stages in my life.
We all have regrets when we were not able to appreciate and take advantage of early opportunities from Bitcoin, and for me instead of being stuck with all those regrets, why not use it as a good motivation these days to take advantage of the different opportunities that bitcoin has to offer. That way, we can still be profitable with bitcoin knowing there's no late when it comes to bitcoin.

However, maybe some of us have followed his piece of advice and live the best of their lives these days. Soon we will also be in their position. Patience and perseverance is the key.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 13, 2023, 12:51:47 PM
Castro seems needs to adjust and go back in time, without Mickey and Roger TNT is really needed him, Oftana can't do it alone plus the fact that earlier even RHJ is back he needed to rest late in the third quarter not sure because any injury but TNT needs to survive without him and good thing that they manage to escape that game as Converge manage to force the game into OT. I was thinking to place some spare for the handicap but I doubt them since RHJ is playing, sorry missed but that's gambling hahaha..

TNT needs the young guys to step up; Castro can't be playing heavy minutes considering his age. He isn't LeBron, so there's a likelihood that he'll get injured, and TNT will miss a reliable point guard. They are still in the running this season; they secured their first win. They just have to play smarter next time and manage Castro's minutes effectively. Additionally, RHJ needs to step up his game.

They don't have as many scorers compared to SMB and Ginebra, so if Castro can maintain his consistency, perhaps in the next game, they'll also need contributions from their veterans like Ryan Reyes, Khobuntin, and Heruela. Oftana is expected to remain consistent, having done so twice in a row already. With the team undermanned, missing Pogoy and now with Williams reportedly out fo the team, they need to make the most of what they have.

TNT was supposed to be a championship team, especially with JB out and RHJ proving to be a good import with excellent chemistry with his teammates. However, it's unfortunate that Pogoy and Williams are out—Williams permanently, as confirmed by recent news.

99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding for long might not be the best option. on: November 10, 2023, 02:31:35 PM
There has been several occasions of people saying buy and hold without consedring the negative effect it has impacted on many people live. Lets take for instance, when bitcoin was at ATH of about $69k somany people bought at same price expecting it to hit $100k and above while some baugh at the price when it was 40, 50, $60k conservatively. When it was going down to even $20k people keep on holding. Now it's about 2 years since bitcoin fell and never meet up with the price they baught. And they are hoping it comes back after losing huge amount of money. New investors are are taking advages of it while the old investors are regretting.

So I sudjest sometimes if the market is going down beyond bearable measures, there is need to swap your BTC to USDT to keep your capital safe in other to buy back when it is going up to avoid loosing some huge amount of money.

So what's your sudjestion on this.
This is why once we decide to invest in bitcoin, make sure that you are going to hold it for long term, let's say 5-10 years may be good enough. And always invest using your spare money so that even if your price expectation will not be achieved, at least you would not be in panic trying to sell it at a lower price in order to cut your losses. Bitcoin is for long term investment, that is if you aim to maximize your profits when bull run comes.

However, due to the hype that happens when bull run is present, it's hard to stop the people from buying bitcoin even at its higher price. Their mindset is that bitcoin price will keep on growing and once their target price is achieved, they will immediately sell their coins and gain massive profits. But in reality, bitcoin sometimes follow an opposite direction. Instead of seeing it soaring high, its price will suddenly drop at its deepest that will create panic on the new investors which made them decide to sell at a loss.
100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Simple Yet Powerful Message That Will Always Hold True on: November 10, 2023, 01:54:39 PM
The message to newbies has always been the same since the beginning of time. From bitcoin creation to the very time altcoin started to pop up, till the era of NFTs, airdrops and other silly nonsense that shows up to deceive the naive ones. This is the simple message being reiterated -  "Just buy bitcoin and hold your own keys or else you are going to get scammed"
~
Well, I want to agree on what the OP has advised to us, but it would be better if you indicated in the subject title that this "Simple yet Powerful Message" are only for newbies out there who don't know where to invest their money with.

I believe that newbies really need to focus their money in investing into Bitcoin "ONLY" as it's considered the "SAFE" asset by many people. It might be a safe asset, but I would call it "the safest cryptocurrency you can invest your money with". That would be better, but overall, I guess OP already shared important details that a newbies must know. Focus on Bitcoin first, and be patient.

Now what about those not newbies anymore? Will you still recommend them to just invest only on Bitcoin, and disregards those altcoins out there especially those that are on the top in terms of market cap?
It's not bad to diversify bitcoin with altcoins as long as you are in the right coins to invest, which can also sustain the market volatility and won't definitely end up with zero value. However, even if those altcoins are on top of the market cap, we can't be sure that they're not gonna fall in the long run as  majority of the altcoins are just profitable at the beginning but eventually lost their significant value in the end, which means these type of altcoins will only add to its higher risk of losing.

I have been in the same situation way back then and have trusted these altcoins but all I got are just losses. The reason why I just want to stick to bitcoin for long term investment and just continue doing DCA to maximize my portfolio before this bitcoin halving is supposed to happen.
