801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cuba opens its own exchange on: April 26, 2020, 06:44:05 AM
Another country joins the cryptocurrency space  Grin. I don't know the adoption rate of Cuba but this will no doubt help them buy Bitcoin easily and safely compared to traditional exchanges in the internet. I'm kind of interested on how Cuba will cope with cryptocurrency during this tough times though (Corona and economies crashing).

By the way OP, you should include the source of your news in your post.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *Whales Alert* 240 million worth Ethereum moved and only $200 paid in fees. on: April 26, 2020, 03:19:03 AM
If that person really where to sell that, I'm sure that he will lose profit instead of selling it bit by bit, I assume he is not stupid enough to do that. But I wouldn't really be scared since it is ETH, it doesn't really matter to other altcoins whether they crash or not. If the buying power is more than the selling power of the whale (Assuming that he really is selling it bit by bit) then there's no reason for ETH not to rise in price.

But for that amount, what's more impressive is the fee he paid to transfer such huge amount. Maybe that's the reason he use ETH? to transfer that amount then make it fiat again?
803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The growth of cryptocurrency on: April 26, 2020, 03:07:18 AM
1. To be honest, without cryptocurrency, we wouldn't even get to have a censorship in our money. It really helps me own my own money, not controlled by any high ups. It also helps me with my business.

2. Since 2017, it has been a long journey and Bitcoin really changed my perspective about money. I also become knowledgeable about money which I think I wouldn't even learn without Bitcoin and its community because school rarely or even doesn't teach us about it.

3. I first heard it in a group where they talk about deep webs and stuffs in it. They talk about Bitcoin and its relationship to silk road. In 2017, I found an app in the app store where you can get free Bitcoin (All the apps in the store is scam btw) which then led me to the forum and the rest is history.
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTOCURRENCY IN NORTH KOREA on: April 26, 2020, 02:49:23 AM
I really highly doubt that they even have access to computer. I found a Blog/Documentary about the citizens of north Korea, most workers there who is working near a computer doesn't even know how to use it so when the interview was being made, they just fake using a computer, so I think only few knows how to use computer and internet there. They even filter internet and even filter televisions to control the citizens. Unless they really changed their government, there will only be a few select individual who can or will use cryptocurrency.
805  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Covid-19 a cause for BTC price drops? on: April 25, 2020, 03:18:25 AM
I think COVID-19 is the driving force for bitcoin price to pump in the future. Because as you know, this virus can spread through fiat. Governments encourage people to buy goods online and pay with cryptocurrencies. Besides, the Fed is printing a lot of money to help the US economy to avoid an economic crisis. They gave each US citizen $ 2000 per month. Therefore, I think many people will invest that money in the cryptocurrency market, this made  the price of BTC to pump in the future.

How do you know all that will happen? What if people invested in stocks instead of Bitcoin? You can never be sure because cryptocurrency is volatile compared to the traditional stocks that is more popular. Also, Bitcoin is not the only option that people could use to buy online, credit cards and internet wallets are available depending on the country so getting the people to use cryptocurrency even in this times is slim because there's a better and more convenient way.

This is just the reality because cryptocurrency is still not that developed but I do believe that cryptocurrency will be used in most shops online in the future.

Although Halving has come close, it seems that there is no optimistic signal that BTC will rise. Currently Corona Virus is making it difficult for the leading economies in the world. And is that the main cause of Bitcoin price drops? Let me give you some possibilities
1. Unemployed people do not have income so they do not dare to invest in Cryptocurrency.
2. The psychology of fear that if we die by Virus and die, investing in Cryptocurrency will not bring anything when we die
3. In a difficult economy, investors need to withdraw assets and sell cash to maintain businesses such as payroll, purchase and sale of goods instead of investing in cryptocurrencies.
4. The disease has not yet been controlled, the economy has not shown signs of recovery, so investors are afraid of not participating in the Cryptocurrency market.

If you've been up to date in the crypto news, the main reason why Bitcoin price dropped was because of the plustoken scam. They dump Bitcoin so hard that it created fear which analyst speculates it was because of stock market and Coronavirus but the truth is it was the scam that cause the main drop, coronavirus only played a part.
806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin Mining Cost is Higher Than Bitcoin Revenue. on: April 24, 2020, 02:15:01 PM
I think the revenue is also base on the cost of the electricity in a given country, how you operate your miners, and what is the factors for the condition to mine. There's just few information given in your post because if those really are true points, then there will be no miners mining Bitcoin right now. They'd probably changed to other altcoins if that was the case.
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are research on altcoins for long term investment worth it?? on: April 23, 2020, 01:20:43 AM
You are too naive if you think researching is a waste of time for you. It will lead to your downfall soon as you will realized that you've fallen into someone's hand that which you can prevented if you only had researched. If you didn't search the projects background and history, how can you be sure that you can trust them with your money? what if you invested long enough and scammed when you didn't exit fast enough? research is the answer.

The only time you stop researching is when you are trying to invest in a top altcoin and other people does it to you.
808  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines Leads the World in Terms of Cryptocurrency Ownership on: April 23, 2020, 12:44:36 AM

809  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Mga may pera sa stocks, kamusta? on: April 22, 2020, 03:19:10 AM
So far so good kasi naging in-demand lalo ang internet lalo't lockdown ngayon.

810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is DeFi really revolutionary? One attack after another. on: April 20, 2020, 10:50:24 PM
I think it's the fault of the one who is handling it. DeFi has potential to grow big but the team just neglects the possible risk during its early stage. They didn't fix the problem in the first attack and now they suffered huge lost this attack. $25,000,000 is not a joke to its team and its users. I wonder how they will come back from this?

Idea might be good but that doesn't decides how a project prosper, it is its team.
811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Legality of bitcoin] Can a country really control the use of bitcoin? on: April 20, 2020, 10:41:25 PM
Maybe goverments that count Bitcoin as an illegal currency should ban the access to "bitcointalk.org" too  Grin

I don't know much about it but even if they do ban Bitcointalk.org, people will still be able to access it through the use of VPN.

Although banning of Bitcoin will be an inconvenience, people will still be able to use using but the downside is there's just no way that the bank or any registered remittance businesses will accept your earned Bitcoin from the exchanges. Well, it's not like there's no way though. There's a lot of services here in the forum and in the internet that does help you.
812  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: The elephant in the room on: April 20, 2020, 09:46:11 PM

And I know that you know that I still have many accounts right there who's yet to be discovered and you're right. I still have hundreds of accounts who are yet to be discovered. Some of them are currently in signature campaign. Go check them all busters if you can.

814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitcoinGold is halving today on: April 20, 2020, 03:41:37 AM
What a bad day to do a halving. We are having a pandemic with the stock market crashes and the economy in a not good shape. I've checked the price and as always, an altcoin just follows the price of Bitcoin even if there's a "Bitcoin" in its name like Bitcoin Gold. Much like the other altcoin halving, there's just no significant changes to them.

With what's happening right now, I don't really expect some changes even if Bitcoin were to halve.
815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just think privacy is more important with financials. on: April 20, 2020, 03:30:44 AM
People chose to let the government know their privacy because there's literally a lot ways to avoid getting identity stolen by them. Stupid people who post their Bitcoin address and transaction ID on social media are crazy who wants to get themselves in danger. Privacy is very important.

There is a problem though.

Anonymous coins like monero are being delisted from the exchanges while the governments have no problems with coins like bitcoin. It is like they are trying to force you to use semi-amonymous coins.

If exchanges don't adopt monero or othr anonymous coins, people won't even notice their  existence.

That's where decentralized exchanges comes in. But the thing here is that, people prefer convenience at the cost of privacy. In an age where time and convenience is very important, centralized exchanges are ruling.
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Up or Down, People Hodl on: April 19, 2020, 02:14:25 AM
Doesn't it actually mean the opposite? If there are more deposits than withdrawals, it means more people are putting their BTC on an exchange than those who are withdrawing into their personal wallets. I see it this way, maybe my perspective is wrong.

You actually make sense than the OP stated. Because from the looks of it, people are depositing Bitcoin to trade it rather than Hold it or most likely that people hold their Bitcoin in exchanges which is pretty stupid. It doesn't say much if whether people dump Bitcoin to USD or other altcoins though.
817  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: ETHRUN ISKAM o LEHITIMO on: April 19, 2020, 02:10:02 AM
818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google has removed 49 cryptocurrency wallet browser extensions! Good move? on: April 19, 2020, 01:43:10 AM
Google has removed 49 cryptocurrency wallet browser extensions after a security researcher discovered they were stealing private keys. These Chrome extensions targeted users of crypto wallets, such as Ledger, Trezor.

What do you think of this move?

It's a pretty good move to be honest. It really shows a sign that google cares about cryptocurrency and its users even though they themselves tried to ban it. I just hope they just don't go haywire again and try to ban this time legit extension wallets like Meta Mask.
819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinmarketcap or Coingecko? on: April 17, 2020, 02:47:33 AM
I don't really care much about the coins getting displayed but I use both of them. Though they both aren't accurate, they still have their own uniqueness. For example, I use coinmarketcap and coingecko to browse to top 100 coins and they are pretty much almost the same although I use coingecko when I want to browse and new and calculate it's value depending on my currency. That's one feature that coingecko have that coinmarketcap doesn't.
820  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: The elephant in the room on: April 17, 2020, 02:39:46 AM
I don't know man.
