Happened at least once, when someone make bots that neg-repped everyone, so bots got banned and bad reputation removed

Yeah , negative trust gets removed only when it is spam.
If anybody with huge trust negs you today saying "Because he stole my cheezburger" , there is nothing you can do nor the admins/mods will do.
As long as you don't put dozens of repetitive negs , you can still give people negs for no good reason.
802  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Question on: July 05, 2014, 06:19:33 AM
Just a side note, once upon a time (before Nov 2011), signature images are allowed. Cheesy
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=51077.0

Wow, I forgot how bad the user response was after that. Now hardly anyone even remembers it...

There are also security problems: Images can be used to execute cookie stuffing and cross-site request forgery attacks; they use a lot of bandwidth; and they prevent bitcointalk.org's HTTPS from appearing totally "kosher" to browsers. These issues could be solved by hosting all images at bitcointalk.org, but this isn't worth the trouble.

I guess I decided that it was worth the trouble after all. Wink

Wouldn't it be possible to use the forum image proxy like we do for posted images , for signatures and avatars ?
I guess there would be more images posted than avatars or signatures, so it wouldn't put too much additional strain on the servers.

This should really be a self-moderated thread.
All these butthurt people are coming here and raging , stopping any constructive discussion.

Move this topic to Marketplace (Altcoins).
807  Economy / Securities / Re: Personal Farm Seeking Investors on: July 04, 2014, 02:36:52 PM

Do you honestly think I have spent the entire time I have been on this account to come in here now and scam for what equates to about 65$?

Consider non-intentional losses too.
Nobody knows how competent you are , nobody knows whether you can run a rig , whether you know which coins are best.
There are many other sites offering scrypt mining , including those that allow you to choose how to manage things , those that are well reputed and those with huge trust.

That is why I did the 5% shares. To me 20$ is something worth losing, I lost and made many times that with egold and the like. Crypto is however very very different. I did the small chunks of investment so that someone could toss in what they would have spent on cigarettes or coffee @ sbux and when they see that I am not running, all is then well.

This won't really work. Just because it won't cost someone too much , this won't make them join.
You need solid proof that you will succeed.

Not sure what your angle is, but it seems to me that you popped in here just to throw a wrench in my offer and do your best to keep people away.

I'm just stating the obvious.
If your investment request was better planned , you would have covered all the questions I have asked, never leaving a potential investor to doubt you.

808  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering <Fair | Quick | Low Interest> Loans! Up to 1 BTC! [No-Collateral] on: July 04, 2014, 02:24:50 PM
I'm looking for a long-term loan.

Amount:0.03
Days: 50 (August 21st )
Reason: I am on a vacation and will be back in 45 days. I have over 1.2 BTC on my secure wallet , but I need small change on my online wallet.
Security: I have 1.2 BTC in (17kzPBwE8cRGUkgimViRGfYwGNHahQ3FFZ). I earn between 0.3 and 0.6 BTC from signature campaigns each month , but the funds go to my secure wallet.
It would not be beneficial for me to scam as having negative trust would stop me from participating in any signature campaign too and I earn a lot from them.
Interest rate: 20% (0.036 return)
Address: 1FRkoJDy8CwZ84RSeMs2tCEKBdVfHu32Ra

I will most likely be able to pay by 16th of August , but I've left a few more days as precaution.

I understand if you are unable to accept this offer as it has a longer time to pay back.

809  Economy / Securities / Re: Personal Farm Seeking Investors on: July 03, 2014, 05:56:46 PM
Thinking from your perspective ,you shouldn't really do anything more.
You have sufficient funds to maintain ownership, you don't really need any investors.
Investors seems like a good idea to expand without more personal investment.

On the other hand , consider it from the investors' perspective.

You could just be showing people your rig on this forums in an attempt to grab 0.1 BTC and run.
You have proof that you really own the mine and can provide it , but you have no proof that you will really pay.

You may get a couple of naive investors , but this program does not look too good to any investor , nor does there seem to be any easy method to make it look like a good buy.

It seems like a good idea to keep this open though. You don't lose anything , and if you are lucky you might be able to expand further.
Just don't invest too much time into searching for an investor , as it may not pay off.

Anyways , best of luck with your endeavor,
Jambola2

You have no proof of anything.
We are not even sure you have a farm.

Secondly , even if you do , what assurance is there that you will pay us back ?
You have no reputation.

You would be better off giving collateral and asking for a loan which you could pay using these returns.

Understood. What type of proof would satisfy? I am going to take pictures of my setup once I finish organizing it. I could also provide screenshots of my orders from gaw.

I forgot to mention this earlier , but this is not a Service in any form.
This should go in Securities
You will need to expand a lot more , and make it in a more manageable format.
There you can include proof such as your setup and your receipt.

This will still not give any assurance that you will actually pay people on time. Again , I do not feel that many people would be inclined to trust you with no priors. Hence, it would be best if you took out a personal loan , and maintained 100% of the ownership.

812  Economy / Services / Re: BTC Fund for trading in Exchange on: July 03, 2014, 02:57:57 PM
I don't think this falls under services.

If this is an investment , it falls under Securities.
However , you will need to formulate a proper proposal instead of just saying that you will earn money.

Start a new thread in Securities subforum , with a detailed explanation of how you are going to use the money and include proof that you can be trusted.
If you need startup funds for trading , you would be better off looking in the Lending subforum. You would need to be sure that you can provide returns and you would also need collateral.

In no scenario will this thread help you or get you any "investors" , so I'd suggest you lock it before you get negative trust.
813  Economy / Economics / Re: Please stop with mBTC, microBTC, ...! on: July 03, 2014, 02:46:37 PM
This is the 99th thread trying to stop this.

You cannot change what the public uses based upon your own opinion.
If "bits" is a better system , the public will start to use it.

Currently , mBTC (milli-bitcoin) is the most usable , as it is around a dollar and makes sense for general speak.
Satoshis are used often too , not because it is "official" , but because it makes even diminutive amounts seem huge , hence satoshis are the best unit for faucets and sites giving out rewards.

uBTC and bits are not too popular currently , but may become more popular once they reach parity with the current USD. ( ie : When 1 uBTC has the same buying power as 1 $ has today )
814  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining eats whole BTC value. on: July 03, 2014, 12:59:33 PM
I think Bitcoin is a deflationary currency. So, like gold, silver or even land, there is a finite amount of bitcoins and so the value tends to increase over time.

This is why it is still profitable for miners.

That is a very bad example
People would buy BTC instead of mining in the scenario you speak of.

EG :-

Current BTC price = 100$
I buy a machine to mine Bitcoin which costs 10,000$.
It mines only 50 Bitcoins , but the Bitcoin price triples to 300$
I sell my Bitcoins and have a 5,000$ profit.

Instead , if I had just bought Bitcoins with my 10,000$ , I would have 100 Bitcoins and would get a 20,000$ profit.

It is profitable to mine only if you will mine more Bitcoins than the price of the device in Bitcoins initially and the total price of all maintenance and electricity in Bitcoins at the time of usage.

I thought betvip was decent.
They lost all 6 tips for day 19 , the first time I followed their tips.
Seems like their tips are bad just so that their site gains more funds from people following their tips -.-
817  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for site that orders things for you online when you send them Bitcoin on: July 03, 2014, 08:01:33 AM
I guess you could check out SnapCard too.

Yes , snapCard is what you want.

It allows you to pay for anything that requires credit card or paypal payment with Bitcoin instead.

and im sure 95 % of senior member or higher is finish their school long time ago.....
but still its generous offer
you dont ask for pay isnt it ?  Grin

Not necessarily.
Bitcoin has no age restriction like on Paypal , so a lot of people I know using Bitcoin are pretty young.

But I don't really see a lot of teenagers spending money on getting help with their homework.
819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: leancuisine's Sports Picks (486 wins - 209 losses - 51 draws) on: July 03, 2014, 07:55:02 AM
Any good picks planned for the quarterfinals of the FIFA world cup ?
I followed betvip's tips and lost on all 6 of their picks on one day.
Makes sense , since they profit when we lose to their site -.-
820  Other / Meta / Re: Selling pirated / illegal software licenses. on: July 02, 2014, 12:27:03 PM
MSDN accounts are for developers to test their products on Microsoft platforms. The keys should not be sold and used in an operational environment, not even for web surfing and checking email (specified in the agreement). There is no way what Floord is doing is legal, and keys provided by him could be invalidated by Microsoft anytime.

I've done some searching :-
Quote
If an MSDN subscription is transferred or sold, any perpetual use rights are transferred to the new party and the seller can no longer use the software.

You are allowed to transfer or sell your MSDN account under the condition that you no longer use your account.
There is a fair chance that the keys provided by Floord are pirated , but this is not enough to ban him or make him shut his shop down.
