821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Libra still pose a threat to Bitcoin? on: April 17, 2020, 02:13:11 AM
I just don't get it. It was clear that Bitcoin and Libra have different use and purpose and this people just keeps comparing Bitcoin and Libra. Also, why is his arguments about banks? are they going to use Libra for banking and leverage purposes? If that's what they want, I'd still rather stick with Bitcoin than that another centralized shitcoin who thinks his better than the king.
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 26 days to the halving left, what are you expecting? on: April 16, 2020, 02:44:30 AM
Why are you so concerned about the short-term price action OP?

Will it pump, will it dump? Does it really matter? If it dumps it's only going to be temporary.

If you want to make a quick buck you can try shorting the stock market. If the recession really hits it's going to fall even lower and these things always come like an aftershock of a big event. The economic shutdown was the event, now we're waiting for the shockwave to hit, starting from the poorest countries affected.

I don't think he is really concerned base on the topic he opened but do not be surprised that a lot of people are expecting are expecting a short-term pump since there's a lot of speculators here in the cryptocurrency space. To be honest, I don't really think a major pump would happen anytime soon. There's still a crisis happening right now and investors are still at stand-by by the time halving happens. Maybe we would see the affect after 5-10 months just like the 2016 halving.
823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can go to proof of stake after they see how ethereum goes on: April 16, 2020, 02:10:39 AM
More like people would start forking Bitcoin into POS and calling it Bitcoin stakes or something like that (I might have given someone an idea). Bitcoin will always be Bitcoin, there will no changes to it whatsoever because it would change the technical aspects of it. I don't have a deeper knowledge of Bitcoin but it would change the way Bitcoin is used and in a bad way.

That news is just another fiasco made to advertise.
824  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Need suggestions on: April 14, 2020, 03:05:09 AM
Hey there! I'm a student and had saved some money around five digits in pesos.

First of all, anong plano mong gustong gawin dyan sa pera mo? Kaya mo bang I-hold long-term or pang short-term ka lang? Because I'd personally tell you to invest in Bitcoin kung kaya mong siyang I-hold ng matagalan.

825  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Well Organized Scam Projects on: April 13, 2020, 01:05:45 PM
How can we safe ourselves from well organized scam projects? Some projects are so well crafted and in the end they scam people, to my own understand research doesn't help here at all, use case, whitepaper, team, every thing are so real and make sense, please give advice about this

Even if you do your extensive research on a certain project, you still won't be certain that they will or not scam others. In my opinion, the best way to avoid scam is to invest in a project that has a long-term planned working product. I've seen a lot of projects that is basing on community popularity, gaining thousands of followers and getting into an exchange but doesn't have any proper product, they end up scamming anyway.
826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robert Kiyosaki believes in Bitcoin on: April 13, 2020, 12:54:25 PM
Not only that, there are many people and businessmen who believe in Bitcoin. In my opinion, Tesla's CEO Elon Musk believes in Bitcoin and crypto money, but does not express it clearly. Even the most recent Bill Gates said he had changed his mind.
Unfortunately, we cannot reach a place with only these views. For us, larger-scale developments that will affect daily life

Hah! Bill Gates? You'll never hear him say "get Bitcoin". It's against his view of the world - we all know how much he wants to get control and power over literally anything possible.

I guess most businessmen don't agree with the idea of BTC being a real store of value because they're globalists and they want power, centralization etc.. I'd be pretty surprised if they change their public view over cryptocurrencies.
Bill Gate been talking about bitcoin on every news channel in 2014 2015 2016

He does talk about Bitcoin but in a negative way.

Ever since I've read Robert's book "Rich dad, Poor dad", it really changed my perspective on money. He probably see Bitcoin too as an asset rather than a liability just like he taught us in his book. Though he did got bankrupt in the past, he did got up again and it's good to see that he is influencing people to go for Bitcoin.
827  Economy / Speculation / Re: My first experience of Bitcoin halving, I'm excited. on: April 12, 2020, 12:23:19 AM
Don't be too hopeful about the price of Bitcoin. If you were to compare the price of Bitcoin in the last couple of years, It is kind of absurd to think that we would reach $380,000 - $400,000 in just this halving, especially that we are in a crisis. You didn't mention why the price in the halving flew in the first place. The reason for the 2017 moon was because of the ICO and Bitconnect blew to the whole world, not to mention the early hard fork that people talked about a lot. Investors left and right coming even though they didn't know that cryptocurrency is full of scammers which the investors isn't realizing yet until the first month of 2018. You agree or disagree, that's the main reason that I know why we reached $20,000. There's just too much hype and good news in 2017.

Now, where's our hype? only corona virus and stock market crash. No new investors coming in and the adoption rate aren't spiking but steadily growing. $380,000 - $400,000 ain't gonna happen anytime soon. Perhaps $10,000 - $20,000.
828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will stablecoins be the future of cryptocurrency? on: April 12, 2020, 12:10:24 AM
I don't think stablecoin will be the future of cryptocurrency because what does it offer except from the fact that you can use it to exchange fiat to crypto? I don't think it has any useful feature besides from that, also they are backed by real world fiat which is pretty different from Bitcoin that is backed by the law of supply and demand.

Though I believe that stablecoin would be the sidekick of cryptocurrency forever. It helps us exchange crypto to fiat and vise versa so easily that it will be pretty hard to just remove it. It is used by almost all exchanges now and it is by far one of the best crypto created out there. Not only that, there's also different kinds of stablecoin aside from USDT, there's also GOLD.

This way, nakita niya na Bitcoin ay isang magandang way para maka-receive or mag-send ng pera.

830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The sincere bounty managers should escrow bounty rewards on: April 10, 2020, 11:47:45 PM
Nope, not all project devs will want to do that, honestly I can't blame them if they fail to trust a bounty manager because some bounty managers can get greedy later and send tokens to few bounty participants

What are you saying? Of course there will be a calculations for that and the bounty allocation and bounty rewards will be calculated. The bounty manager won't be able to get away with it. At least it is safe to think that our tokens are safe and can be redeemed if a bounty is finish.

I think this is a one step closer to cleaning out scams by having an escrow. Because if they are really genuine and trustworthy, they will make their loyal bounty hunters trust them. Escrow is cheap anyway and probably a legit project would be able to afford it if they really want to.
831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinall exit scam on: April 10, 2020, 02:14:02 PM
i hope that you are not right about this , i participated some time ago in the TEM signature bounty , and after that i choose to double the reward by locking them , so this year they should send around 1200$ worth of TEM to the coinall exchange

That's really a lot of money that is at stake here. If by chance that this exchange is exit scamming, then there's a possibility that another dump would happen just like what happened last month. But I doubt it would happen soon. Let's anticipate this thread for now and we might learn something that would help us decide in the upcoming months. Who knows, this might be the next plustoken scam dump.
832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is breaking the law and will be sued by Craig Wright on: April 10, 2020, 03:28:38 AM
I am shaking my head. This person is one of the most annoying people that I have seen in the cryptospace. Is he paid to do this? Who is paying him?

He is being paid by his cult members, newbies who fail to realize that his scam coin is a pump and dump, and investors who just go with the flow. To be honest, he is getting close to a pron star now. Selling himself to boost his scam coin and get easy bucks by releasing ridiculous statements that the media would bite. Same old pattern. Everyone's getting tired at this point.
833  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Accept o Decline ang bitcoin? on: April 09, 2020, 10:50:43 AM
834  Economy / Speculation / Re: Comeback for the bitcoin on: April 09, 2020, 02:39:26 AM
As this kind of changes would you rather still invest or buy a lot of bitcoin or sell?.

It's depends on the circumstances to be honest. One of the reason why I bought Bitcoin at around $5,000 was because last crash was brought by a sudden selling of Bitcoin of the scam "Plustoken". This cause a disturbance in the market and made the buyers panic sell because they don't know what is going on, they thought it was stock market or coronavirus who is making Bitcoin crash. Since it's just a scam, people would soon realized that they panicked sold for nothing and now the price is recovering as it is now.  In other circumstances like a down trend, I'd analyze the market carefully because it will be hard to predict what will come of Bitcoin during this times, I think the hardest part would be when will Bitcoin recover during a bear market.

-snip

Never feed the troll.
835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think CREDITS (CS) is a very well organized SCAM? on: April 07, 2020, 09:52:16 PM
Well, this is the end.
Credits blockchain platform officially dead. So you were right. CS was a scam.  Angry

Dude, it took them 3 years to hype their coin and still hasn't lunch their mainnet. They are also faking their partnership and investors still hasn't decided that it is a scam? investors really need to step up their game. It took me 20 mins of googling and looking at their website to find their crap.

A friend of mine who invested wanted sell his house and move to a smaller one. How did it turned out 2 years after?  Y'all know the answer.

That's pretty messed up. It's almost like the second Bitconnect.

To be honest, I'd merit this guy for being smart and researching, finding their crap before anyone else does. He hasn't online since so it's probably a waste. Kudos to OP though.
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee 2020 Prediction on: April 07, 2020, 05:39:02 AM
McAfee is a liar and a typical person who speaks recklessly. And he seems just stated it to attract people. We can't trust a person like him, personally I am lazy to read his statements. How can someone who used to be like a fanatic bitcoin enthusiast, become a Bitcoin hater this year. I really hate a typical person like this.

They are the man who has not to mark their own words, about reading a lot of articles about his statement he is now supporting the use of altcoins rather the bitcoin, I don't know if this is kind of manipulation on the market because he knows there are a lot of people supporting his statement whenever he said also it is easy to predict the market price of the if many people will start to support this to make a lot of popularity and earnings for the coming months.

He's always been a supporter of altcoin, a hype man I should say. To be honest, he is getting more and more like the Fakesatoshi craigfake. Supporting altcoins more than Bitcoin now and spouting nonsense to stay relevant to the public. I still remember how he hypes altcoin during the 2017-2018 days. I'd say away from him as much as possible.
837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Correlation with Stocks is Dropping on: April 07, 2020, 03:24:36 AM
Bitcoin is now sitting at above $7,000 while stocks are still down. Bitcoin really does took a damage from inial fear during the month of march. Now Bitcoin is steadily going up again despite coronavirus and stocks still on the loose. Maybe it's time to separate stocks and cryptocurrency correlation?
838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Traders need to learn on: April 06, 2020, 03:23:22 AM
Honestly it is more likely that traders need to learn more about companies/coins they are investing in.
Your attitude and confidence matters for your mental health, not for results and profit

I believe that attitude and trust are very important, both for our mental state and for the results on the crypto market. A confident attitude helps you make the best decisions on the crypto market, but if you are afraid, you will panic and make bad decisions, which will cost you the investment.

Confidence and attitude only comes second to knowledge. If you don't know anything about the project that you are investing in, how can you be so confident? unless you are a blind who will invest into something that you didn't know in the first place because that's not how you trade. For example Bitcoin. a lot of people don't know Bitcoin's past and history so newbies tend to panic and sell while veterans buy more and hold.
839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Birthday Satoshi, April 5, 1975 on: April 06, 2020, 03:16:52 AM
I don't think this date is just symbolic because of Executive Order 6102 and its abolishment. It seems like overthinking to me, so it might just be the day Satoshi was born. This person might have left this true date back in the times when Satoshi wasn't that popular, so there was no point at fully hiding one's identity up to the small details. So Satoshi, whoever you are, I want to thank you for your creation that's been truly revolutionary and literally changed the lives of dozens of millions of people who now use it. I hope you're alive and well, possibly even reading this stuff from time to time while staying aside and doing something else with your life.

That's a possibility. Perhaps it symbolizes something else that is more important that his Birthday? Maybe it was the date where he found something relevant to Bitcoin? who knows at this point. All this time, everything he does in the whitepaper has a meaning so I'm guessing that date has a pretty important meaning to it too. I doubt that date would be his birthday.
840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: List of cryptocurrency exchange hacks on: April 05, 2020, 03:29:51 AM
Of all the exchanges that I've seen so far, Poloniex is probably the safest to bet base on that history. 97 BTC 6 years ago was probably nothing compared to other hot exchanges right now. It's probably second to LocalBitcoins. Though exchanges are not that safe, we still have few options to trade cryptocurrency right now and my tops are Poloniex and Kucoin for the security.
