821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Buys Bitcoin When The Price is 100k$? on: June 27, 2023, 11:32:16 AM
Will the price pass 100k$ next year 2024 for buys to make their gain?
Hold up a little bit. Let's not get too ahead with ourselves right now. Bitcoin has been doing wonderfully well and surpassing the expectations of a lot of people. No one can accurately predict what will happen or what will not happen with bitcoin's price. While you are speculating that bitcoin may go up to $100k and become stable, in some other quarters, they have said that bitcoin would go up to $1m.

And also, it is not as simplistic as you have explained it. Assuming with your logic bitcoin gets up to $100k and there is no way to sell it and get profit, has it occurred to you that at that time Bitcoin would have many real-life use cases and practical applications than we have today? Yea. There is that possibility too and it is becoming more and more evident by the day.
822  Economy / Economics / Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: June 27, 2023, 07:23:13 AM
I reluctantly followed the counsel of a financial advisor to fix my finances in order by creating a budget and tracking my expenses, inflow and outflow of cash using an excel sheet. The economy has been crazy in my country so I needed to do something urgently. My greatest realization after this is that inflation all round is destroying my budget. It's been  five months now. I am torn between using my emergency funds or selling some of my assets to cushion the effect of this economic situation. What do you suggest I do?
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: June 27, 2023, 05:56:12 AM
Here we can see that there are different perspective people hold about gambling. We can also tell that a strict up bringing doesn't mean that the kids won't go up to their own vices. There are strong environmental and other cultural factors that affect the behavioral lifestlye and pattern of children.

My piece on this matter is that the boy won a lot of money and should not worry much about what his father's say. If the boy is wise he should prolly invest some of the money in his father's name. It could act as part of his father retirement fund that is if the father has one at all. I know the father won't reject it when the real need for the money arises to sort something out. Money is very power.

825  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Free electricity, just the equipment left. on: June 26, 2023, 10:26:28 PM
I know you are not going to like what I am about ti say, but it's the truth, you live in a federal school environment, and you believe that no one is paying for the electricity that you believe to be free?

If you go out and buy an Asic miner because of this, remember that this move can lead to you evacuating from the premises, because you are doing nothing but stealing the electricity, there is no such thing as free electricity, someone, somewhere is paying the bills.

Once you begin this plan, there will come a time where they will notice, because the electricity bill will be higher, you don't know how much they are paying I believe, since you think the electricity is free, that's what will make you lose guard.

This is the right thinking. Morality should be put first. Using the electricity for mining without any explicit permission from the authorities is wrong and not acceptable. No mining community would encourage you. If you really wanted to go into mining, you look getting other alternative source of energy. Put yourself in the shoes of the facility management and do right thing.
826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 26, 2023, 08:26:59 PM
I saw this online and thought maybe i should bring on to bitcointalk for discussion.

If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?
Remorse is a common part of gambling. For those who haven't strayed too far into compulsive or problem gambling, at least. As a frequent gambler, you experience regret when you lose, when you gamble with money you cannot afford to lose, when you spend too much time at an online casino and your entire day seems to go to waste because you were idle, and when you miss out on something because of gambling. This could be something as trivial as forgetting your wedding anniversary, taking your parent to the doctor, skipping your child's game or performance in school, etc.  I've had regret over gambling twice. 2016 and 2018 follow. I made the decision to reduce it after it nearly destroyed my life.
827  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 100K FOR 2024 ! on: June 26, 2023, 07:31:28 PM
Immediately it is a new ATH I am taking profits straight up
I am a big believer in taking profits and know that bitcoin price has been predicted to keep rising however because I have some pressing needs at hand, I already have in mind my price exit point. I invested in bitcoin to make money. I know i am not going to make money over night and I know I will not stick around and wait until bitcoin hits a $100k before I take profits. At every point in time when the price of bitcoin hits the number I have in mind, I take profit and settle an urgent need or use it to go live out my best life. I only got one life to live men and I gotta make the best use of it with my profit taken from bitcoin.
828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you, or would you ever use a Bitcoin ATM? on: June 26, 2023, 06:38:09 PM
Bitcoin ATMs are a lot of fun to use. These days, I seldom ever see them maybe because of a change in location. El Salvador, perhaps, but in some of the cities I've been to, I have yet to come across one that is actually in use. I feel that buying through a DEX or CEX is more convenient than using a Bitcoin ATM. I used cash to test out a Bitcoin ATM in California a few years ago. I began by choosing a price $20 for the Bitcoin I wanted to buy and entering a phone number for identification. To complete the verification process, an SMS code was issued, which was then input. A brand-new Bitcoin wallet was made with a private and public key, with the transaction using the public key. The $20 worth of Bitcoin was bought after scanning the Bitcoin address's QR code, and a receipt was printed. Later, I moved the bitcoin to a wallet with higher security.
829  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Teacher and Classmates Labeling Bitcoin as a Ponzi Scheme or a Scam on: June 26, 2023, 06:10:08 PM
Your nephew owes nobody any explanation. If he doesn't know what to say, tell him to tell them that Bitcoin is not a scam or a ponzi scheme. A Ponzi scheme is when a person or group offers an investment that promises extremely high returns with minimal risk. What happens is that earlier investors receive money from later investors, and the system continues in this way with a constant cash flow and a constant influx of new investors to pay off the old ones. There is no other way for the system to make money other than by luring in new investors, and systems of this nature invariably collapse.

831  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we headed to a nowhere economic direction ? on: June 25, 2023, 09:07:32 AM

Personally I have invested in cryptocurrencies but due to the current market, there is no sign that I will profit any time soon, so I guess the result of the investment remains unknown. Although I still have steady income from my job, uncertainties will not diminish as I hope for a stable feed for my family and for savings as much as possible. What is your situation in your country ? Are you going to experience some economic turmoil as well ? Please let me know.

There is no perfect economy. Every country has a version of their economic turmoil largely due to their policies and economic systems. For my country it aside from a couple of months ago when we experienced a s slight increase inflation rate, everything is almost back to normal now but we get one or two times when it is shaken aside that we are okay. From the forecast we expect to see a reduction in unemployment and some other things that would reduce the burden of taxes that small businesses have to pay.
832  Economy / Economics / Re: Success in finance and investment is a journey of finding your true self on: June 25, 2023, 08:31:19 AM
All of my friends who have invested in bitcoin can attest to the fact that it is an exploration of one's self. Many of these gentlemen from many disciplines have come to understand who they are by their commitment to their relationship with money, their level of risk tolerance, and their capacity to maintain discipline in the face of uncertainty. In the face of the market and their personal life, they have evolved into a sort of stoic mentality. And those who backed off during the bull run did so for the same reasons—self-discovery. They assessed their possibilities of success in this high-risk environment and decided it wasn't for them, so they stayed with real estate investments, which are generally low risk.
833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying cheap is best formula on: June 25, 2023, 07:42:22 AM
If I have money now, I would buy half of bitcoin because in next three months it will double the current price. This is real because it always occur this way after 5 years remember in 2011 and 2017 from the market charts and caps. And this year will break more even.
Buying cheap is the best formula. But what is cheap? I would say that buying right is the best formula. Your formula may work for you, but I do not think it is universally applicable. As it comes with a lot of anxiety. Besides, your idea of bitcoin's price is just a speculative as it is with every other person. Do not mount so much pressure on yourself because of FOMO. I don't know how long you have been in the market but if you have been here long enough you would have heard about Dollar Cost Average strategy which is actually the best out there. You should read up on it.

835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: June 24, 2023, 09:50:28 PM
Will you try a trick to win on casino game machines if you were told and it is a 100% working trick to cash out? Will you bet on fixed games if you get the tip early?
Everybody who has ever lost a game at a casino will gladly get back or revenge on the casino if they ever have the one trick or cheat code to beat them at their game. Which is why we have compulsive gamblers because they feel that every time they go back there, that they can got the magic to beat the casino and they do not mind cheating. I don't even think any compulsive gambler would consider morality. I will bet on fixed games if I have an early tip just to confirm that it works and to have a story to tell...hahaha Grin
836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 24, 2023, 09:34:59 PM
You say no one? Well I think Real Madrid are still desperate yo have Kylian Mbappe on their team list next season and so they are capable of paying such huge amount to secure his signature. I think all they are waiting for is a go-ahead and they will go any length to get him this summer. This is a big problem for PSG that they need to resolve before the new season begins so that they can begin the season without distractions.
Mbappé needs Real Madrid more, but I'm not sure if he will do more harm than good to the team because currently their best player, without a doubt, is Vinicius in terms of both present and future. If Mbappé were to arrive, he would come with a superstar mentality. He himself has stated that he doesn't like playing as a number 9 and prefers to play in Vinicius' position. I feel that in order to please Mbappé, they will give him whatever he wants, potentially sacrificing Vinicius by moving him to a different position or making other changes.
837  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Luck is what you need in gambling but you have to get to work with trading on: June 24, 2023, 09:21:03 PM
Skill is also needed in gambling, but it depends on the type of game you are playing. Trading depends both on a combination of luck and skill. We cannot take away that no matter what. Maybe it would be in the ration of luck 20% and skill 80%. The reverse is the case for gambling. I do not think I have seen a book on gambling but there are so many for trading. The main difference is that you cannot get addicted to trading such that it ruins your life but in gambling one can easily get addicted it destroys their life.
838  Economy / Economics / Re: What roles does the poor play in the Economy? on: June 24, 2023, 08:51:56 PM
In what ways have the people living in poverty impacted in the economy?
Share your ideas on the importance of the poor masses in economy sustainability.
Somewhere in Asia, there are underpaid cheap labour workers working day and night around the clock assembling the latest iphone so you can have a comfortable life.
Somewhere in Africa there are underpaid, underaged cheap labour workers working day and night around the clock in mines looking for diamonds and other precious stones so that they can improve the economy of other countries.

These are poor people who if they had better options, they wouldn't allow themselves to be exploited by these companies for pennies. They have an important role they play in the economy. In Asia and Africa, the assembly and mining done by the poor improves their economy by making them one of the most industrialized nations in the world. It brings money into the economy. Want to know how they impact the economy? Read this article - https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/29/technology/apple-iphone-china-foxconn.html
839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Having no money to invest in Bitcoin is even better on: June 24, 2023, 08:30:11 PM
Do not walk away from Bitcoin investment because you don't have the money, it's even better not to have money because you will have the patience to learn more about everything, and when the money comes, you will be able to avoid many dramas.

I think that this is the hardest part - cultivating patience and discipline to keep studying about bitcoin when there is no money to invest. But there is a reward in this - the person would have been able to have a thorough understanding of bitcoin thorough studying. We should not forget that the true test comes when you actually invest, we cannot tell if the person would avoid dramas or not. That is the point where everything learned will be put into practice or tested.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 23, 2023, 11:51:21 PM
Anyway, if casinos have "optional KYC" (and most of them have that), we should be ready for KYC at some moment. If we are not ready for that KYC then we shouldn't even think about depositing there in the first place.

When it comes to engaging in casino activities seriously, I take the necessary steps to research and gather information about them. Upon registering, I ensure that I have prepared my KYC (Know Your Customer) documents in advance. This precautionary measure aims to prevent any potential frustrations during the withdrawal process caused by the casino's KYC requirements. Hence, I make it a priority to submit and verify my documents prior to making any deposits.

To avoid encountering complications, I steer clear of casinos that have been reviewed for raising KYC-related issues or displaying prolonged verification periods, which may be intentional tactics to withhold winnings. I am fully aware of such casinos and proactively choose not to engage with them.
