8201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top Privacy Coin of 2018? on: February 04, 2018, 01:40:00 PM
It must be DeepOnion , so what is the reason?
1)DeepOnion has a very powerful community , it’s very important . Because it can get lots of support and I have never see so strong community exclude BTC .
2)There is no ICO in DeepOnion . If you want to invent less money and get the largest benefit , it’s only the deepOnion ,join in us airdrop . There are 11 rounds left
3)The growth of deepOnion.

Not so sure about that. It was a big community that keeps getting bigger, sure. But powerful one cannot say. The development is very much centralized. Half the community is there for the airdrop, and the other half will never be able to explain to you what deeponion is all about. Bitcoin's community is still the strongest, but second place DO? How about Ethereum, How about Litecoin, in fact even Dogecoin has a bigger and more loyal community. Deeponion users still have a lot to learn about what it means to support their project.
8202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Litecoin on: February 04, 2018, 09:14:25 AM

This further confirms that the future of Litecoin will not be good.

I guess in your spare time you are also a stand-up comedian.
Launch February 26  Zero fees to load, 1% to spend, cheaper than current available visa cards (most charge 3% some even more).
https://www.bitsonline.com/litecoins-payment-processor/

also
Litepay will be released in February.
Litepal is another Litecoin to fiat merchant processor to be launced in Q2/3
    AliantPayment will add LTC support
    Litecoin and XMR partnership(pending)
    Litecoin added to Zebpay
3 Marketing Initiatives (Alwayshodl/IG/Grandparents explain crypto contest)
It's only the first week of February.

Thank you for pointing this out. I knew Charlie Lee should not have announced his sale of Litecoins, even though it was a respectable and transparent decision, people would see it as a betrayal (but to me, he is now free from the burden of price and just focused on technology). He is not to be blamed for the price crash, the whole crypto world is down and Litecoin is no exception.

He made a promise to develop until it became its previous ATH, but I hope he stays even longer. I cannot imagine a better dev for this type of coin. Pure currency, that is the type of alt I like. Cryptocurrency, remember?
8203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could LTC go to $1000.00 ? on: February 03, 2018, 10:07:12 PM
LTC will go into thousands, maybe this year itself. There have been multiple rumors of its getting
accepted as payment method on top websites so any of those news will cause a big rise in it. Also,
it tracks and outperforms bitcoin so bitcoin going up big should cause a big rally in litecoin too.

Well I would be the very first to be happy if that happens. I only have less than 10 coins, too shy to say exactly how much but I bought them at a very good price last year so even 1k is a huge, huge return for me. The rumors are probably going to be for sure since LTC dev Charlie Lee personally embarked on a big marketing move and his reputation will ensure Litecoin will make it big. Not sure if 2018 is the year for 1k, but a return to ATH is surely on the cards.
8204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XVG] Verge - Speculation & Discussion on: February 03, 2018, 05:38:21 PM
I wish I could be more patient with Verge. I bıught it early and dumped for quick dollars. It is good anon coin that has great backup from community. Safe bet to do here. Get as many as you can and hodl waiting.
Just hold on to it like what you're saying, this coin have a good potential, once all this bloodbath, FUDs over in crypto, i think this coin will have a say, we just need to buy more now and join the ride when it pumps.

I will try to forget that the first time I heard about Verge was thanks to McAfee. I am always a first user of Monero, even though coins like ZCash and Dash seem to have just flown past it. And now I have decided to add Verge to my portfolio, very hard to ignore the value at current dips. I still cannot decide from substantial reading if Verge is something for me to keep beyond this year, though. Maybe the type of people that seem to be promoting it are very different from Monero's community.

Maybe that is not important, maybe that difference is not impactful for short term. But yes, I have caved in to my own pressure and took a bit of Verge. Let us see if this coin's developers really are all they make themselves out to be.
8205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 3 Interesting AI ICO's to read up on on: February 03, 2018, 05:08:36 PM
I initially thought that AI ideas were very good, but then with so many of these projects coming up, the main questions to me are:

1> Which actually really have good AI? We as non technical persons cannot possibly identify which are actual AI and which are poor copies.
2> Which have actually computer experts developing them? AI is a very specific field, everyone thinks they can make it but to differentiate and make it effective, you have to have geniuses in the teams. How can we know?
3> Why are these projects not publishing their AI predictions? If it is so good, they do not even need promotion the results speak for themselves.
8206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Its over guys on: February 03, 2018, 01:59:50 PM
I do not in which world you live in to think that India's news will determine the end of days for crypto. Bitcoin is pushing back above $9k now, of course it will likely fall deeper again, but it is far from over, crypto is far from dead. You warned us two weeks ago, I hope to hear what you have to say 2 months and 2 years from now. I like the people who collect all these posts from 2010. I wonder where they are now and if they have changed their minds. Or do they live in bitter regret making new accounts like this hoping one day to prove that they were right for all these years.
8207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ripple ( XRP ) a good way to go right now? on: February 03, 2018, 01:13:46 PM
Anyone who got in at ripple yesterday at 70 cents is someone I am very very envious off. I was thinking to get some since I missed the damned wagon last time around but only took a small amount at $1. Was right to think it would go even lower but was not able to be quick enough to get in on the action. XRP is still a good way to go right now for sure, I do not see myself as a holder at all, but good value right now for a token the company will surely want to keep above a dollar, if not to push for two at some point.
8208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blood-Bath Over? on: February 02, 2018, 10:18:02 PM
Its not over yet by a long shot. The market is still suffering as of the moment. The marketcap is still down, we need to get at least $500-$600M to be safe. Its still a long road ahead of us, there's still room for growth in 2018. Not worried about this market crash because I believed that it will bounce back and will hit another $20K.

Its really hard lessons for everyone this January. If you are too weak then I'm sure you have sold all your bitcoins and crypto. But if you have that strong hand and you have control of your emotions and know that this is just temporary test, then I'm sure that 6 months from now we all be gonna happy to Hodl and withstand this turbulence.

It is not over because it is not a bloodbath,,, I have only been in crypto market for a year and this is the third time I have witnessed this. Yes, people will say it is the biggest drop, but small percentages are not terribly different from my perspective. Like you said, this is only temporary and there is every reason to believe the bounce will return. That is what has to happen in a normal market, and like you said also, this will be a lesson to be learned by impatience. People need to treat crypto with the respect it deserves.
8209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learning the Market on: February 02, 2018, 04:34:47 PM
Babypips is a great tool! But yes, for forex rather than for crypto.

I have a strong opinion that experienced traders do not really have an edge in crypto markets, other than that they no longer need to learn basic trading lingo (how to set orders, stop loss, things like that). I know some who use technical analysis to great effect, but also others that have found failure with it. The thing you must remember with TA is: it all works on data. And other than Bitcoin, most alts only have data going back a year maybe two or three. That is very little data to work with!
8210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So how will be the market in February? on: February 02, 2018, 02:03:50 PM
Everyone knows the current market situation. BTC and Eth has fallen badly and all alt coins are bleeding. Do you think its time to buy more? Will BTC fall further to $5000 as predicted by many experts? and when do you see market stabilizing again?

Experts? Careful who you call experts. I doubt there are very many actual trading experts when it comes to Bitcoin. Most of the mainstream media reports are looking at traders with only a few years of experience, when a real expert should have been around trading Bitcoin for at least 5 years (it was a new market after all).

Even Bloomberg stopped trying to predict already, they realized they just cannot apply all their expertise into crypto. Look at all of us posting here in our post history. Who has been right even 70% of the time?
8211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long way to go until bottom... on: February 02, 2018, 10:02:13 AM
... total market capitalization will drop to $250,000,000

So there is a long way to go yet!

I suspect that those who entered the market recently, within the last 3 months, I unlikely to ever see a return on their investment. I doubt the market will reach $600,000,000 to $800,000,000 again.

HODL is bad advice. This happens every January is nonsense.

You have been warned.

Well,,, at least you are not a newbie account so we can take some points from you. But I think the fear is already happening with those who entered during the highs of December and January, who will most likely sell off a lot in panic, which is part of the big reason the markets are dipping now. The holders already entered much earlier, and probably are just taking this opportunity to hold even more.

You do not have a good point on thinking they will never see a return on investment though. Think back on the years of holders who have nothing but returns. Also, fiat wise, things are not too bad. Your warnings were repeated throughout the years, just look back on the old threads.
8212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: this is why cryptocurrency price become red for now on: February 02, 2018, 08:25:11 AM
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-01/india-to-curb-cryptocurrency-use-while-embracing-blockchain
“The government does not consider cryptocurrencies legal tender or coin and will take all measures to eliminate use of these crypto-assets in financing illegitimate activities or as part of the payment system,” Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told

what will you do ? hold or sell ?

How do you know that it was the main reason tho? BTC is already on downtrend before that news spread. Besides that, It will be so absurd to sell now your BTC while you are in loss. You will never suffer a real loss unless you sold your BTC. BTC will regain again it's price within this year and will set new ATH. Price dump always happened during the first quarter of the year while ETH pump during this period. This happened yearly so this is just a normal occurrence on crypto, Price will be back to normal soon.

Exactly. Even when people put out big news supposedly from Japan or South Korea or China, it does not really affect the price, because the trends already happen based on the rumors. If the news further confirms rumors, then sure, the pressure continues but nothing makes the market crash or boom in terms of news. This is just normal for Bitcoin, and therefore normal for crypto.

Holders are looking at potential losses, like you said. And they are naive if they think markets keep going up without first going down.
8213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRAT IS A SLEEPING GIANT ! on: February 01, 2018, 07:42:48 PM
Well I am not so big a whale or even a minnow to afford the Gluon ICO presale, not that I will buy into it. But if anyone is looking at buying Stratis, right now is incredible bargain. Just took a few off as my first purchase for 2018. I know the market will probably drop even a little more but since I plan to hold anyway, just happy to have booked in some cheap Stratis. Not going to find anything near this price for many months once it all recovers.
8214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices dropped, should you buy? on: February 01, 2018, 01:32:03 PM
I think btc does not have much of a future. Buy altcoins you reckon promising. Join the best ICOs.

Yes, Bitcoin has almost ten years, so it has no more future. Millions of users, thousands of merchants, new developments on its way thanks to the very best developers in the industry. Every government is worried about Bitcoin, every media is talking about it.

But oh this is not a good future. Let us reckon good altcoins instead and join ICOs. Because those millions of Bitcoin users will realize the future is with alts and begin using them.

Yes, that is a brilliant idea. Do it.
8215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Historic BITCOIN recovery. will it be 5000% next? on: February 01, 2018, 12:27:57 PM
what everyone keeps talking about these days (which is during crash) is how big crashes used to be and how big it will get now,...
example: Historic BITCOIN crash

but something is neglected in my opinion and that is the recovery that always comes after these "crashes". so lets assume this is a crash and i don't care how low it may or may not go. lets talk about the recovery, whenever that might be:

here are some examples based on bitstamp prices:
2012 recovery, August: $2.25 to $16.41 => 629%
2013 recovery, April: $7.1 to $259.34 => 3552%
2013 recovery, December, also a fake pump: $45 to $1163 => 2484%
2016 recovery, June: from $152.4 to 778.85 => 411%
2017 recovery, December: from $465.28 to $19666 => 4126%

where will it go to in the future after the recovery? 5000%? to $400,000?

Good point to be raised. But important to note that not all the definitions of "crash" are accurate. What looks like a crash to some people is to me just a normal declining trend as I feel we have been in a start of a long term correction. But either way, my assessment, and yours,,, they share the same conclusions that the recovery will not only be strong, it will push above expected amounts, before again pulling back. Why? Because when the recovery happens, people FOMO once more and then the pressure self fulfils.
8216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ethereum reach the top? on: February 01, 2018, 08:27:51 AM
absolutely yes, ethereum is the no.2 altcoin in the market, so it is not hard to ethereum to reach the top because eth is almost there. after the big event last year (2017) for bitcoin, it is now suffering a very long run correction. after hitting the all time price hike of $20k it is now dropped and still remain down stocked at $11k and no further changes after the last. but ethereum growth is increadible, ethereum now has a potential to grow and reach what bitcoin has. and most perfectly proven after all ICO ends in MARCH-MAY. there will be an another explosion in ethereum price, i cant wait to see how ethereum touch the tail of bitcoin.

Currently number 2, but it will have to keep fighting off the other coins in top 5. Ripple for example will always be a threat. It is quite funny to see Eth and Ripple with their inflationary numbers slowly creeping up market cap charts, but both are not gaining as much usage by Bitcoin. Soon, we may see in a few years new Top 5 coins, but they will never reflect the true value in terms of use. ETH can touch Bitcoin's tail and even leap over BTC's head, but that will not mean much.

All ICOs end in March-May? Wrong. That was 2017.
8217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: RaiBlocks Rebrand to Nano? on: January 31, 2018, 08:17:24 PM
It is rising despite bitcoin's decrease though I am not interested in this coin, I would buy it when bitcoin crashes to 6-8K dollar.

Why woud you not be interested in a coin thats completely decentralised, instant and completely free with transactions costs?

Like everyone else says, this is what bitcoin should have been from the start.

https://vimeo.com/253563861

Had this coin been invented before bitcoin, no one would pay attention to bitcoin today.

Completely decentralized? Compared to Bitcoin? Look, I think Raiblocks has good tech (I think DAG is good tech) but it is silly to compare today when Bitcoin came out ten years ago, and paved the way for new generations of blockchain (or rather non-blockchain) tech like DAG to come out. Not saying Bitcoin is superior or anything, but this is like saying, if hybrid cars were invented before the wheel, no one would pay attention to the wheel today.
8218  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any good news coming out these days? on: January 31, 2018, 07:18:24 PM
I must admit Tether is the one that worries me - I don't understand much about it but just don't like what I hear.

And,,, Tether is not going to affect Bitcoin, it is going to affect Tether. If there is spill over effect, it will not just be from Bitcoin but any crypto that trades against USDT pair on the exchanges that support them.

No news is worrying me now. A lot of exciting developments for Lightning Network. Using on mainnet, beta testing going on with some people. Blockchain doing c-lightning. Soon mempool will never be 5 digits again!
8219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency for passive income? Dividends? on: January 31, 2018, 01:34:19 PM
As others point out, the only legitimate ones are:
1. Staking (securing the network and minting new coins from it)
2. Masternodes (similar to staking but providing masternode services usually security related that also require you to put up some amounts of coins)
3. Dividend bound tokens... I will add gambling coins like CSNO and MBI which pay out quarterly dividends to owners.

I personally also lease my Waves tokens for very small amounts of two types of tokens. Less than 0.1% annual gains but I'm a holder anyway.
8220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea Authority implements real-name trading system for crytocurrencies on: January 31, 2018, 08:47:58 AM
Short term yes, people will fear. But the very general population of speculators and traders already know they do not want to hide, they are comfortable with KYC and AML. It is just the scammers, small time crooks and what nots who will stay away. So let them. I have my identities open to sell my crypto, I wish I did not have to, but I have nothing to hide. It is a big inconvenience and a big invasion of my privacy, but I do not worry too much. So guys, please quickly make the move to decentralized exchanges.
