8221  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you pay taxes if you could live off bitcoins? on: July 06, 2012, 08:09:24 PM
I would pay capitol gains on appreciation, but only if I can claim losses.  I would not pay "income" tax on bitcoin however.
8222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 6.66 Mark of the Beast!! ZOMG!!! on: July 06, 2012, 07:55:02 PM
The "23 Enigma" is the answer here. Human brains just love to construct a pattern.

I feel for you bro. My A/C went out last night. The new one wont be in until Mon. so I'm getting a hotel room.  It's 103F right now.  Cry
8224  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about the 2012 doomsday, I mean really.. it is different. on: July 06, 2012, 07:44:05 PM
I've scoped up on the Mayans many times. I just cannot see this happening in 2012, I don't believe they're even in the bible. If they are correct me.

The Mayans are not in the Bible because the people who conceived of the bible (the Romans) had no idea they existed. Just like they had no idea they were on a planet in space.

The thing is the list of bad happenings for 2012 have nothing to do with 2012. There is no significance to the date. Im sure enough to offer a bet on the subject. Takers?

Say if I win it's 3BTC, if I loose 50 rounds of ammo?

What other proof do you need!? There's no such thing as coincidences!!!

I would need proof that the above statement is true. Smiley

1) photoshop
2) illustrator
3) acrobat
4) excel
5) word
6) powerpoint
7) firefox (although this has been getting more and more buggy for me)
Cool R
9) Tversity (for streaming to a 360)
For an OS, I love Ubuntu. True, it has tried to do too many things lately, but far superior to winxx. IMO.

1. Gimp. I heard what you said, but gimp can do about anything, it is just idiosyncratic and sometimes counterintuitive.
2. That's for vector graphics right? like old school clipart? Gimp then.
4,5,6. Libre Office. If you need full, professional editing tools it may be a little weak. But for 99% of jobs it's fine. It is all I use professionally.
7. Firefox. Just make sure you don't get a branded version with tool bars and crap.
8. I don't know what that is.
9. I also don't know what that is.
8228  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I get a bitcoin adress? on: July 06, 2012, 01:29:11 PM
I just sent you a bitcent so you can see how it works. Once you have fully downloaded the entire blockchain you will be able to spend it.

8229  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Destroying bitcoin, by coin, by coin... on: July 05, 2012, 07:56:18 PM
Thank you for doing this. It helps all of us who love bitcoin and see what a visionary idea it is by raising prices.
By the way, I don't believe you for a moment. But if it is true, WTF is wrong with your brain? Your cheating your employer out of their money so that you can work late creating and destroying money???
One day would look back and cry at what a fool you have been. I say would because I don't believe you. Perhaps you could show us the addresses for all these wallets your throwing away.

That's an awesome idea Meni! This does open up new markets that won't tolerate delays.
8232  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Resources on: July 05, 2012, 06:00:30 PM
Politics is the management of resources

Politics is the management of people.  "Polis" means "people".
If I remember my dead languages, it is specifically the exercise of power over people by people.

@Matthew.
In the second picture of you at the bank I noticed your nice Asian form as you hand him the magazine. Presenting it with both hands and a slight bow, proper. Your no Korea noob.  Cheesy
8235  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guns on: July 05, 2012, 05:15:02 PM
Gun control.... Why not bullet control?

ANY criminal can go into a gun shop and buy ammo, no questions asked..
That is being tried in Illinois. There you have to have a special permit to buy ammo. A "FOID", card I think it's called.
8236  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Got a project idea.. INTERNET WRESTLING! on: July 05, 2012, 03:57:41 PM
Although it may be hard to determine who is winning, this  might be a fun spectator event.  Smiley
It could be used like a duel to settle an issue between trolls. Let the free market be the judge! lol

good one man!

Nothing wrong with borrowing and lending. Unless you believe the Bible, in which case it is an abomination and one of the worst sins against God that can be committed.
8238  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ***WARNING TO PEOPLE WHO USE MONEYPAK/WALMART MONEY CARD*** on: July 05, 2012, 03:37:06 PM
You may want to see what a lawyer would charge to send a letter. Sometimes the letterhead from a law office is all it takes.
8239  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Stolen Valor Act Struck Down as Unconstitutional on: July 05, 2012, 01:25:24 PM
Who cares? Are you really going to hire someone based on what they said they did in a war?Plus it's so easily verifiable. It's like making it illegal to say you went to a college you didn't.
+1 By the same logic someone with a fake diploma is "stealing" from everyone with a real one.
8240  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good ways to convert USD to BTC on: July 03, 2012, 08:12:58 PM
Hi Joe,
I would highly recommend setting up an account at Mt.Gox and then doing a deposit at bitinstant. It is not the cheapest way but for those new to BTC or not tech savvy, it can't be beat.
