841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just think privacy is more important with financials. on: April 16, 2020, 02:07:33 PM
Posting your Bitcoin address, transaction ID on social media, may not worth it. People can get details of how you spend your money. Using a public address as a public person let's everyone see what you are doing with your money.
Then that's the end of the story. They can just look at it and look how the money coming in and out from your account, feel jelous or pity and that's it! Well, I admit that it was a bad habit because you don't know who is gonna invade your house force you to expose your account after knowing hw wealthy you are. I am not a computer geek to say this but as far as I know you cannot reverse engineer one's btc address and robbed all the money stored there. Because if it is really possible then for sure most of us here already lost money out of nowhere.
842  Other / Meta / Re: Are admins of bitcointalk related with satoshi? on: April 16, 2020, 11:30:30 AM
Hmm, you are so hilarious but got an imaginative mind tho Grin. You also make me wonder for a second in all fairness. But like the others said, I also don't think one of the admins are related with satoshi because if anyone does then it is impossible for his tongue not to slipped and said even a single clue proving that he is related to satoshi even once (IMO).

For sure at least one of them already encountered him and had discussion here.
843  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Paranoid about anonymity on: April 16, 2020, 08:39:23 AM
Of course, everyone care about their own security/privacy but some think what could possibly go wrong?. They have the "Nah, I'm just surfing the internet so I guess there is nothing to lose" kind of mindset. Well, that's understandable tho because not all of us are aware of the technicallities of cybercrime. The whole stuff is so sophisticated up to extent that most of us choose to ignore it subconsciously Sad. However, this is a bad habit and should not be tolerated. So let us all educate the others even only by means of giving simple advice, we don't need to be computer experts to do that Wink.
I only recently found out that Brave browser has integrated private browsing using Tor network. Did anyone try it? It looks like a really easy way to browse the Internet using Tor network.
That feature is only available for PC/laptop users, isn't it? I used the mobile version for quite a long time  already and yet I am not aware of it.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest winning so far on: April 16, 2020, 05:20:29 AM
It's only 1 month when 2020 came around the corner but I would like to know what your largest win is so far and if you have set yourself some targets for this year.

Unfortunately, I don't gain profits from gambling so far. So funny to think of it but it's true Grin. This is all due to pandemic. There is no opportunities of playing, even hanging out with my friends and play card games is impossible Sad(any kind of social gathering is not allowed). Plus, I choose to play safe especially these times. I prefer saving money rather than spending because no one knows when the crisis stop.
845  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency Should be subsubject in Economy on: April 16, 2020, 03:29:03 AM
Hmm, I don't think this idea is not so feasible simply because it is not as broad as the usual subjects. Crptocurrency was really interesting but it would be more suited as a topic only in Economics subject. And in college, I think it could be a major to Computer Engineering/Science students. Imagine, BS Computer Engineering major in Blockchain Technology, sounds good isn't it? Grin
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Suggestions for online gamblers on: April 16, 2020, 01:10:06 AM
It's really easy to tell that we should do a moderate gambling but if we are on their shoes and losing frequently for sure you will bet more and try to get what you lose when you play.
However, losing your control and betting more without limitation should cause problems. I bet you will lose all your money and try to take loans. Then, you won't get nothing unless trapped in loans. Sure, whatever the reason, you must try to control yourself and think normally. So, it is better to take break a moment once you lose frequently.
That's right! I also know the feeling of anxiety and strong eagerness of getting back all of the money you loss. Actually, it is very hard to fight especially if you are now hooked on the game. But my secret to remain the control in my body is the fact that I will go to school with no pocket money if I lose again (when I was in college) Grin. I always tell to myself that my sanity should depend on my budget lol and it works. Try to find your own reason too.
847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 15, 2020, 04:14:10 PM
[snip]
hope the vaccine is created soon so that the whole world will be normal and return to live watching the fighters UFC in the ring.
Even if the vaccine finally discovered today, it still take long before everyone could avail it. Lots of clinical trials and as well as designing of manufacturing system would be set first.

Well yeah having a vaccine is good but if we really want to go back to the business ASAP then it will be much effective if the cure will be discovered first. I mean the number of covid cases are bloating fast thus exteding the quarantine. So what we badly need right now is a medicine which can cure them anf then immunization for everyone is to be follow up. Let us hope for the best Smiley.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 15, 2020, 12:43:53 PM
Dana White is an amazing and determined man. If he is lucky he is planning his next event on May 9th. It is understandable it is a sport that generates a lot of money but the situation in the USA is critical. The USA became the first country with more positive cases for Covid19. Let's see what happens.
Ohh, yeah I heard it as well and according to the news big fight cards are are on it Cheesy. I'm so excited for this especially that it's been a while since I've watched new UFC fights lol. But to be honest, I'm still feeling a little bit skeptic on whether the event will finally occur or not. We are now on the middle of April and the event will be hold on the 2nd week of May. Do you think the situation in US will go to normal in such a short period of time?
849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market stability is not ascertain.We might fall again on: April 15, 2020, 03:47:39 AM
If price chart declines then so be it. Bring it on if that's the fate we need to face! I'm no longer scared of such dips since I experienced a big one before. I am not saying that I'm not affected at all. Of course, I do. However, I learned how to change my mindset. I always go with the positive vibes and think of ways how such crisis do good for me (eg. buying more) Smiley.
As a result of the current world crisis regarding the pandemic virus spread that have ravaged the world and still not stopping. this has affected global markets including stocks, fortunes, commodities, oil prices. everything is crashing. a lot of accounts has been liquidated on trading platform. within two weeks. billions has dissappeared due to current virus crisis.
Indeed but actually the total damage could rise further as the pandemic continues. Imagine, analysts estimated that our country's economy might lose up 1 trillion pesos. That's so bad but I hope this misery will end soon. God bless us all.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When is altcoin season??? on: April 14, 2020, 02:37:41 PM
The altcoin season will not start soon. If you want the altcoin season like 2017 to appear, you first need to expect bitcoin to go up to $ 20k again. I think that is the only opportunity to stimulate this market to rise again
Nice, what an honest opinion Grin. That is what I am thinking about as well. Based on my perspective, altcoin cannot stand on its own — they cannot create different path. Yeah! Each one of them are different platforms as well as considerably unique compare to btc but at the end of the day they are all flowing where btc flows. I mean, they are remaining as a shadow. If btc pumps then alt pumps, if btc declines then most of them decline as well. That's what I see on the trend.
851  Other / Meta / Re: why hoarding Smerits? on: April 14, 2020, 06:43:44 AM
~~~
Post quality is the basic standard for distributing sMerit, so we dont need to limit it to rankings because only members who post quality goods have the right to get it.
Hmm, it's not like that I'm just limiting my smerit and no longer open for high members. Actually, I also give merits to Sr. Members and up if there's a chance but I realized that my smerits would be more meaningful if I give it to those low ranked quality posters. Besides, they needed it most compare to those Legendary members who already got overflowing recognition from the others Cheesy. For me it is just my simple token of appreciation which can somehow uplift their self esteem as a member of this forum. I want them to feel that they really belong here Smiley.
852  Other / Meta / Re: why hoarding Smerits? on: April 14, 2020, 03:24:44 AM
@OP
I believe hoarding is not the correct term to explain why some of the members who have lots of merits seem stingy or slow to spend their sMerits. Well, you know they can't stay online 24/7 and giving merit is a wearying activity (or should I say it sucks, lol). So many cheaters, copy pasters, plagiarists, etc., made them have to be careful with giving sMerits.
Aside from that, some also are too picky to choose the right one like me. I mean, I want to give my smerits to someone with exceptional post but sometimes I'm more attracted giving merits to members which is polite and with the right intention of helping others Smiley. I love appreciating small contributions from people with kind heart.
853  Economy / Economics / Re: a disease or a virus or is there business in it? on: April 13, 2020, 04:49:26 PM
Well the business they are talking about is the possibility of any business in relate with the corona virus like the antidote, because we're pretty sure that the vaccine would costs a lot for intellectual matter that's it. Business will be business man even the world is ending there will be a sure business for any one. What matter the cost of the vaccine, I hope we get it the right time and not when there is another virus.
Some rumors say that Corona virus originally came from the laboratory and didn't occur in nature, it was a secret weapon of China before conducting WW3 and now some of you think it was all for business? ^sigh what are the other conspiracies you think of? Undecided This things are not helping to ease the burden we all feel, it worsen instead. Though they are not proven, but still the crowd will be affected psychologically. These ideas will surely make some of us especially the weak hearted to feel more anxiety and overthink.
Well, I admit that your presumptions are feasible but who would even do such thing? I think only the devil could do such sinful act.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: April 13, 2020, 02:07:10 PM
Though Asaytono's family can surely cover all the expenses for his recovery, but a help whether big or small still matters. It is already not about the money but about the love Smiley. For sure he will recover faster as soon as he heard about this because he will feel that there are still many people who cares for him despite of being an old retired PBA player.
855  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading, gambling and binary options. Which one you prefer? on: April 13, 2020, 08:26:35 AM
As of now, I'm just focus on gambling because that's what I already do when I was in highschool lol Grin. I am not saying that I'm really gooad at it but at least I've got the basic knowledge and guts to deal with it. Though I badly want to try daytrading but I really can't because of lack of funds/equipment (e.g. computer) as well as the basics. Another hindrance that I get is my busy sched. So far, I can't find time got that but as soon as I finished what I need to finish then I would love to try it of course Smiley.
856  Other / Politics & Society / Re: COVID-19 teaches all of us. on: April 13, 2020, 05:10:17 AM
there is always a positive side to what is happening now.
by not ignoring the number of victims who died, we can say that the earth is trying to rejuvenate itself. "Earth" also needs our attention.
look and feel the temperature, the weather feels cooler, the air feels fresher.
stay positive. Keep spirit.
Look at that image, it was the Bataan Cross which can be found here in the Philippines.And here's the interesting part, that photo was captured amidst the community quarantine. Imagine, the photographer took a shot from Quezon City which is around 124 kilometers away from Bataan (I'm not sure of the displacement) and yet the picture is so vivid Shocked. This is a great manifestation that our atmosphere becomes cleaner and clearer due to force shutdown of factories and other industries. Mother Nature really find ways to heal herself Smiley. I'm glad because at least there are good things happening despite of the crisis we have right now.
857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Telegram associated with fraudsters on: April 13, 2020, 02:14:30 AM
Scammers in Telegram, well, there are scammers without Telegram
See? It already came from your word that there are also scammers which don't have Telegram. Therefore we conclude that Telegram is not directly realated with the modus of scammers — it was a justa social media platform nothing more and nothing less Smiley. Well, it is really the main app used by the managers to gather all bounty participants in one place. However, it is not fair if we include it on the scam itself because whatever you say, the bottom line is it was just a medium for communication. If there is someone who should blame here then it should be the devs or leaders of the project who conducted the campaign. Maybe you are able to said those things simply because you are getting scammed more often, how unfortunate you are Sad. Just be meticulous next time when choosing a bounty, that's the best thing you can do I guess.
858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 12, 2020, 12:21:06 PM
Probably what's going to happen is they are going to have mass testing, Test everyone that is going to be allowed in the Island surely only negative are just going to be allowed in the Island.
Thinking about it if only uninfected people are allowed in the Island this idea might work since it was just like a quarantine thing in a Island. The problem is their might be some VIP since UFC somehow involves money a lot so we can't really make sure if everybody is not positive to the virus. But if rules are followed for sure the Island thing is going to work.
Yeah! I also think that using a private island as a venue for the UFC fights could work. However, even how hard they impose safety measures, the risk are still there simply because of the fact that the virus is not yet eradicated by mankind and can't be seen. Plus, the infected person do not show early symptoms so easily making it more threatening.
Well, you are right on the part of conducting a mass testing for people (must have no exemptions) who will go there but they should do it days/week before the event to avoid any problem. Furthermore, they should also disinfect the ship and everything which does not originally came from the island because it may carry the virsu as well.
Hmm, I smell more expenses are coming for Dana assuming he pursue this on future fights lol Grin.
859  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A SIMPLIFIED BREAKDOWN OF TRUST SYSTEM +0/=0/-0 on: April 12, 2020, 09:45:57 AM
4. What are the consequences of not having a good rating?
5. Can poor rating system of an account lead to a ban of  such an account?
I want to give emphasis on these matters.
The consequences for having a poor rating gives you a lot of headache for sure. If you are applying on signature/bounty campaigns with such trust rating then better to concede now because there is no chance you will get accepted. Simply because "having a negative trust" is not allowed. Aside from that, the other things you could expect is that no one will attempt to make transactions (either buy or sell) with you. Everyone definitely get extremely cautious for who you are.
But even how bad your trust ratings are, I think you will not get banned. But you know what? It was all the same. Most of the members will belittle you for having a bad image unless you once became an influential person here.
With regards of having neutral trust ratings (like me), hmm I think everything still okay and under control. You can do what a normal member can do here. But remember! Be more careful now. Such rating is a wake up call for you to become a better member so don't just ignore it. Read the reviews you got and correct it. I know you might disagree on some comments they told you but let it be. Besides, there's no point for complaining; it may only get the situation even worse. If you got one, I guess the best thing you can do is serve it as your inspiration and reminder that you can be more than that Smiley.
860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has Seen a Major Boost Amid Dollar Crisis on: April 12, 2020, 01:45:06 AM
We still not at "before prices" (9k lvl) and this is a major boost?
Maybe OP eas just a little bit exaggerated for using the word "major" Grin. Nonetheless, bitcoin is doing great right now. Imagine, we are in the middle of the pandemic yet its price is stabilized on $6k - $7k mark. I guess that's already a thing you should be proud of. At least btc proves us how strong it is — that it can resist amidst a strong crisis.
