841  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-08-22 TheGenesisBlock.com - Additional $2.1M Seized from Mt. Gox Account on: August 23, 2013, 06:20:37 PM
Because of the seized funds, Mtgox is now essentially running a pyramid business.  New money coming in is used for paying customers waiting to withdraw.

you do know that mtgox actually makes money with it's trades. it's taken in more money off fees than has been "seized".
it's not like they actually dont make money

edit: sorry about tone seems like you were not trolling - Tongue
they made more than the 5million seized this year.
then AGAIN did the US have the right to seize that in the first place..... we will see
842  Economy / Speculation / Re: only $5 million seized from MtGOX - making fears of insolvency ATM SMALL on: August 23, 2013, 04:26:20 PM
am confused. so after gox's money was seized, they still credited trader accounts? that sound's stupid and possibly illegal.

they are a japanese company. what's so hard to understand? does every company in the world have to abide by USA's arbitrary decisions. please explain your "logic"
843  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 23, 2013, 04:21:53 PM
no lawsuits in the works? i'm surprised

doesn't matter what happened - what Avalon did caused financial loss due to them not holding their end of the contract.
100% the judge will rule against them. depending on what actually happened they could be prosecuted for criminal fraud and go to jail.
i guarantee that it is much better for yifu to partially refund and come out CLEAN about what happened than have it all be discovered in the court of law.
844  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 23, 2013, 03:49:03 PM
you guys that are jumping into buying these and other large hash machines should punch some numbers in one of the online calculators. Before the end of the summer the difficulty will be at at least 100 million and over 200 million before years end. The get rich scheme will not happen, on the contrary, some of you will never recover the invested money

some of us are hobbyists....and in this for the long haul..... in 2-3 years when bitcoins are $700-$1000 each... tell me about ROI....

you may not understand ROI -
i.e investing with bitcoins ROI may never be reached! regardless of btc/usd exchange rate - if you spend 20 bitcoins and only get 17 back - doesn' matter what the exchange rate is you will still lose on your investment!!!
also, you COULD be better off just spending the money (USD) today buying coins at market price and have MORE coins (possibly) than mining them with the equivalent USD purchase.

for some reason people forget simple econ basics.

risk is risk- noone knows that's why people make projections and guesses
845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ron Paul cool with bitcoins on: August 23, 2013, 02:04:02 AM
How is that related to the price of Bitcoin?

Either way is Ron Paul still a thing?

He has more effect on price than you.....
846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ron Paul gives views on Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin on: August 23, 2013, 12:38:58 AM
he's a congressman at least he's got some clout in their inner circle
847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Ron Paul cool with bitcoins on: August 23, 2013, 12:37:56 AM
"My thoughts on Bitcoin and the other currencies is that they ought to be legal unless there is fraud involved. The government should not get involved in regulating private money if there is no fraud. I do not take a position on Bitcoin and other proposed currencies in a technical fashion, but I understand the political ramifications of them and I think that government should stay out of them and they should be perfectly legal, even though I don't endorse (technically) one over another."

very cryptocoin friendly stance

Like I said... BS prices.

This is just stupid as hell, you should consider donating something to charity or some organization.
I don't see how all this money will be spent anyways...

his forum, his money - though donating a part or keeping some for important aspects in the future would be nice
bfl should be banned from advertising
852  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: August 21, 2013, 05:35:45 PM
I hope those of you rushing to buy new shares are prepared to lose that money. The whales are awake now and are going to be looking for exits.

There are no fundamentals and this is not a growth stock. I don't know how to explain it any better. It's really, really simple and I don't get off on longs getting burned, especially by whales.

this makes no sense - just a bunch of jibberish

everyone quit your yapping - otherwise when the time comes when something IMPORTANT will be posted it'll get lost in all this blah blah
856  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 21, 2013, 03:16:05 AM
same shit - if anyone breaks a legal contract they can be sued and even jailed.

these people will be RICH if they do everything properly - if they fuck everyone over they'll all be in jail. what will they have to gain ?

it's just dumb for them to try to lose everything when the upside is so much more-

FYI some make choose not to use the word ownership for LEGAL registration reasons..... which is fine - who cares

why do you have to register to see am sales info?
also is 796xchange-mri the stock for the website?
the english is surprisingly good for a chinese website but still has a little bit more of a way to go.
859  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 21, 2013, 02:39:10 AM
a contract is a contract period. as long as the contract was legal to begin with (which it was) it's universally enforceable.
argghhdasfjhsdofdshfshfkdlsfhsl

contract that equates to full revenue share is the same thing as a straight up equity (minus the legal registration requirements that equity requires) it's a contract that's fully enforceable. you guys need to find different topic to clog up the next few pages with
