Thank you for the updates. Perhaps there is a better way instead of sending those mass PMs to everyone, because it lists all of us together and in some way affects privacy. Also, some people will see it as spam and report you.

But moving on - good to see the developments, and exchange listings. The Masternodes was something I was interested in previously but with the market changes of the past few weeks, I now have to overlook them. Never mind, still curious about what happens next here.
8582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Palm Beach Confidential October 2017 on: November 08, 2017, 02:22:35 PM

It's kinda mess up that pbc release their report much later to their subscribers. As a result of of their subscribers lost a lot of money. I hope in the long term zencash will do well.

There's hint pbc will recommend etp. Buy some now since no one know about them yet.

That is not messed up at all, that is simply the working strategy of palm beach c. Check out their website and see how much they charge for their subscriptions (other than the spammy free email service). Imagine if just one guy paid for the premiums. Thousands of dollars worth. Get in 10 rich guys who know nothing about crypto and you have 5 figures to play with. They can buy a damn cheap alt worth cents or less, talk it up and when the rich guys get the late news at x2, they buy it. Imagine the effect! It becomes x3 or more, the rich guys cash out and PBC get even better. Terrible people in crypto.
8583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🐈🐈[PussyCoin]🐈🐈 AIRDROP 🙀 on: November 08, 2017, 12:21:40 PM
Forgive me for asking, but as I am a complete virgin when it comes to executing Ethereum smart contracts, will I expose my wallet to any risk if I execute that smart contract for getting the free Pussycoins? I ask because I simply do not understand the code, and worry with all the hacks going on for ETH, especially the one yesterday, I might end up doing something stupid I might regret tomorrow (or next year, who knows with ETH?).

I am comfortable putting my faith in the dev and his pussy cat, but not so much in the Ethereum blockchain, forgive my virginity!
8584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 08, 2017, 08:06:23 AM
I'm curious how you arrive at that figure. Has it really been pulled from somewhere the sun don't shine or is there a rational basis for it?

It's a very rough assumption based on past market runs. Monero went from about $3 to $15 last year (5x increase), from about $12 (March 10th) to a high of $60 earlier this year (5x increase), then from $30 on July 16th to $150 (5x increase). So if our last strong support was at $85 then I'm predicting our next 5x run will bring us to $425, which should happen no later than December 15th (45 day interval).

EDIT: Also, the Nov. 1st 2016 run from $4 to $18.5 almost fits the pattern.

That is actually quite a solid analysis, thank you for that. I suspected as much. I only have exactly 1 Monero bought at $60 in the first quarter of this year, so there is little to gain or lose until I am able to stock up more. In any outcome, today it has reached $100 again even though Bitcoin fell and rose to $7400, so I am also very hopeful that it will continue to break a bit of resistance. Definitely feel $85 is the current support. Hope it waits until January before moving past the old ATH, I will have added 2 or 3 coins to my lonely Monero by then!
8585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If you had 15 Ether, where would you invest for the long term Today on: November 08, 2017, 05:58:36 AM
I have 15 Ethers, that I have managed to saved in the last 1 year. Where would you invest, taking a long-term point; say a timeframe of about 2 to 3 years. A moderate risk portfolio in cryptocurrency. Some advise would be nice...

Well, if I had 15 ETH yesterday, I would definitely have used between 3 to 4.5 (20 to 30%) of it to further increase my non-ETH alts. I am not quite ready to further diversify as I believe my basket of alts is big enough, but I would have increased in Waves and Stratis, according to your two/three year timeframe. I think these are low risk, at worst, medium risk if things do not progress over the next two or three years.

Today it seems to have suffered in price, probably the next new hacking news. So hold until $300 recovers.
8586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Vs. Ethereum on: November 07, 2017, 03:44:29 PM
Does any one thinks that Ethereum can survive with the rising of Waves? I've heard that "Waves will be the next Ethereum"
I never heard that waves will top ethereum or will be the next ethereum, but I know waves has a potential. Waves and Ethereum is comparable because they do many almost the same tasks. But there are times that you may say why waves? why ethereum?  Waves is designed for easy crowdfunding, it's pretty direct when it comes to token operations and fast transactions.  Ethereum has a feature that waves doesnt have like the smart contracts.

I do not think any of the Waves team is concerned with overtaking Ethereum, not does it ever want to be competing with other platforms. That is actually one of my favorite things about Waves, they are simply focused on their platform and do not seem to give a hoot about the others being better than them.

Sure, they are comparable, but Ethereum is very corporate and high profile, Waves is still very rooted. Not saying they will not turn into a giant like ETH, but if they do, I hope they do not suffer the same hacks that are the big headache of ETH!

P.S. ETH has smart contracts actually,,,
8587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where do you find your news? on: November 07, 2017, 02:05:13 PM
Honestly, there are just so many news places now that I even stopped using my bookmarks. Any time I want to find a news or update on a particular project, I just use Google:

1. You get the most relevant news. Usually the big news sites like cointelegraph and themerkle are good.
2. If it does not appear on Google, then it is probably not reliable anyway since the news should come from the direct website or portals it sends news out to.

The ANN threads right here on bitcointalk are also useful.

I do read external news sometimes, but then it is 50/50 fact or rumor. Up to you to judge, but I generally read everything and do not trust 100%.
8588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: WHERE ARE ALL THE ERC20-23 TOKEN EXCHANGES? on: November 07, 2017, 09:15:35 AM
Like everyone says, EtherDelta is your first choice to go. But that is the risk you take when investing or buying in all these altcoins and tokens. They are very simple to create but extremely difficult to find on a major exchange with liquidity. Be sure when you invest you also look into how they will be listed or you will face a tough time getting people to buy them off you. This is also why bounties in huge stakes of tokens are practically worthless, no matter how much the price they claim it will be. No buyers= no price. Few buyers = thin orderbooks that will drop the price so quickly.
8589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Portfolio/Following Coins For Long Term on: November 07, 2017, 07:45:13 AM
Prices of 6 November 2017:

1-CDT, Coindash $0.037629 0.00000513 BTC 0.00012500 ETH
2-MNX, Minexcoin $4.88 0.00066575 BTC
3-WGR, Wagerr $0.046302 0.00000631 BTC 0.01318690 WAVES
4-BNT, Bancor $1.88 0.00025651 BTC 0.00624952 ETH
5-TAAS $4.41 0.00060166 BTC 0.01465890 ETH

I'll add 2 more coins when they hit the market. I'm watching their prices and holding them for long term. I might sell them early if they reach my target.

*Self-moderated thread: Posts will be deleted only if they are extremely low quality.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what are the ETH and WAVES values next to BTC? Did you buy them in different pairs and those are all your entry points? It is refreshing to see all five coins that I know about, and yet do not have in my portfolio. Hopefully you do better than I did. When were your buy dates or did you get them all yesterday? And why did you buy now (I know prices are good but a lot of people are predicting Bitcoin will rise even higher with the coming fork)?
8590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you trade cryptos on etoro? on: November 06, 2017, 09:21:45 AM
E-toro is one of the oldest trading platforms, but it was chiefly focused on forex. They may have added crypto pairs, but I would advice against using them if you only trade cryptos. They have particularly difficult terms when it comes to withdrawing as everything is still done in the forex style. You may be able to buy and sell crypto, but if you want to deposit and withdraw alts especially, you may end up being forced to do everything in fiat. Their wallets, are all fiat based, you see. Maybe if you already own an account there and are curious to try Bitcoin or other alts, but not to open an account with crypto.

Also, heavy verification needed, which you only find out at withdrawal.
8591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another MAJOR altcoin dip few days before Segwit? on: November 06, 2017, 08:03:09 AM
No, still too soon to call this pattern. We all saw what happened after Bitcoin Cash fork, so those like me experienced alts declining and thought it was a great time to buy. Then we saw that the same pattern happened before Bitcoin Gold fork, but Bitcoin did not dump and just continued to go higher and higher. As a result, alts just kept getting cheaper and cheaper.

Remember Segwit2x fork is not going to be anything like the earlier two. This is a very serious fork with serious backing. The market will be extremely unpredictable. All trading will be gambles, make no mistake.
8592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Power Ledger (POWR) is a GAME CHANGER to the electricity industry on: November 06, 2017, 06:58:12 AM
This coin its getting a lot of HYPE, price Sky-Rocking at Binance Exchange!
Rumors indicate Elon Musk also buying ( or joining the project ) :

https://medium.com/@jonoturner/why-power-ledger-is-a-game-changer-to-the-electricity-industry-83b442948ee4

- Strong indicators of being listed with Poloniex and Bittrex.
- Solves a massive problem with electricity prices and renewable energy.
- Team member is also the Mayor of Perth, Australia. https://news.bitcoin.com/podcast-with-power-ledgers-co-founder-dr-jemma-green/
- Already partnered with Energy Australia. A major electricity provider.
- They are in talks with Elon Musk. https://steemit.com/elon/@cyberquoll/is-elon-musk-buying-powr-coin
- They are in talks with Richard Branson.
- Numerous mainstream news reports in Australia. You can watch them on ABC news for example.
- Already in trial.

I do believe its a good project, but due to bureaucracy, probably more for medium-long term holding, invested ALL IN, don't want to miss this boat, lets see how it goes... Cheesy

I read power ledger and see no reason for it to become an industry game changer, it looks like it knows only the surface of the industry. Capturing (or storing and reselling) solar energy has been properly done in Europe and even in some parts of South America for a very long time now. In some countries, already there is abundance of energy and people are getting virtually free energy plus some income from selling.

So how is this technology now a game changer when the game has already changed because of it?

Branson for Australia maybe but Elon Musk for something old? Hype and rumours no doubt.
8593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Palm Beach Confidential For November on: November 06, 2017, 06:43:36 AM
I subscribed to a newsletter of the Palm Beach Confidential. Classic American? spamming  technique:

- fantastic news,
- I'm excited to have him,
- do not want to miss this,
- I'm so bullish
- last full day (classic limited time frame)

This kind of hyping people up, makes me wanna puke.

Thank you so much for this. I posted several days ago about these guys. By the way I do not recall subscribing to any newsletter, I just got spammed somehow from somewhere, I suspect from one of the several airdrops I registered for with email. Bad mistake.

They spam their emails to you, and say things like free giveaways of Bitcoin to attract millions of people. Multi millionaires, "if you listened to this guy and invested $100 last year, you would make $100k today" bullshit, but they cannot afford to spend money to correct typos on their website.
8594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BRO] [WEBRADIO] 😍 BITRAD.IO 😍 - ICO LIVE - Stream diffrent - Webradio on: November 05, 2017, 12:54:13 PM
Hello guys,

Can anyone tell me about master node, is it profitable? If yes, how much?

At the moment 2-3 bro per day.

So it is 0.40 a day, and it is 12$ a month.

To make a node you need how many coins?

Masternode is of course profitable, but I think you should just stick to the option of buying a share within the Bitradio platform. It is very small amounts earned but it is better than staking in my opinion. No need to ever worry about electricity and what not. I always liked Bitradio even as a listening platform, so have not been bothered by the lowering rewards for listening. I hardly ever even click the captcha so I think I earn something like 1 and a half hours a day if I use it.

Just wish there were better options to kill all the bots, but devs will eventually handle it.
8595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 altcoins for trading on: November 05, 2017, 12:35:44 PM
Most of the altcoins have dropped now. But you can see that: ETH, Bitcoin cash, Ripple, Qtum, Bitconnect have recovered.
Are you sure about to include the bitconnect in your list? What the heck you are promoting the ponzi coin just like bitfinex and shame on you with your signature.  a lot of people just stay away from bitconnect right now

ETH will always be one of the big four in terms of trading, simply because of its high volume. This was greatly aided this year by the load of ERC20 tokens that have come up. Smart to need Ethereum blockchain to conduct trading and sending, this really pushed ETH away from danger of losing all steam.

Bitconnect/QTUM/Ripple/BCH - come on, these are all just easy riders going up and down according to the rhythm of Bitcoin and Ethereum. And yeah, Bitconnect is already marked as a ponzi. Fair warning given, should take heed, guys.
8596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there advantages of Trading on ETH Markets? on: November 05, 2017, 11:23:51 AM
I want to enter the market right now...i see btc on ATH and dont want to buy the top...now i asked myself which advantages it will have to buy ETH with fiat and then get in via ETH Markets...like ETH/SC...or is this just the same as buying BTC? Are the coins that i buy with ETH bounded to the ETH Market or can i easily sell for BTC...Its new to me and i never traded this before...only want to know if there is a difference...Thanks!!!

If you consider ETH to be a more stable crypto than Bitcoin right now, then yes that would be an advantage. But basically you need to understand if you buy an alt, you are shorting the pair. E.g. if you buy alt/btc then you are shorting Bitcoin. If you buy alt/eth, then you are shorting Ethereum. So if you THINK ETH is stable or will fall, go ahead. If you feel ETH will head up, then you should not trade on eth markets.

Another disadvantage is that 99% of alts are for sure traded on BTC pair. ETH is catching up but I believe is not even close to covering 50% of all available alts.
8597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EBYTE] Etherball - Totally free distribution on: November 05, 2017, 09:59:17 AM
So...to receive 1 EBYTE you need to have 1000 ETH?

We are doing exactly the same as Byteball, the proportion is the same. There at the moment about 95 Millions of ETH on circulation, we are issuing a token capped at 1 Million.
Byteball is capped at 1 million GBYTE and distributes 0.1 GB for every 16 BTC (and there are about 16 millions BTC as circulating supply), therefore we distribute 0.1 EBYTE for every 95 ETH.

0.1/95 = 0.0010526315789474

We rounded down to 0.001 because Ethereum is not capped like Bitcoin

Everything will be explained in the whitepaper though, which will be soon released

Exactly, for those who have no experience with Byteball, be aware that when rewards were bigger, it only prompted people to buy up massively before distribution, and then immediately dump all of it just for pure profit taking. Byteball is still awesome but they suffered from price manipulation when they doubled their airdrop distributions.

Stick to this, if possible adjust even lower when you can. And do seek out merchants like byteball did!
8598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Alts ever reach their previous ATH's again or is it the end of the road? on: November 05, 2017, 09:39:06 AM
Bitcoin market dominance keeps going up and Alts market dominance keeps going down.

Whats caused bitcoin to reach current all time highs? Is it segwit or its free airdrop forks or am I missing any good confirmed news of bitcoin?

There are two possible outcomes here, based on past historical charts:
1. Bitcoin finally gets the correction everyone was waiting for. Here, alts will maintain fiat value but BTC pairs will also return to pre BTC ATH levels.
2. Alts on their own get big valuations pushed up by the majors like ETH, LTC, and some of the newer majors like Neo, Ripple.

The third outcome is, but unlikely, all alts just continue to struggle except for the few pumps. This is the outcome I hope never happens or I will lose a lot of money.
8599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: November 04, 2017, 07:43:30 PM
more dump. i don't know how low it can go but i think people are gonna give it their best shot anyway. it hasn't really fallen all that much compared to other alts recently but this will be an incentive to do so.

i can understand why the dev air dropped but maybe he should call a complete halt to the giveaway aspect. there are a bunch of other things he can try with the remaining gbyte.

I have always followed Byteball ever since it started moving up so much to $900, but I was a mere observer since I did not at the time have any Bitcoin, and was not yet into alt trading. I actually have a teeny bit of byteballs which are worth a couple of dollars, and the wallet is really interesting.

It is okay at this point to continue finishing the distribution on giveaways. Of course this was one of the few coins to start out like this, and there was a lot of lessons to be learned from the model. But this is a project with SO much potential, actual use, great devs who work so hard to bring merchants. If it falls even to $150 now which I think it will, I would buy some and look to collect on remaining airdrops.
8600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] TCASH - 🔥🔥New Decentralized Cryptocurrency Exchange Platform🔥🔥 on: November 04, 2017, 02:52:57 PM
Okay, I do not usually say this, but I actually really like your trading platform! Now you only need to pay attention to a few things to ensure success:

1. Make sure you never fall into centralization. Duh, I know, but people do not like surprises. Let everyone trade and withdraw whenever, never support a coin you cannot maintain.
2. Support: there will always be technical issues. Never let customers wait for longer than 1 day to resolve. One bad experience leads to two, three and then it never ends and the damage to reputation is over.

Too bad I missed the airdrop!
