861  Economy / Speculation / Re: How to predict Bit coin price. on: September 09, 2019, 09:25:43 AM
The best mathematical model we currently have for stock markets is as follows.

You wake up and walk to your desk.
On your desk are your wads of cash.
You grab all your wads of cash and leave the house.
If you see another investor you throw random amounts of cash at them.
They do the same to you and you pick up that cash.
After a day of walking around town you go home.
You put your wads of cash on the desk and go to sleep.

I am starting to feel like I'll again fuck this up and sell nothing and wait for the next ATH after this. (2023-2025) Grin

I know the feeling. Need to start planning.

Sign up to an exchange that can withdraw fiat to my bank (get verified)...
Start planning my cold-wallet to exchange attack vector....
Get my old BTC armory synced up and get the coins out of there...
Figure out where to go for all the 300 forks that happened ....

Only thing ready to go is my phone wallet with my loose change Smiley

I've only been buying so selling will be a new experience Grin

Ow well if we miss the train again we will need to sell at $1M per BTC in 5 years or so Undecided

It's December. Year 2022. Shitcoiners still waiting for altseason. Their porfolios are down 99.9998%. Altseason finally comes. Their portfolios make a huge 10% recovery. Bitcoin is $250,000. Trump got re-elected. Schiff converted all his gold to #Bitcoin. Vitalik disappeared. 😐

869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Close to BIG Breakout. Will it be $7K or $13K? on: September 08, 2019, 09:29:08 AM
It seems that it broke up rather than down.
Maybe I'm missing something or being an idiot, but bitcoin hasn't broken out either way (yet).  It's been trading in a range ever since breaking out of its last range when it was hovering around $3500 for many months.

I'm not a believer in technical analysis, but in this case I tend to agree with OP's analysis and also his advice with the stop-loss orders and whatnot.  The past market behavior of bitcoin makes me think that it's going to pop over $13k or fall below $8k--one of those things is probably going to happen.  And investors looks like they're pretty bullish right now, so my best guess is that we're headed higher rather than lower, but who knows.  Whatever happens, I doubt that bitcoin is going to fall as low as $7k.  If it does that, we're in trouble (but it'd be a damn good buying opportunity).

Benefit is that all that shitcoins will die forever and ever
Lol.  They're not dying, although a lot of them are stagnating right now.
Technical analysis can explain how BTC prices move 80% of the time, but you are not a believer?
Just see what some good posters post here, 80% of the time it's correct and the price touches the resistance, or the support.
Next support is around $9300, price is probably heading to that price soon or later.
Not good to buy right now, will probably buy more BTC around $9500 (September or October).

It is a good time if you ultimately believe Bitcoin will go higher.
- If it breaks up you miss the train.
- If it breaks down you buy all the way down the dip. (Get a dollar cost average)
Trying to optimize your buy point is not a good strategy imo.

If you drop a small steel nut onto a polished concrete floor from a height of 8 feet how far can it go?

8 feet because it hits the concrete floor  Grin

There's a lot of evidence that Segwit is the alteration. Read the docs, the white paper
The same evidence that CSW is satoshi?

WTF are you on about? How could evidence of personal identity have anything whatsoever to do with evidence of protocol change?

Quote
I'm not sure if you're trolling or trying to be serious.

Back at ya.

See any evidence of SegWit in the white paper? No?

Explicitly in front of your face. Willful dereliction of truthiness.

SegWit was indeed an alteration of the Bitcoin protocol. Undeniably. There is really no way to argue otherwise.

I am pretty confident the white paper doesn’t say anything about Turing completeness, legally enforceable smart contracts, token protocols,  large data storage capability and all the other shit in Bitcoin SV marketing

What I know is that SegWit was added to bitcoin via a soft fork.
A soft fork means that it can coexist with the previous version and doesn’t require people to choose which coin to support (aka hard fork).

877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: 2017 vs 2019 on: September 07, 2019, 03:40:51 PM
Ethereum is going through it's first bear cycle. I have never had ETH only BTC. Recently I have bought some ETH. If it goes ATH you have a higher profit than BTC. I think ETH brings value to the table and can be a good number 2 coin. There are ETH ATMs... All good signs.
What I have seen is that alt coins always follow after BTC and the price will rise one BTC goes ATH and people start buying all kinds of altcoins.
I believe ETH still had some good years to come....

Science is just scratching the surface on the inevitable defeat of father time. Immortal Bitcoiners will transcend the human aging process and hodl forever as nocoiners and shitcoiners wither away into dust due to lack of funds.

Where can I buy this? Got to survive the HODL 😎
