I wouldn't take the risk on any Ponzi, regardless of how honest or transparent is. People have said this before about these schemes then end up losing. Regardless, a lot of people will lose out sooner or later.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 05, 2014, 01:56:16 PM
I've got a feeling this will fail on launch. What happend to the OP? He hasn't posted since the announcement.
864  Economy / Speculation / Re: Safe Currency on: February 03, 2014, 06:21:18 PM
Please prepare yourself for the next bitcoin spike.  Probably will reach $2000 in a week or two.  Since the Ukraine is collapsing under central bank incompetence, there will soon be an exodus to bitcoin.
http://money.cnn.com/2014/02/03/news/economy/ukraine-currency-politics/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

Is there actually any word or sources on whether Ukrainians have actually been buying Bitcoin?
just whispers of hyperinflation today - mass exodus from national currency to follow.  I am providing this warning early.  In two weeks once BTC goes over 1500 (two weeks) you can thank me with a BTC tip later.

Well I don't listen to wild speculation, but I hope you're right, but I'm very sceptical.
Don't listen to me - go read the news.  Ukraine isn't some tiny little no-where-ville.  The fucking place is about to collapse and it is a big deal.  The bank is on the brink of disaster and money flight will be triggered soon.  Cyprus proved BTC is a safety currency in these kinds of crises.  Cyprus and Ukraine both have a heavy Russian influence.  Check back here soon to learn if I was right.

I'm not talking about the economy in Ukraine, but the price of Bitcoin rising because of it.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shocked At What Alt Coins Are For on: February 03, 2014, 06:18:35 PM
Crypto was CREATED to be about money.

Crypto IS about money.

Crypto will ALWAYS be about money.

My $.02.

Wink

Yes, but it should be a revolutionary form, not just a get rich quick scheme for idiots.
866  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much longer will Mt.Gox exist before they´re out of business? on: February 03, 2014, 06:17:17 PM
I heard its all going really well and they plan in integrate litecoin Cheesy

Ha, I wonder if that ever will actually happen. I'm sure they realised there's not much point now.

The only way gox will stay alive is if they trading Litecoin.

I doubt even that can save them.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pre-mined alt coins on: February 03, 2014, 06:16:29 PM
In my opinion NXT is a completely scam, same with Quark.

It makes no sense why Quark is even in this conversation.

Quark was NOT pre-mined at all.

It might not've been premined but it was essentially instamined.

What the hell is instamined?

Where most or a lot of the mining is done very quickly after launch.

869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: New Exchange/Trading site opening CryptoPowers.com on: February 03, 2014, 06:06:21 PM
Asking for coins with an email address... prepare to get bombarded by newbs and their crapcoins requests lol.

We see value in all coins. We also intend to use site powers to build the overall value of any and every coin in our exchange. As long as a coin has user support it will be considered.

What coins do you think we should include?

What ones are you planning on already including?

874  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is mining legal in US on: February 03, 2014, 05:17:46 PM
So say Kraken exchange, if you exchange your btc for $ on Kraken, you are done and you don't need to submit any tax or anything?

Just read up on capital gains taxes. If it's only a small amount you wont need to pay any taxes, but you will if it goes over your countries tax threshold.
875  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are BTC prices not moving ? on: February 03, 2014, 05:16:44 PM
I can not believe what I paid 1000 USD.   Roll Eyes
Just now, I understand, Bitcoin is fog.

Bitcoin is fog? It'll go above $1000 again, just be patient.
876  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is mining legal in US on: February 03, 2014, 05:04:16 PM

877  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: MakeBTC.org Pyramid Scheme - VERIFIED SCAM on: February 03, 2014, 05:01:42 PM
makeBTC is leading the add auction with a 1.55 bid,  he sent 1.25 to Thymos which allows him to bid until 2.5

Is he paying for the ads with your money?  Cheesy
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ALL SET! A Bitcoin-themed banner WILL be present at Super Bowl XLVIII. on: February 03, 2014, 04:57:39 PM
Interception field goal where our banner would have been seen.

It would've probably been too small to be seen I reckon.

Odd! Noticed the banner to the left of that blue 12 banner, centered between the goal posts. This is approximately where our Bitcoiner would be seating, and it looks like to be of the same size depicting a very similar image, begging the question, did it somehow make its way in?

Compare the above with...

Stop making the images so small and we might be able to see something  Cheesy.
879  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are BTC prices not moving ? on: February 03, 2014, 03:21:21 PM
That's how it works.
You asked me, I answered. Simple as that.

I don't think you understand how rhetorical questions work.

This is the calm before the storm. The next storm coming, which I predict will arrive sometime in the next 4 weeks will bring the price of a single btc to over 5K.

I think you might be dreaming a bit too big there  Cheesy. If it did rise to 5k I'd expect a pretty big crash soon after.
880  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are BTC prices not moving ? on: February 03, 2014, 03:05:38 PM
Seems to quiet for me, I'd rather have it rising or falling.

So you'd rather lose money than it remain stable and quiet?

I'd rather have them low to buy them low.
But yeah, fluctuating prices makes me feel more comfortable at night than stagnating prices. It's just my paranoia, not rational reason behind it. :p

So you just want cheap coins? What if the value keep on getting lower or stabilises at a low point?

Then I made a loss, sounds obvious, doesn't it?

Then why state the obvious?
