882  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for data analyst, 50 BTC reward for a day on: June 11, 2014, 11:27:56 AM

Suuuure.
This newbie member is definitely going to pay you 32.5k dollars every day for "data analysis"
883  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.02 btc loan Quick forn 12 hour.. on: June 10, 2014, 06:09:45 PM
serious question, what do you need it for ?
and if it is only in 12 hours, why can't you wait ?
don't mean to be negative, just asking.. cause if someone loans it to you, wont it take a day or two to convert to fiat ?

what are you buying that can't wait 12 hours ?

perhaps more details will convince someone. I was thinking about it,.. caue 0.02 isn't much.. but just the fact you can't wait 12 hours is concerning me ?
fill us in on the details dude!

If you want to give me send me or no then thts fine ...

And you are asking why you need it ?

I need for the shipping of 8gb ram .. ships fees is 0.03 ... thts why..

And will pay you buck in 12 hours or less.. thnkx

18 hours were over since you requested this at the time of your post.
Why do you still need it , you should have 0.023 or 0.025 BTC by now right ?
884  Economy / Lending / Re: UPDATED!! Need a loan for 0.07BTC with repayment in 5 days on: June 10, 2014, 06:06:33 PM
Okay , why do you need this ?
How much interest do you offer ?

Without collateral , you *may* be able to get a loan if you have a valid reason and a naive lender sees your thread.
885  Economy / Services / Re: “Welcome To DUBAI, UAE” - SETUP FREEZONE/OFFSHORE COMPANIES IN U.A.E on: June 10, 2014, 05:59:07 PM

As per the quote "there are NO mining activities in Dubai, U.A.E then im sure you are not in the know how because there is a Huge mining setup in Dubai Internet City that i know of personally. I also know a group of programmers who have a very big setup in Silicon Oasis and one more place in AbuDhabi. The reason why i cannot disclose their location is because they would want to be anonymous.

Where did you get that ?
I wrote that mining does not show that Dubai is good for Bitcoin

Mining will happen wherever electricity is cheapest.
886  Other / Off-topic / Re: IF YOU HAD 1,000,000 DOLLARS WHAT WOULD YOU BUY??? on: June 10, 2014, 12:32:12 PM
I would buy the OP a caps lock key.
Also , if you ask how to spend money on a Bitcoin forums , you are going to get 99% Bitcoin related answers.

For me it would be :- 200k college , 500k Bitcoin , 200k other investments , 100k fun stuff
887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: June 10, 2014, 12:21:43 PM
Considering I have over 2 TB of space just on my normal hard drive, i'd love to use this. It looks really cool.
We have removed our whitepaper because we want to refine it a bit more. At least according to those numbers if you sold you hard drive at Dropbox prices you would make $2,000 a year off your 2 TB. You will be a very happy camper when we add proof of resource to Storj.

We aren't promising that quite yet as the computer science algorithms need a ton more work, but you might be able to run a web node (if you don't mind doing a decent amount of config) and make a nice sum of coins that way.

Wow !
Do you have any ballpark estimate of what the prices would be ?
I know you cannot completely control it , but what would you speculate it to be Tongue

Quote
"Why is your computer on?"
"I'm earning Bitcoins !"
"GPU mining is not really efficient"
"Nope , I'm earning with my hard disk"

I guess that would be the average conversation with a person oblivious of Storj Smiley
I'd love to be enrolled in the beta Smiley
888  Economy / Services / Re: NEWBIES & JR MEMBERS Signature PAYMENT - NEW RATES! on: June 10, 2014, 12:17:40 PM
Paying two members dust after a week doesn't mean anything. They probably shouldbt be moved till paying until after a month has passed. Could even be alts of op. He's got nothing to lose paying such a small amount.
Good point. You have convinced me.

Since the amounts paid are dust payments and to just two members, you will be placed back to "Payment not yet Confirmed". I will move you back to your current section when you reach a month or spend more than 0.1BTC on at least 20 members.

Reach a month is not that impressive.
He can hire 5 Jr.Members each posting 50 times a month , and yet pay only 0.01 BTC

I'd suggest you put a requirement of 0.1 BTC or even put a ballpark of the amount confirmed paid by the campaign owner on your thread.
889  Economy / Services / Re: NEWBIES & JR MEMBERS Signature PAYMENT - NEW RATES! on: June 10, 2014, 12:15:04 PM
Unless I'm missing something here, why did you pay out 0.0199 to each user when they only made 10 and 13 posts each?

Those are the changes lol. He paid just 0.00052 + 0.0003. Smiley

Ah, right. Wish blockchain.info would sort that out.

There is nothing for them to sort out.
They mark all inputs and outputs and they cannot tell you which is the recipients address and which is the change address.

Not really their fault.
890  Economy / Services / Re: “Welcome To DUBAI, UAE” - SETUP FREEZONE/OFFSHORE COMPANIES IN U.A.E on: June 10, 2014, 12:11:45 PM
Hello,

I found a great article how Dubai, U.A.E is one of the most well established economies for Bitcoin Integragation in their community and infrastructure.

https://coinreport.net/uae-technology-payment-bitcoin/

Read the report and let me know your reviews.

This website is extremely biased to Bitcoin.

As stated earlier , the government has not issued any license towards Bitcoin.

Quote
“Cash has been the traditional mode of payment in UAE due to its safe and secure environment but as the economy grows, the cost of cash to society is also increasing. To that effect, the Government of the UAE is investing heavily in adoption and implementation of electronic payments through the e-government initiative. This will further boost the economy and enhance financial inclusion.”

This was said in the article.
They talk about e-banking , using the normal fiat system to make government payments.

The makers of the article just added that Bitcoin is a good implementation , Bitcoin has not been endorsed or allowed in any form by the government as of yet.

Bitcoin would be a great addition to Dubai for Expo 2020 , but there are no real Bitcoin businesses set up in Dubai yet and no licenses have been issued for the same.
891  Economy / Services / Re: “Welcome To DUBAI, UAE” - SETUP FREEZONE/OFFSHORE COMPANIES IN U.A.E on: June 10, 2014, 12:09:37 PM
Hello jambola,

Hope your doing good. Thankyou for your post.

Regarding the issue with business registration, yes it is not possible to register an exchange, that is why i wrote that we should discuss the plan before accepting any approvals. There are many economic free zones that give you consultancy license where you can consult people about anything. If there is a person consulting a dubai resident on what to feed their horses then how come is it a problem for a consultant to advice them about bitcoin or any other investment.
I am  a permanent resident of Dubai, U.A.E and i know of many people who are mining, operating and consulting on bitcoin related activities.

I think its fair to say that this is a grey area but with the 2020 world expo coming to dubai i think it is a great idea for people to setup their business there.
There are special freezones setup specially for the 2020 world expo and it is relevantly cheaper to setup a company there and get a foot hold in the economy.

Duke

There are small scale Bitcoin operations occuring.
I live in Dubai myself, and I know that there is a pizza shop that accepts Bicoin.
But there have been no larger companies trading or doing any Bitcoin related operations.

You said that people are mining , operating and consulting. I'm sure that all operations and consultation are done online , or if they have a proper business , they are very very small.
Mining does not directly link to the economy of the country , so mining just occurs wherever electricity is cheapest.
892  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Ok, but seriously how will I pay for my $250 grocery bill with bitcoin? on: June 10, 2014, 11:03:06 AM
Well , I see an inputs.io lookalike as the best solution.
It permeated almost all the Bitcoin websites and it had off-chain transactions.

But the problem is , the inputs.io scare has put everyone off the idea for a loooong time.

Your idea is interesting , but on-chain transactions can not happen under 10 minutes.

I'm not familiar enough with off-chain transactions, or the inputs.io debacle,  but starting to look at it (I'm a bit late to the party I know). Found an old post http://gavintech.blogspot.com/2012/07/off-chain-transactions.html from Gavin Andresen (possibly pre-dating inputs.io) about it, so reviewing now.

Anyway, not sure if off-chain is really the answer but we need some way for more instantaneous transactions. Multi-sig may have the answer there somewhere.

Well , that post is an awesome idea , requiring lesser trust.

Inputs.io was one of the systems that required complete trust.

You send your coins to Inputs.io , and they write down a balance for you. You can send your coins to other users of that service for low or negligible fees , as the Bitcoins are not really transacted but just the inputs.io records are changed.

You would be charged only when you withdraw , which covers the fees for transferring your inputs.io funds to an external wallet.

I have to say though , inputs.io worked remarkably well , even though it was centralized. Sadly though , it got hacked (or some say it was a man-in-the-middle attack) and the Bitcoin community is not likely to trust something similar again.
893  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Quick question related to Bitcoin patches on: June 10, 2014, 10:57:38 AM
Both the above questions did not answer my question D:

My question was:-

How does the patch get implemented ?

I understand what you say , that people add their ideas to the Bitcoin blockchain.

But who decides which version to use ? If an update is published , and 51% of the people don't use it , obviously it needs to be denied.
Now my question is , does this 51% depend on hashing , addresses , nodes or what ?
894  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Quick question related to Bitcoin patches on: June 09, 2014, 06:37:58 PM
How exactly does a Bitcoin core patch or upgrade happen?
Since Bitcoin relies on being decentralized , I guess the upgrade or patch gets applied with some sort of majority.

Can somebody please explain this or drop me a link ?

Thanks,
Jambola2
895  Other / Meta / Re: Does forum account ban = IP ban? on: June 09, 2014, 06:29:19 PM
with Tor these days it is hard to IP ban... I know the site blocks alot of exit nodes, but I am guessing their are heaps that get through as there are more and more each day who join the exit node club!

Tor nodes are handled pretty well.

But, many people have dynamic IP addresses , so it is useless.
You can instantly switch IP addresses by reconnecting and it is always feasible , unless you are DDoSing then and IP ban is effective as you can't switch IPs fast enough.

897  Economy / Lending / Re: Need .02 quick AGAIN on: June 09, 2014, 06:10:39 PM
I should just ask for a bigger loan, so I don't have to keep asking :p but if someone could loan me another .01 or .02 that would be great. .011 for .01 and .022 for ,02.

Any ETA on when I can expect repayment?

I a couple days I'm expecting

Why exactly are you doing this over and over?

You take tiny loans over and over.
You manage to repay them on time or a bit late.
And you use them for gambling ?

Why not wait a couple extra days for your gambling ? Or is this just to manipulate trust.

It's because I'm inpatient.

Well , you wouldn't have to wait if you didn't need to pay interest for all the previous loans -.-
898  Economy / Lending / Re: [LENDING] Get Loans WITHOUT Collateral- Loans up to $50. No reputation needed! on: June 09, 2014, 06:09:38 PM
I'm surprised you actually got paid back after loaning to someone who has a scammer tag...you're still quite stupid for deciding to loan to people who are clearly scammers, though.

I'd say that it is likely that he just gave a loan to himself after purchasing this new account.
He can try to regain trust on his old account without losing or risking any money.
899  Economy / Lending / Re: [LENDING] Get Loans WITHOUT Collateral- Loans up to $50. No reputation needed! on: June 09, 2014, 06:08:21 PM
I recommend adjusting your trust list to remove DefaultTrust and manually insert people who are trustworthy, and leaving negative trust for Vod here for abuse of the trust system.

AHAHAH !

The irony.

Giving negative reputation based on your own ideals is perfectly acceptable.
If somebody sees you giving stupid trust markings , they will obviously remove you from their trust list.
So Vod or whomever gave you the trust is perfectly justified as giving a trust is your own action and does not have any rules.

On the other hand, you are telling others to give Vod negative trust , which is abuse of the trust system.
900  Economy / Gambling / Re: WIN 100 BTC - FREE TO ENTER | Official Cloudbet FIFA World Cup Thread on: June 09, 2014, 06:04:31 PM
I'm glad the 5000 user limit was dropped.  Have you hit 5000 yet?  Only 3 more days to enter!  Good luck everyone!

now what is the limit. And i think you should held a webinar and do the draw live.it will be the best way for fairness of draw

There is no "draw"
Nobody is going to win , mathematics itself goes against that.

You would get 100 BTC from faucets faster than getting it from here. And faucets are really slow.

Everyone shall be declared a loser once the first round ends.
