881  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is bitcoin mining risk for begiiners? on: January 20, 2023, 04:13:02 PM
As I know, mining bitcoin is the risk you get lost if don't have a good source.
but on social media, I always see everyone or the company share and sell the tool you will get a profit if use it.
First of all what we see over internet and social media is not always right and most of these lucrative offers are just another way to attract people but when you get into the depth you come to know about the true picture. The mining profits is made by the pools who have huge mining farms and get rewards of 6.25BTC which is not possible with these small tools.

For example; bitcoin merch, as they sell it for beginners and look friendly; just plug in a USB to a PC then the beginner can be mining the profit.
Do you think it's this easy to earn profits with bitcoin mining when the prices are trading at $20k so you would be having easy gains with these machines? You can be part of mining community with it but making profits is entirely different case. You need to differentiate between the both.

is the company know what the risk is if they sell it to anyone especially a newbie who doesn't know anything about mining?
They are into the business of selling these machines and for them when you are spending money on it you have the knowledge and need to use it so we can't blame them.As @Welsh said above they can provide you with manuals guiding you how to operate the machine and set it up but you are expecting too much from them. The risk associated with mining has nothing to do with them as you buy any tech from market without analysing what's the use and risk associated with it we can't blame the manufacturer and for them you are customer not any newbie so you should be responsible for knowing all the details before hand.

See there are lot of factors which you need to consider before jumping into mining or say will determine your profitability like :

1) The cost of electricity in your country as you need to have the machine constantly running so high cost will reduce the profits and vice versa

2) The initial investment and time to recover the cost because the actual profits will be after you have recovered the initial cost

3) The maintenance of the system also includes in cost of mining as due to heating some parts may get damaged and needs replacement or maintenance

There are many other factors but if you believe you can start making profits with spending less amount and early then you have no knowledge of the current mining conditions so have your research about it first of all and then see how it actually works.

883  Other / Meta / Re: *END* Post history review offer on: January 19, 2023, 04:30:07 PM
It's just a nickname, doesn't mean it only applies to post creators right? Grin
In the forum context the term @OP is used for the original poster not nicknames so that's why he was saying that.As you can see the OP patch was also added recently by @theymos to recognise the @OP which means who has started the topic with his each post in that thread.

Btw when this thread was unlocked I thought it was closed few weeks back?
884  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: January 19, 2023, 04:19:40 PM

I have seen that some of these coins are not for investment, but it all depends on whether the site is willing to give them a more appropriate value for that, for example they should motivate investors more, that if they buy a number of them they give them a benefit of Inside the casino, or if they start to buy more, they hold a trading contest only with those coins and the prizes can be in NFT, or BTC, or something like that that can have more visibility, the coins or tokens that do not have much publicity It's hard for them to be seen, they have to give a lot of motivation to generate more investment, Rollbit can launch something like that whenever they want, they have good capacity.
They will not do promotion for the native token of the casino to attract the investors because it's usage is limited to the casino and it will benefit more to the gamblers who use it on different things like NFT or lottery and gain benefits out of it.The demand will be more by gamblers as investors outside the scope are not commonly interested in such investment but if they see price are growing they can put some investment for quick profits but on bigger picture gamblers have more usage for these coins.
885  Other / Archival / Re: [Merit] Help newbies and those who have a little left to the next rank on: January 19, 2023, 04:06:57 PM
You already have one merit with 28 activity so you just need 2 more activity points which you will get with the next distribution period if you remain active during that time so you will be junior rank member then. But gain 9 merits more and next one is Member rank.

Rank: Member
Amount of merit: 91
Profile Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2635513
Congratulations you have already achieved the goal to the Full member with remaining 9 merits so now you can make more effective contributions to reach the next target of Senior rank which can be attained if you work for it.

We have a lot of newbies who have the  passion and zeal to learn alot for those that were here before they came in,my self I most confuse this that I really want to learn more and also to be thought in a good way also.
I guess I don't have to say i needed a mentor or a roll method to at list guard us and explain well about this bitcoin talk.
I hope fully believe that am in the right place if not am not mistaking I guess.
We newbies need alot to know and also learn about this bitcoin talk forum because I have really seen alot to know more about here and to learn more also about them too.
Do you care to read what the topic is about or just simply make such post about how newbies should grow on the forum? The topic is about something else while you are making off topic post which is of low quality and discouraged.

You said lot about newbies functionality on the forum and how should they grow but you have registered on the forum approximately 487 days or more then 1 year earning not even a single merit so is this how you make progress and know lot about forum?

As a newbie, you can't send any @PM to anyone. If you read the following guide & rules then you can learn more about the forum.
But with buying copper membership this restrictions can be lifted and you can send messages to anyone on the forum but in his case it's not helpful as the person he needs to contact has been offline from so many years on the forum.

My email address isn't for contacting others (and i can't believe I have to explain this).
Yeah members need to know that any other work or communication details they are looking for it should not go through you but only those mails like lifting proxyban should be sent to you.

Many people who are new to cryptocurrency sit with a desire in their heart to become millionaires in a short time. From this desire,he began to discover various methods, Among these methods,The most dangerous approach is the tempting offer of various telegrams group. A greedy investment in Telegram Group means you lose your crypto assets. There is no doubt about it. In order to begin with, let me first point out the importance of setting this in your mind,THERE  is no quick way to success. In addition, there is another big scam on YouTube channels, where they show that Binance is going to be listed in the last few days, and they ask the viewers to purchase some coins. To purchase the coins, you have to pay a certain amount of Bsc fees. I have been cheated a lot while buying through trustwallet. Gradually I learned to understand that all these are frauds. So beginners should leave the dream of being a shortcut millionaires man from the head, please spend time in the forum to acquire your own wealth and acquire strategies to protect the acquired wealth. I have put some example images below for easy understanding
If you are believing what these telegram groups are saying about making and investment and based on that you are making investment in any of the shitcoins then you are already in the wrong circle man and have full exposure of losing your funds. But the second one as you say if someone is trying to convince you that particular fake coin will be listed on Binance and you will pay fees in just this reason only? What is surety once it's listed it will grow as most of them are pump dump so even if they get listed the first one's to cash out profits will be the team and so called crypto influencers.

So you have been provided with some scams through trust wallet also but once you give them access or invest in these projects you are on the verge of losing your funds which is why I always advise to turn off people adding you in any telegram group without your permission to be on safer side and always investigate about the project and check for the token address to validate it with original one but avoid them at best.
888  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: January 18, 2023, 04:27:20 PM
Rollbit is big casino so for sure they have big plans on RLB, maybe we cannot see that these days or on faster timeline other expect but for sure their are big plan on it. Listing on Ccex might come up soon as this could really add some good boot to them once they can successfully do that.
I wonder how much the price RLB in the next 6-12 months after it's get listed on centralized exchange, because it will show the fair value of the token price. Right now RLB token price is surge, it's similar like the other casino token that has been exist since long time. However the other casino token doesn't improving at all and still remain on the same position, it's really interesting if RLB can survive for long considering Rollbit is really following the hype.
These types of coins are not for investment purposes in my opinion but the demand will derive the value for them which will grow when the gamblers will buy it more to play in the Rollbit and earn rewards with it.So we can see little bit improvement in prices in coming time after it's listed on exchange but we can't expect too much as it's utility is limited and only gamblers on Rollbit demand it.But yes with new developments and addition that surge the RLB token demand we can see price rise with burning of supply.
889  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: January 18, 2023, 04:14:34 PM

That's more advisable since having a different device is actually a cheaper option for us to get more safety measures. Since if our device got compromised as you said the intruder cannot hack what balances we have on our wallets. To many people think that this is expensive and it better to have one device so that they can save money but actually for doing this they are not saving since in long term they might face issues with that.
For safety we recommend different devices although you can use the same one also as it will work fine but eventually reduces the level of security if it gets compromised so people need to think about it.You can have cheaper options available also and have your 2FA enabled over there so in case one gets lost the other one is safe with you and you can have access to your account.
890  Other / Meta / Re: Why the forum keep deleting my old posts? on: January 18, 2023, 03:59:54 PM
You can take a look at the content of the delete posts in Ninjastic & LoyceClub, either by postId or by threadId, but all in all, it will give you a glimpse at what has been deleted, though not why the thread was deleted (nor when).
Right we can only see the deleted posts not the reason as when your post is deleted you receive notification about it and it's mainly because it was reported to the moderator and deemed to be of low quality or spam post. The reason is just limited to the moderators who take the action.

Recently the forum has been attacked by bot farms that post topics and posts with links to malicious software.
Yeah have seen lot of such threads lately by the newbies trying to spam posting on the forum with such links and also thought about such newbie bots indulging in creating such threads to get some victims on the forum. So it's clear now if someone has made post in those topics it was also deleted to keep forum spam free from such threads.
891  Other / Meta / Re: Know who ignores who on: January 18, 2023, 03:42:01 PM
There is no such way and it's kept upto you only whom you put on ignore as this is maintained in the same manner for privacy concern which is good. There are some members who share their ignore list or says about ignoring particular users mostly shit posters whose post they don't want to see but there is no such way of knowing the full details for forum members.

There is one way, although it is not 100% reliable. It happened to me several times that I wrote a post in a topic that gave a direct answer to the question, it also received merits, and then a member who is not a classic shitposter appears and writes a post that is 80% identical in terms of what I wrote. This is a more than good indicator that that member has you on ignore, because if by any chance he had read your post, he would not have repeated everything you said.
This could be one of the determining factor to see if user has put you on ignore list but there are many users who don't care to read all the post when it's already several pages and your post can match his/hers as you said if he is not classic shitposter so he might be sharing the right information in his post.As we are just assuming this could be reason on ignore list but if you don't have any negative connection and contribute good to the forum why would good poster ignore you?
892  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: January 17, 2023, 05:29:35 PM

more precisely the requirements that must be carried out for the security of our own account. 2FA is like a private key which must be kept in a safe place and stored in a different place like on another computer which is not used to download anything so it will be more secure.
The 2FA in Roobet is what makes customers feel safe gambling there and feel comfortable when they want to withdraw funds from Roobet
This is what I was discussing in other thread that most people do the same mistake of having the 2FA app downloaded in the same device they use for logging in the account and withdrawal of funds but what if get lost? The person will have full access to your account and can easily withdraw the funds from your account and also use TOTP instead of SMS while opting for 2FA features which is more safe. But keep them on different device safely without anyone having access to it.

Aww back to third position without even bothering maxing all my three branches!

I have been particularly lazy this time!

Hope to do better next month!
If you call yourself lazy then you haven't noticed others merit charts  Grin because each time I check the merits stats on your profile it's amazing and have increased with your recent thread for helping members to gain merits with post review. But yes would like to see you back on top in this chart as well  Cheesy
894  Other / Meta / Re: How many forum members do you know by real name? on: January 17, 2023, 04:55:00 PM
Personally for me it's also zero and know each other from their forum names only and have never also tried or thought about knowing the real name of anyone and it's cool for me.We have privacy concern and should take this into consideration but surprisingly there are many who know each other in real life as well while some like me have no outside ties and are known by our forum identities only.

We came here to discuss about bitcoin and related stuff while gaining knowledge and exchanging it with each other and the forum names are sufficient for me as main concern is above it.
895  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: January 17, 2023, 04:40:40 PM

Using 2FA with SMS code is a weakest type of 2FA. You might not receive SMS code from deliver in bad days and can not log in your account. Your sim can be swapped too and that can cause nightmare.

Install 2FA on a same device you use to login your email and account.
Store your backups for email, account and 2FA at one place.

When accident happens, somebody can get access of all very easily.
The best 2FA is TOTP which is more useful nowadays and if you are using it with SMS then it's really bad because yes there are network issues which can prevent you from logging in your account.

Also use different devices to have them like the app you are using for the 2FA security measures because if your mobile phone is lost then nobody would have access to your account without the code on other device but most people miss this part.

What do my "User Statistics" show?
The statistics are you in physical form because if there should be a decent is 6:30 shipment and it's true that generally have to be clear on research on the common conclusion off what he has artist this analysis is all about and the development it will bring so I'm trying to let you know that everybody have a good impact or play stop asking a question why you can solve the answer
What are you trying to say actually? The user statistics show his gambling stats for his profile obet the casino but what you are saying is not clear and I think it's irrelevant in this context.
896  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 🖤 - #1 VIP Crypto Casino on: January 17, 2023, 04:27:01 PM
True. I sold some of my stash sometime back when BTC reached $17.5K which I regretted after seeing it get close to $21.5K after a couple of days. Tough luck for me, but it's great to see BTC rallying like this after a long period of time.

I hope it stays above the 20 grand range for a decent amount of time since inflation and recession related issues decreased.
We all face similar situations where we sell but after it the prices rises but we need to think in a positive manner as well that it can go downward also but if you were in need of funds and sold some no need to regret for it.Just hold the rest of it for long term and you will gain lot of profits. At this time we are seeing some hopes for bouncing back so will see how well it goes from here.

Thank you for your explanation! I'm using Instagram so rarely that I had no clue about what "share on stories" meant. I thought it's about sharing your stories about playing on Bitcasino or something. Smiley And now it's too late

Congrats, @matejkuzmanoski!

And hopefully I will be more prepared next time. Smiley
I have aslo starting to look for the updates on Instagram as well from the team to see if there is any promotion which we can catch and have a chance to win but congratulations to the winner of Ledger Nano wallet so hope he keep his stash safe in it with @Bitcasino sticker on it Grin Waiting for next one now.
897  Other / Meta / Re: Who owns and control Bitcointalk Forum on: January 17, 2023, 04:13:10 PM
I've been on this platform for a while now but I can't actually tell who is the owner this forum. I don't also know who controls the activities that happen here.
Please I want to clear my curiosity,
What particular sort of activities you are talking about here? Like if we say about any changes to the forum then it's handled by @theymos and appointment of moderators/merit sources is also his task as he is the administrator of the forum.

So he is the main person on the forum if you are looking for such information but if you see post deleted or any moderation work then it's the job of moderator who you can see under each board where they have been appointed so as to reduce the spam on forum.

Then there are global moderator like @mprep who handles bans on the forum and other works but if you ask for the main person then it's @theymos.

Although Bitcointalk is created by Satoshi, I think he doesn't have any access anymore considering he's already leave this forum since long time ago.
His account was locked by @theymos back in the days so as to avoid any other person abusing the account and the username satoshi is also not allowed to be used on forum with some other keywords as well by him.
898  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i am a housewife want to invest in bitcoin on: January 17, 2023, 03:57:13 PM
hello everyone,, I am a housewife who wants to join this forum and ask for your help, so that you can guide and advise me, especially in terms of investing in bitcoin.
First of all welcome to the forum and just make sure you read all the rules in this thread Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ so as to avoid making any violation on the forum unintentionally also.

as I said above that I am a housewife. and I plan to invest in bitcoin.
You have made the right choice and appreciate your thoughts of investing in bitcoin despite being housewife and this should be motivational for others as well because you are going through the way of investing in profitable asset rather then just saving it.

but what makes me want to invest in bitcoin is because,, if you put it in a piggy bank for a long time I think it will be affected by inflation.
so in my opinion if my invest in bitcoin, of course it will have good potential for the future. but I will ask everyone,
Exactly the money you save in your piggy banks is just lying there without any return but being reduced in value with rising inflation overtime making your fiat worthless. If you see most of the currencies around the world has lost significant part of their value over these years and then government prints more money making it even down.Rest your money in bank accounts is also facing the same inflation rates and you will get minimum in the name of bank interest. Moreover your funds are not yours and lying in their custody which they can anytime put restrictions on but bitcoin gives your financial freedom and returns as well.

is it too late to invest in bitcoin?
because I saw on the internet that bitcoin is currently experiencing an increase.
There were people back in 2015-16 who said we missed the boat when prices were very low so this is not a new concept but for me when you think of investing in it it's the best time keeping in mind you have long term holding without selling in future dips and that will be profitable for you.You must be aware about the market risk and invest what you can afford to loose a friendly advice to you.But keep faith and patience you won't regret it.

Even if you have invested at $20k and holding for 5+ years you will get lot of returns say we hit the ATH of $68k also then also you will gain much out of your investment so don't think too much.

But remember investing is one part and keeping it securely for all these years is also hard task so best is to use hardware wallets if you can and read about them here or non custodial wallets like Electrum which don't save your keys. You need to backup your seed phrase on offline storage safely which is key to unlock your funds and must not be shared with anyone ever.So remember these things after investing as there are lot of people who keep funds on Centralised exchange like Binance but don't do such mistakes and keep funds with your custody.

and whether my decision is right or not, to invest in bitcoin?
You won't regret it once you make the choice of investing in bitcoin  Wink
899  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: January 14, 2023, 04:01:21 PM
<snip >
As far as we know, Roobet has only been launched in the year 2019. The casino is two (2) decades of old.
Maybe the record from that website (Internet Archive's Way Back Machine), records similar url with the roobet casino, but if it did really existed, I strongly believe that it's not a casino.
The domain might be registered years before commencing the business and that's not a big deal but as we are aware of they have been running from few years and I came to know about them when they launched campaign on the forum but the thing is why we are we so concerned about it now? They have been running successfully with legitimate business so we don't need to rely on how many years they have been into this crypto casino line and enjoy gambling over there.
900  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board on: January 14, 2023, 03:51:43 PM
Sincerely speaking, I think no one of those threads is worth local translations unless Bitcoin ETF is a tradable object in the corresponding local market.
I think they are not relevant enough for a local translation.
I am also having the same thought that each thread which have more merits should not be translated into local language but the one which will serve a purpose to the audience of that local board.Like many of your threads are helpful to people in enhancing their knowledge about bitcoin and safety of funds like the seed washers which they also should have look upon and they need to be translated for them. This way the helpful threads by you will reach to them as members in this thread and @GazetaBitcoin are doing well but you mentioning this is appreciated.
