I had already told I wont go first in any case. I dont want to risk, since I am cashing out most of my coins.
You were all along trying to make me sound as scammer. And you were the one who wanted more discount, not me. You were the one who told 20$ isnt worth anything for the trouble.
Anways, I think I will use mtgox withdrawal now.
It cost $19.99 to transfer the money. You said you are paying $20. Do you really thing $0.01 is enough for me to risk $1000? Might as well throw the money away. OP is totally unrealistic. He don't want any risk, while he want other people to risk $1000 for $0.01 profit. Scammer scale 1-5? I rate 999.

wow, being online doesn't mean they are physically there. especially for BTC miners.... we never turn off the pc. So I have my browser open to this forum, but I am definitely not here 24/7

i think its a case of he thinking you are time-waster / scammer and you thinking the same of him.
Well, not everyone is checking this forum every minute. A 30 min delay to reply a PM seems VERY reasonable to me. But I don't know about the culture in UAE.
|
|
|
BEWARE. OP and I exchange a lot of PMs. Many times he is calling me a "troller" for not replying him instantly. I had to slow down the PM, b/c I was hitting the 10 PM per hr limit. Every time when there is a slight half hr delay in replying his messages, he would call me a troller again. Sounds to me like he is so eager to convince someone to transfer huge $ to him via WU, which is a ONE WAY transaction. Once you send the money, its GONE.
OP first offered $1020 per $1000 transferred. For everyone in the US, transferring via WU to UAE cost $20 in transaction fee. When I state I wouldn't do it for nothing, he called me a troller. Then I offered $1040 per $1000 transferred, so at least I get $20 or 2% for my troubles. A slight delay, and once again I am a troller. Due to his eagerness to get me tranfer him the funds, it start to sound to me like he is a scammer. I then countered offered his to pay half upfront, then I do the full transfer, and then he pay me the remaining half. His response is NO. Another sign of a scammer action.
How to detect a scammer: 1. Calling other people troller when they didn't act fast enough 2. Very eager to get you transfer him money 3. Sounds very desperate
bitcoinTrader might be a trusted member here, but someone could have hacked his username here. I suggest others to at least ask for a SCREENSHOT of his MtGox account, at least making sure he has the funds. But then again, there is no way to tell is bitcoinTrader has turned a scammer himself, or if a scammer took over his account.

problem is.... this card cannot be bought anywhere yet.

Do you guys have a recommendation on a manufacturer? like XFX, Sapphire, etc? It'll be my first high-end video card purchase, so I don't want to buy crappy and suffer later.
i would go with XFX if they are non-reference designs. If reference, basically no difference, except the warranty.

All OEM cards are technically without warranty, even if they state 90 days warranty. 5870 cards don't fail as often as the sapphire 5830's fans. These are quality cards.
Not true. The issue is getting the card back through the system. If I sell one, and it is bad, I need to return it to my supplier, who needs to return it to ATI. ATI does not make cards with no warranty, but with an OEM card, you need to get it back to where you bought it. If THEY are not willing to return it to ATI or their supplier, then you have no warranty. And of course ATI does not seem to take back OEM cards directly. In that case, my card has warranty. But I don't really know if the "supplier" would really take it back to AMD.

If you think about it, early adopters/investors always takes on a greater risk, and thus demand a greater reward. Any early investor in early startup companies can become filthy rich, or lose everything. Think of those early investors in Google, Microsoft, Apple, they all become millionaires. But, the not so fortunate ones who invested in other bunch of companies that go belly up during the .com bubble burst.

Accept USD or BTC equivalent. $160 + ship. Shipping is usually $8-10 depending on your ZIP code. Can ship international. You can check the shipping rates at www.usps.comMy zipcode is 42001. Have a couple of NEW 5870 OEM cards. These have 2 DVI output, 1 HDMI, 1 displayport. Takes 2 PCI-E 6pin power input (instead of one 8 pin, one 6 six pin). Card is new, opened to test for hashing functionality. Been hashiing away for a day and counting. OEM means NO ACCESSORIES whatsoever. if shipping international, I strongly suggest INSURANCE, this is not because things actually get lost, but due to some evil customs stealing the items. Insurance are about $1.15 to $1.60 per $100 insured, depending on destination. Note that insurance does NOT cover shipping fees. In case of lost, you will not be refunded your shipping fees. From experience, things rarely gets lost. But like I said, some countries customs tend to steal items. I have successfully completed transaction here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53973.msg644715#msg644715https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53718.msg667335#msg667335https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=56378.msg671346#msg671346

Hey, send me 1000BTC at 535% a year and I'd be happy to start a new account and ditch this one There are almost certainly people on this forum with that strategy. I don't know if chung is one, but his actions are consistent with it. Tell you what, why don't you and I put down 15BTC each to a trusted member. If I repay my loan, I would get all the 30BTC. If I failed to repay, you keep all 30BTC. Are you in? We can of course always up the bet to 1000BTC bet. it's all up to you.

I hate thread crappers.
1. Doesn't matter if chungenhung spends his money on hookers and blow as long as he repays 2. It's probably for mining, I think 3. He has a good reputation 4. As chungenhung himself said: "You really think I would borrow at 535% a yr, and put it into something that makes 15% a yr?" 5. You don't have to loan to him if you don't want to
1. Well, i probably won't spend it on hookers.... the state i live in is illegal.... 2. yes, i am mining.... those 5870 are expensive.... and the list goes on.....
|
|

Well, you are stupid enough to think you are trading with "zero risk"...
it is zero risk.... I am borrowing BTC, knows I am paying exactly 15% interest, and repay in BTC. What is the risk? enlighten me please.
|
|
|
So whats your point? That you have to thread crap all the time? Just for thoughts: Why would I borrow at 15% per month, and put that money into something that makes 15% per YR? I am not that stupid. 15% a month compounded is 535%. You really think I would borrow at 535% a yr, and put it into something that makes 15% a yr? BTW, do you know that most stock brokers would happily let you borrow at 8% per yr? Again, why borrow at 535% when I can get the same fund for 8%? The stock broker would be more than willing to lend me close to 100k, with the amount of stocks I have invested with them.

What has happened, exactly?
One of my early lenders just pushed out some new people. You mean they deposited after you have updated the OP to 0BTC? Yea, forcing out new people like a freight train going through a parking lot. In that case, what if early adopters keep deposit more BTC even when you have 0BTC storage left? Would that mean more late adopters getting kicked out???

As per znort987 . Loan principal = 100BTC . Interest rate = 15% per month . Payable back on or before Feb. 3rd 2012 . No partial installments accepted, but one shot early repayment OK . Interests will be pro-rated to rounded-up number of days money was borrowed . Amount to pay back on Feb. 3rd will be BTC 100 (principal) + BTC 15 (interests) = BTC 115 (total)
If you agree, I'll send the BTC within the hour to 14ZYVka4JkLvxdRJuuX9odyijGLEwJAbec I received the 100BTC loan on 1/3/2012, and will repay 115BTC on 2/3/2012 to 1HYMB9gQmqGUb8DcxbURin5FchZKBrRWuV

do you mine BTC too? i just thought of one thing. If pirate took off, and your funds are with him, then that means you could default too. now if you have mining equipment, that would mean you have lower risk of default.
