8881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the current Mysterium spike pump or pre-pump? on: September 24, 2017, 04:07:42 PM
LOL, and another one, today is the Myst-in-the-news day Smiley
https://btcmanager.com/mysterium-decentralizes-vpn-services-promote-privacy/

And it seems that the increasing attention is also starting to be reflected in the price, which is rising again quite sharply.

I can understand the excitement but this still has to pass a real world test. Currently, there are at least three countries' governments I know that actively move to block content for internet users. This is China, North Korea and Iran. There could be more, but I doubt any are as active or as good as these three. If the project can show success in all these countries, even with small case studies, then I am sold.
8882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If I have $100; and I wanna turn to $200 in 10 days. What'd you recommend on: September 24, 2017, 03:44:05 PM
On one hand, you talk about math and risk. On another hand, you have a completely unrealistic timeframe of 10 days! If this "strategy" were at all possible, would not people all be doing it? Still, if you insist, then this is the way. Find a pumping group. Get comfortable. Discuss with them which coin you will pump and then join in. You should definitely double if the pump works or lose it all.

Personally. You can skip the trouble and go all in on a casino roulette. Black or Red.
8883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 6 Reasons Why Shift Will Become A Top 10 Coin In 2018 on: September 24, 2017, 03:25:50 PM
Now this is what I call interesting. How many of us can say we got into a coin at its beginnings, ready to profit when it hits $1 from a few cents? This is probably the reason that will appeal to a lot of us. The easy to use GUI. I know we all think we are experts and familiar with qt wallets, but you have no idea what a good GUI will do for the future of the coin! Javascript might also be the edge. Like you say, a lot of devs familiar with this.
8884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think there will be a market for coins used for online tipping? on: September 24, 2017, 02:30:05 PM
How will cryptocurrencies fare that mainly focus on tipping streamers and other entertainers online? For example, a coin with a function similar to Bits on Twitch, but with monetary value. Even if this market is small, I think it still has potential to grow as there are few coins that offer such a feature. The only one I can think of is 2Give, which provides a similar function. Are there any competitors you know of?

What I can say about the tipping "industry" is that it is very much alive and well. Dogecoin, despite all its criticisms, will continue to serve this main purpose. Just look online at any casino or place that allows Doge, and see people tipping it all the time. Even giveaways still do this. But considering purely "artistic" tipping, there are a few alts. Artcoin, if you must, is purely based on this.
8885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does such a coin exist ? (anti- pump and dump) on: September 24, 2017, 02:08:04 PM
Hi, this is my first post in a forum. The reason why I have registered is to ask a question...  I hear a lot about the pumps and dumps and how much it hurts the coins.

This is just an idea, and I haven't thought of a full algorithm, but I could do it too, and make some simulations.
Would it be possible to create a coin that, after every transaction from account to account, it increases the amount of coins available on the market?  So for example, if I put 10mil dollars into a coin, I get an increase of the same amount. That way, the coin price would stay the same.  To ensure that the growth is steady, the new coins should have a decay rate so that price of a coin has a steady increase? This way, it would be possible to increase the value of a coin once the dump occurs, so it would force people to HODL onto their coins.

Just wondering, and would like to hear your opinions.

I have personally only seen one alt with this sort of concept. It is only trading at Novaexchange and Yobit. But it is only successful because I think only 2 devs and a handful of miners are the ones just really propping up the price. It is not realistic in the real world. And it will surely collapse as soon as the holders want to cash out.
8886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lending Altcoins on: September 24, 2017, 02:04:16 PM
The way Poloniex works is that practically no-one puts in demands. Instead the lenders put in offers, and they get taken instantly.

You only see the demand side filled when the rates get really high and a borrower is trying to get their loan filled at a lower rate.

What I am realising about Poloniex is that you can often put in loan offers (for alts anyway) at even double or triple the available rates people are offering, especially if the volume is low. Within 48 hours, your loan will be taken. I cannot say why the reason is for this, but I think what you say is correct. You start the ball rolling, others beat your interest rates and then suddenly there is demand.
8887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2017 and WHY !!! on: September 24, 2017, 01:31:21 PM

IMHO, Onioncoin (look at my signature) it's a nice choice. Nice and strong community, good team and one of the most honest airdrop that I've seen. Soon that will be some interesting news about new features and it will be listed bigger markets.

Another one, Dubaicoin (DBIX) in it's in early stages of development, they have some troubles in the beginning swithing from btc to eth but now it seem that have resolved a lot of the early age's problems  Cool

I kow it has been a week since you said this, but I would like to say that DeepOnion seems to be a better option than a lot of those unfairly distributed "Tor" coins out there. Yes, I know that it is not a TOR affiliate, but it does not change the fact that it uses the tech. I agree about the community and team. No premine and no ICO, just honest spreads of the early adopters.
8888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Whales are accumulating.. on: September 24, 2017, 01:05:19 PM
In  every market  there are  whales  and  their  main purpose  it's  to generate  pump, but  also  to ACCUMULATE  PRECIOUS coins  at  a very cheap  price
Buying them without  make  noise,  or  rumors..
In which  projects do you think the Wahles are involved' the most?

The ETH whales are the ones who are the most active in alts, I believe. They hold so much ETH and can afford to spread this out across several ICOs, to diversify out their ETH since it is impossible to exchange it all to fiat in one big dump. You want to have a clue? Just look for new ICO tokens that have managed to keep GREEN despite BTC and other alts moving down to RED.
8889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Da Hongfei, founder of Neo was contacted by Chinese Regulators on: September 24, 2017, 12:42:58 PM
You know, it does not really even say if he was contacted in a formal capacity. For all we know, it was a friend working in the unnamed departments that contacted him. Can we say insider knowledge, anyone? People are still wondering who the originator was for the September news even before any exchanges made announcements.
8890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟🚗[ANN]CARTAXI: WORLD'S FIRST OPERATING CAR TOWING PLATFORM ON BLOCKCHAIN🚗🌟 on: September 24, 2017, 09:23:38 AM
See an excellent picture of the project adopted by the investors at 100%. Working live application and knowledge of market mechanisms in sectors where they are justified and led to success. It was very interesting to observe the project under its promotion. Congratulations to those who made this project, investors and the many support group which has helped to promote the idea of the project.

Have to say that this is one of the few actual businesses already running and with existing staff and expertise. Even the promotion is done by themselves without external support. That shows keenness for self operation. The ICO is just to expand on the existing business with a new idea that people actually need. Let us see how it looks like in 10 weeks!
8891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't regret take action now! on: September 23, 2017, 08:41:41 PM
Regret is natural. We can look back with the benefit of hindsight and imagine situations with different outcomes. But do not let that play against you. Always, always keep discipline. Stick to your plan, let your stop losses trigger, let your judgments take their course, let the misses be recorded and learn from everything. Never let regret dictate your next move. Let your lessons play out and teach you.
8892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA manual claims tracker (UNOFFICIAL) on: September 23, 2017, 08:18:48 PM
I am wondering if some of you manual claimers would be interested to "sell" your claim to someone who would be willing to take the risk. My Offer would be between 25%-50% of the current market price (depending on the offers I get). Given the potential iota price drop once claims are released (when multiple TI flood the market), the potential delay when they are paid and missing opportunity it might be a fair deal for both sides.

Let me know what you think about it and how to handle such a deal. In general it would take the approach that you can also sell outstanding credits to someone else (which we had after the financial crisis too).

EDIT: I calculated the list from page1 since CFB just stated thats still the actual list and found the following:

"Unclaimed" positions
Round1: 195,897,315 miota or 195TI
Round2: 147,193,911 miota or 147TI

based on the total supply that is 12.3% of the total iota supply

There is no such thing as 100% certainty in this game of crypto,,, yes people,,, it is a game, after all. So, if people do not mind, I support pekros and also make the same offer to anyone willing to liquidate immediately. Leave the waiting and hassle to me, do as you wish with what you get from me. Make me an offer by PM. Escrow of your choice, but must be trusted forum member.
8893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best time to buy an altcoin? on: September 23, 2017, 08:08:46 PM
Everyone here says: buy the dips. But this actually only truly works with Bitcoin. It also works to a lesser degree with ETH, LTC and XMR. To me all of these seem to ping and pong together with BTC. So far, I have bought in at the dip to 4100... and again at the dip to 3,400. So I am more or less okay. Slightly still in loss but if it goes back to 4,100 I will be in green.
8894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you go for ICO Tips? on: September 23, 2017, 05:15:41 AM
I do not go anywhere for ICO tips. I do not trust any media outlet because they are all paid to publish. If I do read something, I read it only because of the topic and the content if it is interesting. Does not matter if it comes from Forbes or from this forum. Then I make my own decision, depending on how much information I can verify.
8895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How are you hedging the upcoming Segwit2x fork? on: September 22, 2017, 07:28:25 PM
It is probably a baked in reality at this point the we will have 3 Bitcoins in a few months after BTC forks again into a Legacy BTC and 2x BTC. This fork is looking to be more tumultuous than the BCH fork and we don't even know the details of any upcoming fork yet.

How are you going to hedge this event? Buy LTC? ETH? XMR? DASH? maybe BCH?

I hate all this childish bickering, but we should all start to place our hedges.

Why the need to hedge? If it forks, you will get equal amounts of Bitcoin and new alt. The BCH already was a free hedge and so will the new alt be. You have all your Bitcoin, and you have all the new alts. Hold all for the perfect hedge.

Of course, I always keep a small LTC and ETH. DASH too expensive for me with no usefulness. Same as Monero.
8896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO geography on: September 22, 2017, 04:32:36 PM
A lot of Russian persons in ICOs,,, and former Soviet nations. Usually one or two Chinese people in the team as well. For ICOs where I have seen addresses, it is usually in some offshore island like Cayman but usually in a hypercity like Singapore or London (UK). Strangely, for all the China uproar, I do not recall many China addresses.
8897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I made $3.2M in Cryprto since 2010. Here are my top picks for coins under $1. on: September 22, 2017, 03:54:13 PM
Hello Batman. I do not know much about what you are and what you are saying, but it is enough to know that you have listed 10 alts that I have not owned,,, yet two are in my list for consideration. You know what will make your thread even more interesting. Weekly updates of what you own and at what price you bought in. You want to give back, good. I hope to see you here next year. Bookmarked.
8898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of ICOs that were definitely SCAMS on: September 22, 2017, 02:37:35 PM
Jesus Coin?

There are too many ICOs that don't make sense.  Even the social network ICOs don't make sense.  Why would anyone leave Facebook when they have no issue with Facebook?

Pretty sure that Jesus coin was created for joke and insult. just like fucktoken long time ago.
by the way, you can simply see their concept and their website, they try to decentralize something that's impossible, doesn't make sense at all. probably will raise fund maximal of 0.1 ETH

I tend to agree with Teraboy. It seems that Jesus Coin was indeed created for a laugh, although it's a bad joke. It offers nothing to the world and it's thus completely pointless with nothing to offer to the investor other than a few smiles originally.
It will serve cryptocurrency (money)laundry purposes though...

There is a big difference between a scam ICO and a joke ICO. Unfortunately,,, there are some poor people who fall for things like Jesuscoin because of language barrier. I can tell you now that if you told the joke about Jesuscoin or even old ones like Useless Ether Token ICO, they would not get it. The ICO tag is something that is enough to get them going.

And, no, they do not deserve being scammed. Nobody does, actually.
8899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: FREE TOKENS worth 10+$ on: September 22, 2017, 10:28:55 AM
Thank you for these free tokens. They are actually called airdrops, are they not? I am not really keen on airdrops nowadays, especially when they already have a fiat value attached to them. That is purely speculation and an attempt to feed the coin's growth before the ICO ends, but of course I can understand why they would do that. But with some alts going from 1 sat to 1000s, I suppose these are not completely unrealistic expectations.
8900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How loud are ASIC's? on: September 22, 2017, 10:18:58 AM
I have not yet had the opportunity to hear an ASIC or even a serious mining rig,,, but I can tell you that even my old computer from 1990s was running at a painfully loud sound whenever it was very hot. And I have seen computers at a cafe making sounds almost like truck engines when gamers are hammering away at them for hours.

If vacuum cleaner sounds are all they make, I am actually quite surprised.
