No idea about mem usage however win10 has weird memory problems with superfetch on my computer unrelated maybe you just noticed it. Check and compare to markets build as well

BAY is being delisted from BTER, apparently. Good.

Why does BTER even exist after cold wallet hack? It's crazy that anyone uses it
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: January 09, 2017, 11:18:35 PM
I dont understand why this coin have so less attention, it has the greatest marketplace of all coins.

Do the dev btw. contacted poloniex by himself?
It's worth a try, we must come on a really big exchange this year to have some attention.

I will, I'm just extremely busy. Its so hard to market and code at the same time. Even with slack helping I still need to manage the marketing projects because I'm very familiar with the features and the verbiage.
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: January 09, 2017, 11:16:49 PM
Great work david.
So many coins struggling for volume and risk delisting on bittrex but bay is still quite decent. Next stop polo.

Polo will say the only bad thing is its piss poor volume. And bittrex is laughable exchange now a days, I'd rather trade at yobit.

Well worst case scenario polo will see the potential Bay has to offer with the peg as a hedging tool alternative to it's tethered USD.
So hopefully in another 6 months or so it will be a sure thing. So now is the time to accumulate in anticipation.

Even if Polo doesn't take us, when we peg we will find an exchange who is willing to run the API and they will see the volume and realize they have to take us. It would be missing out on too much. I don't know when volume will spike but after the peg i think it will be extremely high.
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get paid to learn smart contracts on: January 09, 2017, 11:14:14 PM
Any real world use cases implemented already? In other words does the code have bugs?

No this is 3-4 years tested. A contract has never been lost in BitHalo or Bitbay.

Its been used in the past to buy/sell coins and mining gear, someone sold playing cards on the markets... various sales happen now and then. We want to see more people using it. And since this thread advertises guarantor contracts you don't have to deposit at all, only the guarantor takes the risk, pays you a dollar to learn it.
926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get paid to learn smart contracts on: January 09, 2017, 11:11:56 PM
Nice advertisement but what is a smart contract ?

I just put Nuttela on my Banana / Hazelnut bread so..
Does that make it "Smart Banana Bread" ?

No, this is double deposit escrow.

Both parties put up a deposit and therefore if they don't get along, they both lose funds. There is no fancy Ethereum "the contract mows your lawn, drives your kids to school and makes a sandwich". This is straight up mutually assured destruction. The two parties work together, 2 party escrow, no middle men, no escrow agent. Unbreakable without suffering loss greater than contracts value.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitBay (BAY) Releases Required QT Wallet & Client Updates on: January 09, 2017, 11:09:35 PM
Great to see!!

Sure to be added to polo soon I can sense it!

Is this the final wallet which includes the decentralised market and smart contract,s wallet with the rolling peg? Or will this just a stop gap before this is released?

It's not the complete wallet yet, however it's had decentralized markets and custom smart contracts for over 2 years now.
The current version will allow us to transition to POS 3.0 on the 21st of January.
After that the next update will be including a voting system, timelock coins, cold staking in the client, and other.

After that David will complete last 4 smart contract templates.
Here are some screen shots
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=890531.msg11466625#msg11466625

After that he will being working on the rolling peg release.

After that he will complete the custom python smart contracts

Nice archive on remembering those screenshots. We need to do some training vids with the templates when done Smiley ... im thinking film both peers
928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get paid to learn smart contracts on: January 09, 2017, 12:51:33 PM
How would I get paid? you only promote the platform there is no explanation on you to benefit learning the smart contract and be paid

Because the guarantor contract pays out free Bitbay. I'm not sure how much I think it's a dollar per contract. I'm sure the guy issuing them will limit one or two per person. Go over to their thread and ask and Craig will walk you through one.

The benefit to these contracts is they are unbreakable. Once you enter into it, you need to honor your word. There is too many benefits to list

IMPORTANT: FORK TO POS 3.0

Hey everyone! The QTs have been updated and the markets client is now running 1.25 the last step before the voting and staking with exotic spending.
Please update your QT wallets as soon as possible.

The change to POS 3.0 will take effect on January 21st

UTC time: 1484956800

You must download the new QT well in advance. We expect to see more than 90% of the nodes running the new protocol 60016 within a week.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bay/#!network

Also let any exchanges, block explorers and any services know just in case. We will do the same.

You can build the new wallet from www.github.com/dzimbeck/bitbay

Or you can download binaries at bitbay.market or from the OP

930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: CHESSCOIN - 32% POS - COIN FOR CHESS COMMUNITY on: January 06, 2017, 10:37:09 PM
Well dev if only a few people hold it, then it is very easy to relaunch the coin. You only give the current holders their equivalent of the new coin in marketcap or even less like 5%. What you could do is first develop something that is Chess related for example a coin that pays winners of tournaments on LiChess using Blackcoins custom mining. Or maybe it pays users involved in matches with each other, paying the winner aka fair gambling. The users can name their account off their public key. Users who gamble have their coins frozen for the duration of their match until a winner emerges by either registering the address before each game or putting it in a joint account. You can also do double deposit escrow between gamblers. Or you can rent out the mining power in Boinc project where miners run Stockfish which is open source. Strong Chess players might pay the miners to rent the Stockfish engine. Or you can try to solve 8 man tablebases using mining power. That will definitely draw attention. It all depends on your skill as a dev. Instead of launching a coin and then developing, develop something and then launch. Don't launch without a project in hand. That is exactly what crypto community is tired of. Nobody wants empty promise. Do first, talk later. I taught myself Python in 3 months and coded BitHalos prototype in 3 months 4 years ago because I knew how important double deposit escrow was to crypto. No talk only action. If I can do it, so can you.
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: January 06, 2017, 04:15:44 PM

Yes! Exactly. Crypto is slowly moving away from hype toward utility and usability and BAY has a feature set that will be in demand. The past is the past, if you live there instead of the present, you will miss every great thing the happens in the crypto world. This won't be the first time someone dedicated and tenacious made something great out of the ashes of someone else's scam but, it will be the most profitable in spite of the haters...

David: Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work David. It won't be long now till it all pays of.

Funny you should mention this. Our slack team made this promo video. Bitbay rising from the ashes like a pheonix. This is going to be our year.

932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: January 06, 2017, 04:07:30 PM
Even with the cold staking in the client, anyone who splits their wallet into multiple accounts still might use QT. This is because Bitbay uses multisignature and uses those public keys in the markets and for account management. However when the coin moves to pegging the QT will be completely obsolete.

With that said, we have a new mandatory QT for the FORK on the 21st and we are only waiting for the website to be updated.
933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: CHESSCOIN - 32% POS - COIN FOR CHESS COMMUNITY on: January 06, 2017, 03:17:00 PM
It had to happen eventually, someone started a "Chesscoin" that has absolutely nothing at all to do with chess.

(insert word here)coin

U are noob and should not chew this beautiful product out. This is a currency developed for folks with brains, it will broaden adoption of brain games across the globe pretty much like btc facilitated adoption of principles and standards of decentralization.

A noob profile calling a Legendary member a noob  Grin ... whats even funnier is I'm one of the strongest chess puzzlemakers in history.

www.zimbeckchess.com

A real "chess coin" would allow gambling (maybe payable to winners of private games on lichess.com) or mining for advancing tablebases or boinc projects or renting out the mining power for opening analysis. But just naming a coin chesscoin doesn't mean anything. I could name a coin baseballcoin but if it has nothing to do with baseball then what the hell is the point?

Plus, 32% is too much. The coin can't hold value if it inflates at that rate.

I think this is something the dev misses,he did not reach to people who are experts in the world of chess so this coin is going nowhere and it's hard for it to associate it to the chess industry, chess has a very large community maybe one guy could come along who knows chess and blockchain also..

Well my friend I know blockchain as well as chess... I'm the dev of BitHalo/BlackHalo/BitBay. Unbreakable contracts and hundreds of other features.

www.Bithalo.org
www.bitbay.market

BitHalo/BlackHalo was worlds first smart contracting software years ahead of Ethereum. My software has a full UI to do contracts unlike ETH where people still can't get a UI. I had decentralized markets a year ahead of Open Bazaar in BitBay and Halo. Now we are working on decentralized pegging.

But heres the thing. I'm not trying to flaunt credentials... the other fool called me a n00b and it was ironically hilarious. And not trying to be rude to the "dev" either. Honestly I was just commenting because it was funny to me I was looking at the bottom of coinmarketcap and saw chess and laughed about it.

The problem with crypto is people starting projects when all they care about is money. They lie to themselves as if they actually care about the cause of the coin when in reality they need to make money so hope to bait naive investors with fake profiles on BCT. Even well intentioned devs get involved who know nothing about coding so therefore are never able to deliver anything. And the problem is when they start coins without knowledge of how to dev and in this case without a clear game plan of how this coin has anything to do with chess.

Thats like naming a coin "baseballcoin" and hoping Barry Bonds sees it and gives you an idea and money. Shit does not work like that. The only way to do a coin is to deliver a working prototype FIRST before announcing a product. This way you build some trust with investors instead of promising them things.

If the chess community wants a coin, they would start one of their own instead of supporting a premine to make a guy rich just because he named a clone "chesscoin". I'm of course happy to support anything to do with chess. But not when the dev doesn't mention anything about chess in the OP and has 32% interest which is nonsense. Chess players with "brains" are smart enough to know that 32% interest goes up almost exponentially and completely dilutes their original investment. Unless they buy early and dump on so called "n00bs". And then distribution of the coin via ICO... people are tired of ICO. Returning the ICO funds is honorable however it wasn't the best strategy to begin with. Premine is too easy to game original investors. Best to simply do POS mining distributed to confirmed reddit profiles or free coins to bitcointalk members like NEM did. If dev wants a percentage, give himself around 1-5% of newly mined coins like Zcash does. I doubt anyone would complain about that.

But what is so funny about all the new random (insertnamehere) projects is the only people they end up fooling is themselves.

I think it won't be long before we are discovered. If big money arrives they will do some real research before choosing their investment vehicles.

That may well be but i have my doubts, there seems to be no networking here and what do i get when i type in bitbay to google? you think they will hang around after a small read? i think not.

A small read is no good. Do your research and you will find there is no reason to treat bitbay as a pariah. Sure we as a project got scammed  at the start by others. There is no reason to treat victims as pariahs only criminals like the scammers that stripped the project of its dev and marketing funds.

This specifically I cannot agree with more. It is almost human nature to blame victims as "might makes right" seems to be peoples attitude towards all things. Since liars have the advantage, they usually prevail especially since propaganda is not illegal and hard to take action against even when legal action is potentially possible it is completely unfeasible. The entire PURPOSE of Halos double deposit is to obviate and in many cases eliminate the need for courts and the legal system all together. Unfortunately propaganda is a more complex problem which is why I've said many times before decentralizing the media is many times more important than decentralizing the money. However any serious investor is not so naive anymore and should research a project, more importantly download and test drive the product. Thats why we offer a fawcet in the client for testing contracts.

With that said, I think anyone here in crypto already knows this. Almost everyone with few exceptions knows this is a legitimate project because they can download the software and use it. Unlike 99% of projects we have hundreds of little features that are actively working. So Lituation for example is playing "devils advocate" and he knows it. The only thing standing in the way of Bitbays public acceptance is lack of marketing. And that is essentially a problem that can be solved. It is better to market with technology instead of marketing empty handed. Sure there is always the "get money first and code later" strategy but as most people who know about this project and Halo project they know that is not how we operate. If you want to follow a "market first code later" project then Ethereum is the best candidate for that. "Oh we have bugs, but who cares about our users if they lose money eq. DAO"

Also with BLK there is no reason for me not to support that project, its part of the Halo suite and has distinct features that Bitbay doesn't have. Or at least it used to with the multipool. The difference here is Bitbay I have control over the Github whereas any additions to BLK need to go through rat4. And they aren't a fan of pegging tools... but I'm not sure they fully realize the power of the tool being made here. And thats okay, no two coins are alike nor should they have to be. That is the beauty of crypto. That consumers will get options instead of being forced to use USD. And I guarantee you, once Bitcoin is mainstream people will care about features. They won't give a shit about a project that has a DOGE face or a stupid Trump meme. They will care about what the coin can do for them.

Who is selling at 73 sats? madness Smiley

It was probably a single investor. With all the new money coming in, I will be surprised if Bitbay doesn't at least double especially considering the updates we are about to release.

2017 will be a very exciting year for BitBay.
We will fork to POS3 in january, so check in often the next two weeks to keep updated.
The fork will lay the groundwork for cold staking, pegging, and more  Smiley

Happy new year

Will it really have the chance after all the decentralized market being created these days, it seem like there are much competition going on. It will be good if bitbay will progress though. imagine how much profit will an investor get if he invest today because the price is cheap.

I think this will be the best of the lot. I only hope we can do it in time to make big waves in this area. Some others have big teams with a lot of funding. This is how it goes in life. Bitbay were the first to start with this idea. Others came along and pounced on it and tried to copy it. Hopefully though soon this project will start to come all together and proving all of us correct is sticking with this and david will get the recognition he deserves for coding out and designing this masterpiece.

I will never sell until any at all until we are top 10 at the least.

When moving to pos3 will there a coin swap. Would we not be better waiting until black has it's next big update? I heard they are making some big updates very soon to the codebase?
No there isn't a coin swap the client automatically switches. You need to download the new QT which will be posted shortly. Black may update their codebase however I mirror the watchonly branch so I might not update the the newest source
