922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Importing Litecoin - cold storage on: January 07, 2014, 05:31:55 AM
I guess you'll need to install litecoin. Then open a shell and type "litecoind importprivkey YOURKEYHERE"...
You should be able to find tutorials with pictures also.

930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 29, 2013, 09:06:47 AM
I've been watching this on the neptune batch 1,2,3,4 stuff and if you look on KnC's site it goes down like this:

1st batch - pre-existing customers only at $10K - shipment Q1/Q2
General release - anyone could order at $13K - shipment Q1/Q2
2nd general release batch - anyone can order at $10k - shipment in Q2 at least 1 month after the general release batch

So, honestly time will tell when everyone will get their miners. It's just all speculation at this point since it's months out and we have no more info to go on. If you want a 2nd batch Neptune they are still available (912 left). I do believe they might release some Junipers since they're a little crazy like that. If they do I certainly will pick one up if the price is reasonable.

For me the game changer is that this disappeared in the batch sold now:

I like your design!
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 24, 2013, 07:05:30 AM

Why is this batch 2 again?  I thought they already sold batch 2 for like $13K???  and now this is back to $10K?

No, that was the second lot of batch 1...

More interestingly is that "Refund in US$ up to shipment" disappeared from the product description....
936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 19, 2013, 12:04:37 PM
Wouldn't it be better for existing customers if KnC didn't ship any more hardware till Neptune ?
The november(December) batch just added 3PH to the network.  The October batch added at least 2PH.

Yeah, I would prefer them not to release anything. I hoped those big manufacturers to have some sort of contact with each other, agreeing not to flood the network.

What's the exact terms on which they will make another batch? Also KnC is responsible for more than half of the current network  Shocked ?

As soon as a competitor starts shipping, that's what triggers KNC to sell more miners.

Seams to leave a lot of room for interpretation. E.g. is Bitmain enough a reason?

939  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Early Neptune Preorder on: December 19, 2013, 05:50:55 AM
You are aware that this order can be cancelled up until delivery for a full refund of ~12k$? So bids below that shouldn't be attractive to the seller (except it's a scam).
940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can anyone move my BTC using an old backup and old password of a wallet? on: December 18, 2013, 02:57:05 PM
Hi,
this might seem a very simple question but I can't find a straight answer to it.

Imagine someone has access to an old backup of my wallet (QT client, Multibit, Electrum, etc...) and that this person has also the original password of that wallet.

That password has changed now, but can someone move my BTC with the old data?

Yes. Changing your password on the new wallet doesn't change it on the backup. Secure your Bitcoins by moving them to a new address which only you control immediately in such a case.
