941  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: August 13, 2013, 11:24:17 PM
everyone blames Gox- and to be fair they have had their fare share of fuckups

however, the other exchanges are TOO SMALL at the moment to be facing the same problems mtgox has been facing.
once they "take over" they would be in the EXACT same situation.

part of the problem IS gox. a huge portion of the problem is the traditional banking system - this needs to be addressed correctly by the WHOLE industry. only then will the problems decrease
942  Economy / Securities / Re: Amethyst - IPO finished, shares now trading at 2btc each, WE'RE OFF TO THE SUN on: August 13, 2013, 10:17:47 PM
you don't ask for a business plan - you  buy amethyst, then - profit!
943  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bitcoin ASIC mining hardware price bubble? on: August 13, 2013, 08:43:15 PM
Bitcoin used to buy ASICS - RISKY (as most will never get ROI on their bitcoins)
USD to Asics - less risky (with btc price going up this can attain ROI with a higher chance -however, you could be able to buy more bitcoins with the cash you used to buy the asics)

risk risk risk
944  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: August 13, 2013, 08:35:21 PM
The intangible you're talking about is fees and right now they are almost non-existent........

People value a company forward - everything is too easy with hindsight.
The forward value includes fees and other ventures AM might go in, such as hardware sale, manufacturing, distribution, and everything else.

Example: current valuation for Tesla is looking at perfect execution for the next 8-10 years. Meanwhile bears (lingo for "the ones saying it will go down / want it to go down") are saying that "$TSLA isn't worth half it's current valuation by looking at current sales" (paraphrase) - everyone has an agenda, and only the fool blindly listens.

ASIC Miner could buy out some small fish in other Hardware/tech industry.
they have enough coins to make good, smart acquisitions  bitcoin or NOT bitcoin 100% related
they could also invest into their competitors thus ensuring mutual prosperity
945  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 13, 2013, 07:37:35 PM
100th->200th would make these retail miners less valuable - sigh
it'd be nice for a discount or price drop based on this - we'll see
946  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 13, 2013, 06:54:19 PM
ajk, people freaked when the "site" just went offline and noone heard anything for a few days - that's all

theSwede - i think what set off the latest rumor mill is the site going down- also, strange things that have happened to "competitors"
947  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 13, 2013, 06:50:18 PM

948  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 13, 2013, 05:36:26 PM
That really depends on the point of view.

My biggest fear is that they're going to regulate the shit out of bitcoin, making it practically impossible to use legally. And I'm near 100% sure that what we're doing here right now, the whole "bitcoin securities" thing, will be deemed illegal. That's not good, and that's not bullish for bitcoin.

If needed, I think the whole "bitcoin securities" thing will move to a more secure location if it was deemed illegal.  The United States does not rule the world, and if they want to attempt to restrict Bitcoin, or control how it is used, it would be nothing more than a speed bump.

All this is besides the point of Labcoin though, when is the next update scheduled to come out?

It will go decentralized which isn't actually a bad thing. It would be wise of congress to update the crowd funding laws to support cryptocurrency securities so that the industry can grow to it's potential. All it would take is just the stroke of the pen of Obama and some congressmen getting on board.

huh, crowdfunding is not restricted to any industries afaik
949  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Butterfly Labs...also received a subpoena" on: August 13, 2013, 12:27:24 AM
no... BFL is not located in NY - NY the state has jurisdiction within its borders.

noone on this forum seems to understand jurisdiction. it's like AsicMiner getting a subpeona from him. does it make sense?

i mean they can ask nicely after all- subpeona is not asking nicely
950  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Butterfly Labs...also received a subpoena" on: August 12, 2013, 09:57:15 PM
dude is confused about people complaining about late orders with hardware vs conversion
