I can throw 27 pathetic Mhashes on if you need a specifically small one later on.

Thank, we have a lot of people that want to try this but we have a list and I just put you on.

less 'risk' for people who have an old block erupter or something laying around and willing to help Wink

I would be willing to help. I have a few usb block erupters, and maybe a block erupter cube I could put on this.

It less about the hash rate, I just want to make sure miners can connect to this url and make sure they can communicate with the data.

Ok just let me know when you need them. They are just collecting dust atm.

Actually I am rebuilding the idea, so I will update this thread. Some people gave me some great ideas so yeah.

I'll sell you a block erupter blade on the cheap if you're still looking for something to test with...

Thank you, but I don't need any mining equipment, as so many people are willing to help!

Will minera connect to this?

I know it is very difficult/not at all for minera to solo.

I am always for someone in help. Let me know.

It is needs to be able to solo mine, if it uses cgminer or bfgminer, it will be able to connect. I am currently working on version 2 as this could be big for solo miners. I am not a miner at all, I understand it in theory and algorithms but I have never done it.

Quick announcement version two of this is almost ready, I will be going down the list, the first version failed due to a lot of problems, so now that I have fixed those, and even moved the logic to a more powerful gateway, it should be better.
943  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The block chain API hell on: June 17, 2014, 07:21:16 PM
You should really give us a try https://apicoin.io, because a lot of the cons you put down for our services, is what we have build upon to make our service the best. We are actually the market leaders in the PaaS (platform as a service) api niche. We don't promote who uses us due to the fact we value privacy more than spike in traffic for a day.

It may be a small thing but i didn't till now because i need to setup a key for apicoin.io
Consider offer free test drive with limitations based on the ip like biteasy
Just an advice, i am adding apicoin to the list of providers even without not authenticated access Smiley

We will consider it and run test to see how it does, but the api keys are industry standard, we want to be at that level and beyond it.

It is very simple to implement them, if you are using php, send me an email at admin@apicoin.io, I helped someone the other day to get it working. We are here to help, any questions or coding help shoot us an email, we never want to hear people wanted to try us but couldn't get over a certain aspect, because we can learn from that and hopefully make that barrier to entry to use us non-existence.

Ask him, If he is into tax havens so much, does this mean that he will not be investing in US bitcoin companies anymore? Also has he pulled his investments out of US based bitcoin companies (Bitpay and memory dealers (which he owns)), since he has to pay taxes on those returns?

How long do you need it to be connected for?

I am tweaking things and some people actually proposed some ideas. Right now I don't need any miners, but thanks for offer.

Any hash rate threshold(s) - lower/upper?

Nope any miners of any capability. Just a reminder that this experiment may blow up and die.
957  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does any miner want to help test something? on: June 16, 2014, 08:06:36 PM
Mmm... And what is it for? Any additional information?

Secret idea, that could blow up and not work, or could be useful for solo miners. I will not profit if anyone solves a block. Just trying to do my part to help prevent 51%.
958  Bitcoin / Mining / Does any miner want to help test something? on: June 16, 2014, 07:40:49 PM
I want to run an experiment with some mining hardware, basically pointing your miner to a certain site for me.

First this not pool software.
Second this would be like running a solo miner, I would not be able to collect blocks from you or steal your money.
Third this for people that want to see if something works or fails.

Contact me.
959  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-16] Forbes: BitGo Raises $12Mil, Draws Attention of Institutional Inv. on: June 16, 2014, 06:21:51 PM
They either have to compete with coinbase or I really don't see them worth the $12 million unless they are moving to hardware and just need the cash.

Because enterprises don't want a web wallet for their funds they want to have their funds on their terms. I have actually brought up some enterprise systems for bitcoins and they aren't going to want this. I don't bitgo did good market research. Plus they make no money.
960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Block Explorer do you use ? on: June 16, 2014, 03:50:45 PM
@gweedo I was checking https://apicoin.io/api/v1/doc/ for send & receive API but did not notice any reference. Though it would be a bit complicated, I think https://apicoin.io/api/v1/doc/#pushtx can be used to send Tx. If u have easier API link for send & receive, can u please point to those ?

That is our sending api https://apicoin.io/api/v1/doc/#pushtx we don't want have access to your funds as that is dangerous and even if you trust us we could get hacked and then your funds would be gone. So by doing this you can signed your own transactions which is pretty easy now of days, and we will send it to the bitcoin network.
