sounds like a good idea, but even anonmity transcations can be placed. a very good amt of features expands the coin to have greater value overtime

Hey Everyone. I've been watching how you've handled what has transpired with Dreamcoin and have been nothing short of highly impressed. This is one of the best early coin communities I have seen. As such, I'd like to offer a suggestion on the direction this coin takes. To show I am serious, I just bought the shit out of Dreamcoin; I am putting my money where my mouth is. You may or may not remember me from the last thread, but let me just say, when it comes to Cryptocurrencies, I am VERY good at what I do. The biggest issue Dreamcoin has right now is you have nothing to set you apart. You're a clone coin. There is no innovation. There is nothing unique about you. Yes, you might get lucky and get some sort of pump, but it won't be sustained. I mean no disrespect when I say this, it's just the reality of cryptocurrency. It doesn't have to be this way. Dreamcoin can be something special. Dreamcoin can do good in this world. And as a result, all of you can profit.I had a Dream... I had a Dream where I walked through the villages, towns, and cities of the world and I didn't see any homes with lawns. Lawns are an enormous environmental burden that take water, fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides, and give NOTHING back except a nice looking park-like atmosphere. They epitomize a culture disconnected from nature as well as their food supply. But slowly, that has been changing. People have been waking up to this reality and turning their lawns into food-producing gardens. A couple examples:   Local food production MUST be a part of our future. Removing our unproductive, resource-hogging lawns is a large part of that solution. Installing organic gardens in their place helps the environment, provides high quality food in a world where food is becoming ever-more expensive and unhealthy, creates community, and the list goes on. "Food not lawns" is a burgeoning movement and I feel Dreamcoin can play an enormous part in it, to everyone benefit. How? We incentivize people removing their FRONT lawns and installing a garden. It may sound cheesy, but I assure you, this can be amazing. For example: 1. We would create a Dreamfund. If the community agrees to this idea, I will start the fund with a donation of 25,000 DRM. 2. Anyone who wants to take advantage of this incentive first takes a photo of their front lawn that will be removed WITH a piece of paper saying, "My Dream is becoming a reality thanks to Dreamcoin" or something along those lines. 3. They take measurements of the lawn to get a total square foot area. 4. They post progress pics along the way. 5. Once they are done, they receive $0.20 per square foot of lawn that was removed in Dreamcoin. So if they removed 1000 square feet, they would get $200.00 worth of Dreamcoin. Over time, this amount can be adjusted as necessary with people who have already submitted their photos being grandfathered in. When all of this catches on, we can then begin partnering with local nurseries, farmers markets, CSAs, and the list goes on. Let's make DRM serve a purpose. Let's carve out a niche for Dreamcoin. In my opinion, this would be an awesome one. I realize not all of you would be thrilled about this specific niche, but it's something I know a lot about. Not only can we do a lot of good, but if we do it well, the value of Dreamcoin will rise as well. This will let each of you profit AND allow us the funding to help people replace even more lawns with food. It can become a self-perpetuating cycle. An X11 POS coin that isn't a pump and dump. We don't need anonymity. We don't need any of the buzzwords people use these days to pump their coins. Because we will serve the greater good. We will have a purpose. What say you? |

Fact of that matter is that once the fork happens and masternode payments go live(and are proven to work), and darksend code is released and poked at for a week or two, all the dark markets will start accepting it, and i seem to recall something like that happening before to some upstart digital coin.
A few other coins out there have actual innovation(nxt's platform implementing colored coins is one that comes to mind), but this coin has essentially a whole budding tor relay network behind it(masternodes) in a self sustained matrix. The best part is that once dark markets start accepting it as a standard, and the price goes up? The feds will just have to buy a bunch too(if they havent already) to set up their own masternodes to spy on the network, which will just make it go higher. Im sure coinmixing between nodes can just be scaled to deal with it too.
Bitcoin has sort of done what it was supposed to do; introduce the concept of a blockchain, a magical ledger that no one has control over and anyone could see, and its fantastic for that purpose. Now its being incorporated into government and banking, and is really a gold standard gateway into any other coin. Its changed along the way but itll do just fine.
Regardless of how people are playing the markets day to day, and how many bollucks ripcoins there are, well executed concepts with real purpose is what this next generation of coins(and technology, and nature) is all about, just like the last generation.
If evans code holds up under open scrutiny, and people continue to support the growing infrastructure of the network(why wouldnt they the incentives are brill), this is going to be an important network, and i cant think of a better coin to be hodling.

I don't think most understand just how much innovation the masternodes are going to bring to the drk network and how this will influence the value of DRK over time. I know I can't grasp the full magnitude of it, but the ideas I can think of have me quite excited for the future of this coin and network. |

I suggest that the Darkcoin community begin to take the moral high ground. I've noticed people in this thread talking shit about other coins. All that does is create blowback. I really can't blame people from other coins talking shit about DRK if we're talking shit about other coins.

A couple of people have PM'd me asking if they should hold onto their DRK or sell it and try to buy back later.
If you have to ask someone else, my suggestion would be not to trade. I'd suggest holding and slowly selling off a small percentage of your holdings every X to XX point rise to lock in profits with the goal of never selling all your coins. That way, even if the coin goes to $1000/coin you still have 5 coins, 2 coins, or even .5 coins to continue to lock in profits on the way up with. If there is a large multi-day pullback after you lock in some profits above that point and you still like the fundamentals of the coin (don't let your emotions dictate the fundamentals!) then use PART of those profits to reinvest.
Don't play the day to day swings, you'll get killed.

A smart trader would rarely try and catch a shitcoin on the way down. That's suicidal. But when the fundamentals are strong in a coin, you have a top tier dev, news sources are starting to report on your coin, and you see a low volume retracement with a high volume blowoff low, you're not catching a falling knife. You're catching a baby falling out of a 3rd story window that you now get to watch grow into a toddler, then a teenager, then an adult. |

No, actually it's not. Because I hit a couple of those large walls and haven't sold any DRK in a long time. It is one guy putting the walls and they using their other acc on the exchange to sell/buy from themselves. It makes it looks like there is incredible buying support when in fact it is the same guy trading with himself. I still cannot understand how those big sellwalls gets raped so quickly, like the 27 wall. I would expect that the seller would pull back his order, but no.....it gets instantly eaten  Like I said earlier, all I see is whale blubber. |

Isn't anyone a tiny little bit worried about the potential troubles coming Evan's way? I mean he is 'public' on the fact that he created darkcoin, right. It provides great trust towards investors, but how long will it take before unhealthy interest comes his way? What about certain governmental institutions? How will he defend darkcoin if it's used for illicit activities?
