961  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 20 oz of apmex silver bars on: November 08, 2014, 04:17:21 PM
I'll buy at least 10 off of you for spot assuming these bars are .999 fine silver, I'll buy all 20 if you'd be interested in knocking a small percentage off. No need for paperwork as I'll get them tested myself.

I'm EU, so I'm assuming this is preferable for you?

Escrow is no problem, though I'd prefer to do a direct trade. As you can see by my trust I'm not going to run off with your silver.

I will instruct the escrow holder to release payment when the bars have been received and tested to be pure silver. If they test as fake (no offense meant- you have a low post count) then I'll return them to you and leave appropriate trust feedback.

PM me if you're interested Smiley
962  Economy / Goods / Re: Anti Red Light Camera License Plate Covers on: November 08, 2014, 04:00:07 PM
Will they ever charge you for using these to obstruct their cameras? Or is this completely legal?

I doubt this is legal, or if it is, it is an area that has not been properly explored very much by authorities (how many jo sixpack people would use these or even know where to buy them?).

Don't get me wrong, I love this product and the spirit behind it (I've been ticketed more times than I care to admit in London, and it came to way more than $200) but I think there is potential risk for being seen as evading justice or some other shit.

I'll certainly consider these if I have a car anytime soon.

Grats on an awesome side business.
963  Economy / Speculation / Re: Discuss my portfolio weights on: November 07, 2014, 05:44:47 PM
I would add more gold/silver from this price downwards/sideways. They are both at multiyear lows, that's when money can be made.
964  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees on: November 07, 2014, 05:01:29 PM
The real problem at this point isn't the tech, as it could be implemented, even in a basic manner, it is the viability of having the range of items that eBay have without mass adoption. So far, you'll be lucky to transact at all in btc, let alone have an average joe install some decentralized market exchange.

As always, with eBay you are paying for the exposure to both buyers and sellers.
965  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bigtimespaghetti speculation thread on: November 02, 2014, 09:05:46 AM
Silver hit my downside target. And BTC is grinding into my buy zone.

Hopefully btc will make a short term bottom with a nice bounce.

I think silver is a great buy at these prices for the long term.
966  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What's cheaper- Localbitcoins or using an ATM?? (in London) on: November 02, 2014, 09:00:20 AM
Yep, I was interested in a few other's opinions though.
967  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcointa.lk, the Bitcointalk community with a 2014 forum software on: November 02, 2014, 08:56:42 AM
best thing about bitcointa.lk forum is we can see deleted post from this forum there Smiley
hmm i see link account feature. can i link my account and post there?
after that my post will appear in this forum?

Well it is not really good ... even if you will delete your message for some reason (your BTC address or something else)  people are still able to see it on Bitcointa.lk...

This feature is in my opinion not really good.

Also I very don't like the way in which Bitcointa.lk is designed ...

I like the way in which bitcointalk.org is looking and that's all.

Kind regards.

Leaving deleted information is not optimal, but everyone should take care with any information they post online. Assume that everything you do is recorded in one way or another.

969  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: !!NEW!! Physical Bitcoin Design Competition !!NEW!! Bounties Inside! on: October 30, 2014, 08:26:26 PM
Hello, I see a lot of people posted their design, I did not have to much time to work, that's why I post this late.
The coin is called Raptor, it might need some small adjustments but here's a preview.
I'll a second design today or tomorrow.

That is a cool design MrBAU. I think the composition needs a little tweak, but I really like it!
970  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] Unobtanium Silver Wallet 1.65 ounces of pure fine silver for sale on: October 30, 2014, 08:14:41 PM
Okay a quick update guys.

A small shipment is on the way and will be in the UK by next Tuesday.

The problem is, that tomorrow I am moving to Amsterdam.

So there will be a delay on when the numbers 6-15 are available and can get shipped out. This is out of my control at this point but the positive is that I can confirm for anyone that has reserved their bars that there is almost enough that most people should get their bars from this small run. Another separate shipment with additional bars is also on the way meaning that without having to preorder or take people's money that everyone should be able to get some of these awesome silver bars! The plated ones are currently with the shipment arriving in England.

So I'm really sorry guys, there will be up to an additional two week delay for numbers 6-15 silver bars. This probably isn't a bad thing since I'll be learning a new animation pipeline in my new job!

Funnily, the numbers 16-25 should arrive before as these will be shipped to my new address in Amsterdam.

I know this is strange, but this job I'm taking has been in the works for a while.

So my apologies guys, the striking of the bars and the shipment took a lot longer than I expected (due to changes at the supply end regarding the plating).

I'd rather be straight up with you guys so you can get the facts and know what's up.

On a side note, any bitcoiners in Amsterdam, feel free to say 'hi'!  Smiley
971  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: October 30, 2014, 04:18:57 PM
With the FED ending its QE right now I think we will see both assets fall for the time being or at least stay where they are, but soon enough another QE will be announced, it's just about picking the right time to buy both, because this round could be of a huge impact.

I don't see much more downside in gold even with QE 'ended'... watch the ECB take up the slack. From here on down seems a good buy to me.
972  Economy / Economics / Re: Technological unemployment is (almost) here on: October 30, 2014, 04:17:28 PM
Technologist =/= economist. If things indeed get more and more efficient, that by definition means they will be cheaper to make and cheaper to produce. So a family will be able to survive on the salary of only one person, again. Don't forget that we used to have less than 50% of the population employed in the past, and we did fine.

Yes, this myth of almost 100% employment being normal is ridiculous and destructive.
973  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] Unobtanium Silver Wallet 1.65 ounces of pure fine silver for sale on: October 29, 2014, 09:07:46 PM
Can't wait to get these...guess I should snag some uno to fill it with!

Thanks! More update are on the way tomorrow.
974  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bigtimespaghetti speculation thread on: October 29, 2014, 09:05:50 PM
IMO if bitcoin price gets lower than the prevously low of 275 we can see even lower prices from 200 to 250, and then it might go up just in 2015 if that's true.

Agreed.
975  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bigtimespaghetti speculation thread on: October 29, 2014, 08:08:32 PM
I really like the year of the snake. I missed out on buying some earlier last year when the premiums were much lower Smiley
where do you score your perth mints if you don't mind sharing?
ebay has good deals that pop up once in a while but some of the older coins in the series have crazy markup!! Cool

This is exactly why I like Perth mint. If you are in the US, then the big name stores are fine.

In Europe I only know two online stores that do good deals. I can post the addresses for EU in the OP if you like?
976  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] Unobtanium Silver Wallet 1.65 ounces of pure fine silver for sale on: October 29, 2014, 07:58:45 PM
I'm glad that you're enjoying it  :-)
977  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be that guy on: October 29, 2014, 06:22:50 PM
The parabolics we saw on BTC in 2013 were a very rare event in terms of markets.

Being that guy gets harder and harder when a lot of other people are trying to be that guy too.
978  Economy / Speculation / Re: Countdown to BTC < $100. How to get 1000% profit on: October 29, 2014, 06:20:09 PM
3) Then BTC after few months will bounce back to $1,000. Now your 3 BTC is worth $ 3,000, so you started with $300 and end up with $3,000, that is, almost 900%~1,000% profit!

This is not going to happen any time soon, please troll harder.

The best we can expect is $450+ by year end. Probably not even that. IMHO of course.
979  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling a five months target at $211 on: October 29, 2014, 06:13:53 PM
You didn't need that many lines, you could have used 2 or 3...

My gut feeling is that we could grind lower from here. My gut is sometimes wrong though!
980  Economy / Speculation / Interest in an automated Bitcoin pattern recognition software? on: October 29, 2014, 05:59:17 PM
I'm not sure if this should be in services?

I have a contact that has developed a piece pattern recognition software specifically for bitcoin and is interested in providing it as a service, but is pretty uninformed of the viability of monetizing it to the bitcoin community.

Thought I'd post a poll to try and gauge interest.

Thanks!
