I'm sure it took some time but you also needed much knowledge to apply there, so it's a great service for our community. Well, what can I say then... have no fear, Gazeta is here  Maybe it's another topic for your translations list. I also thought about this, but I am not decided yet... After all, it's just a post, not a topic per se. Besides, the post / hardware check were made solely for helping those having a Betnomi Ledger, thus the post won't be so useful for a large mass of users / readers... This is why I hesitated about adding this post to my translations list. It's really sad what happened to Betnomi but at least, people can keep their Betnomi Ledgers (and put some stickers on it to tape Betnomi's logo).  LOL!

I think he means that, although I checked my Ledger and it showed up that it was not tampered, that does not necessarily mean that his Ledger was also not tampered, so he will perform a hardware genuine check on his own. This one is safe but I can not assume all rest Betnomi Ledger wallets are safe. All those interested to check their Ledgers for hardware integrity can do it following the steps I already provided. I have one more Ledger from them but I won't bother to unseal it and check it and I am sure I'll find the same result. fillippone, for example, said that he will also check his Ledger. If we can not test those wallets and be sure they are safe, we should not use those wallets. Why do you care so much about what others do? Are you the owner of such Ledger? If yes, then check it yourself. If no, then you can't coerce all the owners to check their wallets, right? Some don't know how to do it (if they did not see my post) and some may not even care. If I understood correctly, I think that GazetaBitcoin left the campaign solely because of dissatisfaction with the work of Whirlwind. Lack of communication and unclear staking calculations as a main problems. Not because of moving to a better-paid campaign. Actually no, things did not happen like that... I was deceptioned, indeed, by the fact that they stopped replying to my emails for more than a month; by the fact that I had some days when the daily reward was not paid anymore (not even later through a compensation); and by the fact that they never came with that report I requested for the period of May 17th - June 14th, in order to check in how many of those days I actually received the reward. So in all this context I was also looking for a better opportunity for renting my signature. It was only the chance that I left the campaign in the day of the penultimate payment made by Hhampuz. So when he made the last payment (2 days ago) I was out from the campaign for a week already. |

Be careful though and try to remember the place of each piece when you'll dismantle it. And be very, very gentle during the operation. Even if I vaguely remember the Ledger App certified that as genuine. Even if you saw this... you know very well that what a software says is not always accurate. Honestly, I trust more that fact that I see the PCBs identical than that command which confirmed the Ledger is genuine. In my opinion comparing the PCBs is more important in this check. |

Can you trust a list found on the internet? Why Ledger doesn't disclose this kind of information? Well, I will try to answer to this question below. So having this TargetID mentioned on their website and as well inside that list confirmed that the information was correct. So no matter if the other values for TargetIDs from that list were correct or not, that did not influence the integrity check of this Ledger, as same information was provided by Ledger too. - Now about the other values from that list, for the other Ledger models: if we look on Ledger's website, on the page about hardware integrity check, we can see this sentence:
If we access the link provided, we can see that the GitHub repository was provided by someone named dr-chain. Now if we open the page containing the list of TargetIDs we can see at its right side a section named "Contributors". There are 27 contributors. If we click on Contributors, to see all 27 names, one of them is dr-chain, meaning the one mentioned directly on Ledger's website. Does it make sense? Seeing the name of this developer on Ledger's website and also on that page containing all Ledger TargetIDs is reassuring from my perspective.
In any case, I did not check the integrity of other Ledger models excepting the Nano X one so I can't say that all those TargetIDs from that list are 100% correct. But for our check we can know for sure that the TargetID is correct, as same value is mentioned directly on Ledger's website.
Thanks for checking integrity of wallet. After reading your post, it looks like one of these operations that you shouldn't do at home if you don't know what you're doing.
